Zaazi At The Lodge in Lichfield

I have drove past here many times but today was the first time i came to eat, and i wish i had come sooner! Inside was really nicely decorated, the service was amazing, they were so friendly! Thank you to our servers! The food was tasty, it came quick despite the restaurant being full! You can also bring your own alcohol to drink, which is a huge bonus! I am already planning on coming back next week!

Good food, not oily and properly cooked

Delivery ordered on a Tuesday night, almost bang on time. Tanddori Chicken delicious with gorgeous onions and fresh salad. Chicken Tikka Madras was also excellent, tub full to the top with a thick sauce rather than grease which takeaways often are. Madras packed a punch without being too much. Mushroom pilau rice clearly made fresh. Good portions all round and excellent value for money. Easy online ordering. Top drawer.

I really enjoyed the meal . Plenty of choices and service second to none . You can take your own wine and as it was a birthday treat , your own cake as well .. Thanks for everything staff members at Zakazi.

Food was nice however my 16 y/o daughter answered the door in her gym clothes and the delivery driver letched over her and made her extremely uncomfortable. Complained to just eat whose only response was that they’d passed on my comments to the restaurant. Won’t order from here or through just eat ever again. Clearly the safety of women and children is not a priority.

Once again a fantastic meal and overall experience. Booked for 6 of us, was welcomed with a smile and shown to our seats. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Ordered poppadoms which arrived swiftly and then the staff member took our order when we were ready. It’s like they were just aware when we needed them. No asking for anything. Food arrived, beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious. Not a single issue or complaint. Big portions, lovely flavours. Can’t ask for anything more!! A few members of our party had desserts which again came presented lovely and I’m told tasted great. Honestly this place is a real gem. The price is cheaper than expected and massive value considering the quality of food and service. We will, again, be back. 5 stars all round.

Disappointing experience - one item missing (mushrooms) and chopped tinned tomatoes ( expected fresh tomatoes) from lamb Rogan Gosht.

First time here friendly staff arrived just before 6pm me and my wife both of us had a starter and a main all 4 dishes were delicious a special mention for portion sizes they were very generous and to be honest we can’t wait to go back definitely worth paying a visit

First time eating here as the other indian takeaways in lichfield aren’t the best, we’ve eaten here before and we enjoyed it so thought i’d give the take away a go. Slight hick up with the food when it arrived missing some items however after a phone call the delivery driver came straight back with the items that weren’t in the bag and then they came back with a complete fresh order for us which is excellent service. The food itself was amazing and we will definately be using this restaurant now

We had a celebration do at Zaazi the lodge with friends & family. It was epic. Food, service and the Zazzi team were second to none, and no ask was too much. Highly recommended for either a large gathering, dining in or just getting a takeaway. Fabulous food.

This was the most delicious takeaway I've ever had! It was STUNNING! Moist chicken, fragrant rice, even the chapati was outstanding compared to what I've had elsewhere. Thank you very much!

Quite simply excellent, food, staff, atmosphere simply quite brilliant, take your own drinks !, saves a fortune, attentive friendly staff who all enjoyed a little banter, great advice in regards the dishes available.

We had a takeaway for the first time on Saturday night. It was delicious! All freshly cooked and very flavoursome. We were looked after well by the manager who helped my partner make the right decision on the spiciness of his main meal. I had salmon tikka which was gorgeous. We will definitely be back and will eat in next time. Thank you 😊

Used to use the lodge but last time we went a couple of years ago felt it was just average. Went for my birthday tonight with family as I heard it had changed management. It was a great experience, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and advised us and changed the meals to our liking. The food was delicious and such good quality. I will definitely go back and would highly recommend this restaurant. The portions were generous. We all loved it.

Went to Zaazi at the Lodge (shenstone) yesterday 2 April with my son and friend. What can I say. Fabulous interior and decor. Spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and incredible service. Best of all the food was outstanding. I had a Vegetwble Karahi. The Best dish I have ever tasted. Quality food that is so fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again very soon.

Bit dissapointed, had the same dish the week before which was good, but for £23 for a curry, rice and bread, was missing coriander, chicken not as fresh, so won’t be using again. Shame!

Recently started ordering from here after a disastrous experience at another local restaurant. Absolutely bowled over by just how good the food is. Flavoursome, authentic, exciting and every dish is delightful. Can’t fault the service and the warmth of the team - even when collecting a take away they make you feel that your business counts for them. First rate response to a family member’s unusual allergy - team already aware of what had been requested, clear assurance given over the dishes concerned and a professional concern for ensuring the safety of their customer. Absolutely splendid place, can’t recommend it highly enough.

Good food, great service a bit loud!

Chips fell all over the floor bad was that soggy. Popadoms crushed into tiny pieces, curry very average nothing special passanda tasted like a weak korma Balti also weak. Nan bread soggy 😣 gutted as I’d herd some good things about this restaurant

We are here yesterday, it is about our third visit since the new owners took over. The staff can't do enough for you, from hanging up your coats, giving you enough time to choose your meal and being friendly. There was a mistake with the order for two of us, which they offered to change, but the meal they brought was more than acceptable, so we didn't send the food back. As we were leaving, the original choice of meal was handed to us in the form of a take away, with their apologies! How nice was that? Great service which should be noted. Thank you to the staff at the Zaazi.

Christmas dinner 25 December 2023 Very friendly, enthusiastic people, giving a very warm welcome. Without a doubt the best meal I've ever eaten at a curry restaurant. With the exception of Rick Stein's place in Padstow this was the best eating out experience of my long life. A very imaginative menu. Superb flavour combinations. This was a premium priced Christmas day menu and they really pulled out all the stops. Simply superb Take your own alcoholic drinks, very well worth a repeat visit, I can't wait for next Christmas.

The best curry house for miles around me and my partner use this for our date nights. Chose to be venue for our engagement along with kids. Booked an advance and asked for some assistance which was achieved. Food was exceptional quality and very good prices £80 for four people mains,rice and naans each can’t complain. Until next visit happy trading

Fresh poppadoms, tastiest curry, amazing portions. I’ve found my new favourite Indian.

Not from this area as we were on an overnight stay visiting friends that had travelled from Greece for a holiday. Saw this restaurant online and the ‘bring your own alcohol’ certainly helped us when deciding where to eat for the evening. Staff were very welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived right up until we left. The service was excellent and the food was tasty and hot with a great menu choice. This is somewhere we will definitely return to when we meet up with friends again. Hopefully won’t be too long before we can visit again as there are lots of dishes from the menu that I really want to try. Fantastic value for money and worth every penny.

Nine of us visited Zaazi for our car club annual curry. Food was excellent, nobody had any criticism of their respective meals. Service was good, getting our order exactly right. Portion sizes were good as well. We will definitely return here for our next outing. Recommended.

Busy on a Saturday but well worth the wait.

We love it here - both dining in and takeaway. The food is consistently good and the staff are so friendly. We’re coming to the end of home renovations and hopefully won’t be having takeaways as often but Zaazi will remain a regular order for us.

Went for first time with friends and was most overwhelmed by the standard and quality of the food ,I had the house special biryani which is the best biryani I've ever had ,my partner had the salmon which she said was brilliant ,we will definitely go back ,excellent.

We came here for a meal last night with a couple who had never visited Zaazi before, they were very impressed with the quality of the food as well as the staff who are all super friendly and attentive. We’ve crossed so many curry houses off our list over the last year as they’re just not reliable for the quality of food, but we’re glad to say we’ll be adding Zaazi at The Lodge to our list as a firm favourite! Thanks for a lovely meal and great service! We’ll be back soon.

I first posted a review of “Zaazi at The Lodge” back in June 2023 and feel I need to reflect and validate my comments from back then. I was a regular customer of “The Lodge”, Balti restaurant in Shenstone, through all its heyday years, from when it first opened about 30 years ago. Then they lost the plot a change of owners followed and, sadly, all the problems exacerbated. Thankfully, now, all that is history. It now has new owners who have done a great job with a full revamp of the restaurant and a new name. They opened, as “Zaazi at The Lodge” in Shenstone, a few months ago to provide a new experience of Indian cuisine with the ultimate dining experience. Now, having had the opportunity, I’ve been working my way through their new menu since they re-opened. So, what about the food? Yes, it’s amazing, delicious, excellent. Even their milder dishes, normally I like hot and spicey, are very tasty. The team are great always very helpful and eager to cater for all your needs – just ask. Nothing is too much trouble. Prices are sensible too with no silly, local, delivery charges for their fabulous takeaway service either. And portions are good, invariably for me, as I always have starter, there is enough of my main course left-over for a light lunchtime snack the next day. And, they even have a Customer Loyalty Reward Scheme. A welcome way to show appreciation for your custom. They are now my firm favourite “go-to” Indian Restaurant for my Friday (every Friday) curry fix. Yes, every Friday. I know I’m sad my wife tells me every week, but I do love a good curry so well done Zaazi. See you next Friday.

Visited for my first time last night and was pleasantly surprised by the food, service and interior atmosphere. Lesson learnt, never trust a book by its cover. Beautiful food, served piping hot, hospitality was spot on and food portions were huge!

Wonderful food, clean and stylish surroundings and the friendliest service I've experienced in a long time. We came out for a birthday meal, and it's one I'll remember for a long time. The tandoori mixed grill in particular was lovely. If you like great food and service at a reasonable price, this is the place for you.

Do not let the previous owners bad food hygiene rating put you off visiting here. The new owners have got everything absolutely spot on (and now have a 5 star hygiene rating).The new decor is fresh and inviting, the staff are friendly and efficient and most importantly, the food is amazing - the best I have had at an Indian restaurant in a long time. It is also very fairly priced and you can bring your own alcohol. We shall definitely be making this our ‘go to’ restaurant.

We had been struggling of late to find a decent Indian restaurant until we gave Zaazi a visit. We have tried this restaurant now on three occasions and can firmly say it is by far the best Indian food we have had in a long time. Can’t recommend it enough. Staff are pleasant and attentive. We will be using this venue on a regular basis from now on. 10 out of 10.

We had a large group booking to celebrate the end of school year 11. The food was delicious; arrived hot and on time. The service was professional attentive and friendly; we were so well looked after. Thank you to the team at Zaazi for making our dinner extra special.

A great transformation, the food we had last night was excellent taking both fresh and vibrant. The atmosphere was lovely with several families enjoying an early evening meal, all enthusiastically enjoying their meals. My wife does not like spicy food so the waiter offered to adjust the spice level for her main course, wish they did and as a result she thoughtfully enjoyed her meal. The staff were great, being attentive and helpful without being intrusive.
