Found this small sushi and cocktail bar whilst in Bristol for the night. A great little find. Delicious food and drink, and the owner was great too. If you live locally and like sushi, you must try.

Drinks were absolutely top notch, Owner/bartender definitely knows his drinks. Don’t let the food menu fool you, although quite a small menu, every single meal on that menu was stunning. The salmon donburi was some of the best I’ve ever had, the salmon was perfectly cooked and so fresh. 12/10 would come back

The sushi and sashimi was pretty good for Bristol but £32 for a box, the noodles were poor with no effort and very dry beef.

Very disappointing experience. Service wasn’t good and food had burnt bits in the greasy noodles. Beef was tough and tasteless. If the place can’t handle several meals at one time, don’t be open for first table bookings.

I went there to celebrate my birthday and they made it a wonderfulexperience. I spent a year living in Japan and the food/drinks brought me back to that time. The sushi rivalled many of the sushi restaurants I visited in Japan. A great selection of drinks. A must visit for those into Japanese whiskeys with their vast selection. Great food and great service, I very highly recommend this place. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff bringing good vibes all around. My favourite bar in Bristol by far.

Love this place, it's my 2 favourite things in 1! Cocktails and sushi 🍣 I booked a cocktail class for my hubbys birthday. We were not disappointed, Chris is very insightful with his class and we really enjoyed making and drinking our drinks. Then we had food and again, wow what a treat. All I can say is wow, first class experience. It's a difficult business landscape for hospitality these days, but Chris at Yuri Bar really sets themselves apart from the crowd. We booked onto the Japanese Whisky Masterclass. Absolutely fabulous, strongly recommend to all, an absolute must for beginner and expert alike. Cannot wait for my next visit. 5/5.

Great little place for sushi- very tasty. We had a vegetarian platter and crab and avocado ones through first table. Would love to come back and try fish sushi platters next time ! Our cocktails were sooo good and really great wine choices too from Chris for us to try !

Very nice spot. Passionate owner and a limited but thoughtful menu that delivers each dish with care. Also extremely good wasabi. Also a fantastic cocktail selection, however I especially recommend a whiskey based one.

We went a little early as part of 'First Table', so understandably the place was quiet. Not an issue Food was fabulous. All arrived promptly and the owner is enthusiastic about his resturant, food, and drinks. Nice mocktails + vegan donburi and sushi platters. Looking forward to returning!

Absolutely unbelievable, I lived in Japan for three months and this place measures up to the quality of the stuff I had over there. Great music and atmosphere. Fantastic staff. Amazing whiskey selection and the owner is beyond knowledgeable. A really personal level of service. Cannot recommend this place enough. Best sushi restaurant in Bristol and so reasonably priced considering the quality!!

We went for our two year anniversary and oh my lord!!! My partner lived in Japan for three months and he still thought that was some of the best sushi he has ever had. Chris the owner is the loveliest, most passionate person ever. He treated us so well and gave us an amazing education in Japanese whiskey. All I can say is, if you want fantastic sushi at a surprisingly reasonable price you can NOT do better than this absolute gem!!!

The best sushi I've had in Bristol, served in a friendly and authentic atmosphere. An interesting drinks list, which I look forward to exploring during future visits.

Cocktails were poorly made and overpriced. Matcha martini tasted like a poorly made Tonic with Matcha could not taste any Gin. Non-alcoholic cocktail was paid for at full price £12. Food was acceptable. Stingy maki rolls, standard burger, nigiri was unevenly cut but good tuna and therefore only highlight of meal. Music choices sporadic and jarring. Didn't feel warm at Restaurant had to keep jumper on. Felt uncomfortable to raise complaints especially as the server was overbearing, rambling and self-admittedly drunk. Overall experience felt very unprofessional and ironically extremely "un-Japanese" despite the owner persistently reminding us how much he loves Japan and Japanese culture. Very poor experience

It was an absolute pleasure to visit this new Japanese themed bar and food was amazing. Me and my friend had the best 10 star experience with Chris, Alex and Antonio we had VIP service and we tried one of the best Japanese whiskey collection in town. The cocktails were great as well mastered to a detail. Will definitely come back again. Thank you for a lovely evening and unforgettable experience.

Absolutely delightful. Was gently dissuaded from ordering the Baby Blue Margarita by the owner Chris (who is a fan of neither tequila or sweet drinks) but it was delicious, as was the more approved of “Yuri Sakura” that my girlfriend ordered. The highlight of our night, however, was Chris himself. He is an absolute hoot- eccentric, very chatty and endearingly eager to tell you what different Japanese words mean. He shared with us his history as an engineer whose machine now resides in Germany, and that he used to run a clinic which is how he knows that drinking goats milk and cutting out dairy would fix my eczema. He made an effort to remember our names and also gave a lovely statement about how his bar is a safe space for all. Domo arigato, Chris-san. We will be back.

The owner, Chris, is the nicest person in the world and knows his stuff about Japanese whiskey and has the best and widest range. The sushi is incredible and authentic. Amazing atmosphere and the service is incredible. This is a place that everyone should visit!

Got the chef’s selection sushi platter along with the beef noodle dish that they offer and it was delicious! Tasted fresh and very flavoursome. Cocktails are out of this world, probably some of the best in Bristol, so definitely worth a try even if just for a few drinks! The host was so welcoming, friendly and super helpful; you can really tell he is passionate about the sushi bar and loves what he does! Overall 10/10 recommend

We didn't have food as was just passing by but had a frozen cocktail each , served by the very friendly Chris. We had a frozen Margarita Strawberry Daiquiri, they were lovely! There is a huge cocktail menu that includes your typical ones but lots new ones I've never heard of before and want to try! Definitely will be coming back to try the food as well as the cocktails! I can't comment on the atmosphere as it was early in the evening so was quiet as you'd expect at that time.

Wonderful atmosphere from the start. Chris made my husband and me feel very welcomed with amazing home cocktail recommendations and alcohol-free booze options as well! Both my husband and I aren’t massive tuna fans but when we had the tuna sushi as part of the chef’s specialty we were blown away! It is melt in your mouth amazing 😋 Definitely coming back and I would particularly like to recommend the rhubarb and ginger martini and literally any of the sushi! Perfect for a summers eve ☀️

Felt like sushi for dinner, wandered in - and probably the best wander I've done in a long time! Chef's selection platter was incredible, the california rolls were the best I've ever had, my wife adored the cocktails and Chris was an amazing host. Definitely going back soon - keen to try out the teriyaki burger and donburi!

A wonderful atmospheric place where you will feel like a VIP customer. Delicious cuisine and quality alcohol. Incredible music. The highlight of the place is definitely the owner, Chris, who works with all his heart. Definitely recommend.

Great sharing platter, sashimi was top-class! Owner Chris was really knowledgeable on his menu, and even recommended some cocktails that complemented the dishes.

I really liked the green tea ice cream due to the smoothness and rich creaminess with green tea’s refreshments neutralised the yakisobi ‘s grease;chocolate ice cream because it’s sweet, sticky and a bit spongy like you are chewing a gum(this is personal opinion and a simile) which is quite special and memorable. A bit of comment to the donburi is that the soy sauce was not evenly spread across the rice bowl so the bottom of the rice was too salty🫤Also I would like to recommend to play Japanese songs to promote Yuri’s atmosphere.

Had an amazing experience, the cocktails were made by the owner and he put a lot of care and effort into them. I had a matcha martini and a red velvet cocktail which were both delicious! Also, the owner gave us free glasses of champagne and Japanese whiskey, would 100% reccomend going here!

Our family loves coming to this friendly sushi restaurant. The owner is generous and attentive with his guests. Our sushi was good and focused on the classics - tuna and salmon. We also enjoyed a vegetarian platter. The place transforms into a cocktail bar later in the evening but we haven’t stayed on for that.

Excellent sashimi here - top end salmon and Tuna used and so fresh. The beef Yakisoba was really delicious. They have a real good selection of Japanese Whiskey - I’m now a new fan. Highly recommend this place for a good authentic Japanese Food

This place was an amazing surprise for me and my girlfriend. We came here not knowing what to expect, attracted mostly by the reviews we saw. Once inside the owner was really nice and chatted with us about the place making some recommendations on what to have and explaining his unique concept of sushi and cocktails. I must say that I was really impressed by everything, there was not one thing that was bad or even average, everything was either good, great or amazing. The sushi has amazing quality fish, the rice is very well done, the nori sheets are really good too and everything just comes together really nice. The cocktails were also something unique and very very good. I'm definitely going to come back to this restaurant and I think that whoever is reading this review should 100% give it a try

Me and husband visited Yuri Bar this evening and it was a lovely experience top service! The owner was very friendly and kind going the extra mile with his generosity. The drinks are amazing along with the food 😋 the bar is very welcoming and gives a chilled pleasant vibe with a wide range of different music playing at the right level.

A Bristol must visit location. A date night must. Couldn't have been more satisfied.

After a long hot day, I had the frozen strawberry daquri. It was very sweet and delicious and a perfect cool off. The man who I assume is the owner was very kind and outgoing giving me a free small glass of wine. I definitely will come back soon to try the other interesting cocktail flavors!

Enjoyed sushi and cocktails/whisky here with my partner. The quality of the fish was excellent and what really stood out is the owner's passion/in-depth knowledge of Japanese cuisine and drinks! We'll be back.
