The fish was extremely well cooked, the Haddock very delicious and would recommend a visit

Travelled down from Yorkshire to see a football match at Bristol Rovers and stopped here based on google reviews. What a chippy!! Freshly cooked, massive portions and beautiful food. The bloke behind the counter was an absolute gent, he even let us use the toilet through the back as we’d had a long journey. The whole place was spotless. If we’re in Bristol again we will be heading to the Blue Fish

What a great little find. Was travelling back from the airport and thought it would be nice to stop for some fish and chips I looked on Google maps and this place came up. Now I am half sceptical and half excited when I see a place with 4.9/5!! We were only 10 minutes away so thought, why not call in. The food did not disappoint. The batter is lovely and the cod was a right treat. The homemade tartar sauce split the group. Some said the best they've ever tasted and others said a little too citrus for them. I ordered the large fish and chips and couldn't finish it. The chips were really nice and flavoursone. We will definitely call there again when travelling to Bristol 😁👍

Had fish and chips 3 times now and fish very good, although only thing would be chips never cooked enough, left leaving a review until now but on each occasion some chips have not been cooked enough and are hard Just cook the chips more would then be perfect

I’ve been coming to these lovely people from the moment they opened and have continued to ever since. Has always been 5 stars for me, but really appreciate the friendly service every visit. The portions certainly are generous too!

The first thing to note is the amazing value for money on the menu. Especially for fish and chips these days, Blue Fish is leading the way in pricing. My partner had cod and chips and said it was good. As a veggie I had veggie pie and chips and this was good. Only criticism would be crispier & fluffier chips. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This place has 5 star ratings for a reason. It’s probably one of the best fish and chips I ate. Even my South East Asian friend agrees to that and thats a big thing because they are really into seafood. Will definitely visit Bristol again only for this.

100/10 do yourselves a favour. Everything is fresh and made to order. Their portion size is incredible and tartar sauce is second to none. Absolutely no complaints from our family. This family business is something you should consider supporting.

Food is always cooked to order so takes 10-20 minutes but the wait is worth it.

Eaten here a couple of times and always good. In particular this week (July’24), chips and fish were cooked fresh and tasted great. Batter has a particular taste/hint of spice, so it seems homemade and the chips were proper ‘fish n chips’ chips! Nothing was too greasy and the service was great. Will come again and fully recommend. (Only ever had the fish and chips, so can’t comment on anything else)

First time we’ve had cod & chips from the Blue fish, absolutely fantastic, the cod had a lovely crisp flaky batter and the chips had a lovely taste. Very nice couple own this establishment and I’m now going to be a regular visitor to this excellent fish shop.

2nd visit - absolutely delicious freshly cooked fish & chips. Huge portions and very welcoming. We ate inside the takeaway, pic is a large fish and chips. We'll be back next time we crave fish and chips which cost about £12 (big enough for two to share)!

Last night, I had a blast at Blue fish, diving into their famous cod and chips with lashings of gravy. Let me tell you, it was a real taste sensation! The cod was flaky and perfectly crispy, while the chips were golden and fluffy inside. And when you dipped them in that gravy, it was like hitting the flavor jackpot! What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted. You could tell they put a lot of love into their cooking. Walking out of Blue fish, I was one happy camper. If you're ever in the mood for some seriously good fish and chips, you gotta check it out yourself. You won't be disappointed!

I have to admit, I was initially skeptical when I walked into Blue fish and saw roast chicken on the menu. But let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised! I decided to give it a try, and boy, am I glad I did. The roast chicken was absolutely delicious – juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It was evident that the same attention to detail and commitment to quality that they put into their fish and chips extended to their roast chicken as well. And the sides? They were just as impressive. The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, gravy was made to perfection. It was a meal that exceeded all my expectations, and I left Blue fish feeling thoroughly satisfied and impressed. Who knew a fish and chips shop could serve up such amazing roast chicken? If you're ever in the mood for a tasty and comforting meal, don't hesitate to give their roast chicken a try!

I live in Westbury on Trym and have purchased fish and chips a few times since this take away opened. I cannot fault the food or the service, yesterday my son and I ate in the shop at lunch time and everything was great. I thoroughly recommend this fish and chip shop.

Delicious food and lovely service

I love this place, the chips are amazing, fish is stupendous because the batter is soooo good. Everything is cooked fresh. Curry sauce is also really good. They have loads of great meal offers too and the owners are really friendly. If I had one minor negative it would be the battered halloumi as I expected them to be freshly made but they are the frozen variety. But this is my only issue, everything else perfect.
