Yummy Sushi Bar in Leeds

There are no enough star how amazing this resto is. Hundred percent authentic, will recommend to my friends

The food its nice, well cooked, well made and most importantly very affordable and made infront of you The down side is Unfortunately it's not as authentic as Japanese sushi. Japanese sushi contains sake and mirin in the rice. the sushi here is designed to be halal to sell to muslim people and it simply doesn't taste the same as authentic Japanese sushi. you know an ethnic restaurant is quality if you see people of said ethnicity eating I haven't seen many Japanese eat here and ones who have say it's not authentic unfortunately. If you want something affordable here's a great place if you want someone authentic you are better off going to a chain sushi restaurant.

Amazing service and great quality food!

Sushi rice and the crab stick taste good. I appreciate especially the seasoning. The sauce for the beef tataki is also excellent. The roll is above average, especially in Leeds. If there is anything to improve, I myself prefer the texture of the rice to be more grainy（ grain-by-grain） than very sticky, although suchi rice is supposed to be sticky. Difficult to explain. Stick together not loosen, but still feel the rice bit by bit in mouth. For beef tataki, I think the taste of beef itself should be made stronger.

Had seen reviews of this place and thought I'd try for myself. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. Superb sushi and really tasty ramen soup, freshly prepared in front of you. Definitely worth stopping by

I am so glad I came to this place thanks to glorious reviews on Google! The place serves some amazing food. Intially I was a bit lost in the menu and then the chef came over to help. He showed a host of vegan / vegetarian stuff that I ended up having difficulty choosing! I went for avocado and dried tomato maki and vegetable gyoza. Then I went for a tofu katsu curry with rice. All the items were delicious, freshly prepared and well presented. I will be coming back for more!

Can't recommend enough, our new favourite sushi bar for authentic, delicious Japanese food! Amazingly quick service (just us there) & felt like we had a private chef who was kind enough to share his ample knowledge on the food. Dian is so friendly and knowledgeable. He's an expert and previously worked in the Harvey Nichols Yo Sushi for 10 years. He takes huge pride in sourcing only the best sushi fish and it shows in the food being fantastic! Food cooked freshly in front of you with Dian checking in on preferences. Great value too- thanks 😃

Amazing Pumpkin Katsu curry, really crispy and the sauce was amazing! Lots of other vegetarian options too so i was not strapped for choice. Lovely place to sit down for a nice quick meal in a vibrant environment. The staff serving me was extremely kind and welcoming as well! Will definitely be coming back.

The reviews are true! Delicious sushi and very quick and friendly customer service. Like being transported to Japan for a little while in the fantastic setting that is Leeds Kirkgate Market. A little off the beaten food path but worth finding!

Visited for the first time today and we will definitely be back. We had a selection of sushi and hot ramen dishes which were all fantastic. The chef/owner made everything fresh to our liking and made us feel very welcome. A very authentic experience.

Had a lovely first visit at Yummy Sushi. Dian is an excellent sushi chef and host for what sushi cuisine is supposed to be -- an experience complimented by delicious food. I noticed right away that Dian cared deeply about the quality of the food he was serving when he described to us how he sourced his ingredients. It's rare that I can find gunkan Ikura that's to my liking here, but I found it right away on the easy to follow menu. It tasted phenomenal! All dishes are made to order, so everything tastes very fresh. The tuna and salmon sashimi melted in my mouth. My friend ordered maki rolls that made me envious of her choices. All around a great place in the market to get fresh sushi that won't break the bank. We will be back for more!

Super fresh, Super tasty. I've never had sushi this good in my 49 years of existence. The guy buys 100% Japanese ingredients and I was lucky enough to also try the tempura soft shell crab today, an off menu item, yummy sushi 🍣😋

Gorgeous food and really friendly service. We always try and eat here when we are shopping in town. The soft-shell crab isn’t on the menu but they will do it for you if they have it and it is GORGEOUS!

I have been coming to yummy sushi bar for a VERY long time now and though I have done many posts on Instagram about the food and location I have never done a Google one.. (To stress I have been a regular since the location opened back in 2018) Let me just say this is THE best place for sushi and Japanese inspired small plates in Leeds hands down Everything is made fresh Infront of you out of a wide varied menu of both hot and cold dishes, There are selections for vegetarians and I do believe vegan options are also available should it be mentioned before ordering Each dish is neatly presented and plated to a high standard and the owner and chef is proud to talk you through where he sources ingredients and how he creates them. Pricing is very adequate and is a lot cheaper than your big chain sushi locations (no names mentioned) and honestly you are not losing any quality or taste for the smaller charge. If you are looking for Japanese food or are a sushi lover I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND stopping by Leeds market to come and visit and I assure you, you will leave impressed!

Honestly best sushi and noodles in leeds, the food is made right in front of you and it all taste amazing, I would defintly recommend this place and the furikake fries. 👍

This is the finest sushi bar in Leeds! The owner has a wealth of knowledge on every menu item he makes and is a charming conversationalist! Ignore the chain restaurants with their Westernised dishes, because there's no more authentic place than this!

Best sushi in Leeds and for a brilliant price. Popped in on my lunch break and tried the spicy tuna hand roll and a special soft shell crab tempura. The freshness of the ingredients was clear, and the owner seemed so passionate about the food he was serving. I’ll be going back for more as soon as I can.

If you are looking for a full flavour, fresh and made with love Japanese food look no further! This place is heaven for your taste buds. It is very rare you will find a place where food prepared with so much love, passion and dedication. Gentlemen really knows what he is doing and is very passionate about Japanese cuisine. I am shocked that someone managed to leave bad review for such a place, go eat mcdonald's then if you can not apreciate High-End cuisine.

Best sushi in leeds, served by a very friendly, knowledgeable guy. Just a counter in the market that you’d just as easily walk past. The chef prepares and talks you through everything right in front of you. All incredibly fresh, flavourful and authentic.

i can easily say the chicken curry the owner does here is one of the single most amazing foods i have ever eaten in my life

I had the duck hand roll which unfortunately wasn’t sliced duck breast as illustrated but rather diced dry duck similar to chinese aromatic pancake style - I didn’t feel this valued to £5 however on the bright side the owner was very accommodating to tell me what was in the hand roll and made sure my preferences were in order as to the salad filling after asking. Looking at other review images it seems others had sliced duck in the wraps, perhaps it was because it was a Saturday and I got the ends however I feel then it shouldn’t have been served (as there wasn’t hoisin sauce either due to them being busy - this however wasn’t an issue for me). The prawn curry bowl for some reason tasted a little sour (?) it was perhaps in the curry sauce, my partner also noted her ‘beef taryaki and rice’ (as spelt on menu) was sour too strangely and didn’t value £9 either leaving her disappointed. Their service was great and so accommodating, I just wish the food had reflected this at the time.

I had seafood ramen and it was lovely. ( I noticed it was less than half the price of the ramen bar on the Headrow). I am definitely coming back here.

This place is an absolute gem. Definitely some of the best food we've had in Leeds, and the owner is lovely! He helped us choose what we wanted and recommended some excellent specials (the soft shell crab was gorgeous). An unpretentious, authentic, rough & ready food stall for people that enjoy great simple food made by great real people.

Discovered this little hidden gem, thanks to reviews, just to the side hidden away near the main food court in kirkgate market. I have eaten at many sushi places, but I can honestly say this is the best sushi I have had for a very long time! It's been so difficult to find a good quality sushi place that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg! Of course there are so many other options if sushi isn't your thing.. including udon noodle soup, gyoza's, curry and much more! Would thoroughly recommend this place without a doubt, this is my new go to when in Leeds. The owner is so lovely and friendly too. If you're struggling to choose, he's more than happy to help you.

Having been recommended this place by a friend, I thought I'd check it out during my visit to the market. Initially would have just been a taster/light lunch, but ended up ordering quite a bit more as the food was so good! Would recommend to all and I will be visiting this place on a regular.

My partner and I found this place early this year and really love to come visit as a treat! Every time we go the owner is so lovely, welcoming and friendly. Giving us great suggestions and details of the food. The pricing is really great for the quality of the dishes and if you're looking for recommendations definitely go for the Veg gyozas and salmon selection.
