Yummy Open Kitchen in Barnsley

We have ordered food from this place for a while but tonight I thought I needed to leave a review Tom let people how good this takeaway is. We had quite a few of our family around and we ordered a selection of different starters and main courses. It came quicker than we anticipated but to be fair we were ravenous so it was a good thing! The duck and pancakes were so well cooked and presented along with the pancakes and accompanying additions. The mains were all exceptionally well cooked and our family were so impressed they all said they would be changing their Chinese takeaway supplier Just wanted to say a massive thanks for providing such amazing food for our family and emphasise how good the whole experience has been. Ordered at half 7... Said it was due to arrive in 40 minutes. 60 minutes later we tried to call the restaurant 15 times to see how long the food will be with no success. By this time we had been waiting nearly an hour and 20 for our food! Then our time changed to your food will arrive by 9:50! Another 45 minutes.... Safe to say I was royally annoyed by now and drove to the restaurant to ask how two dishes take 2 hours and 20 minutes to deliver 2 miles. You shouldn't be taking orders if your too busy to get the orders out... AVOID ....had what looked like a young 15 year old lad running the phones and service out front. Seriously take your business elsewhere I told them to bin my food just out of principal!

Manager is rude. Took them 2 1/2 hours and 4 phonecalls to start making my food after being told twice it was on the way. Avoid!

Shocking service very very late delivery no apology that was sincere . Will never use again . Lady who answered thought it was funny that my food was so late so condescending.

The food was excellent! I ordered the minimum for delivery and got free prawns crackers 😁 I’m a chef so I know what I was going to get but this was so much better than I thought I was going to get! Keep up the good work 😁😍

Great food from here all time had it delivered Monday night after getting back off holiday ordered at 8pm was told 40 mins was here in 30 great portions great value for money delivery drivers always friendly

My absolute favourite takeaway in Barnsley, without a doubt the best Chinese. We get food from here regularly and we are never disappointed! Really reasonably priced and friendly staff

I didn’t enjoy my meal however that may not be solely the restaurants fault but I have usually enjoyed this same selection elsewhere. The plain rice wasn’t very fluffy it was hard in some mouth fulls. The seeet and sour sauce was ok but diff from how I remember it before. The chicken in the balls wasnt real chicken it had a vey unusual after taste 😞

I wanted to order but the site said I had to order for at least £20 which is odd because I ordered for less many times before.

Late so phoned up twice No apology just told how far away it was beef in curry was inedible i work for fast food company and love yummys currys so hate complaining but 20 pound is a lot to waste nobody does sauce like these but the meat is questionable

Ordered at 7.45, original estimated time was 8.20. Was put back on email to 8.50. We phoned at 9.00 to be told ‘it’s still in the kitchen, you’re next out’. Phoned again at 9.15 to be told it’s on its way, the owner is bringing it. Finally arrived at 9.30, by which point none of us really wanted to eat it. Person delivering denied being owner. No offer of compensation for the delay, no extras by way of an apology. When I mentioned the possibility of a part refund I was told ‘the owner may give you discount on your next order!’ If they couldn’t cope they should have closed off the online system. I most certainly will never be ordering food from here again. Dreadful!

Very nice food and decent sized portions. Will definitely use again.

Arrived 30 minutes late and food was poor. Most of it was barely even warm. The appetizers were cold and hard. When I called to chase was told the usual "it's on its way", "5 minutes". Not good enough. Will not be using this place again. Seems to be when pre-paying by card they have already got their money so no bothered about customer service/satisfaction.

A friend ordered from here often and raved about how nice it was so thought we would give it a try very disappointed with our food it was cold, soggy and tasted as bad as it looked meat was chewy. Ordered the crispy duck which to my horror came still on the leg/bone and wasn't even crispy and dry,never had it like this with any other takeaway won't be ordering again.

Food cold and duck was burnt, absolutely disgusting . Tried to call to discuss but no answer.

Lovely food and good portion sizes. Only downside was delivery-initally quoted 8.20 but then restaurant added 25 minutes so all in all waited over an hour, they did however deliver 5 minutes early on the delayed delivery time

didn't taste nice, the pancake roll was just full of beansprouts, hardly any meat.

The food was lovely as always but we were concerned to find a piece of meat in our mixed vegetables with cashew nuts dish. Luckily my daughter saw it and so didn't put it in her mouth. She couldn't eat the rest of her meal though

I've ordered from here before and was really disappointed today the chips we're just warm and hard the curry sauce was not as spicy as normal and I didn't get my free prawn crackers

Food luke warm. Came 45 mins late. Said it was already delivered 40 mins ago! Delivery driver - bunch of kids. Won't order again.

We use this take away often, Delivery is always fast, food is always very nice, order is always accurate.

The food was terrible. The soup tasted like it had sugar in it, the curry was cold and bland.

Ordered for 9:30, delivery time changed to 10:00, order finally arrived at 10:39, no apology off driver. Food was warm at best. Won't be ordering again.

Was ok but a little disappointing. Used to order from here all the time but this is the first time for a few years, not sure if it's changed ownership but not as good as it used to be.

Although the food tasted delightful. I was unimpressed with the delivery time as it was 30 minutes late. In addition to this, whilst completing my order, I asked for no vegetables in a particular dish and vegetables were still present.

Took 2 hours to get here when it got here it was cold and then the order was wrong not what I ordered very dissapointed wouldn't recommend. Also had peas in the chips! What's that all about!

Pre order was 45 minutes late and arrived barely even luke warm. Prawns in the king prawn dish were not cleaned (not de-veined) so everything went straight in the bin. Takeaway offered a discount on my next order if I rang them directly - like I'm ordering from there again. Avoid like the plague!

Ordered from here before and it's been brilliant. However, yesterday, I ordered at around 7:15pm and was told that it would be delivered BY 8:10pm. I was still waiting for my food at around 9pm. When I phoned they said it was on the way. Food arrived and was quite frankly cold. The restaurant got it so bad yesterday I'm afraid.

We've ordered from here many times without complaint but today I was left disappointed. When my order arrived the curry sauce I ordered was replaced with gravy or at least I'm assuming it was gravy, it looked more like black tar. I rang up the takeaway to explain the mix up but the woman who answered didn't understand me and tried to take my order thinking I was ordering curry sauce! She eventually passed the phone over to a man who was very abrupt and said there was no mistake. His receipt said gravy and I should check my order and hung up. How rude! When I checked my order on just eat the receipt just said sauce so I was none the wiser about who was at fault so left it at that. I ate the food anyway but to be fair the curry sauce was my favourite bit so didn't really enjoy it. 45-50 minutes later there was a knock on the door and a delivery guy stood there with some curry sauce! What a absolute joke!

The only thing letting us down with our orders of late is the quality of the salt and pepper chips. They used to be wonderful but now always seem to be way too dry almost reheated.

Despite ordering for 7:30pm and it being confirmed for 8pm my order arrived at 7:05pm which was too early. If you're going to ignore the requested times don't ask for one!

Would never order from here again. 2 and a half hrs it took for my order to arrive! 1hr and a half later than just eat estimated arrival. Rang them to be told my order was just leaving. 45 minutes later still no food. Ridiculous.

The service was an absolute joke!!! Waited over 2 hours for delivery so i called the takeaway and i was told that my " order was being bagged up" before i even told them my address, they said it would be with me in 15 minutes at the most, i waited another 20 minutes and still no order arrived, i called back and cancelled the order, absolutely pathetic service

Despite the order taking around 2 hours to be delivered, the food was beautiful. I personally think that this restaraunt is the best chinese in the area. In the future, perhaps the restaraunt could phone to let customers know they are running late, rather than customers having to phone themselves. I will certainly be ordering from here again, but to pick up not deliver. Thankfully the food was well worth the wait.

Very, very poor service, waited an hour and half for meal to arrive and when it did it was very poor quality. Chips seemed to be re-heated and rice was burned.

So disappointing! We've been a customer and ordered weekly for almost 3 years & unfortunately due to this we'll be going else where. We waited almost 2 hours for our food. Had to ring twice to find out where it was. The app said our food had been delivered at 8:30, when it actually turned up at 9:20. Poor customer service too. It would have been quicker to drive to a takeaway in Leeds pick up some food and drive home in the time it took to fulfil this order!!

Curry tasted like washing up liquid

brilliant tasty food brill prices only issue really was over hour and half to came but that not a dissapointment

I have just thrown away the worst takeaway I have ever ordered on just eat. This is now the second time I have ordered early from this Chinese and the second time I have received last nights warmed up left overs. The first time I gave the benefit of the doubt and put it down to a bad day but this time showed me it really was just rewarded leftovers. If you want that then you might as well just order the night before and reward the following day in your microwave as this is clearly what happened. If your after early orders before 7pm I would say avoid these like the plague. Waste of good money.

I order regularly from yummys. Always hot. And great quality meal.. would highly recommend.
