Popped in for food, had the lasagne, it came with bread and rocket lettuce, The lasagne was overcooked and hard all around the edges, the bread was almost stale, hard and very dry and the lettuce looked dry and withered, disappointed tbh as I was told it was a good food place,

The experience was great. A pub my friend and I will definitely return to. The tables are spaced so that customers do not feel cramped.

Such a shame to see the Yorkshire Grey going back to its old ways. After months of good experiences, regular customers turned away this evening as they had ‘no chef’, so we were told. This was a common occurrence last year but had been turned around, so we thought. On the day they launch their new chef specials too. Very disapointing.

Kayleigh, and Nel are bloody amazing! Mine and my friends boys helped to the glasses inside and they were treated with free ice lollies! Will forever come here!x

Roast turkey tasted like it had been boiled. No flavour,wet and the slices were floppy and very soft. The roast potatoes had the texture of being reheated from the day before. I am not a fussy eater, but couldn't finish the whole meal. We have eaten there a few times and always enjoyed it so not sure why this meal was so unappealing.

Food is okay chips aren't fresh I know they don't advertise that it is fresh chips but it doesn't take much longer to make them fresh I ordered the steak have to order sauce separately wouldn't bother me if it was fresh sauce and not from a packet overall okay meal just needs some tweeking here and there the opening times on Google and on the greene king website state opening at 11:30 it didn't open until 12:00

We went because of the availability of gluten free food options as shown online. However we had 0 faith in the staff when they asked us if we wanted to add gluten containing options to our gluten free menu choices, didn't have most of the GF menu items available (or said they weren't sure if they were still gluten free as they had changed suppliers or some such) and couldn't tell us which beers were GF (even the ones marked as such).

My Stepson and his wife took me and my partner here on Father’s Day for a meal we got our drinks quite quickly but when we went to order firstly we are told there’s no mushroom dishes so we ordered just the main. Then after a little time we are told there’s no sirloin of bear then the waiting staff returned and said there’s no roast potatoes and it’s not even 3pm at this stage. So we all chose something else off the menu 3 of us ordered Chicken Schnitzel which was meant to be served with rosemary and sea salt skin on fries the cheese that’s meant to top the sauce on the schnitzel was missing and the fries were just fries no seasoning of any description. Luckily my stepsons wife enjoyed hers as it was a pie so very poor overall and running out of the component of a roast dinner before 3pm on a Sunday and especially Father’s Day, no desert ordered

Very friendly, helpful staff. Haven't been to Yorkshire grey for a long time, personal circumstances, but will certainly be going again. Just an idea though, make sure Bombay Sapphire available, and your special cocktails and the panecotta special, lol. Even though some first choices not available, still thoroughly enjoyable and good value for money. Other half impressed with gammon steak, which included egg and pineapple

Ordered pizzas for kids theybwere them chicago microwave pizza pie things The hunters chicken im Pretty sure was a ready meal over all wasnt a great meal the service was good n pub was clean And has a good pub garden but id probably stick to a drink rather than food next time

I’ve been going to this pub for quite some time now and like the atmosphere as it’s quite quiet. We visited the pub on Sunday and I was told by the server, a young lady that as there was a large group in, so food would take about 40 minutes. This wasn’t a problem so we sat in the garden and waited for the food. When it arrived, the chips were almost raw and I asked the young woman and young chap if we could have the chips cooked please. I wasn’t too bothered but the young female decided to take our plates away with the chips, leaving my wife and I eating our burger off a napkin, which was rude. Anyway, as I was waiting, I went up to the counter to get some cutlery as we had none and on doing, I mentioned that our burgers didn’t come with cheese and she said are you sure, twice! As if I was trying to get a couple of extra slices on the house. She then told me the chips were oven baked and not fried, I replied that I’m not bothered either way but I like the chips to be cooked. She repeated the fact that they were oven baked two more times and again I said I don’t care I just want chips that are cooked. She replied, you believe what you want to believe and childishly walked away. Now I know it was busy and not enough staff but that’s got nothing to do with me. Furthermore, I was actually speaking in a cheery tone so there was no need for the rudeness my family and received. I informed the manager and asked for a refund and will not be returning. I suppose the young woman was having a bad day but don’t we all and was not excuse for embarrassing behaviour.

We went as a group of 9 for Sunday lunch. Friendly greeting and taken straight to our table. Plenty of choice on the menu, we all chose a roast which was hot, plentiful and very tasty. Highly recommend

Had the halloumi Fries which were burnt and the asagne which was slop. Sticky tables and dull atmosphere. The staff tried their best but I wouldn't recommend.

This place have small portions to make money.Went to William IV in Baldock and food much better and proper portions.Ran out of most Sunday lunches .

The food here was fantastic. there was a large wait for the food and to be fair there were only a hand full of people there mostly drinking so not sure why it took so long to serve but it was very nice food

Had an absolutely amazing birthday dinner here. The food was lovely and the staff were amazing. Corrine, who served us, was welcoming and smiley and a real asset to this place. Everyone else was also just as wonderful.

Great Pub but sadly doesn't get given the time of day because of bad past owners. New people are lovely, everything is well priced and tastes good

Just popped into here with my partner and toddler for some food on our way into london! The lady and gent who was working was so accommodating and lovely! Food was absolutely beautiful and reasonably priced! Wish this place wasn’t so far away from home because I’d love to go back regularly just for the atmosphere and the staff! Considering even popping in on the way back!🥰

Traditional pub warm and friendly

My partner and I went for a meal on the first Friday in December. It was very busy with a couple of large table bookings. The staff were coped well under pressure. The service and food wqs excellent. Special thanks to Lindi who was in charge and was a true professional.

Decent enough for a quick drink, could do with some lighting out back.

We visited this establishment this afternoon as a party of 4 without a reservation. The place was empty on arrival apart from 2 people at a large table so there was ample seating to accommodate us. Despite this we were given a tiny table in the extension next to put style windows. You would of expected the heating to have been on being the 2nd half of November but no the radiator next to us was freezing. After the waitress ( redhead) took our order halfway through she rolled her eyes at a member of our party as if she was inconvenienced that we wanted food. After the food arrived we hardly managed to fit it all on the tiny table & they were hanging off the edge. We had no room for drinks because it was so cramped. Also the chips were not cooked whatsoever & some of the order was wrong although after calling out the chips were replaced with some that were cooked. After finishing the meal we decided against having desert because one of our party was obviously shivering so we went to pay the bill £102.03p one of our party complained to the rude waitress about the being given a tiny table when there was parties of 3-4 given tables triple the size of ours & there was still some tables that were still empty & much larger. The rude waitress put on a bizarre voice in response & bluntly said you should of asked to move! I felt disgusted & as if I was being discriminated against. If I could give no stars I would & will not be returning after such an awful experience!

Me and my friend booked a table at the Yorkshire Grey a few days ago after not being there for quite a few years. I'd already looked at the menu online and was impressed with the choice. We had a friendly welcome when we arrived and was shown to our table. Corrine came over to take our order, she was so friendly and chatty, took our order and returned later with our meals which we really enjoyed. Lovely place to go for lunch, thank you Corrine and your colleague (sorry I can't remember your name :( ) we will be back soon . Highly recommend

They put on a great Halloween party for the kids, were really attentive and the food was nice.

Went to the Yorkshire grey with my friend as haven’t been for ages. The pub is nicely furnished and clean. Staff are lovely and friendly and happily chatted to us. The food was cooked well and really well priced- lots of offers on throughout the week. We went on Thursday which is also the pub quizz night. Will definitely come again.

A most welcome feeling from the time we arrived.Corrine our lady who looked after us was amazing and so helpful we didn't feel hurried at all The lunch time meal was delicious and the service spot on. I adore this pub. It’s always been a favourite (mainly because of the food!). The staff are great and loyal. They’re always smiling and ready to serve. I highly recommend this pub! And I highly recommend their food!

My friend arrived slightly before I did and asked for a table, only to be refused, when I arrived I was offered a table. My friend was dressed more casually than I was. I believe this to be some kind of profiling. Woman behind the bar was rude and clearly had no customer service experience. Went to order the ice cream included in the deal I had paid for for my child, to be told it had to be ordered at the same time as the meal and they would not be providing it in the deal. I have paid the deal for price and not received the items. Our party was about to order another round of drinks and desserts but after the waitresses seemed not to care about the ice cream for my daughter, we decided to leave. For the past year we have been visiting this pub 1/2 times a month, ordering food each time and we will now not be returning due to the received.

Sunday roast, and gammon, all very nice and just the right size to leave room for a mini dessert. Atmosphere is leisurely and relaxed. Loads of space.

The staff didn't want a tip, but asked us to add a comment on here. The staff are very nice, the food is very nice, ( they didn't have the mushroom pie ) that was a shame. Please go there the menu is very good.

Nice staff, good food, but a table right near the bar had some people who were loudly using the f word, despite children around, with no intervention from pub staff. Not impressed

Absolutely rude lady as soon as she saw 4 Indians walking in. Rude, abrupt, attitude, no smile, no thanks after taking our money, rude and unpleasant face. Just didn't want to serve us. Appalling service in this day and age. Used to be regular customers spending over £100 per week. We walked out after one drink and went elsewhere. Pubs lose. Everyone I know will know about this place

We came here today for a pub lunch with our residents from Potton view care home. The staff were here very helpful and the food and service was amazing. Thankyou so much for having us we will be back again soon. 😀😀

loud music, kids running the place with no training or clue, basic manners/etiquette poor, bar staff slow (cba to order another drink and wait) not upto usual greene king standard. Salad didnt have all ingredients on menu.

It was my sons 18th birthday and we come from Birmingham but have family in Biggleswade been to u b4 for a meal so wanted to come back food was really nice and it was hot, Daniel who served us and done everything when he was on his own was really good would come back again.

Oh dear. Overgrown, litter strewn garden with just 2 sad broken brollies, some broken furniture and barely any staff. Lots of waiting and complaining about how slow the service was at the bar. And the bar persons who were there, were just about there in body, no energy, no drive. All very tired and lacklustre. What a shame.

I am a picky eater, asked if I could have a mix of items. They checked with kitchen and no problem. Thankfully my friend isn't and he had fish and chips. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Great atmosphere, staff were great and the time spent chatting with them was brilliant, great sense of humour. Thank you Corrine, Toy boy Dan and Chantelle. He enjoyed the wee cake as well. X We will be back.

Delicious Beef ale pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. Great menu and very friendly service. Playground was a plus for the kids!

Long wait for food, even though it was quiet

Appalling service! Arrived and order was taken. Drinks arrived in a matter of minutes. After nearly an hour of waiting for our food and seeing the lady who took our order deliver food to tables seated after us I asked where our food was to be told that she had forgotten to put it through to the kitchen and it would be a further 20-25 minutes. She made eye contact several times while taking new customers orders and did not even think “ where is their food”. We also over head the table seated 20 minutes after us being told “roast beef” had finished which is what I ordered so I’m unsure how I’d even have gotten my food if I’d waited a further 25 minutes. Disgraceful and I will never return. Their place wasn’t even busy so there is no excuse. No warranted apology!!!

It's not very warm, my Mum was very cold and ate for dinner with her coat on. Some meals on the menu were unavailable but what we ordered was lively and very tasty. Good value.

Had Sunday lunch here and wow the food was cooked to perfection. Presentation perfect . Was with my friend who is a qualified chef. And we both commented on how good the food was. The service was polite but a little slow it was the only let down. Considering that at the time the restaurant was not full. In the end we had to get up and find staff in order to pay our bill. However would definitely return for the amazing food thank you .

There appeared to be only one waitress, covering at least 10 tables, who was very good. Our food, when it finally came, was not hot and I counted 7 pieces of chicken in my chicken tikka. This visit was certainly not as good as last time.

Very mixed visit here. While it was not bad for the prices and the food arrived quickly enough, the little things they could improve on would really help. My mum went to use the disabled loo and couldn't lock the door - when enquired about it was told to pull really hard the door and then it would lock - not everybody can do that nevermind on a disabled loo door! Some menu items not available though there is a good menu selection overall. Battered fish was super tasteless but the chips were really lovely as was the pudding for both of us though when I asked if I could get an extra scoop of ice cream was met with a 'what?' and very confused look by a waitress who had coughed the whole way through our visit poor girl, not the most pleasant for her or us I'm sure They did take the coffee off the bill which was too strong for me as had asked for extra weak (issue with the machine I think) I read further below that it's under new management so perhaps worth another visit in a few months to see how it's going as definitely some plus points and I am sure they will want to do their best. Also handy place for lunch as quite near the shopping areas 2 min drive down the same road.
