We had our dog, so ate in the bar area. Nice service and the food was good

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends and my dog and the staff were so friendly and helpful and even gave my dog some treats. The food was good and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend coming along although booking would be wise if you wish to sit in the restaurant. I was happy at a table in the bar area.

Popped in with the children, we all enjoyed our meal. Atmosphere was cosy with the fire place on and staff were lovely. Will definitely pop by again.

Me, my partner and the children enjoy coming to The Blackbirds, especially in nice weather so the girls can play on the play area outside. I was looking for a quiet place to enjoy lunch with my daughter. We found the blackbird. The bar lady, Faye was brilliant. I remember going up to order when the ground beneath us suddenly trembled. I looked around in confusion, but before I could make sense of it, the door to the pub burst open. A gust of icy wind rushed in, and a dark figure appeared in the doorway—towering, with glowing red eyes and a wicked, otherworldly aura. I was wondering what the hell had gone on. Faye’s eyes hardened. She didn’t flinch. "A demon overlord," she said, drawing a gleaming silver dagger from beneath the counter. Apparently it had come from a portal in the cellar. The demon, sneering and growling, took a step toward us. Its form was like a shadow, its eyes filled with a fiery rage. "Who dares enter my realm?" it thundered. Faye raised her voice - "Hey, you oversized nightmare! You really think you can just waltz in here and ruin lunchtime?" The demon growled and stepped forward, clearly not impressed by her bravado. "You mock me, mortal?" it snarled. Faye, unfazed by the demon's taunts, began sprinkling salt around the bar and muttering incantations under her breath. The air around her shimmered, and I could see that her preparation was working—the demon’s strength was slowly fading. "Keep it talking!" Faye called out to me. "It needs to stay distracted long enough for me to finish the ritual!" I glanced at the demon, then back at Faye, trying to think of something else to say. "So, uh... I don’t know about you, but lunch here is amazing. You should try the Cheese and Bacon burger. I gestured to the plates of food coming out from the kitchen, the smells wafting over the bar. "It’s juicy, perfectly cooked... and the fries are crispy!" The demon let out an unholy screech, clearly unnerved by the mention of fries. "Enough!" it howled, raising its claws to strike. Just as the demon lunged, Faye threw the silver dagger with pinpoint precision. It flew through the air and struck the demon in the heart. The creature let out a final screech as dark energy crackled around it, then with a burst of smoke, it vanished into nothingness. Faye shrugged casually, as if demon-slaying was just another day at work. She wiped her hands on a towel and returned to the counter, pouring me a drink. The food came out shortly after. I had a Cheese and Bacon Burger and my Daughter had a Butter Checken Burger. Everything was really nice. When we left, I realised the Blackbird Pub would always have your back with great food and a hero behind the bar. I am still in awe of the demon-slaying bar lady and the incredible meal. "Definitely. A review sounds like the least I can do." A true 5 stars and Thanks for everything!!!

Amazing atmosphere, great staff and incredible value for money

Would of stayed for a few more beers if I didn't have the bar staff have a row with her dad next to me, boring pub, expensive beer. Maybe manners wouldn't go a miss.

We had a lovely meal at The Blackbirds recently. Big family gathering, the staff were so patient with us, food was great, the atmosphere was relaxing, we all had a brilliant time. Thank you. We'll definitely be back soon.

Was a regular here because I absolutely loved the atmosphere, staff and food but tonight was the last time. We booked as usual at 5pm. When we arrived we found we had been seated next to a drunken hyena-level cackling band of women. I understand enjoying yourself but when the noise volume and high pitched screeching and inappropriate behaviour was too much to stand. We asked if we could switch tables but there wasn’t none. Was offered a seat outside in the pitch black and drizzle 🙄 Instead of them asking the rabble to please quieten down as they passed the wine bottle around each other to drink out of, blackbirds obviously preferred losing the sales that me and my friends put in of full courses and cocktails. We had no choice but to leave as it was too overwhelming and headache inducing.

Unfortunately due to a very loud obnoxious group of ladies at one of the tables we were unable to stay for our meal today. When I approached a member of staff about this she offered to ask the group to be quieter however I declined this as it appeared no support was offered to the staff member by management or additional staff, and I felt the situation would escalate. My friend who was with me has autism and auditory processing issues and this was not taken into consideration by the blackbirds team in a correct manner, we planned to order a full set of courses and drinks to add to our experience, however this was not possible due to the at from the horrible behaviour displayed by these other individuals. In the future I would recommend that more thought should go into behaviour that is inappropriate like this from the customers and better support offered to other customers trying to have a enjoyable experience at the pub setting.

Just not enough staff on, two of our group had the Pensioner Christmas Meal it came out 10 minutes after we had finished our main meal, my husband just left it he had gone past it, he just got up & left.

Had meal in Blackbirds, Flitwick on Tuesday evening. Food was lovely. Ali took our order at the bar, As always she was friendly and welcoming along with the rest of the team. We have visited many times since moving to Flitwick. Pub has a friendly atmosphere, food is good and staff are lovely.

Extremely slow service today and was not that busy. The soup could have been hotter, food ok but pudding was lovely. In no rush to serve us today and won't he returning. This happened last time we came so this is the final time now.

The food took an hour to arrive but, as ever in these cases, the communication was inadequate. When we enquired after an hour we were told that customers that day were informed of a 45 minute wait when ordering. We were not.

being a super local resident, visit at least once a month often take family and friends over never really had bad service. Bar team are for the most friendly

Great pub with exceptional value, especially if you want to eat. I take the family here often, and I’m always blown away by the service and food. They do all of this for a fraction of the cost when compared with the overpriced pubs in Ampthill (WhiteHart take note). Recommend to anyone.

Good pub with typical pub food. While we were there, there were 2 different football teams, and while it took a while to get our food, the staff did a great job with the large amount of people they had to accommodate. My children loved the small play area and the outside tables are well maintained. Definitely enjoyed our time and will be sure to visit again.

Went for a bday celebration and had a great night. Food and service was good.

Lovely spot for a well priced and great portioned Sunday roast! All of us had a roast, one beef, one turkey and two duos - a bit of each - delicious. The beef was cooked to perfection, turkey was succulent and juicy. The cauliflower cheese is fabulous - I wish I could cook it like that at home! The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the stuffing was great too. The young lady who served us at the bar (Lauren maybe) was helpful and polite, whilst warm and welcoming. She was knowledgable about the drink selection and nothing seemed too much trouble. The price point here is really great, for such a large meal. Yes you can get a cheaper roast elsewhere but it won't be as tasty. The chap who brought the food out to us (didn't catch his name but he had a beard and glasses) was very attentive, asked if we needed anything else and came back to check everything was to our liking. We were so full after the meal that we had to share desserts - they sounded too good to pass up! A delightful crumble with ice cream and a moist chocolate brownie with ice cream - scrummy. We can't wait to return to our new discovery and sample more of the menu - although it was mentioned they have a new menu coming soon which we're looking forward to trying. It was very busy on Sunday afternoon when we visited but the atmosphere was really lovely and staff couldn't do more to help us. Thank you to everyone at The Blackbirds who made our visit five star!

Absolute gem of a pub. They had live music on Friday and it was a bustling and positive atmosphere. Great food at affordable prices. The staff are warm and welcoming and give great service. The pub itself is always clean and tidy and we’re looking forward to warmer weather so we sit in the lovely garden!

Great pub, great atmosphere. We came in on a Sunday, last minute and the staff were very accommodating with our pram, Ally in particular was amazing with the kids. Food was great value for money and staff were really friendly.

It’s ok as far as a village pub goes just not much room to manoeuvre. Staff seem friendly (to locals.) not the best not the worst, you won’t leave feeling drunk or happy with the prices. At least there isn’t WE40 all over the toilets though to stop the old Hollywood cold warm up.

Ryan and Ally were very friendly and attentive. The food as always was incredible, previously had a roast which is well worth a try. Today I tried the stake and ale pie which was very scrumptious.

I like coming into this pub for a meal. The relaxing atmosphere I here allows me time to chill and read a book. The food is delicious (especially the Halloumi fries!!). Would recommend for met ups with friends, family or even by yourself. Until next visit.

Stopped here for our dinner by chance. The food was lovely, tasty and hot. As for the staff you could't wish for a more friendly bunch of people. A shame the pub is a 2 hour drive from home or it would definitely be our local.

Had the beef burger with bacon, pulled pork and some cheesy garlic bread. Food was perfect. Closest I’ve had to a spiritual awakening - absolutely loved it. The food came out very quickly, and tasted even more rewarding than a yearly pay raise. Lauren was really helpful and friendly behind the bar. Ally gave 10/10 customer service (arguably the best I’ve had in years) and made the trip 100% worthwhile. Would come back again in a heartbeat!

Ally, Nikki and Jake all have us wonderful service, couldn't do enough for us. Lunch was delicious and an absolute bargain! Will definitely be back and especially in summer to enjoy that pretty outdoor area

Lovely food and drink but a little bit expensive for drinks and service could be better, young staff and didn't seem to want to be working.

We.popped in for a spot of lunch on our way through. The pub is nice, the bar staff friendly. The food however, couldn't have been more bland. 3 small plates of disappointment, and an overcooked burger that had no seasoning, was missing the mayo and had the saddest amount of salad. The tastiest morsel on the table was the sausage we bought for the dog. Edited to add: by the time Sam came back to check if the food was ok, we'd eaten half of it. It's also hard to complain about food that isn't really wrong, but also isn't really right either. We chose your pub for a quick lunch as the reviews for the food (especially the burgers) were good. So if my review saves someone from a disappointing meal, then my work is done.

A crowd of us called in there last friday and had a very pleasant evening sat in the garden.

Staff were brilliant last night from 7:30 onwards big thanks to them for trying their best to keep up with our drinks orders prices were good for drinks and garden was nicely spaced for all of us to sit and chill in as well would recommend

Average visit... cheap cocktails and alright garden with heat lamps.. however my friends portions of chips was mouse sized and my burger was nothing special... just stick to the long island ice teas all night and thank me later 😂

What a hidden gem! Came here for the first time, had the most amazing tasty burger I have ever had and I am really fussy with burgers. Staff are lovely and helpful. Will definitely be back.

Popped down on a Sunday evening and was informed of a delay, I honestly didn't even notice the delay if it was even the full 30 minutes. To be honest i would expect some time for the food to come out anyways so i was pretty happy to wait and i was glad i did. The we ordered two steaks, a rump and a sirloin, with two sides. The steaks were cooked to perfection medium - rare and although they were busy the service from the staff the quality of the food was banging! A lovely experience and we definitely return in a week or two.

Quite disappointing. Service was really slow, waited a long time for our orders to be taken. The portion of scampi and chips would have been fine for a child definitely not for an adult. Plus side the pub was warm.

Good pub food at reasonable prices. Very helpful staff. A range of real ales with a discount for CAMRA members. Handy for public transport, with a bus stop outside and Flitwick station 10 minutes walk away.

We always try to come along to the Monday night quiz whenever we can and frequently eat at the blackbirds, who are dog friendly which is brilliant. Ryan does a great job of running the quizzes and we can't say enough good things about him in general, he is friendly and helpful and we always have a good laugh 🙂

We have been in for food several times, always been great and this one time (at band camp 🤣) we got coerced into taking part in the charity quiz by Ryan. We come now every week most weeks eating as well. What a credit he is to not only the blackbirds but Greene king! Fantastic customer service nothing is too much bother for him and the quizzes are so much fun. Great guy don’t lose him!
