I visited this place with my mum as soon as we got in there the man sat us down and asked us what would we like to drink we ordered tap water it was a simple drink but somehow took 35 minutes my order had already came out with my food and my drink still wasn’t here. I was very disappointed by this as tapwater is really simple to just get out of a jug while making a Katsu curry is 10 times harder while eating my meal, I look over into the kitchen as you were sitting facing the kitchen. You could see that rice just everywhere not even in where it supposed to be there was cross contamination while the chefs were using the same spoon the curry sauce and loads of different other sauces While all of the utensils they were using were dirty and you could tell they never wash the hands and they did not wear gloves at all which they should take more pride while customers can see what they are doing the man finally came with our drinks then Me and my mum ordered a California roll my mum did not know what a California roll look like so we asked the man if he could just get it straight from the kitchen instead of the conveyor belt the man then began to roll his eyes and take our order for a California Roll We were really disappointed by this behaviour as a paying customer should be treated nicely after me and my mum paid which the total came up to £50 we were quite disappointed about how we had only ordered Edamame beans a crispy roll some teriyaki sticks and mini katsu curry and a couple of drinks and some mini moons the price was appalling and the staff were rude . None of them came to check up on us especially if when we wanted more drinks we had to go over and ask ourselves. They didn’t check how our food was. They didn’t ask if we wanted anything else, we thought how they were treating us was appalling very very disappointed!

My daughter and I visited on Saturday, we waited for a table and then was sat down. Immediately I could tell the place was absolutely filthy. The floors were sticky, the sides of the table was sticky, the menus filthy. We ordered drinks and a couple of dishes off the menu to get us started. The dishes arrived and no drinks still. Whilst sat watching the kitchen I noticed the sides were unclean and the staff were using the same clothes across all stations with no cleaning spray or even rinsing. The kitchen equipment was filthy and the staff didn’t wash their hands once. They have absolutely no pride in their work what so ever and I would go as far to say they just did not care at all. They were also massively understaffed and the service was poor. I will never return to this restaurant.

We were there for Bottomless Thursday. Very tasty food, lots of choice and also some vegan and vegetarian options. All staff members were really nice and the service was great! Big shoutout to Bart, the excellent chef who made lots of extra vegan plates for me, you are awesome!!!🍱

What a disappointment, leaning towards angry/annoyed. Staff didn't even know their own menu. I asked what happened to "Soft Shell Crab hand rolls" they used to do. But the waiter pointed me to the "crabstick sushi" which for any educated person is just an embarrassment, but he was serious. Ordered Ramen, which after 15mins still wasn't ready. So I asked one of the staff who was mopping the floor at the time. He said it is coming. Then to my surprise he shoved the cleaning equipment to one side and grabbed a hand ful of noodles with his bare hands and started cooking (not washed his hands after mopping by the way). I knew what was coming so I waited until he served me the noodles to then say I watched him the entire time. He didn't even deny it and just took it away without an apology. Other kitchen stuff saw and heard but didn't even try to apologise or make up for it. Also noticed, the taps for drinking water are missing, also the service button that used to light up the sticks in front of you which played a voice in japanese asking for service! What's happened to this company?

So shocked on how poor it’s was, we ordered some food, we sat around the kitchen and watch them cleaning with sprays and chemicals all next to the open food no gloves, cleaned all the sides done never washed their hands and started preparing our food no gloves putting fingers and hands in the noodles and rice and doing everything by hand, we refused the dishes and left, won’t be coming back

Very disappointed. My very first experience with yo sushi was at Luton Airport and we've loved it. Variety of sushi, plus friendly staff encouraged us to visit our local brunch in Milton Keynes. Friday evening was literally no sushi but the avocado ones. Staff not too friendly, mostly they're are focused on take aways. Definitely overpriced, I have spent over 90 quid and afterwards we've went to Nandos because we're hungry. Portions are like for children if you order regular one, especially noodles. Very, very disappointed as we know different restaurants can provide you brilliant service and hell variety of sushi. Definitely not coming back.

Ok experience. We were seated quickly however nothing was explained to us. We then had to get up and ask for several things.. first drinks, then cutlery (for younger diners) then chopsticks then napkins. Something I didn’t like at all was that from where we sat, we had frequent views of the ‘dustbin room’ which is a really off putting sight when you’re eating. Not sure I’d return.

The food was overpriced but ok. Unfortunately the service is dire. You will barely be acknowledged at the door. If you are lucky they will seat you within 20 minutes and act like your presence inconveniences them. Another 20 minutes to get any drinks. The conveyer was pretty bare when we arrived. Ordered food arrived quickly. It is clear that yo sushi does not want to have restaurants, and would rather be a delivery only service. I think it is a matter of time until this place closes, like the rest of their sites.

Not happy they added 20% ‘service charge’ to the bill! What service? The first guy who seated us wasn’t welcoming at all. Didn’t smile, spoke too fast and sounded very gruff, couldn’t understand him. After waiting 10 mins, a different guy took an order from the first person in our group and then walked off ( we tried to get the staff attention to order for rest of us but gave up), so we had a couple dishes from the conveyor belt. Finally got another staff member attention and ordered a couple bits. At this point I was fed up as two of us had eaten some bits and one was waiting for their order. My daughter said at least when it was order by app it was easier. Shame they do not still have that system. Appalling to be charged 20% service charge without being made aware before ordering or being seated. Dirty dishes from other people left for ages, not cleared away. Food was ok, but overpriced for such small bowls. Not easy to identify what is actually in the bowl until you try it. Sadly one of us was poorly the rest of the weekend. Will not go again. Not impressed at all.

We visited this evening with 2 young children whilst 2 members of our family were taking part in a sushi making class, it was an absolute delight. The lady that served us was one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had, friendly, cheerful and very helpful. The food was good but the service excellent. One of the children asked us if if they could have some water, she heard and the water appeared.

We visited for lunch and it busy so had to wait for a table for around 10 minutes. We were asked if we had any allergies and if we had visited a Yo! before which we have. Ordered our food on the app and it was very slow service. Food didn’t come out together which was disappointing. When we’ve visited other branches we have been given water without being asked or asked if we wanted some. We had to ask here and it seemed like an issue. Beef Teriyaki was tough and some of the meet was inedible which was a shame as it’s usually one of our favourite dishes. Will go back to Yo! in the future but maybe not the one in Milton Keynes.

When we arrived the place was busy but they could a space for us at the bar. We did struggle with the online ordering system but the colleague was most helpful and took our order. The food arrived and was fresh and lovely on taste including the Christmas items we ordered. will be going again next time.

I’ve never been to YO before, but I don’t think I will be rushing back again any time soon. The man who was wiping down the tables and seeing us to our seats was then in front of us cooking food. The other chef was throwing food around left right and centre.(thankfully we have no allergies- if you do this is not the place for you!) We had a few bowls of food launched over the counter towards us after we ordered. The state of the fingers of the chef was not great. Least the other guy was wearing gloves! The food was ok but nothing amazing. Prices were average for location.

The food was fine, but very overpriced for what it was. It was also disappointing to see that the draught asahi had been removed. The main issue during our visit was the service though. We walked past earlier in the day, and seeing that it was busy, we decided to book a table for a bit later. We turned up 10 minutes early and there were three groups of people in front of us, so figured this would be fine. It was 15 minutes after our booking time by the time we were seated, during which the other groups of people (none of whom had bookings) were seated very slowly, despite there being plenty of empty tables that had not been cleared. A couple of staff were sorting drinks and taking payments, and only one man seemed to come anywhere near the main desk, and seemed to avoid eye contact at all costs when he did. There were no checks to see if anyone in the queue had a booking for a set time (and there were quite a few people behind us by the time we'd been stood there for 25 minutes, with a few who clearly did), and rather were no apologies for the wait, even when we finally managed to be served and they couldn't see our booking at first, so we had to point out that the time had already passed. It was just really poor customer service and the food we got, whilst nice enough, was not enough to make the experience worth the amount of money we spent.

Food was ok but expensive. The food goes round on a conveyor belt but it is not labelled so you have no idea what it is unless you try and look at the photos on the menu. There was only one waiter working so impossible to attract his attention when needed. The bill doesn’t get printed out so you cannot see what you’re paying for. Pretty sure I was over charged.

I have always always loved Yo Sushi! The closest to us is in Nottingham and it's a pleasure to eat there. I brought my son to MK and we decided to eat some sushi in To.I have to say I found it frustrating: you have to pay upfront before you had anything to eat. Then they don't accept cash. Then we had to wait for the sticks and to ask to bring ginger... The conveyer has been banned and it's no fun for my son anymore. And it's expensive. Better head to Olive tree, where you get an excellent service and a value for money.

I have always always loved Yo Sushi!In fact it’s my favourite food!But I have to say I am finding it frustrating to eat there these days!I seem to spend more time looking at the phone scrolling down looking for the food and then worrying am I going to get it off the belt before it moves on than enjoying the food and company of the person I’m with!You have to be constantly looking at the belt when eating to see if your next order is coming and yesterday we nearly missed the food as we were actually enjoying talking to the baby we took with us! The app took ages to get going with not great signal and to be honest I found the whole experience rather frustrating

We went for lunch today (10/12/2020) and the lady was cutting a whole salmon less than a metre away from our table with no screen- she had no gloves on and then went to pick her phone up (which was on the side by the fish) placed it back down again and touched the whole fish without washing her hands.The menu is really reduced.Not a great YO experience

Service can be hit and miss, depending on where you sit you can get pretty much ignored and other times its absolutely fine, this could be down to whoevers on the floor serving at the time. I think when it runs more efficiently more seasoned servers are on the floor.It's a shame theres this uncertainty as it really puts off us wanting to go (when we would love to come more often if it was more consistent service).The last time we went we were taken to our seat and told someone would be over to take our drinks but no one ever did so we left after a 15-20 minute wait and we were only acknowledged as we got up to leave. Bear in mind the place was not busy (which we'd give a lot more understanding and patience for, but we usually find if we don't get served in a reasonable time its going to be one of those slow service days and are better off going somewhere else). Time before that was absolutely fine, no issues whatsoever, and the time before that was another slow day. Please sort out your service Yo sushi! We love the product and would love to come more but the service is inconsistent. Maybe youre new starter training is lacking something? If its a issue with servers not clocking people ready to order, worsened with the removal of the order buttons, maybe implement something more COVID friendly like paper fans/signs? (something that is single use and easy to see?)

Food ok but given there's very little cooking involved that's not too surprising. Biggest problem here is that the staff don't appear to want to work together as a cohesive team & therefore it falls down badly.The lady on the door is trying to keep the queue to a minimum by asking, repeatedly, for the waiting staff to clear tables however, the waiting staff simply ignored her & went about doing whatever they wanted to. We were seated near the cooking area & the waiting staff were continually witnessed arguing with the cooking staff regarding what had been ordered, what had been cooked and what had been served....quite simply, shambolic. We had ordered a number of dishes but one dish never arrived (Korean Chicken), one of the waiting staff said she'd 'chase it up' but it never arrived so it had to be taken off the bill....not once did anybody apologise for this failing.If this shambolic approach to work is extended to their Covid-19 precautions, it is very difficult to have much confidence in their ability to maintain a safe environment.Not recommended.

A great experience despite challenges we are all facing from COVID-19.Restaurant was cleaned thoroughly and our eating space was given an extra clean between customers.Signs at entrance clear about what you need to do and how changes worked.Menu is different as is experience (no conveyor belt) but for obvious reasons. Staff great and food delivering time as great as normal.Menu is limited (would like to see Beef Teriyaki back) -but understandable why.

After previous bad experiences, thought would give Yo Sushi one more chance using the Gov £10 scheme. 20-30 min queue to get in, fish and avocado MIA in the sushi, some dishes didn't arrive at all. We were sat at the conveyor belt and can confirm the chefs are experts at opening cellophane packets - not sure about cooking skills, not enough evidence. Edamame served straight from the fridge, no heating involved - would mess with the icy crunch you get eating cold beans covered in salt.

I've eaten in this Yo! more times than I can remember, although rarely during peak/weekend times. I always pop in when I'm on my own as it's an easy place to eat solo ad the belt, and because I love sushi. If you've not tried sushi/japanese food before you'll find this a novelty with the belt and the buttons for attention. If you're a sushi aficionado then you'll likely find it average just because the choice isn't there. I rarely eat the hot food and stick to the maki, ISO rolls, sashimi and salads and the fish is always fresh and everything tastes as you'd expect it to. I always order a salmon and avocado hand roll and that's always great - made fresh and the nori is cripsy. Service is always good, some long serving members of staff who are always friendly and chatty. My only gripe with Yo is not with this restaurant but that the chain as a whole seems to be starting to cater moreso to the masses, with less raw fish dishes and more cooked/european fusion dishes. I personally miss the mixed tuna and salmon maki and the more unusual types of sashimi. All of that said I'll definitely be back many more times because it's easy and tasty.

I popped into Yo at the weekend around 6.30pm. I asked to be seated away from the crowd and was placed next to a phone zombie wannabe kardashian kid who regularly threw me filthy glares. (That's not Yo's fault but it seems to be the sorry state of social affairs these days). The place smelled of burning pans and grease when I went in. I waited for the staff member who seated me to ask me about my choice of drink but I was left to just sit there without any. I also wanted to order off the hot menu which needs assistance. I went to take the inari dish from the belt but I was confused at the menu picture compared to what they were banging out on the belt. It was nothing like the menu description and looked like pink goo with lumps and no garnishes. I was still waiting to be served but the woman that saw me sit down just carried on cleaning. After waiting a good 10 minutes I decided to just leave without eating anything. It smelled horrible in there anyway.

Came her with my boyfriend to enjoy some vegan sushi after a recommendation from someone who mentioned there was a great vegan menu and also a discount on for January. After enjoying our food we asked for the bill and I asked if there wasn’t an offer on for January. Waitress said no and explained that there only was an offer on some dishes on Wednesdays. We were visiting on a Thursday. I hap no option but to accept this and pay. After the waitress left the table I started wondering why someone would say there was an offer on and I looked this up online. One of the first pages I found was the Yo! Sushi website telling me about the January offer which was currently on, and which was the one I had heard about. I asked another waitress about it and she had some form of explanation saying it wasn’t supposed to be there, but since I’d seen it I could get it anyway. She went to fix this but came back to tell me if I paid already she could unfortunately not fix it. That’s definitely rubbish and a stupid excuse. No till system has ever not come with a “refund” option or some way to deal with this. Will not be returning to Yo! Sushi. Food was good, but not good enough for me to accept this.

Didn’t get a chance to eat the food unfortunately so this review is based solely on the hospitality. From the moment we walked in as a family we instantly felt unwelcome. Ushered by staff that could barely speak English (or perhaps couldn’t be bothered to speak English) to stand in the corner and wait for a table/seat to come available. Oddly enough lots of seats and chairs were available but there were stacks and stacks of plates everywhere along with other mess. Obviously a busy day and perhaps being short staffed (just an assumption) would explain why it was such a pig sty. Still no excuse for the lack of enthusiasm towards paying customers rather than the “oh ok come in and eat if you must approach”. In an area where so many other eateries are available and as the food isn’t that special any way (based on other yo sushi visits) surely it would be a good idea to be as welcoming as possible. Waited 10 minutes then decided actually if it’s this unorganised to I really want to eat their food ? Decided to go elsewhere and had a lovely meal less than 100yds away in Carluccios

Visited just before 3pm on a Sunday. After walking in and standing by the wait to be seated sign, I watched the 3 people behind the desk I was stood next to do everything apart from acknowledge me. A waitress then walked up from the restaurant with a smile and said an enthusiastic hello, I replied hello but she walked past me and was saying hello to two people stood behind me who she recognised! Again no acknowledgement at all, I then remembered I must have left my Cloak of Invisibility on! However me saying hello must have at least startled her? Apparently not. I stood there a little longer and then walked out.

The food was fine, however, the experience was ruined by rude staff members. When we arrived I stated I needed a table for 5 plus a baby high chair. Waited 15 mins for a table, we got there I asked for the high chair, you can’t have one at this table, not an offer to swap to another, just walked off and I sat for a meal holding a 10 month old so couldn’t really eat. I asked about student discount and the waiter just said not today love and walked off, no explanation. Just rude and unfriendly, ruined the whole experience.

Attended a super sushi making workshop this morning and it was great fun! Connor, our mentor was clear and concise with his instructions and we learnt the art of making 6 different items. This workshop is for over 16’s and is a thoroughly enjoyable experience with an incredible amount of sushi at the end to take home and eat! Highly recommended!!

This is an ok version of a Yo! Sushi outlet. The biggest problem is that it's stymied by the size of the building. On a weekend you're are always guaranteed a wait (10 mins or so) to get seats next to each other or a booth.

Visited here as staying nearby, On a positive note there was a lot of food on the belt, however to order food we waited so long when pressing the button that it turned itself off twice. This happened on two occasions. The food was tasty when it came just the service that let it down. When we ordered desert one came with a hair in it- when I showed it to the server she did I apologise and took it off the bill, as a way of apology she gave us one in a box to take home, unfortunately I didn’t fancy eating it at this point but nice gesture.

Walked in at 8pm, to a manager who wouldn't acknowledge me. after 4 minutes of awkward silence, I asked him if I could have a table, he replied "you realise we close the kitchen in 30 mins" to which I replied "yes". He pointed me over to the other side of the restaurant and said sit over there. Walked myself past countless filthy stations. Ended up turning around and walking out.

10am at Yo sushi in Milton Keynes my wife and I turned up along with 10 or so other budding sushi chefs in the making. We were given glasses so we could help ourselves to still or sparkling water from the taps at each counter which was also lovely although once we had our gloves on and a little oil to stop the rice sticking, picking up a glass wasn't necessarily the easiest thing. The next 2 hours would turn us from sushi eaters to competent sushi makers in a great environment. Split across 3 tables in the restaurant we were handed sushi mats (which were ours to keep) along with various other ingredients we would use along the way. Making a combination of Maki, Nigiri, Futomaki and other delights too. Our host for the morning had been a chef with Yo for sometime and gave us some background information and lots of helpful tips along the way. Most of what was made was veggie with cucumber, carrot, lots of amazing avocado and Inari (sweet delicious amazing tofu) but there was a small bit of salmon for the Nigiri (bed of rice with a topping) and then crab for one of the rolls too. My wife and I aren't crab people and they were awesome at catering for that and said we could use any of the other bits to make our own designer rolls.

Came here on a whim one evening for dinner and oh my god was I blown away. The food options were not just what was on the conveyor in front of you (which by the way is an amazing idea) which is what put me off going for so long, but the array of hot food options and extras you can order is incredible. It was so difficult to decide what to have but everything hot we ordered was amazing and cooked fresh in front of us really quickly.

Came here with two of my friends when city centre was extremely busy. Sat in probably the only seats inside which were free. Recently refurbished it’s all clean and modern, although there’s still frequent occasions when the service buttons don’t work! Fortunately there’s plenty of friendly staff constantly walking around who are great and fast. There’s a number of booths, including a low one for pushchairs / wheelchairs, as well as the traditional bar seating. Toilets are located upstairs and clean, although the route to reach them could be improved a little.

Visited last weekend with my dad when we went shopping and had a really lovely lunch. It was really busy as it usually is but we didnt have to wait long for a seat at the bar. We had a really good chat with one of the waiters and it was just a lovely occasion which my Dad and I dont get to do often sadly. I had the cucumber maki, pumpkin katsu, inari tacos which are tofu pockets filled with rice, avocado, salsa and siracha mayo (oh wow so good) and the mushroom teryaki burger (again wow). Considering this is a sushi restaurant they have a really good selection of vegan dishes (amazing) and my dad also had a selection of dishes including katsu curry. Ive given a 4 this time because they actually forgot my dads avocado roll and we had to ask about three times for it. Other than that, great service, lovely food and clean facilities. Thanks!

I often go to Yo Sushi as the food is amazing however, my main reason for writing this review is due to our waitress Leah. She was very attentive, welcoming and seemed to generally care about my husband and i enjoying ourselves. Every question i had she was more than happy to answer. I don't know her wage but she deserves a pay rise. It was very busy but all staff were polite and calm. Thoroughly recommend!! Looking forward to returning.

I went for a family meal out and has a great experience. The new menu is great. The food was amazing. I especially enjoyed the pumpkin katsu curry however all the food was amazing. It was great to see the food being prepared and cooked in front of me. All the kitchen staff was friendly and gave great advice on the food. They definetly made the experience better as I felt very welcomed. Overall I would recommend this for an evening out or just a quick lunch.
