It's hard not to like a Yo Sushi...you sit down, you grab some plates, you start eating...couldn't be easier. Unless, that is, you make the mistake of ordering off the menu (when, typically, the only plates doing the rounds are the pricey ones). Waited 20 mins for one dish with the fellow taking the order looking almost scared to chase it up. Granted, he knocked the price off the bill when it did eventually turn up, but by then other dishes ordered had been polished off. I'm not going to slate it too much - love sushi and what we had was very tasty - but given the idea (especially in an airport) is that the food is fast, on this occasion it wasn't.

The welcome was cold and inpersonal. Clearly the young lady acting as hostess had no clue of what customer service is all about (not greeting customers when they arrive is a big No No nowadays is not acceptable especially given the prices charged). When her unpolite behaviour was mentioned to her, she responded by saying that it was a busy day . Unfortunately, the restaurant was just over half full. Clearly, that did not cut the mustard. This lady should be sacked, period. However the actual restaurant manager is a lot more nicer and far more professional. Food is OK and it is worth ordering the warm options as they tend to taste less bland than the usual studd going through the conveyor belt.

Whist the managers rushed around arranging and doing not a lot and discussing what to sell I pressed the button three times and no one came to serve,in the end had to shout out to get attention. Food average and asked waitress to put remaining in a takeaway,what did she do threw it away!

Like a lot of reviews I only went here because the queue for Waggas was too long. Poor selection on the belt and the plates looked dirty and passed their best . There were lots of dirty plates piled up and flies everywhere that were extremely annoying. Staff were not overly friendly.

Ended up in yo sushi as Wagamama’s queue was very long and wanted the children to be fed before our flight. How I wish we waited in the queue. The table we were placed was dirty and sticky. No one came to clean it even after a request. We had to ask the people opposite us if they could give us soy sauce dishes as after 4 times of asking the staff, we gave up. The fish didn’t look fresh but as it smelled ok, allow the kids to have their favourite nigiri and maki. All three of them came down with a sore belly which wasn’t pleasant on long flight. Don’t bother with the noodles as it was all luke warm! And don’t bother asking for more miso or tea as you will never get it. A bad lunch for over £100 for a family of 5. Wait in the queue for wagamamas no matter how desperate you are!

The only reason I haven’t given this one star is purely because we enjoyed the food. I have been to yo sushi several times and always had a good experience until I attended this one. My husband and I were with our children at the airport and thought we would go food and yo sushi. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated, I understand they are busy but no staff let us know how long the wait was they just left us standing there, we were then seated in a ‘bar’ area. While we waited for our food a member of a staff was shouting and being very inconsiderate that there where costumers seated around her. She was being very rude to other members of staff including the ones in the kitchen, she would repeatedly scream ‘hurry up’ and made us feel very uncomfortable. The restaurant was very busy and this lady was shouting at the chefs in the kitchen to make her food and talking about how hungry she was, I understand everybody needs to take there lunch breaks but this made us feel uncomfortable and like we couldn’t all speak to each other. We decided to ask to get our food for take away and went and ate else where. Wagamamas is next door I would highly recommend visiting there! Never been anywhere so unprofessional

Sed to be a regular, but haven't been to yo! For a few years. Was looking forward to pre-flight lunch, but the food and service were poor. The cafe was only half full, yet there were no small plates or glasses out. There ere only expensives dishes put on the conveyor. The recipes now include meat, but it was impossible to tell which as everything is covered in gloopy mayo. Even the sushi rice is wet with gloop! Yuk!

Went to yo sushi tonight and left after a few small plates when we realised food wasn't fresh. They have display until labels on each little plate and at 8pm were still circulating plates with labels with display until 430pm. We had some plates labelled 830pm, which were the freshest we could find and they were horrible. Tasted old and raw fish was warm. Honestly worried about how safe that was to eat.

We were eating during a busy period, so were understanding when we got sat at the bar around the back of the restaurant. However within minutes of ordering, a staff member who was on their break next to us was aggressively complaining about the wait on their hot food. When it did arrive, they loudly complained about the terrible quality of it, simply chucked the brand new bowl of Katsu Curry in the bin and stormed into the kitchen (not in uniform, in an open kitchen) to cook their own food. More staff nearby were also complaining to each other about the quality of the food served in the restaurant.

Sushi malísimo, salmon olía mal en los rolls y en los temaki. Arroz apelmazado y malo. Las piezas vienen partidas por la mitad, una pieza normal en este restaurante son dos. Lo único que se salvo fue la sopa miso. Los camareros efectivos pero se les ve amargados y son muy poco comunicativos, no sabes si se han enterado de la comanda. En fin, busca otra cosa.

Food was cold, we generally order only from the menu. I had chicken curry ramen which was ok but tepid and japanese chicken which had obviously been sitting for a while as the usually crispy batter was mushy and the chicken was aged. My partner had prawn katsu which was tepid, japanese chicken which was again mushy and been sitting and chicken teriyaki which was stone cold freezing. We are huge fans of the Yo! Franchise and regularly eat in it. The staff asked us what we wanted then said "can I write that down" after we had completed out order. I dont believe any of the food is cooked there on the site and is cooked elsewhere and brought up and heated and served hence the very poor quality. We were not the only people complaining about the temperature of the food or quality. I would avoid if you are looking for the same standards as in other Yo! branches.

My daughter loves sushi so, to end her birthday weekend away, we went here for food before our flight. Although there were plenty of dishes on the conveyor, there were none of the cheaper coloured ones which meant we were forced to choose the more pricey dishes. There were lots of yellow plates going round which didn't appear on the menu and, as someone else has commented, we didn't have the 'yellow specials' menu on our table either so had no idea what price they were. It recommends that each person takes 4 or 5 plates each - we had 3 each and our bill was well over £30! Far too expensive for what it was. Wouldn't visit it again as it was overpriced and didn't really deliver.

Enige voordeel is dat je kan zitten bij Yo. Het eten is te duur voor wat er geboden wordt. Je kan veel beter 15 meter verderop bij Wagamama gaan zitten, dat is ook aziatisch maar alleen geen sushi. Wel betere prijs-kwaliteit verhouding.

Conceptually a sushi train is perfect for an airport where time is often short and you want to be in control of when the food arrives. However still we were hampered by poor service, with the waiter hard to hail and seemingly unable even to remember our drinks order or bring glasses for the water which was charged in the bill.

A great place to have your breakfast if you're travelling early in the morning. Delicious food and very friendly staff! First time in Yo! with my friends and everything were amazing. We ordered some hot dishes, as they're not coming around on the belt, and they arrived to our table in less than five minutes. I'm definitely going there again!!!

You know when you are at an airport and you are basically treated like cattle - heads in, feed, heads out. Yo! at North Terminal has the opposite. Very nice and accommodating service gives you this positive experience you would not expect in a place of fast feedings thousands of people on the go. Although I got a take away the manager had no problem with me occupying one of their tables since there weren't many people in. And food was proper.

The whole place was pretty disappointing, I know it’s in Gatwick and they made us aware they had issues with fryers etc but didn’t really make up for it anywhere. I usually order the same dishes every time we go to Yo Sushi but they couldn’t do the squid so just had the spicy seafood soup which tasted different to usual - the salmon is usually lovely - but was covered in bones and fat. In the end I didn’t eat anything and grabbed some food at the Wetherspoons which was the first time I can say was better than Yo sushi. Felt really sad my boyfriend had spent £30 and it was just a waste :(

Yes, I know if you eat in an airport you will pay more, but almost 150 euro for two adults and two children to have tasteless sushi? If you walk a few steps more, we discovered that they have takeaway trays of sushi for a fraction of what you pay to sit down. So buy a tray and find your own seat. Better yet, eat elsewhere if you can.

We had breakfst here mainly as it was quite empty whenother places were full. Really good though - special breakfast menu which was great value and delicious (and wasn't sushi!). Waitress very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with our order as their machine broke down so the chef was unaware. However dealt with professionally by the waitress who gave us a discount. Well worth visiting and a nice way to start our holiday.

I love sushi and restaurants like this are great for solo travellers in a bit of a rush. I have been to a lot of Yo Sushi! Restaurants and they are usually ok. This experience was however, shocking. And this is a place that serves raw fish. My beer came with a glass that smelt of fish, all the little soy sauce saucers had dirt on them and the plate with my sushi had old dried food on it. The first place they tried to seat me had food all over the floor! The staff were apologetic but I just left after seeing the food because I really did not want to get ill on holiday and actually those standards of hygiene are just not acceptable anywhere and everything just felt grimy. Has put me off Yo Sushi for a while.

This is honestly the worst sushi I have ever had!!! The rolls were tiny, dry and had hardly any filling!! We watched them unpack the already rolled sushi and butcher (cut)! Really really disappointed!! I would recommend the sun glass hut next door- you might have a better chance of getting some real/ atleast nice sushi there!!! Waga mama here we come!!

Yo sushi isn’t the best sushi, but it is still very tasty. The conveyor belt delivery system allows you to pick freshly made stuff and is a fun experience in itself to stack up some small plates. If you’re waiting in the airport and don’t want to get to full before the flight this place is perfect. A large asahi was only 5.5£ which is incredibly cheap for airport beer of that size. Also you can order hot food instead of just pre-made sushi. Try the spicy mayo fries with nori and bonito flake seasoning they are incredible and I would go again just for that. We will be back to visit here again. Lots of fresh Scottish salmon here and I highly suggest the rolls with that as the star.

Nous avons testé plusieurs restaurants Yo Sushi et celui-ci est le mieux, le riz était parfait, contrairement à beaucoup d'endroits, service ultra rapide, très agréable quand on prend l'avion, sushi à la demande fait en quelques minutes. Les cuisiniers travaillent de façon très hygiénique. Personnel efficace, rapide et souriant.

Hemos estado en otros sitios de sushi giratorio y nos han encantado. en este sabíamos que quizá podía ser más caro o de inferior calidad por ser en el aeropuerto pero no nos imaginábamos que tan malo. Pedimos de plato caliente unas gyozas y en la vida hemos probado unas tan malas. Partes duras que te costaba comer y otras requemadas... todo ello a módico precio de 4.30 gbp más 10% de tip que te enteras porque entre los platos que pasan te lo dicen que estas pagando un 10% más de lo que pone la carta por un producto carísimo. aparte de ello, cogimos dos de sushi sin sabor, también muy caros. Poca. variedad en los platos y, curiosamente, en los 20 minutos que estuvimos ahí no salió ningún plato de los del menor precio. Ni uno. Se iban repitiendo una y otra vez los mismos dando muestra de la escasa variedad.

Comí en este sitio de vuelta de un viaje de negocios. Los camareros muy majos, el sushi ok pero sin más. Caro para la calidad/cantidad pero por otro lado tratándose de un aeropuerto suele ser la borna. Es práctico que varios sitios en la barra tienen enchufe debajo. Total £28 por una comida normalita con agua y sin postre.

We have eaten at Yo! Sushi a number of times in different locations. We really like the way of eating and the freshness and variety of the dishes available. Airside at Gatwick it was really great to get the same menu as normal and at the same prices (unusual airside). The staff were really friendly and spent time o talk with us despite a busy lunch service. Although right in the heart of the airport it was peaceful and we felt (and were made to feel) relaxed

This is our normal pre- flight meal with the kids. They love it. This time our daughter left her orthodontic brace behind, which we only discovered after we left. I emailed the restaurant. They replied right away to say they had it and then when I landed 2 days later they brought it out to meet me by passport control!! Brilliant!! Thank you so much!!

The restaurant provides an escalator in which the food moves along so that you don't have to wait for a waiter. The cooked food is moderately quick but very classy. The portion sizes are small but pricey for its portion size.

La comida en el cinturón era un poco limitado, mayonesa y no suficiente variedad de sushi y sashimi. No tempura en esta ubicación (comprensible) o las berenjenas (no estaba claro por qué no). Fideos soba eran demasiado largos fuera de la olla, así que no hay mejor. No es fácil hacer sushi sushi razonable en un aeropuerto, pero el personal se esforzaba mucho.

Metto un punto perché zero non si può!Sono stata ieri sera in questo ristorante, sapendo fosse costoso mi aspettavo uno standard più alto, invece...Precisando che le cameriere sono state molto cortesi, prendono l'ordine, perché il tapirulan era rotto, poco dopo arriva ciò che avevamo ordinato, 2 California, salmone e avocado, faccio notare che quest'ultimo non c'è in uno, e nell'altro c'è n'è una quantità irrisoria spappolata per di più, lo mando indietro e nel frattempo mi arriva un altro roll, gambero fritto e avocado, anche qui inesistente mando indietro e ritornano entrambi uguali a prima, per di più il gambero era gelato...Ma è uno scherzo?

Two small dishes cost £10.Unfortunately my chicken katsu curry was only lukewarm and we were short of time so I didn't want to make a fuss.I will say that the staff were very sweet and I love the way the stuff goes round on a conveyor belt.Had the food been a lot hotter, I would have been able to write it higher, but I feel temperature is a basic pre-requisite of any meal in any restaurant and for both of us, we were of the same opinion.

We appreciate that this particular Yo! Sushi has cooking restrictions being in the area it is in in the airport but this should be explained BEFORE serving the food not after we had complained about the standard of food being served.Instead of the normal wok cooked meals, we were served what seemed like boiled chicken kept lukewarm in ovens. Menu very limited and when we ordered the 'special' which was kedgeree we waited almost 45 minutes as we were told it had to be cooked in a kitchen somewhere else.If you can't cook hot food properly to Yo! Sushi standards then don't serve it and just stick to cold stuff- at least then you know what quality to expect.That said, the servers were very nice and apologetic, hence why we moved from a terrible to a poor review.

Have to agree with some of the other reviews on here that this is the worst Yo Sushi I have eaten at. Firstly the bells weren't working, so you had to sit around & wait to get the attention of the staff. The food on the belt was fine & as you would expect, the hot options were poor...whilst I appreciate you can't have fryers if the food can't be cooked properly it's pointless serving it. The Chicken teriyaki tasted of pork, the prawn Katsu were luke warm & the Belly pork was mostly fatty lumps...both were inedible, admittedly we weren't charged for these.My advice is...if this had been my first Yo Sushi experience I wouldn't of tried your chain again! Luckily the Exeter branch is extremely good & hasn't put me off!

Nothing particularly stood out at this branch. Service was prompt and sort of friendly. Belt didn't have anything fancy however it wasn't a problem as they made up everything we usually have such as teriyaki and katsu. They do an awesome salad here which we haven't been able to find in a Yo! Sushi since.

During our waiting time before taking our flight we choose this restaurant for dinner, where waiting around 15 min to get a table even though it was like 70% of capacity.. The issue was that there were only 2 waitress for like 20 tables.. My kids were hungry and desperate.. When we got the table my kids started to take sushi from the band like it was last food of the world, the girl attending us was friendly, the quality of the food was nice and they prepared a sushi based on my need! At the end the long waiting negative aspect changed to positive when we finish our food and my son got his fried rice! Bon appetite.

This is most definitely the worst Yo Sushi we have ever visited! With 45mins to spare before our flight we were excited to see a Yo Sushi knowing that service would be quick and a tasty eat before we boarded. How wrong we were! The staff were atrocious. It seemed a burden to them to take our orders. The first staff member had no knowledge of the menu at all, was totally clueless although pleasant enough. You couldn't help but get the feeling that she had no knowledge of the Yo Sushi experience at all. We asked for one water which as most diners know, you are presented with a glass which you fill at your table from the tap. She returned with 3 glasses for water, when we asked for one, then returned with a large wine glass with tap water. We should have known then that things could only go downhill from here. We placed our orders and waited. The first dish was presented to us but the wrong one. Another waitress then came over to inform us that two of the dishes we ordered weren't on the menu (our fault for not checking but the first waitress didn't inform us of this at the time) At this point we told her that the first dish served was wrong only to be confronted with " so, you don't want it?" No, we want the dish we ordered if that's ok. It was replaced reluctantly only to see the waitress eating the one we had returned!! She never did return to take the rest of our orders, nor did anyone come to our table after pressing the call button twice for twenty minutes. Staff avoided eye contact at all times, chefs looked as though they would rather be anywhere but there....... I'd like to add at this point that the restaurant was very quiet and was certainly not understaffed. The food was nowhere near the standard of other Yo Sushi. When our first waitress eventually returned to check everything was ok she was stunned when I said no, only for her to ask again if I was happy with everything. What did she not understand with the word no? After informing her that no one returned to take our order nor did anyone respond to the call button, she then asked what we would like? .... the bill please. Avoid at all cost !

tapis roulant ou vous passent sous le nez des assiettes de sushis, sashimis et autres choix. si vous souhaitez des tappaniyaki ou noodle, le demander au serveurs qui vous l'apporteront à votre table. c'est tres rapide et dans un aeroport c'est parfait avant de prendre un vol. les serveurs sont serviables.parfait

We wanted to eat at Pret A Manger but ended up here as there was no seating available at Pret. The miso soup was watery and overall everything was expensive for what it was and the quality was very average and I wasn't happy to find that one of the cheaper dishes I had ordered was put on a much more expensive coloured plate. So overall wouldn't rush back to eat here, you can get better quality and cheaper sushi elsewhere at the airport, and my partner had to go to Pret afterwards to get a roll as he was still hungry.

Accueil top et suhi qui défile sur un tapis roulant. Génial car ils sont fait au fur et à mesure et on repère ce que l'on veut manger de loin :)J'ai apprécié le saumon avec une sauce légérement vinaigré et la viande parfumée avec des carottes. LE DESSERT STRAWBERRY CHEESAKE MOCHI est tout simplement le meilleur déssert que j'ai eu l'occasion de manger depuis bien longtemps !L'équipe est franchement sympa.

Was a bit disappointed as the little conveyor belt with the food looked so good but when it arrived it tasted a little bland. I thought it was pricey too for what it was and felt a bit rushed. Won't go back but can see the attraction of going because of the novelty factor.

I fly frequently and usually stop by yo sushi before my flight. While generally not great sushi, it is fast and tasty and in the past the staff have been attentive. Not today. Today, we started with a delay in getting seated as the couple at the front wanted a specific booth and so they didn't bother to seat anyone behind them. Then the call button where I was seated didn't work; neither did the buttons on either side. After multiple attempts at flagging down any staff member, I was resigned to only eat off the belt. Little to no selection, and I could see the chefs were playing very slowly. After 30 minutes with only two plates reluctantly consumed, I didn't bother to wait for dessert (he was plating mochi balls with all the speed of a sloth)I still was ignored by staff so simply got up in line to pay. The line to pay was so long I have managed to write this review, and they still haven't managed to get those mochi balls out. I realise they were understaffed, but it's no excuse for failing the basic functions of food service.

We attended the restaurant and were sat down straightaway at the table and asked if we would like to order some drinks.We just wanted some water before our flight. Our button for assistance did not work so it took a while to have someone come to the table to order our food. The food was nicely presented but disappointing in comparison to the last time we attended. My partner opted for a sumo bowl which was beef ramon and it was tasty. More selection could have been provided on the conveyor belt and what was there did not look very appetising. I just opted for the miso soup and katsu curry although it could have been hotter on serving. This restaurant needs some improvement to the urgency on serving the food as you don't want to feel like you are waiting when you are short of time before a flight at the airport. I felt like it was an effort to get another miso soup which is actually with an unlimited refill although I pretty much gave up in the end asking for another.

A fantastic atmosphere and service at the Japanese grill. It was a relaxed evening with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We opted for the set menu as we thought we would try a variety of different dishes. We were pleasantly surprised and with foods rich infused with excellent flavours and well presented.
