Love to sushi and although Bromley or Bluewater is where I get my usual yo sushi fix we tried somewhere closer to home this time for a quick meal out. Food was nice , fast order service from the kitchen. Staff attentive and polite. The position of the restaurant isn’t great and you do get a breeze but apart from that it was a nice lunch! One gripe is the chicken katsu curry, it’s like they have their own version here compared to the other yo sushi bars we have been to. Will be back though as they were quick to rectify their mistakes.

Service is efficient, friendly and professional. Food is delicious. Always a great pit stop if you have been on your feet all day. Personal favourites are the Seafood soup, can't go wrong if you like flavour. I also love the Gyoza and the Pumpkin Katzu. In terms of the cold dishes, the Dynamite dish is really tasty. A visit here one a week to get my flavour fix.

Myself, husband and son we're regular visitor's of Yo until the food/service went by the by! We used to come every Monday as this was my son's Jam but stopped coming!! We revised on the Friday before Christmas and I'm so glad to say it was incredible!! We came again today for lunch and it was fantastic!! A new and improved menu with cooks/server's that made the experience a 10/10!! I'm so glad that Yo has finally got back on the map and stopped living off their name with tasty dishes cooked by experienced chefs and served by people with experience and knowledge of the menu. 100% will be making this a weekly go to

Staff are very helpful and friendly, I always like some of the blue paper towel as it is bigger than the serviettes and the staff always greet me with a few sheets! Specific orders are usually delivered quickly. There is an option to eat 'street food' as well as very healthy salad options. My current favourite is Albacore tuna with truffle & Ponzu - heaven!. It is an excellent choice for a fast day meal since the calories are printed on the menu and four of my favourite plates with the Wasabi, soya & Picked ginger add up to less than 450 calories. If I keep to higher protein and salad dishes, it fills my food needs for the day. If I am not fasting, I go a bit mad and eat 6-7 plates! NB wheechair users will be fine as long as the chair fits in the lift. There is a lower table adjacent to one end of the belt that seats 2-3 people. It is at wheelchair height. Restaurant closes between 5pm to 7.30 depending on the day so suitability for 'Dinner' would depend on your chosen time.

I eat here regularly when shopping in Croydon as it is situated in the basement of House of Fraser and even at busy times you can usually get seated without waiting. I love that it is mostly help yourself (from the conveyer belt) but there is an extensive menu where you can order things freshly made, if they are not already on the belt. And everything on the menu is illustrated, or you can ask a member of staff. It's not cheap, compared to other fast options like McDonalds, but since sushi is better for me and I don't have to buy lunch every day, it is worth it. On Mondays they do "blue Monday" where you can get a wide selection of popular dishes for the price of a blue dish (which is second cheapest out of all the colours) Today I arrived just before midday so it was quiet, but there were already plenty of freshly prepared dishes going around the belt, and I didn't feel the need to order anything else as there was enough choice in what was already on the belt. Since the staff were not busy, I was able to have a chat with a few of them. My server was Sarah, she seated me and brought my drink promptly then checked if I wanted anything off the menu. On paying my bill I was served by Adam, and also chatted to Maria (about the things we like the best from the Yo Sushi menu) they were all very friendly, smiley and approachable, enthusiastic about the food which is good to see. So I have given top marks today for Yo Sushi in Croydon. Occasionally I shop in Bromley where there is a Yo Sushi in the Glades shopping centre, but I find the Croydon one is infinitely better in terms of friendly service, and presentation of the dishes.

Was visiting my favourite yo sushi with my 7 year old and 10 month old. Usually no problems but today was exceptionally dirty floors, counter and chairs. We waited for staff to attend to us and asked for the area to be cleaned. After a short wait the floor was swept up and the counter feebly wiped. We had to point out the crumbs on the chairs and stuck on noodles to be wiped up. Eventually this was done and I thought the staff was coming back to mop the dirty sticky floor but obviously not. I sat my 7 year old on the high counter, kept my baby in the pushchair to eat as no high chairs are provided at this yo sushi and sat away in the corner away from the dirty and sticky floor. I waited for the manager to turn up at some point during our meal who did not surface. Then when I asked for the bill I pointed out the dirty sticky floor and was told that it was a busy day and they couldn't clean up. This was at 4.45pm in the evening that I was leaving. So the lunch time rush would have been over long before then. After sheer disappointment at the response and lack of remorse I dare not have expected any sort of apology or compensation in form of any discount. So we just paid and left. Very disappointed at the cleanliness since this new batch of staff have arrived since july/August. Been going to this yo sushi for many years seen many batches of staff and management but this is the worst ever.........

Having previously visited in my lunch hour only to be served a Katsu curry with raw chicken (and making a subsequent complaint which was not responded to) I visited again hoping it was just a one off error. Being a big fan of the Brand I hoped this was the case.I arrived to what was the culinary equivalent to Fred West's cellar. It was appalling, filthy uncleared tables, no servers and no organisation at all. My drink never arrived, slow service and all round poor show.

There sometimes comes a moment, even with the most menial of complaints, when an issue that might have been easily resolved is no longer about money; and it rather quickly escalates and transforms into an issue of principle. Here's the lowdown:- I was sent an invitation by Yo! Sushi, inviting me in for my birthday with a voucher for 1/3 off. This was not a coupon I clipped from a paper or printed online - it was a solicitation from a restaurant, to me directly, inviting me to come in with a gift they provided.- I went in on a normal, quiet Thursday. It wasn't busy and I sat at a freshly cleared and cleaned spot at the booth...one of only a handful. I appeared to have come after a rush and a couple members of staff were scurrying to clear the bar. There was no placemat, having been freshly wiped down, but it didn't matter. I picked up a folded menu from the seat beside me.- I proceeded to enjoy my meal of usual favourites: salmon and yuzu tartare, tuna sashimi, the salmon selection, and popcorn shrimp tempura. Naturally, my enjoyment was enhanced by the knowledge I'd be getting 1/3 off. Thanks for the birthday love, Yo! Sushi!- My plates were added up and I went to the front to pay, showing the cashier that I had a voucher code. Imagine my surprise, when she tells me it is the Yo! Festival, and my voucher - which Yo! Sushi sent to me as valid for only 30 days - was invalid. I asked what the Yo! Festival was, and was told it was a near month-long event where more items were reduced to blue plate prices. How wonderful! Except for one thing: I didn't order anything on a blue plate. Nothing wrong with the blue plates, I just have my favourites. This didn't seem to matter to the cashier, who stated that the voucher wouldn't work at all even on full priced items. Naturally, I was kind of shocked by this, but was not alone. The family behind me points out how unfair it is for Yo! Sushi to send me a birthday gift, then tell me after it's not valid. This location is not an actual restaurant, it's in a store at a mall - and there was nothing stating it was a month of blue-plate specials. The cashier acknowledged that I should have had a placemat that said it, but since 2/3 of the bar wasn't cleared that wasn't the case.Fast forward, and I email a complaint. I receive a reply from corporate with a copy and paste of the Terms & Conditions of the voucher (that clearly don't apply in this case), an apology ONLY for any "inconvenience" and without addressing at all the service issue, or asking a single question to ascertain whether or not, perhaps, this was a Yo! Sushi error, and - the zinger - another voucher. Yes...another voucher. Another voucher to come back in another time, having already spent 33% more than I was promised I'd have to, because the voucher they sent me the first time (their error, not mine), wasn't valid during a "Festival" that wasn't advertised at the location. This is where it stops being about money and becomes an issue of principle, and, really, a training opportunity. Instead of replying with an implication that I am simply unable to read the Terms & Conditions on a voucher, how about asking where I think they got it wrong? How about a sincere apology for my time and the money spent, and a thank-you for being a repeat client who is even in the database for a birthday gift to begin with? And then, how about taking five extra seconds to try and see how this can be fixed - aside from blaming me and sending another voucher where I still have to first spend another 66%?I'm not even interested in a refund, and am at this point really livid about the reply I received from corporate. I understand if there's nobody on location with the authority to make amends, but the corporate office should then step up to the plate. Instead, they dropped the ball.

Alright. So, bit of a sushi snob here. I knew going in this wasn't going to be like my usual experience at my favourite sushi joint in central London (also conveyer belt), but I did have expectations of the quality *at least* exceeding a dry Tesco sushi box. It did that, thankfully. This place is located on the bottom floor of House of Fraser. It isn't enclosed, and so you are essentially eating at a conveyer belt as people shop around you. I have no issue with that, but you might. If you are looking for ambiance go somewhere else. The staff is also really slow to clear away the plates and remains from prior guests, and really only do it when there is nowhere else for new patrons to sit. It's a little bit yucky. It was slim-pickins on the conveyer belt. With the exception of one dish I had to ask for the other things I wanted to be made. I won't be taking a star off because I PREFER TO DO THIS. Why would I want something that 's done 20 rounds on a belt under a plastic dome for 75 minutes when I can have it made freshly, right in front of me? Score one for me.I collected two plates of the salmon trio (two salmon maki, two nigri, two sashimi) off the belt. It was a bit bulky on the rice and the fish slices were on the small side, but it was decent. I asked for two orders of Dragon Roll (pictured) to be made, and it was extremely good. Two plates of salmon sashimi and one plate of tuna sashimi were also ordered. They tasted fresh and were served chilled, although—again—they were sliced a bit funny for sashimi and on the small side.On a lark, I also asked for some beef teriyaki. That was a mistake. It was handed to me from the other end of the conveyer belt and was room temperature, at best. I asked for a hot one and by the time it came I had forgotten about it. The first two bites are good but after that the super-high concentration of sodium becomes really apparent. I was hoping for sweet to offset the salty I was getting from the soy sauce. Like a palate-cleanser for people who don't care for pickled ginger (which, by the way, they don't serve with their dishes).I ended up full and spending £43, which is the same I spend on a sushi lunch at my favourite place in central London. When I spend that much there I always feel like it was totally, completely, wonderfully worth it. At Yo! Sushi, not so much. I think I spent £43 on sushi that should have cost me £23.I would go back if I was desperate for some sushi and short on time, but I'm unlikely to do it again soon.

After sitting down and ordering my first few dishes I was then told that they've run out of noodles, chicken, beef, squid, salmon so basically they hardly had any food to serve. Time was when conveyor belt sushi if not sushi itself was a novelty and all the rage. Nowadays the only advantage of a place such as this is its usefulness as a quick pit-stop. And not even that. The 'sumo' chicken katsu I ordered took some time to arrive, enough time in fact for me to have been tempted by a few of the rather lean fare available on two very sparsely filled conveyor belts at 2.30pm on a Thursday lunchtime, namely some pork slices on stringy salad (not very appetising); raw salmon (much better). The chicken katsu when it arrived wasn't worth the wait comprising as it did strips of breadcrumbed chicken atop far too much rice in a gloopy rather tasteless brown sauce. And this is one of the new larger dishes aimed to give this place a new lease of life. Not greatly promising on the evidence of this visit.

Came in for a late lunch. No host present... Yes it was still busy(ish) so I don't mind waiting. However as I Waited to be seated we were ignored by staff that seemed redundant of duties. Consequently we sat ourselves down after 10 minutes of being neglected.Once sat, had to flag a member of staff ourselves to ask for menus/ drinks/ first order. There was a reasonable selection on the belt when we sat and the Food on the belt was nice to be fair. We did have a lot of this, seeing as we had our 'flashing order light' on and were ignored for at least 15 minutes. Once seen to, we attempted a second order, but gave up after waiting for another 15 minutes. By this time there were hardly any dishes left on the belt. Those still circulating were "hot" dishes, more lukewarm by this time, which were beginning to shrivel. When someone finally came to take our order. We used this call as our opportunity to get the bill and get out.Upon paying our bill, we asked the waitress to pass on to the manager that the service was terrible... She asked if we would like to see the manager. We usually would, but seeing as the manager spent most of our visit ignoring the guests, we did not want to waste any more time. Absolutely shocking.

My girlfriend and I are Yo sushi lovers. We usually visit the Bluewater branch, but gave the house of Fraser (Croydon) one a go (as it's closer to home). We stopped by for late lunch (around 2pm) on Saturday. There wasn't a host in sight and after waiting 5 minutes and enquiring with a member of waiting staff, we were told we "would be seated by someone shortly"... After another 10 minutes of standing there and watching other guests arriving after us and being greeted and seated, we took matters into our own hands and found 2 seats ourselves. After 10 minutes of sitting at a dirty place setting, we once again had to help ourselves and ask a member of staff to clean our area. We also had to prompt them to get us menus/offer us drinks... The simple things which they should surely have done if they had seated us when we arrived in the first place.Once we had decided on our order, we pressed our service button. Our service light was on for over 15 minutes and multiple members of staff walked straight past us (including the on duty manager) and served the guests around us. Whilst waiting for service, we tucked into a couple of dishes on the belt, which to be fair- were tasty. Once again, we had to help ourselves and had to flag a member of staff's attention in order to make our first food order... 45 minutes after we initially arrived at the restaurant! The kitchen staff were disorganised and appeared understaffed, which led to our order being delayed... So once again we tucked into the dishes from the belt. Once our food finally arrived, we did not want to waste any more time having to chase the waiting team to make an order. And by this point, there was nothing left on the belt worth filling ourselves with. The service was so slow and inattentive, we just wanted to pay out bill and get out. Which (might I add) even took 10 minutes to do! Upon exit, we politely asked the waitress cashing our bill to pass on the message to the manager that the service was terrible and we shall not be returning. She asked if we would like to speak with the manager, but seeing as they had made no attempt to better our experience (despite their presence) we didn't think they would be that bothered by our feedback. So to sum it up, we spent almost 2 hours at this restaurant and left hungry and unsatisfied. I would recommend that the staff are retrained to acknowledge their customer and attend to them correctly.

We went on blue Monday and found that on the conveyer belt the food was out of time any dishes still on the belt were past the eating time, we also found food that should be served hot, when ordered was taken off the belt and given to us cold. Predictably good Yo Sushi food, same as all of them but here there is a very attentive manager who keeps an eye on all her customers and jumps in to offer excellent service. Occasionally she is not there and the young boys and girls in training are not so good and need to watch their customers and spend less time chatting to each other. Small criticism as the food is great and the price reasonable. My family and I will be back again and again - even if I do need to give the kids in training a piece of my mind from time to time.

Overall the food was fantastic and whats really good is that you can try lots of little dishes rather than one big meal it get really busy but you never have to wait long for a seat and you have full control of what you want to spend They now offer sushi classes for £30 or £50 for 2 people lasting around 2 hours I'm tempted but a little costly I think

disappointing.I go to Yo Sushis all the time and this branch is horrible in comparison. Badly rolled rolls - meaning massive loose rice on the rolls. Too thickly sliced salmon on the sashimi. Sushi is as much about presentation as it is the food, and if you have been to yo sushi's before, you should know what you are getting, and this is the worst branch that I have been to by far. The service is slow; the woman prepping bad rolls wasn't wearing a hair net when all the other staff were. very disappointing from the yo sushi franchise!! And I hate saying it as I really do love yo sushi! :(I wish I took a photo to show you all how messy the whole thing was. such a shame

I was told about the special Blue September deal and reluctantly walked across a busy Croydon at lunchtime to experience Yo Sushi. This was absolutely not what I was expecting. The conveyor belt was kept full by all the hard working chefs who although extremely busy, at this very busy lunchtime with all seats taken, were more than happy to explain what certain sauces were and what it was they were preparing. I was very impressed and very much look forward to going back there. I also liked the fact that you can choose if you want sparkling water or flat water right there in front of you and the lady who came to count the dishes at the end was quick and payment was quick also.I had the chicken on a bed of raw cabbage with a sweet sauce and the fish on a bed of green leaves with a smokey sauce. Both highly recommended. I will definitely go there again. Real value for money at that price.

Any of 50 dishes, including hot ones, are all £2.50 each. Conveyor belt full, and staff happy to cook to demand as well. Friendly service. Was surprised it wasn't busier. Miso soup is free refills as well.

It was convenient to go here as it was close to where I was, but each time I visit Yo I find myself more and more disappointed in the quality of food. Ordered fairly simple fresh food, but it took a while to arrive and some would have taken even longer, so I cancelled that. The rice wasn't sticky enough, the sashimi was tasteless, the noodles tasted artificial and it was really disappointing.

Average its average, very average. Nothing special, which makes it average. Average price - average food.

Very busy, but a space soon became available. Quick service and greeted by the manager, who asked if we had eaten there before. Tempura was well cooked and not greasy. Chicken teryaki was delicious. Only down point was the vegetable yakisoba had hardly any vegetables in it. We should have sent it back, but were so hungry we didn't want to wait. Mentioned it to the waitress at the end of the meal and she got the manager who was in the middle of her break. She was very apologetic and took it off the bill. She also mentioned it straightaway to the staff. This branch was badly run until this manager took over. She is a credit to the brand. We will certainly go back.

Most of the time I visit Croydon shops I drop in to Yoshi's, I like the endless soda water stream and you can gauge just want you want by picking the dishes for the conveyor belt. Staff are more than helpful

We were having lunch in the House of Fraser basement food court at the "next door" Cafe Zest because of the kids that were with us but some of the adults preferred the idea of sushi. Yo! was willing to take our orders and bring them to the Zest tables. One Asian diner was very happy with the food from Yo! which was a good sign for the rest of us. I had sushi, sashimi and vegetable tempura and they were all first rate. The only pain was that we had to pay for the Zest food and the Yo! food separately but that was a small price to pay to satisfy both kids and adults.

First visit to Yo Sushi in Croydon today. It was surprisingly busy but service good. For a quick meal it works so well. And our two year old loves it. On top of rice fish and dumplings, he insisted on two of their deserts (as well as fruit). So didnt work out a cheap lunch!
