What you'd expect from sushi...did the trick

Excellent quality, nicely packed, generous with wasabi & soya.

Food was over an hour late. Given what we ordered, nothing would have taken long to make (only 1 item required cooking; this was stone cold when it arrived). Estimated delivery time kept being pushed back so I thought it was imminent - rather you tell me it’ll be an hour so I can cancel and order from elsewhere!

Alright, listen up, because I'm about to save you from a culinary disaster. I saw the glowing reviews for this so-called "Japanese" restaurant in Watford and, like a fool, I believed them. Let me be absolutely clear: DO NOT GO THERE. Seriously, I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the worst Japanese food experience of my life. I'm talking "questioning my life choices" level bad. The gyozas? They tasted like sad, soggy imitations of the frozen ones you can grab from Waitrose. And honestly, even those are better. The "Korean" chicken? Don't even get me started. It was an insult to Korean fried chicken. It was just...fried and dipped in sugar syrup. It should be under the dessert menu rather than big bowl. The yakisoba noodles? Instant noodles, plain and simple. That's what they tasted like. Pre-packaged, probably swimming in MSG. It's obvious they're cutting corners with frozen or pre-made garbage. The sushi? Okay, fine, it was slightly less offensive than the rest. But it was still a far cry from authentic Japanese sushi. Think "supermarket sushi on a bad day." It's "British sushi" at best. And the kicker? They charge a fortune for this garbage. It's an absolute rip-off. If you're looking for real Japanese food in Watford, do yourself a favor and go to “Kaka”. They deserve a Michelin star compared to this place. This restaurant is a disgrace. Save your money and your taste buds. You've been warned.

Was very disappointed as half of my order was missing

We visited Yo Sushi in Watford at 5 p.m., well before their 6 p.m. closing time, and the whole experience was a disaster from start to finish. It took far too long just to get someone to acknowledge us, and when they finally did, they seated a couple in a spacious booth while squeezing our party of three onto the belt seating. They didn’t even bother to bring kids' menus. At 5.30, when we finally managed to get someone’s attention—after multiple attempts—we were told we couldn't order from the Osaka evening menu, which had supposedly started at 5 p.m., because the kitchen was now closed. This left us with no choice but to grab plates from the belt. Meanwhile, staff were already clanging pots and cleaning up around us, making it clear they were more interested in getting out the door than serving customers. One staff member even kept walking past us, pointedly checking his watch before 6 o’clock had even arrived. To top it off, when I asked for a replacement miso soup, I got an eye-roll for my troubles. A restaurant closing at 6 doesn’t mean service grinds to a halt before then—dining customers should be treated with respect, not rushed out the door while paying premium prices for tiny portions. Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience. Yo Sushi really needs to rethink how they treat their diners.

Ordered delivery through deliveroo. When it arrived it was almost cold but that wasn't a big deal tbh. The prawn katsu was doughy and mushy. The curry sauce was tasteless. The sushi we ordered had tiny salmons and lots lf cold sticky rice. The vegetable gyoza was OK. The noodles we ordered wasn't even half a portion size. They should be honest about the sizes.

A fantastic spot for authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine! I've been here a couple of times, and what truly makes each visit special is Tom. He’s the friendly face who greets you at the door and ensures you're comfortably seated. Always in high spirits, he makes you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you arrive. As a senior hospitality manager myself, I can easily recognize the value he brings to the business. To be fair, the entire staff is exceptional—professional, attentive, and skilled. But Tom sets the tone right from the start, making you feel like you’ve chosen the right place to dine

Food was really tasty. Very limited options on the belt for none raw food.

Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. You can sit at the assembly line and take out whatever you want. The food tastes good and is made fresh right behind the line. If you want something that isn't on the line, you can order it on your cell phone or from employees. Only the drinks are a bit expensive. Overall still very good. The employees are very nice and it is clean.

I waited 1 hour before I called the restaurant and was told the courier had picked my order up a while ago this is an absolute travesty and utterly sub par. May I add this is not a Yo sushi problem but a Just eat problem my orders go missing very frequently and when the courier turned up after 2 hours I questioned him and he claimed he did not speak any English whilst having his phone on the English language, food was all cold Friday night ruined

The place was great. We went on Sunday and hour before closing. We have a lovely large pumpkin katsu curry, yo fries and avocado sushi.

Food from Yo is always delicious and we think it's healthier than many other takeaway options. Big thumbs up!

Very Misleading , Says unlimited sushi but in the smallest writing possible ( font size 2) says only particular day. Could easily put a clearer message out saying Thursday unlimited sushi offer but clearly they catch enough people out to profit off. Why put it on the belt if it’s for another day Told a member of staff they just shrugged their shoulders to be like oh well …

Overpriced but the kids love the experience It's extremely dirty. Don't go toilet! Looks like a public toilet in a bus station No napkins No cutlery No water No soy sauce You need to ask for everything I mean....of course I won't go back :) 2 kids and 1 adult was £150 We didn't have too much to be fair

Ordered from UberEats, the portion for the fish was very small and you can't even taste the salmon/tuna in the rolls. The rolls were also cut very thin. The sushi also had a horrible fish to rice ratio, it's a brick of rice and a thin slice of fish. The salmon also looked par cooked on one side. The rice itself doesn't taste like sushi rice and is mid. And the fish itself is low quality. Not sure how it is in person but ordering delivery was a very poor experience. For the price, wasn't worth it at all.

Nice place, funny the conveyor belt with the cold dishes, which circulate continuously! If you have children they will have a lot of fun. The food is good, I would have preferred a more generous size of the sushi....but it's fine anyway. The poke choices are very good and plentiful. We'll be back but it's very busy at weekends! Online prices.

Me and my family attended this restaurant on a Thursday as they provide all you can eat sushi. Myself and another ordered a katsu curry while the other two ordered the unlimited. They told us they couldn’t serve us the unlimited as every member of the table would have to order it! The two of us don’t like sushi so why would we order it?! The two of us were refused service and had to elsewhere to eat while the other two stayed so they could eat their unlimited sushi.

A lovely friendly atmosphere and great and attentive staff. It's not the best sushi in the world but the fun of the conveyor belt and seeing the chefs at work makes up for it. Our waiter was really helpful and attentive, and even gave us a great recommendation for a mini golf place further down the road.

Came here for my partner’s birthday and we were served by a really lovely young guy. He asked us what we had planned for our day and when we told him about the occasion, he kindly offered to give us a free dessert. He was really nice to us and went out of his way to make it feel special - it was greatly appreciated. His name was “Icey” (apologies if that is the wrong spelling!)

Probably the worst place i ever eaten at. The service was horrible, it took to long for me to get a seat and it took to long for me to order. And the guy that was serving us forgot our drinks so we had food before our drinks. And i got burned by the food . What i ordered had hot peppers but it wasn’t visible so when i took a bite my whole mouth felt like its on fire 1/10 would not recommend to anyone

The food quality is absolutely disgusting. Sushi and rolls are cold, and smells bad, there is no certainty that the food is made from fresh products. They all taste equally bad. Portions are small, the smallest portions of sushi I've ever seen.

Was very good experience, the sushis keep rolling on the belt. You simply pick and eat. And also you see the sushis being made right there. Was nice. Friendly staff.

Young man who was leading the shift was quite racist. He made us wait outside in the cold & rain. A kind Oriental staff let us in. The Caucasian team leader kept giving the seats to others behind us. Selection of shushi was bismal. Quality of Tuna & Salmon was very poor. Prices per dish was over the top. A place to miss specially after the tummy upset we all got.

Quite a few items were not available to order and the food that did come was bland and needed copious amounts of soya sauce to season. We had to also ask for cutlery. Service was friendly although we nearly paid for another tables order by mistake!

A typical YO! Sushi. The food is great, you can get better sushi but you will probably pay more for it. You can get cheaper sushi, but it probably won't be as good. The belt is a little bit of a gimmick. Personally recommend a hot dish per a person, with one or two sushi plates each as a starter.

Good evening fellow Google reviewers, I had the pleasure of being served by the attentive Tom who catered to my every requirement. The salmon sashimi created a feeling of satisfaction and fulfilment. I could feel the salt water freshness I genuinely thought I had just came out of the Pacific Ocean. If you are ever craving some fishy freshness, better yet if that is not your style and you need some kicking katsu this is the spot. It has been a pleasure to share this review space with you all 🥰

Never again, waste of money. spent £68 and rice and noodles not freshly cooked at all. Straight from the microwave. Don't waste your money and no taste or fresh food. Never had this kind of rubbish tasteless restaurant food before. regret big time wasting money.

Lovely place and I wanted to visit this place from long time ago but weekends were always busy so I went over a weekday and it was less crowded and I could peacefully enjoy my meal. Sushi options are great and you pick up from the belt as much as you like , they bill at the end depending on colour of your plate. Wonderful selections of hot food like katsu curry, poke bowl etc and cold food. They serve unlimited miso soup. I loved their collection of sushi and they’re made fresh.

Hello. Another visit here. Love the Katsu dishes and drinks. It is expensive but delicious.

Rubbish service. The waitress was utterly miserable. Not surprising since she was the only one working the tables. Several of the meal options were not available. Not recommended.

Service was absolutely awful. Drinks were brought to our table and managed to spill drinks on our table with no apology. Asked several times for plates. Food was below average compared what it was use to. Sorry Yo Sushi, you have lost another customer.

First time ordering delivery and was very disappointed. Beef was dry and overdone and portions were minimal, the chips had less than half a box for nearly £6, only dish that tasted pleasant was the chicken noodle. Was it worth £25 i think not, best to eat in as quality delivered was poor.

I love Yo! But this has and always will be the worst location I’ve ever been to. The food is consistently a lesser quality than of other locations. The kitchen always looks a mess and seems unsanitary. But above all the service was absolutely terrible. Two of us walked in and were told to sit wherever by the server waving her hand around. She sat us and informed us of the new table service system and said she’d be back to take our order. She did not return for ages and had to be called back for our order as she sat other tables and messed around with kitchen staff. Our server was a young Asian woman who I have not seen before on evening of 6/3. Took our order and asked for some forks. We received all of our food before I got my forks, drinks or miso soup. She informed us that the kitchen would be closing soon and to order anything else we wanted to quickly and then went onto ignore us for twenty minutes. Instead of bringing our drinks she busied herself sweeping and chatting with the kitchen staff, made eye contact with us several times and ignored us. Finally managed to order the last dish we wanted before the kitchen closed but absolutely shocking service, I’ve never experienced anything so bad. I will never come back to this location purely because of this.

I asked if it was made fresh or taken from the prepacked refrigerated section. The employee said fresh, and pointed to the chefs in the center of the conveyor belt. Then, we placed the order and he started taking things out of the refrigerated section. I asked him why he lied to me and he tried acting like we didn't tell me it was made fresh and sneered at me. I used to eat here all the time. No more now.

Went here with a friend to eat out. We did go when it was quieter so there weren't that many people in the restaurant. Got seated right away and explained how to order in no time flat. It had been a while since I went out to eat at a YO! Sushi place, but I think I can safely say my experience was pleasant. Food overall was good. Ordered my personal favourite dish, the Chicken Katsu Curry. Food service was fast, I didn't have to wait any longer than 5 minutes after ordering. My main complaint would be the drink sizes since they felt a little smaller than the last time I was at a YO! Sushi restaurant. Overall though a good meal and good experience.

When I placed an order, I was told it will be delivered in 40 minutes. It was not! I placed an order 6:50 and it got delivered 8:29pm. After a long day in the hospital is was the last thing I needed. The food was delicious, just very late.

The apps missing half the food so had to order with one of the two staff that were struggling didn't get my points on the app food was fine.
