Humo in Watford

I visited Humo Restaurant in Watford on a Saturday night, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. We started with some expertly crafted cocktails, followed by the most delicious croquettes and succulent prawns. For our mains, we chose the Tomahawk with chips, and it was cooked to perfection—each bite was bursting with flavour. Dessert was an absolute highlight, with the Basque Cheesecake and a delightful brioche dessert that left us wanting more. The service was second to none, with the staff making us feel right at home. Highly recommend Humo for a night of amazing food, drinks, and impeccable service!

Yummy food! Came in here with my friends and we loved the food. The Jalapeno margarita cocktail I had was so good! Really friendly staff with some great suggestions on the food. I enjoyed every dish...and loved the warehouse vibes.

We had a reservation for 2, which was cinfirmed yesterday. Today the reataurant was closed. Anything can happen, and we understand that they might have to be closed, but no one let us know.

Interesting fusion between Spanish and Japanese cuisine

The food was reasonably good, the service only okay. An interesting fusion concept of Spanish and Japanese cuisines that worked really well in places.

It was our first visit to Humo Watford as a family. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, had ordered duck which was tasty and most importantly very tender. Had also ordered sea bass fish which was also very tasty I think would have loved to have a little big piece but was good. Chops and steak was also Very good . Our starter was also tasty and good. Service was excellent person serving our was very good unfortunately forgot his name. Had a great time. Will definitely go back . Would recommend other to try it out too. Thanks 👍👍👍👍👍

From the point of booking right to when we left the experience was brilliant. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the food was absolutely insane. We went for the £27.50 3-course menu which was excellent value for money. The wine was excellent too. Everyone in the group was pleased with their choices and overall we had a wonderful evening.

Myself and two friends visited on a wednesday evening. They let us know they had a large event on which may slow service to us. We appreciated being informed and the waiter was very attentive and gave us a sushi dish as a little bite on the house whilst we waited for our food. Drinks were flowing and once we received our food it really was delicious! Sea bass especially!

After booking back in June and couldn’t make it due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to say our experience for our wedding anniversary in September was outstanding. Nothing was to much trouble, the food was delicious and the waiter / bartender was extremely helpful and attentive I have no hesitation in recommending Humo and 100% will be back

I booked this restaurant to take my gf on a date but just by looking at pictures it looked nice but it wasn't till we got there and tried the food cocktails and felt the atmosphere that one my gf and I felt this is now our place to go everything about it was just amazing and we can't wait to go back there end of the month ❤️

Had a lovely experience. Staff were hands on and accommodating. Visited Humo with a group of kids that love tiktok and selfies lol Staff allowed the kids to be free. Their food was also very delicious and well priced. Would happily go back. Thank you!

Just an amazing experience. Every single dish was PERFECTION. Stand outs were the jamon croquetas, the lamp chops with miso, the bavette steak, the Patatas bravas sauce was amazing! Beautiful restaurant, delicious cocktails too and we will definitely be back! 🤩

We had an early booking for a table for five, and there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant. Despite this, service was woeful. It was like pulling teeth. Drinks took over 30 mins to arrive at the table. Meals all came out separately, with one of our party not getting their meal until the rest of us had nearly finished. Food was fine. Nothing to write home about. Saving grace, the cocktail I had was good.

We went to Humo last week, we had read some good reviews and thought we’d go for dinner. The service was good, our waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful throughout. The food was very average - for starters we had padron peppers which were fine, ‘langostinos’ which were actually gambas but again fine and patatas bravas which were quite soggy and the aioli was curdled. For mains my medium rare rib eye steak, coming in at £30, was very overcooked - medium well if I’m being generous, the ‘chimichuri’ was red and did not have a fresh herb in sight - dried oregano and parsley with red wine vinegar which lacked any freshness that you’d expect with a good green sauce and the peppercorn sauce was wishy-washy - the stock was not reduced enough, there was no depth/warmth from brandy and it was very thin in consistency. Some side dishes: excellent crispy chips and lacklustre, poorly prepared ‘seasonal’ veg that had not been scrubbed properly or treated with any care. Overall good service but poor food.

Have been here a few times and that says enough (considering I do not go back to restaurants more than once/twice). First & foremost, the cocktails here are amazing! The starters are so varied in flavours but hits the spot every single time. The mains are such huge portions. Perfect food, great ambience and amazing drinks!

Absolutely amazing service from all staff including owner/ management We booked a table of 18 and the food was insane. All my friends hadn't come before and this was my third time. It was great for a birthday night out. Plus dj was playing amazing music. I can't wait to come back

Best restaurant in Watford. Went recently for a girls night out and to celebrate a birthday. The owner is so friendly and helpful and the service is excellent. The music was a little loud at first so we asked the dj to turn it down, he was so cool about it and then he cranked it back up later on so we could all dance. Brilliant night out for anyone looking for a more sophisticated night out in Watford.

Really nice food. The rice was tasty, good steak, good peppers, beef balls good. Defo recommend this spot.

I tried to call and email the restaurant to cancel my booking, but no one picked up on either phone or email, and they still charged me £40 in cancellation fee although I was unable to get hold of anyone to cancel my booking

What a find!!! Great Restaurant with amazing staffs! We went in to celebrate our exam success, 4 of us. The staff led by Prebs, greeted us so well and gave personal attention throughout our dinner. The whole meal was excellent, but the Statrters were my favourite... I loved the Pardon Peppers, the crispy Mushroom (Arrozo Meloso), the chicken Gyoza, the prawns ..... I ordered Lamb Chops and the combination with mash and the miso sauce was next level! The Cheesecake were ultimate....Can't wait to be back there soon:-)

We were a group of 6 so had the opportunity to try lots of different tapas. All were lovely. Service was friendly and efficient. Lovely buzzy atmosphere - feels like you’re on holiday!

We went for dinner at Humo on a Friday night. Enjoyed lots of small plates - bone marrow, gyoza and the sushi were standout dishes - and the beef short rib main was delicious too. We’ll definitely be back to try out more of the menu soon. Also a great cocktail list and DJ playing meant a lively atmosphere. Thanks!

Night out for my wife's birthday. 15 of us had a selection of small plates and drinks. DJ RAY then kept us dancing till closing time.

Great vibe and even better food!

The service here is top notch, the atmosphere lovely and the food delicious. I will definitely return here and highly recommend to others. My only negative would be I do think £8 is expensive for a non alcoholic cocktail, even though it was a very tasty, well presented cocktail (although I don't often drink non-alcoholic cocktails, so perhaps this is the going rate).

Great food, and a well made cocktail. Service was a bit patchy on the night we visited - whilst friendly, due to the layout of the restaurant, we felt a bit invisible, as we had to leave our seat on one occasion to request a drink. All in all though, a great addition to the Watford restaurant scene - at long last something different! Give it a go.

This our favourite restaurant in Watford. It is on the higher end when it comes to price but absolutely worth it. Our most recent visit was for father's day and if I'd let them, I think my family would have licked the plates! Don't miss out on this watford gem

Took my better half and mother-in-law to Humo Watford for a birthday dinner, and what a riot! The cocktails were dangerously delicious—especially the Raspberry Marg, which I might now be in a serious relationship with. The Miso Aubergine was out of this world, and the Jamon Croquetas had us all fighting over the last one like it was the last slice of pizza. I had the Bavette steak cooked to perfection, and I swear the staff could read my mind because they were always there when needed but never hovering. The place was spotless, and the vibe was great...we really need to visit at a weekend. The pacing between courses was spot on, so we didn't feel like we were auditioning for an eating contest, despite ordering half the menu. The Torrijas & Requeson dessert was a caramelised dream—absolutely incredible. I was too full to have a draught of Estrella Galicia (which I've only seen once in the UK), but that's just another reason to come back soon. Humo Watford, you've won our hearts and our stomachs. We'll be back for the food and the Galicia! 🍴🍹✨

what in the hell did they serve, 4/5 of us ordered chicken and 4/5 of us were served PINK chicken. we asked the server and she said it’s just the bird… what kind of bird are you serving then??? you don’t have to be a genuius to know how to cook a chicken

Came here for a belated birthday dinner, all the staff were super nice and chatty and accommodating of any requests we had. Decent prices considering the quality of the food and a lovely selection. Mentioned it being a belated birthday dinner and they went out of their way to bring over a birthday dessert which was really lovely and thoughtful. Exceeded all my expectations and will definitely be back! Highly recommend the YellowTail Carpaccio and Mushroom Croquettes!

We had lunch yesterday and the food was excellent and served in a good atmosphere. We enjoyed every moment of our visit to this restaurant.

We had a very different experience from others posted here; we visited on a Saturday night unaware that Happy Hour had taken place between 5-7 previously; hence the place felt like like a club at midnight ; many drunk and loud parties clearly enjoying themselves but shouting to make themselves heard over the clubby music which felt completely at odds with the laidback decor. Our server was very attentive but we all struggled to make ourselves heard when ordering. We initially ordered cocktails and tapas and discussed whether we’d order the steak later. The cocktails tasted great but they arrived a long time after the tapas - the single barperson appearing to struggle to keep up with orders. Just like the venue, the menu also seems to suffer from an identity crisis; Humo refers to itself as a grill but there are minimal choices on the menu and the tapas - while again tasting very good - mixes Spanish (potato bravas, croquettes) with Japanese (tempura) - all of which feels (and tastes) disorienting. After finishing the tapas and cocktails, our waiter then tried to sell us red wine referring to how well it goes with the steak. Again, this felt like a mistimed beat; why not mention this when we were contemplating the steak earlier? All in all, for the experience and the price we paid - approx £70+ - Humo felt average at best. In my opinion, it seems to struggle with what it is; a bar, a club, a grill, or a restaurant and in trying to do all of these, falls short of delivering on any

Humo in Watford was the perfect way for us to celebrate my boyfriend’s 20th birthday! the staff were more than accommodating and so attentive throughout our entire meal. They were informative about the offers they provided and catered perfectly to how and when we wished our food to be brought out alongside our drinks. Ending our evening with a little surprise desert! Overall, one of my favourite restaurants, food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing! Cocktails were unique and displayed with care. Highly recommend such a welcoming and atmospheric restaurant, thank you for having us!

I've been searching for a new favourite restaurant and this one tops the list so far. Both food and the service were excellent.

Best food in Watford! And I mean that honestly, the food is incredible. Perfectly cooked with a great balance of flavours. Very accommodating for everyone from vegetarians to non-vegetarians. The sea bass and tofu yakisoba were some of our personal favourites when it comes to the mains. The starters and sides were all incredible, particularly the truffle mash. (The chips were just as good, they might seem like something easy to make, but they had the perfect crisp on the outside while still being fluffy and creamy on the inside). The owner was very nice and you can tell how passionate he is about the restaurant and the food from the way he handled staff to the way he treated customers. Oh and can’t forget the dessert, the basque cheesecake just melts in your mouth. Overall was an amazing experience! Hearing Japanese and Spanish fusion might sound crazy, but damn did they nail it perfectly! Thank you for having us, and for making the twins’ birthday a special experience! Will definitely be back! The only downside? There aren’t more locations haha, but maybe soon.

Went with The Boy and had a lovely graveyard shift (Sunday 3.45pm sitting) meal, so the place wasn't that busy. The tapas is great, and the mains are likewise. We split a fab Tomahawk (bone in ribeye). Service is attentive and well humoured. Had a great time. Have been before and will go again. One of the better (and sadly few) upmarket places in town.

I had been meaning to try out this place for quite a few months. Finally got round to it and it didn’t disappoint! Service was polite and candid from the get go. All drinks, tapas and grills went down well - our favourite were the croquetas. Came here with the boys but would definitely come back for a date night with my partner, Fridays the have a DJ too. Nice eloquent addition to Watford.

Amazing food, service and an atmosphere which makes you wanna dance! Music was on point and the lunch time menu was a great deal. The Padron peppers were smokey, charred and seasoned to perfection whilst the veggie breakfast was great value for money.

Me & my partner had a great experience at Humo Watford. As soon as we arrived the staff were very welcoming and attentive. I absolutely loved the idea of tapas. We had a mix of plates including the bone marrow, croquets, chicken gyoza, ribs and duck breast. Each meal was delicious and full of flavour. The cocktails were so tasty. I really liked the atmosphere and the dj playing music in the background was pleasant. Now we know about Humo we will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you

We had the lamb chops and ribs for mains which were tender and full of flavour. This was our first time visit and we will certainly be back. Food took around 30-40 mins to come out, there was a group of us which made it okay but if it was a couple then it would have been noticeable. Once everyone’s food had arrived my partners still had not come out; waited 5 mins and then I spoke to the manager. It was clear it had been forgotten. This was rectified quickly.
