Humo in Watford

Had a lovely meal at Humo. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and attentive and the restaurant has a great vibe. It’s nice to find a local restaurant with more varied dining options and lots of new tastes to try!

Great concept, great food and great drinks! They were offering Sangria on the house during our visit and it was 10/10! Cannot recommend this spot more. If you do go, make sure you get the salmon tataki, bone marrow and burnt basque cheesecake!!

I’ve been maybe 5 times and it’s always been great. Food is fresh and super delicious. Highly rate going on a Friday night and having the jalapeño margarita. Staff and DJ are friendly and fun. No where else like it in Watford.

Have eaten at Humo many times since it opened. Fair to say I’ve now eaten the whole menu. Would recommend Humo for literally any occasion. We’ve even started going for Sunday brunch now.

A great meal for a friends birthday. The food was really tasty, specially the croquettes!

Excellent food and service. We booked lunch for 3 and our server was helpful, polite and went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice meal. He offered to charge a phone than was out of battery and bought me some amazing baked cheesecake for dessert on the house as we were celebrating my birthday. It was very quiet for lunch service but the food was delicious. We had the set lunch menu and everything was great. The croquettes and steak were a particular highlight but everything was very good. We will definitely be going back.

Love this little gem in the centre of Watford. Service is welcoming and consistently attentive, cocktails are tasty, menu is varied and creative, and food is delicious and high quality. Friday night are such fun with no kids, DJ and dancing. Go and support this super spot!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Was a Friday night and a DJ had started but the music was at a nice level still suitable for conversation. Food was excellent and waiter had good knowledge of both food and drink options. The jalapeño margarita was excellent! Only complaint from my partner would be the ladies toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned. Definitely intend to go back plenty on the menu we want to try.

Humo is a great place to go out with friends. We like to go on a Friday as they have an amazing DJ Ray who plays great music. Food is good and service is second to none. Would highly recommend for a place to go in Watford

Ivo was fantastic. We tried different cocktails based on recommendations from him and they were all delicious! I have tried plenty of bars for cocktails in Watford and by far I would come back to Humo for cocktails! The pineapple daiquiri and humo martini are a must!

We went for lunch at Humo last weekend with a large group of friends and had a great experience! We were lucky enough to try most of the dishes on the menu and the food was exceptional, in particular the bone marrow and mushroom arancini from the tapas section and the duck from the mains. There was a great selection of delicious alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as well. The staff were very attentive to our needs and we felt very welcomed. We would not hesitate to recommend Humo to friends and family! Def worth a visit.

I think it is one of the best pieces of meat I had eaten in watford. Every single dish was very tasty and in a good portion. I had I a two courses menu for 19£ and it is 150% above my spectation. Super recommended to have a very good food in watford. I think prices are adjusted to the amazing quality of the food they served. Manager Ivor was very helpful and aimable, and waitress Hanna was very nice too. 100% I going to return.

Tapas/Japanese fusion with a really lovely & unusual menu (I hope they keep it seasonal & varied over time!). Loved the octopus & paella. Marrow bone wasn’t for me (usually love it). Can’t wait to come back & try the beef dishes. Highly recommend the white Rioja! 😍 Came back a year on for cocktails so edited the review… Fabulous cocktail menu (I’m a tequila fan and therefore biased!). Late night service slow but friendly. Ask for not too sweet if you prefer the sharp! The food menu hasn’t changed in a year, which is a shame, but plenty I haven’t tried yet so will try to come back!

We happened to come across this place by chance as we were strolling on the high street. And what a find it was. The place has a great atmosphere and is very energetic. The service was very friendly and the staff made an effort to make sure we were well settled, despite having no booking. The menu is not huge and is a strange mix of Spanish intermixed with a couple of Japanese items. The tapas items were spot on - fresh, great flavours and tasted amazing. The croquetas, padron peppers, mashed potato and patata bravas makes one crave for more. The jalapeño margarita was a great accompaniment. Overall a great find

First time trying this place in Watford I haven't heard about this restaurant before some i had to give it a go. The food is really nice

Not angry but disappointed. First time I came here it was amazing all round, tonight however changed my mind about this place and will not be back. The person who I would assume was the front of House served us and firstly forgot 1 of 3 drinks we ordered along with our food and then brought our mains before our starters, he then asked us what we had ordered after he had taken our order, and said he can’t help the kitchen is slow with no apologies for any of his mistakes and then almost avoided us all night.

The ‘Bavette’ is divine. A great experience that wished will never end. We will be back

Best restaurant in Watford hands down. Nice place for girls night or date night. The hosts are so accommodating and the service is excellent. The food and cocktails are by far superior to anywhere else around! Get the strawberry daiquiri, it’s amazing!

Went with my family for Mother's Day. The food was absolutely superb, and the staff were all really helpful and friendly. It is a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Sure we will visit again

i'm going to agree with a previous review i've seen while looki g thru now, 'nice but no'... the tapas and wine 10/10, should have stopped there... main meals, steak cooking was inconsistent - rare one end and medium the other (ordered medium rare so i suppose the middle was correct 🫣)... duck was over cooked... nice place with potential to be better but i'm being kind with 3 stars... especially as we had 20mins of restaurant mood music in one ear and kitchen radio blasting in the other 👀 on the whole would have been a nice meal out at around £20 less... for what we paid, not worth it unfortunately 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mid week dinner with family. Food was delicious and service good. I’d forgotten to bring my 15% off discount voucher but they kindly still allowed the discount. Having said that, I would say it is still rather expensive overall, even with a discount. Might be an idea to offer better deals for during the week or go there for special occasions.

I was looking to meet a friend who works in Watford after work so I used Trip Advisor to pick this restaurant and I was glad I did. We ordered a few tapas because it was late afternoon and probably too early to order dinner. The food was very good, we had tapas and gyoza. The staff were pleasant and although neither of us drank alcohol the bill still came to around £50.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab lunch, specifically Croquettas de Jamon and some Duck with Pedro Jimenez sauce. The croquettas were absolutely phenomenal (Very expensive though with 4 of them being £11) however the Duck was quite bland with the sauce not adding much taste at all, being priced at £21 I thought the quality would be better. Atmosphere was distinctly bar-like and not Spanish in anyway. Service was acceptable, however they tried to cheekily add a 10% service charge for the bare minimum; Unless you get amazing service take it off if you get the charge. Overall I wouldn’t recommend, only reason I am giving this three stars is because of the quality of the croquettes - damn expensive though.

Great food and atmosphere for Valentines day dinner. The staff were all great and the food was amazing. The Valentines day menu was great value for money considering the quality you get.

Our now favourite in Watford. Lovely service, all outstanding staff. Food and drinks were awesome, quality of the food was by far the best we have had in recent months, aswell as the portion sizes are good. Great gluten free options for my other half, Salmon nigiri was super! We will be back!

Lovely restaurant with great food

Food was tasty and well seasoned but portions were mean. £24 for four measly lamb chops was not good value.

Unfortunately I have to give a 1 star review . The service was extremely slow , no one came to check if we wanted more drinks . For the first time in my life , my mains were forgotten about . We arrived around 19:00 . Had drink and some tapas starters all fine . Got to about 20:40 . I asked where is my main to be told the kitchen had forgotten it . How no member of staff had even clocked us sitting there and not noticed no mains . Amazes me .

The food here is amazing, so flavoursome. Menu is well priced and the staff are so professional and lovely. Would recommend the BBQ half/full chicken. 10/10 - would go back

Bit late with my review. Had our family Christmas dinner here. Prebz was great at communication leading up to the event and worked out a menu to suit our budget. There were 33 of us including children. Family really enjoyed it and the food was great. Especially loved the starters. Staff worked very hard and were accommodating to our needs and the restaurant was packed. I was impressed. Thanks 🙏

My kids took me here for my Birthday, fantastic food, great cocktails and friendly staff that were attentive, fun and went above and beyond to make my evening enjoyable. Even down to the Dirty Martini's. Everything we ordered was delicious

Best restaurant in watford so far with live DJ playing cool tunes. Limited menu with variety of options which was great and the food was nice. To cap it off the in house DJ knew his stuff and had people dancing in their sits and in the restaurant. Also has a great bar with lots of drinks options. Great atmosphere, great food, drinks and restaurant. I can’t wait to visit again.

If you are gluten free I wouldnt bother going there, not much choice. Very overpriced i feel , for what you get.

Everything I ordered was 10/10 and I’m usually quite picky with how I like my food cooked but everything was great. The service was great.. accommodating to my 2 kids (high chairs and kids menus) very friendly and polite staff. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Coming back this Saturday so looking forward to it !

Greeted at the door by a super nice guy, waitress was very attentive. Ordered the T-bone steak (medium) with peppercorn sauce and truffle mash. Steak was decently cooked, not very well seasoned but forgivable. The peppercorn sauce was the worst, watery, very thin, split, not seasoned, I didn’t realise at first and poured the mess on my steak, ruining it. The mash was ok, again little seasoning.

Hands down the best restaurant I’ve ever been to, the food the service the drinks all just out of this world we couldn’t stop ordering all the drinks we wanted to try them all untill we burst and rolled home. Just absolutely delicious thank you for having us :)

Really nice decor and staff. Food was really nice but portions are small and it’s expensive for the size. It’s the sort of restaurant you visit and think “that was nice, but not quite worth the money and I don’t think I’ll go back”.

The food was so delicious! Great flavor, plenty to eat with each portion and reasonably priced. We loved the Yellowtail Carpaccio, lamb chops, the 8 hour short rib, topped off with the burnt basque cheesecake and French toast. All beautifully presented too! We would definitely come again to try the rest of the menu!

undercooked steak when asked for medium rare, but otherwise very nice food. Lunch menu is £19 now, which is also more than their menu says on maps. very nice truffle mash. Spanish cheese platter was a bit lacking. Go for the peppercorn sauce instead, chimichuri sauce was too vinegary.

I’m not sure what to make of a restaurant which sprinkles a selection of Japanese plates upon Spanish tapas but features steaks, sea bass fillet and beef short rib amongst its mains. I suppose eclectic is the best way to describe its menu. Judging by both the Friday evening DJ and the attention given to two young women diners this lunchtime I imagine it seeks to cater for a young hip clientele. Design is warehouse chic with banauette seating towards the back. The £16 lunch menu (starter, main and side) is quite a steal. I was impressed by a creamy risotto with mushrooms and onions, followed by a sliced bavette steak with moderately chunky chips. Better still moderately priced wine by the glass as well as a £4 Spanish style cheesecake with fruit coulis was also on offer. What’s not to like?

My partner & I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Humo. It was the first time trying Humo and it’s great to have a trendy restaurant offering like this in Watford! It brings a London feel which is what we’re always wanting on the high street! The restaurant itself is quite small so be prepared to sit rather close to your neighbours but this doesn’t create an issue or spoil the vibe. Its dark interior creates quite a romantic setting. The food was delicious, we tried the beef croquettes & beef bone marrow to start which was very tasty! We then had the beef short rib and Miso Aubergine for main; again both very tasty - only feedback would be that there needs to be more sauce with the beef short rib as it comes with rice and was a bit dry at times and the aubergine is very spicy so if you’re not a fan of spice, please be aware! In terms of the cocktails - these were 10/10. I tried the Pineapple Martini mocktail and it was delicious as well as aesthetically pleasing to the eye! Overall we will deffo be back to enjoy more items off the menu! Thanks Humo!

I would highly recommend this place perfect for Christmas party's and all other occasions. Staff so nice and very helpful. Plus the atmosphere was spot on for what we wonted. I will definitely be going back and recommending. Thankyou for an excellent night.

Absolutely amazing! Everything we ate (we tried ALOT) was amazing. We had a reservation at 7.30 and stayed til it closed ordering multiple times and didn't once feel rushed or like anything was any trouble. Saturday night atmosphere was great, everything was just brilliant, will 100% be returning at any excuse!

Try the beef croquettes they were amazing! Sharing food is great, great atmosphere but they could of done better with the service it was very bit and miss for a Saturday night Tables are spacious and decor is modern Owner did the rounds across the tables & added a shot in for us upon paying the bill! My wife and I walk past the restaurant regularly but never walk in since the cuisine type is different and we are quite vanilla! Lunch for £16 was all the convincing we needed to give it a go and wow....the quality of food and service...

Fantastic place for an evening dinner!

Had a great evening at Fumo last night- 13 of us, so big table to manage but food was delicious. We tried all the starters and WOW! Main courses were so well cooked, jerk chicken was really tasty and plenty of it and French toast biscoff desert… divine. Great atmosphere- do hit the mark everytime.

Firstly, the service was excellent, staff were friendly and attentive. The ambience was great, stylish decor with unintrusive music and low lighting, I'd go as far to say this is Watford's most sophisticated venue. Food was beautifully presented and well cooked and the cocktails delicious.

Amazing experience at Humo Watford - first time dining. For starters I had the yellowtail carpaccio, beef croquettes and chicken gyoza. All dishes were clearly freshly prepared, awesome presentation and unique flavours. The mains were also brilliant. I hear steak is the speciality here but...

Amazing!! Cocktails are strong and delicious, especially the jalapeño margaritas. The food is really high quality and unique flavours. I would highly recommend the croquette and yellowtail carpaccio. And the desserts are worth staying for, the cheesecake was unreal! Definitely a date night staple for my husband and I.

We went here last Saturday. The welcome was amazing and we were shown to our table immediately despite being early. The atmosphere was great and we enjoyed the selection of music, maybe a little loud for my middle-aged ears, but not too loud that we couldn't talk to each other. We ordered a round of the Spanish tapas and some wine and were very pleased with the the taste and portion size. After a gap we ordered some of the more Japanese style dishes, the bao buns deserve a particular mention. We were able to stay and finish our wine without being hassled out of the restaurant. Definitely a night to remember. To finish I'll just say that I won a voucher to pay for part of the meal, kindly donated by the management to assist a good cause. I'd like to thank them for their generosity and say we'll be back.
