Kokoro in Watford

Great lunch spot with branches across London. Reasonably priced, decent quality sushi, katsu, noodles etc. Does the job!

Very generous portion sizes and always delicious. I almost always come here when I visit Atria. The katsu curry and teriyaki chicken are my favourites

I’ve found that the quality of kokoro, not just this branch has dropped recently. Still great value for the price.

Food was a bit cold and not nice taste. Staff don't clean the tables enough.

Consistently good food every single time. Cannot go wrong with this place. Reasonably priced too for a big portion. Would recommend the sweet and chilli chicken with rice their sushi is also top quality.

Food taste is not the same as before. I am one of the regular customers. Their fried chicken and curry sauce taste so mild. I can promise you can make a better one at home.

I have been eating in Kokomo for some time now, they always served fresh food! I had never tried to have food delivered from Deliveroo!… Nevertheless it was late and I decided to have sushi, was cold and I decided to try to have it delivered at home! The sushi boxes that didn’t contained avocado was yummy and properly packed and fresh! The avocado hosomaki wasn’t as fresh as you would expect it! At first I saw some brown around the avocado until I decided to actually open the sushi in half to see what the brown thing was!… And the food wasn’t as fresh as you go in the actual restaurant, as previously I had tried it there. The avocado was brown! The rice was as brown containing a rotting and brown avocado inside. I don’t know how long had been sitting there in the shelf or how old the avocado was, but they “KOkORO” as a REVIEWER I would never expect that KOKORO would deliver a box containing avocados in that state. Specially when I always make food reviews. And I mean I have been reviewing restaurants for a long time. But I have never, have seen anything like that served to public before. Nevertheless here is the review they so much deserve it. Neither I have given stars so low in these 6 years I have been giving reviews to restaurants and gastronomies of the world. So KOKORO. Serve fresh food delivered next time. Yours Gastronomia do Mundo.

Best place to have sushi and hot food Staff are very friendly

Unfortunately the teriyaki chicken noodles were very very disappointing. Just tasted sweet with lack of taste. Also the chicken tasted strange… The ambiance is really nice and sushi looks good although not tasted it, but was disappointed.

One of my favourite place to grab a quick but warm lunch or dinner when on the go. Love the food and is reasonably priced. Service is not bad but not great either, they just want to serve your food as fast as possible and get on to the next customer.

Unfortunately soup was like warm. I sent it back and was still only warm.

Love the food, you can tell its cooked fresh, taste delicious, always buy whenever i am in town. Good value for money, portion sizes are great. I share mine with my child. I dont mind cleaning the table myself before eating. Love the whole experience and eating with my chop sticks! Love the food and flavours. Thank you :)

popped in to get some food in a work break, the lady was nice enough, the food was good but not presented in the best way… a decent and clean kokoro chain

Went to Watford Palace Theatre 🎭 just before the production popped into this place get some food. Not very busy got served quickly the cashier was helpful. The food was ok had sweet Chilli with rice (the regular box) the box full and good value for money £7.75 but the 500ml bottle of Coke was an eye watering £1.99 spice level for the chicken was medium hot not sure if I would have it again.

Place was soo dirty and filthy. Every single table had some dirth on. The restauran wasn't busy, staff was having a chat not bothered at all... Food not bad, but definitely not for eat in... At least put some music on...

The food portion is fine but the noodles are really dry and greasy from chicken/pork etc. Feeling sick after half portion. 😏 Chicken katsu salad is tasty but hardly find a salad in it. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I we buy two large rice and get just one as both were half empty, they cheated and did not sell what is on the website, missing half of the food, not recommended they cheated when my husband does not look at what they doing, as he looks at the shishi. It's disgust. They charge more for large and give small.

Cold food, no flavour, slow staff that seem lost and confused, and a small sauce for £1.20 when you can get a full litre bottle for a lot less.

Atmosphere that of a supermarket more than a restaurant as most customers take away. Sushi pretty good but miso soup lacks body and bite. Acceptable but not the best option n Watford.

This is a great naughty but not too naughty take away option. The portion sizes are huge and can easily be split between two and the food is consistently good.

The portions of the food were satisfying. Actually I could say that they were more than enough. I could have eaten the same plate for second time. The taste was alright but it reminded me of fast food chains like McDonald's. The tables weren't so clean. Staff did the job appropriately but nothing extraordinary. Finally I could say that the prices were low and very affordable.

very rude service, food almost cold, do not recommend to anyone

After ordering food, wanting to pay for it in cash, I got a refusal and the lady at the checkout said that she couldn't do anything else and with all the people in the queue she normally confirmed that she had to throw the food in the garbage. Ecology with fascism, they take away people's choice and freedom, I was a regular customer, from today I don't buy in these stores anymore and I will persuade others not to buy food there. I definitely do not recommend it.

Very tasty lunch, although the rice was unusually stodgy. The salmon and chicken Katsu were great, with the medium being a big portion. That said, would eat there again.

The food chicken katsu carry and another four meals I bought was heated in the microwave and I think is too pricey as food from a microwave.

Orderer takeaway arrived 40 mins later COLD and disgusting, will never order from them again….. waste of money

It's OK for something quick to grab but I wouldn't ever plan to go there.

Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of food but highly recommend it. Once again I was there and again food was delicious😋 but tables need to be more often cleaned

Really nice place to sit down and enjoy a really well prepared chicken katsu with rice! It is very filling and tastes delicious. The staff here are also wonderful! Very generous portions and even a place to charge your phone! 5 stars all around

We had sweet and sour chicken with noodles and sushi, the sushi rice was over cooked, and the avo too hard to eat and I had to take it out before I could eat it. The noodles were dead average. The tables were filthy... The service was pretty good and quick though, but that's about it.

The most rudest staff I have ever dealt with. Lying with the prices as on the big menu board the prices are one and then on their little hot food area window they had very small, smudged prices that are higher than on their menu board and when questioned about it the staff became very rude, no customer service whatsoever, not even am apology. Disgusting attitude and would not recommend it going there unless you want to over pay and being shouted at by employees!!!!

I went to the shop, tried to order chicken katsu udon soup, one of the staff members told me they don't have any at the moment. Went outside the shop and checked if its available on Deliveroo and what a surprise, it was available so I ordered and got it in 15min which cost me more money. Useless, irresponsible staff who is lying to costumers for reason I really cannot understand,I was regular but will not go back again

The food is good but the service could be better. The tables were all dirty, we asked the staff if they could wipe the tables down twice. They’ve continuously ignored us. As well as this, we had to wait for our food to be served. after repeatedly asking…the reply was 5 mins…the staff remembers have blatantly ignoring their customer requests.

Ridiculous. I've been to Kokoro in Woking, Oxford, Guildford, Clapham, Tooting, Wimbledon, Putney, Richmond, Maidenhead and Maidstone because of work and in those locations I always order one thing - large Tofu Katsu Curry. However, for some reason they refuse to sell Tofu Katsu Curry in Kokoro Watford, and this is where I live! I just want one thing and they can't sell it to me. However, they said if I order it online I can get it delivered. But I can't buy it in store! Bloody ridiculous!!! So that's what I did, however, there was no option to order large. I will keep this one star until I can buy a large Tofu Katsu Curry in my local Kokoro. Bloody ridiculous.

Best fast food lunch time joint. Good food and relative to some places value for money.

Absolutely love the seafood udon soup noodle, love it so so much, and I'm a malaysian foodie so this says a lot. But having that said the place needs some cleaning up as it was quite dorty, not blaming the staff maybe the previous people who ate there are just pigs. And if you were to take away the soup noodles better be sure you're going to eat it soon or just eat in because if you want to pack the soup separately they'll chrge 75p more for the extra container.

The food was very bad quality the portion size was terrible and I felt.ill/unwell the next day..a total. dissapointment

Nice little sushi place that also served hot food, reasonable price and good food. However, the service is slow beyond reasonable. Love coming here for their food, but dislike the CBA attitude of their serving staff. So slow that even sloths are faster than them.

I love this place but do have to wonder why after being open for a couple years now that they still shove everything onto one tv screen then duplicate it on the other. You need binoculars to read the menu! Please split them so one shows your cold menu and one shows your hot menu. Food is awesome as always!

This is one of my favourite places to eat. Good value for money and quantity, I end up going for large as it is about £1 more. As I have IBS I have to be careful with what I have and have really enjoyed the beef bulgi stew and always have noodles. If you come for lunch time it can get very busy but don't let that put you of. The only negative is that some dishes are very saucy and can spill when taking home so be extra careful when carrying

This is my first time at a Japanese fast food restaurant, and I had a good experience. The place suited my vegan daughter and her two children. I was delighted by the beautiful display of the rolls and sushi trays. The grandchildren really enjoyed the miso soup and seaweed salad. I chose a box of a large and tasty combination. The price was cheap and the food was delicious. The noodle portion was average.

Kokoro's food is lovley, it's always fun of flavour, staff are very nice.

Their pumpkin katsu curry is bomb and the spicy tofu! Delicious and tasty, a speedy service.

Been here several times. Food was usually good - but - not the last couple of visits. Went on Saturday 9 July. Avocado - unripe and rock hard. Rice was old and dry. Ginger - old and dry. Salmon tasted of added water. Tuna on display was black. (Looked like it had gone off). Previous visit had little selection so did not purchase. Probably will not return.

Awful slow 1 star customer service chicken Teriyaki horrible dry no sauce like it had been reheated and cooked a week ago won’t ever be returning.

Chicken Teriyaki was a disgrace! Inedible chicken that was tough as old boots and dry! God knows how many days old it was. Never again!

Bought a chicken curry with noodles which was very nice and cost about £7. They do some nice Chinese food to take away or eat in.very reasonably priced.

Nice sushi but not the greatest..bit more expensive than the one in the market..but a good substitute when that one is closed

We ordered a take out last night. The chicken was old and chewy. Absolutely disgusting quality of food. Will not order from here ever again. Not cheap either!

I've only given this Kokoro 2 stars as the service is just so slow. In the middle of lunchtime still only one server. There are 2 tills, why don't they use them as there always seems to be plenty of staff. I never go in now for lunch as uses nearly all my lunchtime waiting to be served. The food is very tasty and filling and pricing not bad.

Rubbish everywhere around the store. Bin fully full. Probably busy Sunday and shortage of staff but not sure. 5 minutes to clear the bin, rubbish and wipe the tables.

Fast service. Good food. You can see your order get prepared right Infront of you.

I've tried many dishes at Kokoro. Their soups and dumplings are top notch. Fresh and boosted with flavour. However, their some of their chicken dishes are a lot to be desired. The sweet & sour or sweet & spicy. I'm not sure what it is but the chicken tastes artificial, under cooked or simply just boiled. Not the biggest fan as I have had better options. Nothing worse then eating food and chewing cautiously to only end up with an upset stomach the next day. Think my last venture here has now been decided. Never again.

The food is great, but the service is extremely poor and slow. They have a queue to the door and only one slow person behind the till! Although the food is good I’m not sure how I feel standing 25 mins in a queue for sushi.

Never go wrong with kokoro fresh food. I wouldn't reccomend the sushi, it always tastes a bit wierd.

Got given the sweet and sour chicken with rice, had it as a takeaway and it tasted like fish. I’ve been here multiple times with only but good reviews but this time it tasted fishy. Would not recommend

Slow service (seemingly unless you've ordered online beforehand), we even had a couple of customers come in after us still served before us. Tables were dirty and hadn't been wiped down, but staff were on their phones in between customers instead. Average food at a reasonable price but not worth the overall experience.

Chilli Tofu just tasted of burning heat. Zero flavour. One teeny piece of carrot, one bit of onion and a random peanut? Absolutely zero love put into this dish. Awful.. Oh and the Gyoza were cold. Utterly disappointing. Wish Id gone to wagamama instead...

Food tastes great however the queue is long and you end up waiting a long time to be served as there is only ever 1 person serving.

Some really amazing food here!!! The rice bowls are an absolute taste sensation and can always be enjoyed, I would highly recommend this place.

I've walked past this place more times than I can count and I've always wanted to try some food from them as I recently started getting into Asian cuisine. Today I finally caved and got the Chicken Katsu. It was delicious and watching the person serving me the food cut the chicken was like watching a kdrama😂 ite cheap too I payed £6.45 while in St.Albans it costs nearly £12. Definitely worth going here!

Went there tonight for a quick meal, as it was fairly quiet inside… we ordered a simple katsu curry which was nice I must say. We went to find a seat but found every table covered in food and rubbish…. It took us to ask the staff to clean the tables… there were lots of staff just stood behind the counter but none doing any cleaning. Even the refrigerated shelves were dirty. Not what I would expect from a place like this… they need to think a lot more about hygiene there…

Prioritizes delivery orders over walk in due to staff shortages, no explanations or apologies. Wouldn't be so annoyed if there was any form of communication instead of letting the queue build all the way out of the door! Walked out around 25 mins into the next available restaurant.

Chicken katsu curry is the top, if you feel really hungry for lunch and you don't want spend too much money this is the place!

I’ve never felt compelled to post feedback before, but couldn’t let this pass. We ordered the hot dish “Vegetable Yakisoba - Kokoro’s signature noodles with vegetables and yakisoba sauce”. We got cold, bland noodles with no vegetables. When we complained we were told that, despite the picture, it is only plain noodles and they only add a little bit of carrots (no sign of even those)!

It's a pay for what you get scenario. A big portion of crispy chicken / turkey covered in sauce with deliciously steamed sticky rice. If your hungry and don't mind fast-food styled produce then it's a good option. It's a once a month kinda place, and not in the sense where it's about affordability. I'm giving it a 4/5 because as a returning customer last time the staff were rude but all other time's it's been quick, easy and simple.

I have ordered chicken bibimbap food taste really nice from top however I was not able to finish meal because of way too much oil 1star.. 😑 Such a pity...

Kokoro - The heart of disappointment. Sadly, my experience here was far from the expectations I had in mind from reading all the reviews. Initially wanted the chicken udon, which was out of stock. So I settled for the chicken katsu curry. The chicken was crispy however the rice was overcooked, the sauce was very basic, not a vegetable in sight which made it a very bland experience. A bowl of crispy chicken and stodge. On top of the poor food, I had to wipe down my own table, and the ambience is what I could akin to being in a morgue. Very sad and frustrating.

Use to be a clean and nice fast food place I used to order delivery quite often. Went there today to get a take out today, found food on their shelves are in a mass, and I can see lots of MOLDS !!on their shelves underneath the glass. It’s so disgusting!! I will report this to the food standards agency.
