Visited at about 7pm on a Friday night, only one waitress who was talking for 5 min as we waited to be seated, running around when we finally got seated and ignored us waiting to be asked if we wanted a drink. Waited 10 minutes and ended up paying for the 3 dishes we grabbed off the belt and left. Ruined our experience and wasted our time. Don't think we will return to this yo sushi or any other

Yo Sushi is a real treat and more of an experience than just a meal out. The menu is superb and there's so much to choose from. The conveyer belts were rammed fully of really nice food that you can pick up as they go post you. It's like nowhere else I've been before. We ordered a vast selection of different pre cooked sushi mixed in with katsu chicken and rice along with a pumpkin dish that was all freshly prepared by Anna who went above and beyond looking after us. Nothing was too much bother. Thankyou so much. We will be back soon👌

Not enough staff working. We waited ages just for our water. Staff were too busy showing each other youtube videos and laughing, rather than actually making food. Tried to complain when we were told a service charge was added, and the server just said ok. Expensive, not worth it. Will not return

This used to be fabulous.. what a let down. Barely any food on the belt, staff didn’t engage with us once, we ordered two hot items that they forgot to prepare and when reminded, got the order wrong. Expensive and abysmal. Don’t waste your time or money. Sent in a complaint to Yo Sushi, they haven’t bothered replying. Says it all

So we ordered a click and collect to grab after Xmas shopping. We collected at 3.30 and didn’t eat until 7. Item missing- husband checked email and refund had just come through. On collection no one mentioned it, so we have no idea of the reason. Bit of a let down for an Xmas treat.

I ordered beef teriyaki. It came and was all fat and mostly inedible. When I asked for the bill the waitress asked if everything was OK. I explained about the beef and was told that's how it comes, it obviously isn't to everyone's taste. We have been to yo sushi before and had the same to eat without a problem. Also not a lot on the belt coming round. But loads of dishes ready on the counter, which were not put on the belt. People were having to ask for them. I def won't return.

Ordered online to collect at 2pm. Arrived at 2pm, advised a member of staff I had an order to collect, showed my order confirmation and provided my order number. This seemed to mean absolutely nothing and I was asked what I’d ordered. I was told it wasn’t ready yet but would be ready soon. While I was waiting a deliveroo driver also arrived to collect an order and was completely ignored for 20 minutes. Again, when he gave the order number it was met with a blank stare and he was asked what he’d ordered, despite him clearly having a deliveroo bag. After waiting for 30 minutes I asked for an update on the order and was asked again what I’d ordered. I was then told my order had never been received. Again I showed the confirmation and the order number. I was asked for a third time what I’d ordered. By this time my patience was wearing thin. I was then asked to look in the fridge where they have pre-prepared boxes to take-away and see if there was one the same as what I’d ordered, which there was. I was told to just take one of these… I certainly won’t be returning.

Went for lunch. Staff very polite and friendly but could be more available. Nice atmosphere. Menu, a lot going on then trying to find the same things on your phone to order was like mission impossible and frustrating. It was good to take things from the revolving belt but I wondered how fresh it all was. The food is ok but didn't come away feeling fully satisfied I'd had a good meal that filled my belly. Was concious of the cost and felt you have to spend a lot of money to have a satisfying meal. Doesn't compare well to other chain restaurants in that respect. Plus ordered food which came without the chips, landing after we finished our sushi. Mcdonalds fries are better tbh. Sadly disappointed. Lovely staff and atmosphere, concept could be better and less complicated, food ok quality but not enough and not value for money. I won't be returning. Thank you

This used to be an exciting brand to eat at with plenty of choice. Now you order on your phone, which takes a long time when you order lots of small dishes. Rice and noodle side dishes have been reduced to just plain steamed rice. When I look at what we had compared to the cost...not impressed.

This used to be our favourite go to in the metro centre however it’s so underwhelming. Firstly the staff, they’re friendly and polite but sort of redundant given you have to order through your phone. Secondly and this is the biggest issue: the menu! DON’T EXPECT THE FULL YO SUSHI MENU… it’s like a skeleton menu. It only offers half of what yo sushi usually offers. That’s the biggest disappointment. We won’t be back as the offering is poor.

Now don't bother, quality poor, service charge due to covid is automatic as you have to pay online and that's why here service is as poor as they clearly don't care as they have their money or tips in the bag. Waited for drinks ages. Had to ask when they finished on their phones too ask for more. Miso soup unlimited, forget as they never ask u for refill. £74 for me and my 2 daughters worst restaurant experience in years. Also noted usually you wait due to popularity...... Loads of seats so customers are doing the same as me.... Avoiding the place!

We usually love this place, it’s all we could talk about for a whole week, we couldn’t wait for A “YO” I understood during covid lockdowns etc no conveyor belt of food, and had to order food over the app, but NOT now 😡😡😡 no temptation of food going past & thinking “Ooh that looks nice” viewing menu & ordering on an iPhone was impossible thank god I had my young daughter with me! The dragon rolls looked nothing like the pics on the website! N a few others also looked nothing like usual we have yo often at Manchester & they don’t compare, oh & you also have to order wasabi & ginger 🙄🙄😡 sorry but won’t be coming back until I find out it’s back to pre covid standard I way as well buy over internet from other establishments! Staff are lovely tho and very helpful there a credit to the chain!!!

We visited the metro centre for the day, my daughter had been to yo sushi and recommended we ate there. Covid restrictions were in place. We were shown to a seat at the counter. We used the app to order the food, we ordered a carafe of water. The chop sticks were dispatched immediately and the food followed. The food was excellent, couldn't fault a thing. Very tasty and not badly priced either. Can definitely recommend this place to try.

Very disappointed with food.Salmon in Maki almost invisible....it was almost only rice. Edamame was so cold thayt was almost frozen without any of the promoted dressing, no sea salt and no spring onions on top.Signature Roll definitely not same as menu picture, thinner, avocado almost invisible and very tiny Tobico. Last time wasting time and money for a pseudo modern sushi restaurant.

We visited here during the eotho scheme and weren't actually aware at first that they were taking part. Due the popularity and last minute plans we had a bit of a queue as they were full but we're fitting tables in between booked slots. Social distancing was as well as can be in such a small area, hand sanitizer on arrival and areas cleaned down well as soon as one party left. Absolutely loved it here, slightly different to normal to what I gather as they can't have the dishes going round now but you scan the code on arrival and order all online. Loved the whole concept, service was excellent and food came fresh, hot and delicious. We tried a variation of different things my favourite was the katsu prawns, so tasty. Fantastic deals at half price and delicious food. Will definitely return and would recommend. If you can book a table as its quite a small place.

After the lockdown, I was eager to have the excitement of the conveyor belt sushi experience... not to my surprise everything’s changed... you order and pay on your phone, the dishes are handed to you and you’re good to go... personally it takes the “uniqueness” to the conveyor belt experience. I went with my husband with the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme... queued about an hour before we could be seated, and ordered several dishes through the app... I truly recommend the salmon selection platter which has sashimi, nigiri salmon maki and Yo! Rolls, all salmon! Love it! The tuna tartare was also really tasty... I could see that the fish wasn’t properly sliced, not even the rolls, they were to thin and the rice was very compact. Chicken katsu curry was lovely, served fresh and still warm to eat. Staff was friendly as always and place was kept clean and tidy.

This was our first visit post-Covid and had the new serving method in operation. So everything was done via my phone (registering the table and ordering). A member of staff did explain it all up front and it all ran smoothly. Order stop at your table and a small light changes from red to green. Quite novel and actually I quite like it. Payment is also done when ordering.As always the food is excellent, but slightly pricey given the portion sizes (some of the roll seem to have been halved, but not quite 2x as many then put on the plate!) But very good quality and the service was all very smooth.

We had about a 20 minute wait for seating but it was half term so we expected it. We went with our two grandsons aged 10 and 14, the staff were excellent with the boys. The food was very good as we had some of the cooked dishes which were served lovely and hot and nicely presented. I had the pleasure(?) of visting both this and the Newcastle branch within 4 days of one another. Chalk and cheese.The Metro centre branch was very good, helpful staff. Seated within 30 seconds of arriving. They did make a blip in the katsu - it was drowned in sauce rather than 'drizzled' as per their menu. Our server changed it immediately and with no fuss whatsoever.I'd taken my young grand-daughter there as a treat after buying her some clothes for an upcoming holiday. We both enjoyed our visit.I'd be more than happy to visit again.

This was my partner's first visit to Yo Sushi and she enjoyed everything we had to eat. Unfortunatley the service was not as good. One member of staff seemed more interested in her phone and the other member seemed to be doing everything. We pressed the attention button but it was ignored. I’m a big fan of Yo Sushi and was looking forward to going. We stood for a good five minutes without being acknowledged. The restaurant had about 10 people sat in total. All 3 empty tables still had plates remaining as did most of the belt spaces. We may have arrived immediately after 3/4 of the restaurant had cleared but the bottom line is: it was empty, looked like prison canteen after a riot and we were left hanging.It’s a competitive market out there and that wasn’t attractive at all for people paying upwards of £40 for a meal. Disappointed as the menu looked great!Nipped over to Zizzis which was heaving and got seated and served straight away

I ordered a chicken and a beef dish. Chicken dish came fast and was delicious.

10 minutes later waitress came to tell me the oven was broken and they couldn’t do the beef dish. I asked for the manager who wasn't in. I asked when did they know the oven was broken because I’ve watched the 2 cooks for last 10 minutes and neither of them seemed to be cooking anything. She said they knew yesterday it was broken and I asked why she didn’t tell me at the beginning to which she said she didn’t know about the oven???? I was confused but asked why no one told her until now, she said she didn't know the answer to that either.I then ordered another chicken dish which came quickly. I told her I'd be putting a complaint in but she didn't seem to care.

On top of that, when I asked for the bill she said she couldn't change my order over so I'd had to sit and wait until the manager arrived. I asked if she was joking and she said no. I told her I'm not waiting, gave her my name and address and left. So I now have to go back there to pay my bill.

Not only does the dish appear to have changed dramatically the standard and about of chicken served have reduced.I don't know if this is a one off but when you're positioned right next to a Wagamama, I know where I'd be going in the future

Choose food from the cooked to order menu. Decided to choose a few things off the belt while we waited. 20 minutes later we noticed other peopleGetting their food but not us. So we asked a waitress what was happening, she apologised and said they had forgot our order. We were frustrated and explained to the waitress, so we agreed notTo pay for the food we had to wait for but for the belt food. They then brought us a selection of deserts on the house. Haven’t been for a while and thought it had improved since my last visit. Kids eat free all holidays-great stuff and the chef gave my daughter some cucumber treats while he was preparing them. Really friendly waiter and food as lovely as ever. Tasty, fast and cheap- what more can you ask for? I’m addicted to the katsu curry and California rolls. My daughter likes everything that passes on the belt.

I used to love Yo Sushi!, I used to go every time I went to the Metro Centre. I hadn't been for a while, but I visited the Metro Centre yesterday and went for a late lunch at Yo Sushi!. What an awful experience, the menu has been pared to the bare minimum, none of the few remaining things I enjoyed were not available due to a supply issue.

Stopped by for lunch with the other half because he fancied sushi, it's not somewhere I'd ever been before and I was expecting outrageous prices and a need for a burger within an hour. I was completely mistaken. Prices are incredibly reasonable, especially the miso soup, and we found that the soup, 2 hot dishes and 3 cold picked off the belt between the both of us had us comfortably full and incredibly satisfied with the flavour and experience overall.

We as a family eat here quite regularly and sometimes with friends. Staff are friendly and helpful and food is a good variety and value for money. Desserts are amazing too! Great to drop in for lunch or tea. Definitely recommend.

Been going to here for a few years and looked forward to our week trip through. I average spend £100. Due to circumstance haven't been able to get through for a few months so we were really looking forward to it. Wow how things have gone down hill. Yo Sushi rolls a slither of its former self with could hardly see the masago. No Tuna Maki anymore. And the sashimi tuna and salmon we got were silvers of poor quality. Actually I could go on as not one dish was of good quality. Mostly I was embarrassed for your staff as they know how you are cutting costs but keep high prices. Can't fault service at all as they are as always outstanding and such a shame that you have to pu them in this position so shame on you. I won't be returning as there are better places to go to.

My girlfriend and I went to Yo Sushi for lunch after an early morning shopping stint - we were served by Chris, top bloke! Very friendly, left a very good & friendly impression of himself. Food was excellent as well. 5/5, highly recommend!

They brought back the coriander seared tuna! My favourite thing in the menu as someone who isn't a huge fan of a lot of sushi. I was a bit gutted they apparently ran out of noodles as I wanted to try their ramen, but my usual katsu curry was good as ever. My partner ordered the salmon platter which was nice, however they charge a £5 premium for eating in as they have the same thing on their takeaway fridge for 8 quid. The food is really good but a few things this time just knocked a bit of the shine off the usual 4 stars.

I've never been to Yo Sushi before, I noticed the green Wednesday offer had returned so decided to give it a go. The three serving staff serving that night were amazing and so helpful in explaining everything and checking we were okay. The first lady informed me that if I spent over £10 that my daughter ate for free which I thought was great. We got loads of different green Wednesday dishes and every one of them was delicious and such a flavour sensation, especially the sweet potato Katsu curry which was a great portion for the price. I got the mushroom ramen that was a little pricier but they had no mushrooms left so added in a couple of dumplings instead which were also delicious. Overall the service and food were above and beyond what I expected and I will 100% return to try some other tasty dishes.

I went to Yo Sushi tonight with a friend. As the restraunt was so busy, there was hardly any sushi circulating on the belt and the dishes that were circulating were unappealing dishes such as aubergine or edamame beans. When ordering from the menu from a staff member, the “help” button did not work so you had to catch them vocally which took up to 15 mins. Upon ordering, it took over 30 mins for each dish to leave the kitchen which is unacceptable. I was in the restraunt for 2 and a half hours as it took that long for dishes to circulate that I liked and food to be ordered. Even upon ordering food, it arrived cold and the noodles were so rubbery I actually had to return them! I have not been to yo sushi in years, and had very fond memories of the restraunt, but I would never return after my experience this evening.

Food was good as always! Blue Mondays are a total recommendation, however dont expect most staff to be as happy as you would hope as they are rushed off there feet due to how busy it becomes! Special service recieved of Rob on blue monday, an absolute delight, not seen without a smile and went out his absolute way for any requests! An asset to the company! Manager was also so nice, and spoke sooo highly of Rob which shows it wasnt just today he was a delight! Will be back and will recommend! Thank you Rob

I’d passed this place dozens of times in the last three years, and always it’s a passing interest. Not this time however, as I’d switched on to healthy eating, and I was aware that most, if not all Japanese food is healthy. On this occasion there was an offer on of over 60 dishes at three pounds each, and I chose the squid and veg dough balls, with a portion of spicy Japanese chips, and pleasantly, a good mid glass of Malbec, which was surprisingly good, and at just the right temperature. The dough balls were beautifully cooked with a wonderful texture, and the skinnie fries were a revelation. The waiter that cajoled me inside was exceptional....never overbearing, but on hand when I needed to navigate a strange menu. This 60 dishes for £3 is on every Monday and I shall be there before my cinema visit.....great place for pre cinema food,or even people watching

I'm a very infrequent visitor to yo sushi. I'm not 100% sold on sushi or sashimi but my partner loves it. The good thing about Yo is I can have a katsu or a teriyaki sumo bowl or a bowl of ramen and try some little bits of sushi. All the while the better half can eat as much sushi as she can afford.

We have been here twice in a week so it can’t be blamed on a bad night. The prices just keep going up. A few stems of broccoli for £4?. Rolls chewy and tasted like they had been circulating a while- not fresh. A lot of food covered in mayo now. Not healthy. Had veg rice one visit and salmon other And was tasteless. Hardly any veg. Really poor salmon dark ends used. No prawns as well. Probably stick to Nudo takeaway.

As an avid Yo Sushi goer I try and visit different Yo Sushi’s. This was my first visit to Metrocentre on 28/12/18. It was busy when I arrived and I sat at the bar and ordered my drink. I had to wait for my two favourite dishes of Endame and Seaweed to appear but could see them being prepared. I then ordered Yo fries, prawn gyoza and pumpkin katsu. The chefs in the kitchen looked extremely busy and I sat watching them prepare a range of different dishes. A few people around me were complaining about how long there orders were taking, it turned out they were two chefs down. This gave more insight to the lack of consistency on the conveyor. My three ordered dishes arrived quickly once the kitchen caught up and I enjoyed them. This wasn’t the best Yo Sushi I have tried, but given the staffing issue I would give it another go in the future.

I’ve been here a number of times over the years and have mostly enjoyed the sushi and maki rolls. However, over recent years the quality of the food in terms of presentation has really gone down hill. It’s still really tasty but for the price that it is, I expect a certain quality. I know that it’s the sushi equivalent of Burger King, but the rest of the market has caught up with these guys and I think they’ve just dropped the ball while others have moved ahead. The staff are usually friendly and helpful, and the the best thing about the whole concept of Yo Sushi is that it could act as a gateway to better sushi and sashimi for young people. One other bad thing about today was that they were clearly under staffed, the fryer was off so some menu options weren’t available (2nd visit running) although that didn’t bother us as we only have sushi roll dishes - but the worst thing about today’s visit was the fact there was food going around the conveyer belt that was 30 mins out of time/date l/past best. We had one dish like this and to be fair the server knocked off the price of one dish but it just feels the place is in decline overall.

We went to Yo Sushi, almost by accident... I know, how can you go to a restaurant by accident!, but we planned to eat in an Asian fusion food place almost opposite but decided to try here instead, my wife having had a poor experience of Sushi in Japan. She took a little persuading but I had tried Yo Sushi in Florida a few years ago and found the experience different, but It was a way to see what appeals and have that or choose from a menu, rather than dishes as they float past. Several plates later, Mrs.H was a fan of 90% of what we chose.........different ? yes, completely.. Japanese cuisine? No, but an enjoyable change and small enough portions so that if you make a less good choice for you, you haven't spent a fortune and feel forced to eat it..... Food is fresh and the flavours are delicious and light.

There are less dishes on the belt, the prices have gone up and the portions are smaller. Staff are not as attentive as previous visits and the overall ambience is poor. Shame though as the first few years it was open it was great.

The convenience of Yo Sushi is always a massive advantage when it comes to wanting to eat and move on a little quicker than usual, located so closely to the cinema it’s an ideal quick pit stop prior to watching a film. The sushi is always very good and the food cooked to order is very tasty too. I ordered the teriyaki beef which arrived a bit cooler than I expected but the staff were only too happy to warm my meat up by re-doing the dish. I would highly recommend the squid and cod which were amazing but the duck gyoza served with the plum sauce was also very good. All in all a very good quick meal of sticky rice, sticky plum sauce resulting in sticky fingers all in 30 minutes before even getting to the cinema.

I love Yo Sushi but I didn’t have a good experience today. If your food arrives and looks nothing like it does on the menu or taste very fresh it shouldn’t be a problem to question it or hand it back. To be asked ‘what’s wrong with it?’ when ‘what’s wrong’ is obvious is not great. Will use the one in Newcastle in future.

Today, around 7:30 pm I went to this shop to get my dinner on the way back and there was this guy, blonde and short hair, who ask us to wear masks which unfortunately we didn't have with us because my girlfriend, my brother and I we were out for a walking with no plans to go in any shops. So it was a last-minute thing. Anyway he raccomend us to bring mask next time and so far nothing bad but we noticed how his voice has changed and how much annoyed he was, we noticed his body language was so bad to let feel us uncomfortable. When my girlfriend accidentally put a box back in a wrong place he came out straight away just to show her that she made a mistake. I understand it's hard time for all, maybe we wronged about not bring us with us our masks but It wasn't intentionally but this is not the right way to treat your customers. Best regards
