Had to be sure before making this review, but definitely got food poisoning after eating here. Staff gave poor service, which has happened on multiple occasions. I even saw one member of staff coughing into his hand and not washing them afterwards and coughing over a stack of plates he was carrying. I stopped eating after seeing that, put me right off. I’d suggest avoid as it’s not worth it, and I will definitely not be returning. If you want yo sushi, better off getting it from the supermarket.

Usually great but has seen to have taken a downturn in recent months. I tend to order click and collect so I can pick up and go, but am often found waiting 20+ minutes for my order despite ordering an hour in advance. Staff are clearly overworked and understaffed as I see no more than 2 waiters each time I go.

Excellent and freshly prepared food with speedy service. Reasonable value considering sushi is expensive anyway. However the last two times we've been, the place has been filthy. The bar, cutlery, and menus were all dirty and sticky. Seems the place doesn't have enough waiting staff to clean up between customers.

I visited here a few weeks ago for bottomless sushi, the service was very slow, the belt was great when we first got there but as it got closer to 8pm there was just less and less sushi, a couple of odd bits like mochi were added but only enough for whoever grabbed it first… the selection was very poor! lots of green beans going round. The AC was on full blast and it was freezing as I was sat directly under it, the women next to me asked for it to be turned down as she was pregnant and they barely touched it…. It didn’t seem any different. I’d visit again however they really need to improve their service and the sushi selection on bottomless sushi night.

Whether novice or experienced in Japanese cuisine this is a great place to dine. It's not cheap and if you like the cooked to order dishes it adds up quickly. Mainly bar dining and personally I prefer to get a table. Consistently good quality. Disappointed that teriyaki salmon no longer on the menu. High bar seating not accessible for less able people

It looks good in the photo. However, it is some cold rice taken out from the fridge, plus a piece of warm fish on top. The worst sushi in Norwich. High price, low quality. I tried all other sushi places including dine-in and takeaway, this one is seriously the worst. Even the Sainsbury’s takeaway one is fresher than this. The menu is very dirty, oil, sticky stuff on it. The service speed is slow.

We have been coming here for years, but our last 3 experiences mean we won't come again. The food is good, but not what it was. The staff are nice but they take too many delivery orders so can't provide a decent service. Our meal took nealry 2 hours. 15+ min wait to order, then took over an hour for food to come. Hardly anything on the belt the whole time. Daughter's order shouldn't have chillies, but it did, but she didn't want to wait another hour. Took age to pay the bill. Sorry, Yo, but you're not what you once were.

Had a great evening doing the Bottomless Sushi last night (25/07/24). The booking system made some errors, so it was incredibly busy but the staff handled it so well. We were the last table to be sat, so there wasnt tonnes of food left on the belt. Brandon then asked us if there was anything in particular we would like, which he made for us! The food was great as always, but wouldve been nothing without the staff. Jack did such a great job at the front, being so welcoming and fair with the booking system. When he had to turn people away, he did it so kindly - i dont think the people were that annoyed! Thank you once again to a the remaining staff: Tanya, Fen, Ella and Hector who made the evening so enjoyable! Great work - keep it up!

If I could give 0 stars I would, table booked for 7:15, was told we had to wait an extra 15 minutes, got sat down at around 7:50. Got seated at the very end of the belt and watched the same plates of green beans go round and round, my partner and I had 5 plates each and suddenly nothing more was coming around, staff are overworked and underpaid, we ended up paying just over £70 whilst other people sat at the start of the belt ate 10x more than us and still paid the same price, when I asked about the price and pointed this out I was told we couldn’t do anything about it. Absolute rip off, honestly don't bother going.

Staff were lovely however definitely felt overworked. As far as the bottomless belt goes nothing really bottomless about it as there was barely any sushi going round, to the point of seeing the same beans and seaweed salad go round multiple times. Distribution of plates was terrible with people at the front getting plenty of plates but those of us at the back left with all the leftovers. Waited half an hour over our booking before we were eventually sat down. The place could’ve definitely been more organised and prepared for something as hyped up as the bottomless belt. Such a shame as I’ve previously only had good experiences of Yo! Sushi. Safe to say I’ll be less likely to choose this chain over an independent sushi shop.

i came to this establishment for a quick and easy lunch, the place was lacking in atmosphere, and i had to wait 15 to get sat down, even though there was plenty of empty seats and the restaurant was quiet. Once seated, i looked at the menu and waited 15 mins before being seen. The staff didn’t see bothered and it took over 30 mins for half of the food to come out and still no drinks. I had to remind the staff about the rest of the food and missing drinks. I then saw the chef preparing food for himself, even though the rest of my food had not arrived. Just don’t go …

We are usually big Yo fans but today’s experience was awful . The restaurant was fairly quiet so we asked if we could have a table seat instead of the bar but were told they were all reserved. We were then sat by the bar under an air conditioning unit which was freezing , asked if we could move but told they would turn the air down rather than move us . 10 mins later a walk in was sat at the table that was supposedly reserved which we were told we couldn’t have . Service was poor and we weren’t checked on once . The food took ages and was not great and only 3 choices of dishes going around the belt . I then realised there was a vermin trap right by our feet . At which point we left . Generally the restaurant looks a bit grubby now and the quality has taken a big hit .

Wasn't too busy only a few tables Could not fault the kitchen and food it was all lovely 😋 Issue was waiting around 20 minutes to even have our drink and food order taken when they said they'd be back in a couple minutes When it came to paying took over 30 minutes and that was only because we finally caught another servers attention who kindly helped straight away. The tables also weren't being cleaned after people had left either leading to the server acting like it was a big deal they had to clean them so others could sit down it's also unhygienic Very disappointed as this is the second time with this exact server I've experienced these issues with

Hadn't visited for quite a few years, my son picked this over Wagamamas and wanted to try some new food and due to previous positive experiences myself I said yes. Katsu Chicken was just ok, the sauce was quite runny with not a lot of flavour. Hoisin Duck loaded fries were nice as was the chicken in a chilli sauce. Prawn crackers were soggy. Edamame beans were inedible, we ate 2 and left the rest of the bowl on the table, was surprised they didn't ask if everything was ok (but also appreciate I could have saia something but felt awkward). Was undercharged which was only picked up because I asked for a receipt then they noticed (I wasn't aware as I assumed they'd charged me correctly anyway). I was initially aware because they stood very close to the table talking about it and laughing about who would have the conversation about needing to ask me for more money. Made me feel really uncomfortable. No problem at all needing to pay more but at least be professional about it and not stand near the table and laugh. Really disappointing.

Popped in the other day with my friend for lunch before going shopping, the staff were very friendly and helpful quickly helped us get a table after a few moments of walking in the door, the waiter who took our order was very courteous and helpful, the place itself was very clean with an open plan kitchen and all the food was made fresh to order which was very nice to see, the fresh food lead to a wonderful dining experience the food was absolutely lush, including the bits that we picked off the conveyor belt that went by which had some very nice looking food on it, definitely well worth visiting if you like Japanese food there is more to it then just sushi! Everything was on point and absolutely lush we will definitely visit again when we are next in Norwich 5 stars all the way!

Always have good food here. My other half loves Sushi and I hate it. So it's a good place for him to get his raw fish fix and me to be able to eat lots of other dishes, the street food options are great The food is always very tasty and fresh, and the service is great. This rating would be 5 stars, but it isn't cheap and I'm sorry but £6 for a SMALL bottle of beer is a ridiculous price. Two people for lunch cost us £75 and we had one small bottle of beer each and 6 white dishes. It was good, but it is a lot of money for lunch... So I would recommend, but we don't come here often because of the price.

I’m sorry but I have to say this but Norwich Yo Sushi was absolutely filthy when I went at lunchtime last week. The cutlery was dirty, plates were dirty, the clear plastic domes that covered the food looked old and dirty and after I paid the bill there was a piece of snot on my hand horrible place sorry. The ginger and wasabi and soya sauce containers bottles were also filthy.

I don't normally review a chain unless they're either really, really poor or exceptional, luckily Yo! were amazing. Food - It is what it is, it's freshly made sushi, it looks like sushi, it's all made fresh, it tastes fresh and they make it all day right in front of you, they chuck it on the conveyor belt and it makes it's way round, from there you can pick it up or you can order on the app, it will come to your table and wait for you to grab it. - As well as traditional sushi they offer vegetarian and meat sushi, they also offer a range of hot foods now including noodles, curry and meat on a stick. They do seasonal foods, right now it's a few Christmas themed sushi rolls. They've also rolled out bento boxes for children. Service - ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT! This is what made it for me. I have an onion allergy, as it's not on the standard list of allergies the server spoke to the chefs who told me not to take things off the belt and instead to order through the app and they would make it specially for the table. We only had to do this once however as the chef working next to us started taking our orders personally. When we ordered something which wouldn't work without onion he was frank and honest and offered to make an alternative. This is how you do service for people with allergies. Atmosphere and amenities - it's a chain restaurant so don't expect anything fancy, we were lucky to get a booth but if they're busy there is bench seating at the back. It's always worth booking ahead or you might have a wait. - Seating isn't particularly wheelchair accessible, there is a low bench but they generally use it for deliveroo so... Might be a bit awkward, that said they do have a disabled toilet on the ground floor and the entry to the restaurant is level access. - Parking is readily available in Chantry Place and Chantry car park.

Came here for a Yo sushi school, was a really great experience and we revived so much sushi! But what really made me write this review was the really great service we got from the staff especially Bailey (who was teaching us how to make sushi) and the front of house who were accommodating us for the event. They had some really great chat and made the experience that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend!!

Guys, you are making fun of your customers! 😡😡😡 we've just ordered a 40£ meal by going large for all of them, and we received even less than a regular one, no sauces for the sushi, the chicken and noodles in the chicken yakisoba and beef teriyaki are almost missing ... is this a joke or are you just abusing of your online customers ? As this is not the first time when you are doing this ! If you have the large option, your customers are definitely expecting a larger portion than the normal one !!! The taste is good, but unfortunately we were unhappy too many times, 2 customers less from now on, shame on you ! 😡🤮

So I’ve always loved Yo! It’s been one of the more expensive places to eat but always well worth it. However, I’ve not been in about a year due to having a baby. So I decided to treat my wife for our anniversary to a baby free evening meal at Yo! The first thing that I noticed was that the prices had shot up considerably. Yes I know everything has gone up, but last time I went, the Korean chicken was about £4.50 for example. On this visit, it’s shot yo to around £7.50 ish? Now….. as we all know, the servings are amazing quality but quite small. We used to go and spend maybe £50-£60 and come out feeling full and satisfied. This time, we left when we hit £70 and couldn’t actually afford to have anymore even though we could have easily managed it. The prices have gone up that much! The food is great quality but unfortunately, to me, it’s now not great value for money anymore. The Yo! Fries for example used to be about £2.90 but even they are now nearly £5! It’s just not an affordable place to go and eat now. Which is such a shame because it’s always been amazing. Then I wasn’t best pleased when the waitress quite loudly in-front of other customers, asked if “we were ok to pay the service charge”. Normally you’d just be handed the card terminal and it would be discreet as to weather you wanted to press green or red on the service charge. I felt like I had to say yes so ended up paying an extra £4.70 for that. All in all we spent £75.00 on what would have cost a year ago maybe £45-£50 worth of food and no service charge pushed upon us. So it was a McFlurry on the way home for us rather than some of Yo’s delicious desserts as it just wasn’t affordable. We also had a blue light card which they wouldn’t accept on a Saturday (but fine every other day of the week). Bit gutted as Yo! Has always been our favourite.

We visited Yo! in Norwich to celebrate my husband’s birthday on a busy Saturday and had a fantastic experience! The staff, from manager Sally to waitress Sam and the rest of the team, offered exceptional customer service. I went with a friend as i had quite a good experience last time however this time i wasn’t satisfied. I only eat chicken so i initially found it hard to know what food is what as there’s no label or anything you just have to guess by the tiny photos on the menu. There was also only about 4 options to choose from on the belt and you are unable to order anything from the menu which makes the menu seem pointless, why give us a menu if half of it isn’t an option. There was only one waiter on the floor who was doing deliveries so it was hard to get his attention. I would like for it to be improved as i can see people who are vegetarian especially will struggle.

I took my two children to Yo for lunch. We are vegetarian but the menu seemed to have lots of veggie options. My children were quite excited about choosing dishes from the conveyer belt style bar. I asked how we knew which were vegetarian and was told that they only had a flag on the vegan duck as they didn't have enough flags so we would have to look at the moving dishes and compare them to the thumbnail sized pictures on the menu before selecting. We decided to eat elsewhere as this seemed completely impractical and we didn't want to risk eating meat.

I really liked the delicious sushi and it was very nice to have unlimited/refillable miso soup. However, I think that sushi rice shouldn't be eaten away from sushi. It shouldn't be with teriyaki because sushi rice is very different to normal rice, and it just doesnt go with teriyaki. Apart from that, it was all delicious and nice and me and my family really enjoyed it.

Used to love this place. Had lunch on my Wife's birthday and had to wait outside to be seated inside. No wine available?? Your no longer allowed to order cold food so if a vegetarian take pot luck. No button for service, you have to scan a bar code or something. Not enough staff so people waiting outside for five minutes and then when it's time to settle up they don't take cash!!! The food was lovely and the too few staff were welcoming. In my Wife's words fast food experience for restaurant money.

Food was perfect, great flavours, well presented etc. A little overpriced for what it is and compared to the competition. Server forgot our drinks but was very friendly.

From the moment I walked into the restaurant, Steph made me feel welcome and comfortable. Her warm smile and friendly demeanour immediately put me at ease and made me excited for my meal. Throughout the course of the evening, she proved to be an excellent and attentive waitress, ensuring that my dining experience was enjoyable and seamless. Not only was Steph knowledgeable about the menu, but she also provided great recommendations based on my preferences. She took the time to explain the different dishes and their ingredients and offer suggestions for great accompanying drinks and sides. Her expertise in the cuisine was truly impressive and made my meal even more enjoyable. Steph's attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond for her customers truly stood out. She consistently checked in on me throughout the meal to make sure that everything was to my liking and was quick to address any concerns or requests I had. OK Second time at the yo school for making sushi. What can I say. Well I'm 69 years old, and this was one of the best evenings out this year. I learnt loads about how to make sushi rolls, veggie and fishy. The staff member who conducted the evening was exceptional and excellent at teaching us. There were 9 of us, after a quiet start we all jelled and chatted freely with each other and produced a load of rolls that we took home, after eating enough to fill our individual appetite. My partner who is vegetarian was fully catered for. Yo was very generous in the drinks department ( 3 glasses of wine in my case, no charge ). It was an enjoyable experience that I recommend to any one who loves sushi and wishes to learn how to do it. Thank yo.

Took my daughter for a last minute meal this evening, went past Yo sushi and thought we’d give it a go. We were greeted by an amazing lady called Sally, who was so accommodating and very friendly and really made the experience memorable. The service was second to none, and the food was delicious. We had such a great time we will be returning. The belt is now working and really made it effortless to pick more food to eat, mmmmm.

Do not recommend. After having the Kids eat free deal when adults pay £10 emailed to us, having it advertised to us and checking the website details we decided to visit. On arrival we waited 15 minutes to be seated despite the fact there were 2 booths free and 10 spaces at the counter free (because no tables were clean). When we were eventually seated I enquired about the deal only to be told it was no longer on. There branch changed yesterday and now I would be required to pay £17.50 and this didn't include any items from the conveyer belt. I queried this, showing them the website with the deal across it and showing the restaurants not participating (Norwich was participating) and was told that was the way it was. At that point I had a hungry child who had been waiting patiently for food. We decided to just get my little one something to eat. We then had to ask for chopsticks and bowls for soy sauce as nothing was brought. It was hugely embarrassing. Why offer a deal to parents, then embarrass them once they are sat down by nearly doubling the price and changing the items available. The manager never spoke to me, however she stood in front of me talking to the staff member about me and the deal and how it 'is how it is' Food, naff. Cleanliness naff, where we sat had food and dirty napkins all over the floor. Understaffed - I felt sorry for the junior team members. And outright terrible experience. For the money (we got three dishes of maki for £11.50) you'd be better visiting Matane by Castle Mall. I'm sorry we tried here. Save your pennies.

A fine case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'!. I used to love coming here when the conveyer belt had food on display, it gave a unique experience. Drinks used to be served in nice cold glasses and had a water tap on each table. Food can only now be ordered via a QR code which I continue to not be a fan of. Unfortunately now you are over-paying for a standard restaurant experience that isn't fun anymore! I really wasn't a fan of beer/wine being served in rather aged-looking plastic glasses. The food was fantastic, however it was unfortunate that out of the 6 or 7 dishes we ordered, we waited nearly 45 minutes for about 3 of them. I probably won't come back here anymore, it's just not the same place anymore!

Used to be fantastic but - stopped using the conveyor belts for random items. Discovery was part of the fun here. - they got rid of the taps, a unique feature replaced with.. a jug. - got rid of half the nice vegetarian dishes and replaced them with... seemingly nothing. - got rid of actual menus and now I have to use my phone. "Unplugging" is one of the reasons I enjoy restaurants. (also, old folks can't figure out the QR menu). The staff (however unnecessary they mostly are now) are still great though. "If it ain't broke..."

Very good place. One of the best sushi places to eat. This one in particular has a very welcoming atmosphere and lovely waiters. Although one time they didn't bring any of the stuffs we needed, so I needed to get up and take my chopsticks for example. Apart from that time my visit there was great. Been visiting since 2018.

Ive been to many yo sushi places around country and they all have been fab, great food ( selection ),great service, not long turn around, but norwich omg, long wait for family of 4, meaning not even seen to standing outside shop at open and thats only 1 occasion, a diffrent visit it took me 25mins to order food instead of just getting off belt as there was non at all as in bare, and past few times looking in window all i see is tables taken with noone in them, in all id rather go to a yo sushi that actually has its head strapped on than a joke shop, take at own risk when visiting

First time back since COVID and probably will be my last time unfortunately. Service was OK, food pretty mediocre and overall experience poor. The sushi was a bit limp and sorry looking, not much better than the cheap supermarket stuff really. The noodles were very greasy and there is a very limited menu now, especially the (lack of) variety of sushi. A visit here used to be an experience, watching all the different dishes roll around and choosing dishes that took your fancy. Now it's just order off menu and the USP/novelty is completely gone. I also quite object to having a credit card machine shoved in my face immediately after ordering, before any food has been served. Obviously not confident enough in the food. Very disappointing and there's far better restaurants nearby to choose from at the same price-point. I would suggest going elsewhere based on my experience today.

The hardest and creakiest bed you could imagine for my son to sleep on (family room). He gave up in the end and we found him asleep on the floor in the morning! No working WiFi (receptionist said that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). No air con either. Poor service and uncomfortable nights sleep.

It is very busy over lunchtime, so sometimes you have to wait for a spare table. You don't have to wait long for service. It was hot and enjoyable
