This is our favourite YO! Sushi. We love the atmosphere, the food is fresh, the kids enjoy it, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Jack is wonderful. He taught the kids how to make their own chopsticks and sang our eldest a big Happy Birthday, on her birthday. Thank you! We’ll be back soon :)

Still on the theme of playing "Catch up". Christmas shopping at Trafford centre, Manchester is always a beautiful experience, I am always in awe of the architecture of this masterpiece! Now if you are an early shopper like me- that is you like to arrive earlier in time for shops opening to get a head start before the lunch crowd comes to join in the activity. Then we understand that once the clock strikes 12, it is time for the first food break and for that I 100% recommend a walk in/book in advance at YO!Sushi and Japanese food. I thoroughly enjoyed the conveyor belt experience, especially enjoyed the following dishes; Kaiso seaweed, Kimchi chicken, prawn crackers of course!, salmon dragon, yasai, mochi, and YO! fries of the belt which was 10/10 too, all paired with sake. The service was prompt- considering the rush, friendly faces all around and excellent all round service! I really appreciated the variety of dishes both on and off the conveyor belt. I look forward to another trip down to try more dishes off the belt. Also for students, discounts here are accepted! Satisfying sushi cravings, while being surrounded by families on the lookout for the perfect present all in anticipation for the smiles and laughter that comes from the art of gifting, is always a joy to witness.

We took part in the Sushi making class here via DesignMyNight, It was a little unorganised to begin with and we were left waiting around 10 minutes longer than expected but once we were seated and introduced to our tutor, Josh, everything went great. Josh was a fantastic tutor and guided us well to making a variety of different Sushi types, its was a very informative experience but also kept light hearted and very fun, at the end of the night we were very happy with the Sushi we had created. I would highly recommend the Sushi making class from this location.

Seriously rude staff, I actually complained to the manager about our server who had a go at me and my friend for wanting to pay separately. He started by huffing and puffing and saying we should have said at the start if we wanted to pay separately as it ‘makes it harder for him’, bear in mind this man was our server the entire meal and didn’t ask us at the start? Nor did we think we had to state this, it’s just a normal thing! I said this and he snapped and did the payments. I then asked for a receipt, he sighed again & stormed off. He then literally slapped the receipt from the palm of his hand into the worktop in front of me and stormed off without saying a single word. Shocking service!

Enjoyed a lovely evening here last night. Our server (didn’t catch her name) was absolutely lovely. She was super busy and it was hard to get her attention - felt like the place was under staffed. We really felt for her when she was so busy clearing tables, she accidentally spilt some food on another diner who was understandably annoyed, but spoke to her appallingly. He really belittled her, horrible man. It was really hard to watch. I hope she’s ok, and the company have not penalised her, she was visibly upset poor girl.

We used to be regulars here, so much so we had a VIP discount card. In the last few years the place has become an unbearable disgrace. The staff used to be lovely, now they are miserable and disinterested, they will walk past you over and over without acknowledging you before they finally sigh and mutter at you to follow them to sit down at a poorly cleaned table (the last few times I've wiped it properly myself). If you can get past the shocking service and the shrunken portions the food is okay - except we haven't been able to actually eat there the last THREE times because they have had no vegetarian options (we are a fully vegetarian family)! I vowed I wouldn't go back after last time but our kids begged us. This time I was smart enough to ask whether they had pumpkin or not before being ignored in the queue for twenty minutes and realising we couldn't eat there anyway. Honestly it's filthy, poor service, small portions. Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere.

Imagine paradise. Imagine it as a place on a map. In your mind, drop a pin there… then start walking. Walk away from it as far as you possibly can in the universe you’ve just created. Then drop another pin. That pin is as far away from perfect as you can get… that pin, if you will, is hell. Now, again imagine you tap that pin. Yes… you guessed it. That pin is Yo Sushi at the Trafford Center. Only worse… because going to hell at least has a sense of justice to it. You end up in hell because you did something. I ended up in Yo Sushi, the real incarnation of hell, because my kids wanted to go there. That seems like a harsh punishment. What makes it hell is that in no way does it live up to any of its promises. This is meant to be luxury, exotic, flavoursome… frankly Yo Sushi should have a licence from the FCA to arrange personal loans and mortgages to pay the bill. Their food is so expensive that it is perfectly reasonable to expect it to cure cancer, reverse male pattern baldness, or serve as the world heavyweight champion of aphrodisiacs… But instead, what you get is to wait in a long queue in a shop that’s too hot for it to be good for anyone - another way it is very much like hell. You are sat in grubby, dirty, dilapidated surroundings, and even though I came with small children, you are sat at a bar that in no way lends itself to supervising kids. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to summon waiting staff - I understood they did not use the app and had to be summoned. Only I assume they had to be summoned by telephone, by email, even perhaps by telepathy, because none were around to be summoned by more traditional means. Finally, when my seven year old had got sick of waiting, he went to find one, in a moment I found out about a split second too late, because he was next to me at a bar, not in front of me at a table. When the server was to be found, she knew about as much about the menu as I do about open heart surgery (read: I am not a cardio thoracic surgeon). Couldn’t guide me through the dishes, couldn’t tell me how the menu had changed, couldn’t suggest any alternatives. It was, almost exactly, like talking to a hand puppet. Only hand puppets are fun. This was like putting a knitting needle into my ear. So, with my kids having eaten four plates alone. Four small plates. With pennies worth of food on them, I got sick of the shoddy experience, baulked at the idea of having my pocket picked to be treated like.a simpleton and left. The cost for those four plates? A few pence shy of £18. So in short - I would not recommend this food venue to anyone - unless I bitterly hated them, because I’d caught them in bed with my wife, after driving my car, and having ingratiated themselves to my friends. Then and only then could I loathe someone enough to recommend eating at this establishment. For less dramatic occasions - give it a dramatic swerve. Your bank manager and your sensibilities will thank you. Yo Sushi solicited me to email them on Tripadvisor to resolve this. After asking me to send them the review again and then asking for proof of purchase, they decided not to refund me. WHAT WAS THE POINT OF WASTING MY TIME THEN? Absolute muppets. Basically the death knell for Yo Sushi. I hate the way they do business, I hate their ripoff prices, I hate how grubby and run down their places are, I hate how eating there makes me feel like a mug.

We visited Yo Sushi last Friday for date night, our first time back in a while, and we were excited to return to see if the experience still lived up to our memories. As always, the restaurant had its conveyor belt with a variety of sushi selections passing by, giving us the option to either order with the waitress or pick directly from the belt. We ended up doing both, eager to try some of our favourites and a few new items as well. We ordered eight pieces of the Dynamite Roll, filled with creamy avocado, cucumber, and carrot, topped with crispy onions and spicy salmon. We also picked out the Popcorn Shrimp, perfectly tempura-battered and drizzled with sweet shiro miso and chili sauce. From the belt, we grabbed four pieces of the Popcorn Prawn Roll, a refreshing blend of smashed avocado rolled in chives, topped with a spicy kimchi sauce and crispy popcorn prawn. The Yo Fries were a nice side, Japanese-style fries with sriracha mayo and sprinkled with sesame and aonori seaweed, and we rounded out our sushi with eight pieces of the Crunch California Roll, made with surimi and avocado, topped with mayo, teriyaki, and crunchy onion. For drinks, we kept it simple with a Mogu Mogu Mango and a Sprite Zero. While the sushi was enjoyable, we couldn’t understand why the prices had gone up so much since our last visit, especially since very little had changed apart from a few new items on the menu. In fact, some of the dishes were as expensive as what we’d expect from a fine dining restaurant in the city center, which felt excessive given the casual dining experience. Another disappointing aspect was the lack of cleanliness throughout the restaurant. The table and chairs felt grimy, the floor had visible crumbs, and the menus were so sticky that we didn’t want to touch them. It gave the impression that upkeep was not a priority. Overall, while the sushi itself was good, the high prices and cleanliness issues took away from the experience. It’s a fun place to pick and sample dishes, but the steep prices and lack of cleanliness make it difficult to fully recommend.

Took my son Wednesday night for the sushi making course they do. We went early to have our Tea which was awesome as usual. The sushi making started at 6.30pm and was run by Jack think he said he’s one of the managers. He was great fun made everyone welcome explained everything and had us all making sushi like pros. Honestly a good location and decent service. But sadly that's where the positives stop. As someone who has been to sushi belts in America and Japan this place is an insult to proper sushi belts. The prices are honestly absurd for the amount. Nothing is worth it. You'll spend way more here than you think for even one dish. Run as fast as you can. There is no reasonable reason for such expense. The kaarage isnt even proper kaarage. It's just simple breaded chicken you can buy at the super market

It's been a while since I visited a Yo! SUSHI 🍣🦐🦀🐟🥢... I have to say i enjoyed every bit of it today. It made a nice change after several days of meat and cheese over the Christmas period.. From the freshly prepared sashimi to their grilled teriyaki kebabs, there was simply too much to choose from. Loved the spicey tuna egg rolls 😋 had a firefly kick!!.. Can honneslty say was completely stuffed by the time I left!!.. over all had about 12 dishes ( diffent colour plates ) plus a couple of drinks, and the price wasn't too bad at the end. £60.59. Felt it was about right for the amount food we had eaten!! Plus, they also accept Blue light cards, so got a cheeky 20% off the overall bill.. score saved about £13 .. 👌 Deffenlty will be returning soon to get our sushi 🍣 fix again!!

Not the greatest of experiences Katsu curry was rubbish very watery and hard rice ended up leaving most of it. Popcorn shrimp dish was literally sweepings / plate of crumbs and charged £8.75 for it. Staff difficult to get attention as they were messing about with a Selfridges bag / still charged the service charge.

Staff were polite but very young and not at all proactive. Also we were told that everything, including shellfish were being cooked in the same fryer as one was broken, therefore as I have a shellfish allergy my options were very limited. When we came to pay the bill we weren’t offered a receipt and when I questioned this as it was approx £20 more than I had expected, the waitress reluctantly brought over the receipt and we’d been charged for items we hadn’t ordered. Overall a little disappointing.

Always very busy, quick service, attentive staff. Order via the app. Not much booth seating but lots of seating alongside the sushi belt. Prepare to queue for the Yo! In Trafford center , for at least 10 minutes Can be a bit cramped sitting alongside the belt, so if possible ask to sit in a booth.

Food was ok, however staff who was making food was also delivering it and from hygienic point of view that's not too good as they would wear the gloves when they were making food then would touch all the things around them (fridges, chairs etc.) while still wearing those gloves. And there was that disturbing smell of dump and dirty cloth where we were sitting. I'm not quite sure where this was coming from but it was bad.

Didn't like how the staff just took 10 plates off the belt and just chucked them in the bin. I understand they don't want to risk selling bad food but I could've literally decided to take one just before he threw it away. No care at all and it was sad to see.

Ordered two of the Korean fried chicken bowls- only asked for no chillies (we both can't handle spice very well) and one with no radishes. Both dishes came with chillies and radishes, were so hot we couldn't eat much and had to give it to our friend. We barely ate anything and had to get food later. The waiter had told us the changes would be possible and had spoken to the kitchen staff so we dont really know why the changes were then ignored?

By far the worst sushi experience I have EVER had. 1) the simplest of all miso soups taste bland and watery 2) there 13.50 pound seafood ramen is made with egg noodles and not ramen. THIS IS A SIN!!! 3) sushi and sashimi portions purposely cut too thin and tiny, i have never seen such cheapskate cost saving methods 4) all seafood served here are not fresh, I wouldn't be surprised If I get food poisoning from this. EDIT: my wife did get food poisoning from this. 5) everything is overpriced for what you get. 6) sushi appears on the belt as broken most of the time. Never will I come here again. Save your money and go to wazasushi or shoryu, much nicer sushi and professionalism and respect towards Japanese cuisine. EDIT: reached out to yo sushi as per there response. Don't bother, they aren't helpful. Just the typical carried out investigation and nothing found. After many tests and nhs/private appointments, results show there was inflammation in several areas that arose from bacterial infection. The timelines matched up but difficult to prove as a result, and from yo sushi's response, you'll need something concrete for them to accept responsibility. All in all, you can decide what you want to do with your life but I wouldn't risk my health going there again.

Absolutely deserves a big ZERO. Shocking prices for the amount of food that you get. Can easily spend £40 on the conveyer belt in about 4 dishes which, for the portion size, is ridiculous! Asked the server how I can differentiate between halal and non halal food, well she basically didn't know the dishes herself as she proceeded to pick up examples off the conveyer to explain how to identify things off the paper menu and then she would say 'o erm actually I don't know what this is too'. Not exaclty giving me the confidence boost here. A clear systematic coloured plate system would work much better so customers can easily identify their requirements. Anyway, we did try it as we had 3 very excited girls with us who wanted to try the sushi experience etc. We ordered some noodles which for £9 odd was a ridiculous portion, absolutely disgusting, literally seved on a teacup seving plate essentially. We did however get the bento boxes for free as it was during these school holidays but I seriously would have been super displeased had they charged me for what was served in the bento box (I can tell you it is not as advertised in their fancy advertisements). Anyway, can not really complain about that because it was for free so grateful for what we got as we could have easily spent over £150 to feed us all properly (2 adults, 3 kids). One thing to mention is kids across us where switching the vegan cocktail sticks over to other plates on the conveyer belt, potentially causing a dangerous situation for someone. We did tell the staff however they did nothing. Overall, I would absolutely never visit a Yo shushi restaurant again.

I came with friends to the Sushi School and it was so good! We had a lovely chef show us how they cut the fish and step by step instructions for making 5 different types of sushi (2x hosomaki, uramaki, temaki and nigiri). It was loads of fun and we got to eat our sushi or take it home after and there was plenty of it. Free drinks too. Highly recommend!

There’s always a long queue here so we’ve only ever got takeaway before which has been nice. It wasn’t that great - the quality is pretty average and the price really isn’t far off what you’d pay in Australasia in Manchester for a similar portion. Its a long time since I’ve been to a Yo but there’s a lot of stuff they used to offer that’s gone away - water taps at the counter, complimentary ginger and wasabi, it was all a bit underwhelming really.

Well since we had an hour and a half to spare before my childs play session at play factore we thought we'd go to yo sushi the queue was massive it was boiling hot in there we contemplated leaving the queue several times but this was meant to be part of her birthday treat. We kept seeing several empty seats but they were not getting filled and the queue was not moving it was a form of torture really by the time we got to the front of the queue it was time for the 2 hour play session to start and i hoped we would finally get seated soon so we could make it to the play session before it finishes. But it was still another 15-20 mins before we were seated in chairs that look like theyve seen better days. Once there it was great. I mean it was slow service if you ordered food and drink and no one explained the system to me i had to ask if the '20' sticker on the dome on top of the dish means its 20 quid and they finally explained no the pricing is colour coded accorded to the dish and handed me a menu which i hadnt been given before. I have anxiety it makes me anxious to not know the prices of things until its time to pay and would have preferred to pay upfront but as this wasnt possible i had to use my calculator on my phone to monitor how much it all was and to tell my child to limit herself. Then they added a service charge to the end anyway. What service? They werent seating people in time or explaining the system definitely acted like i was bugging them by asking questions all the time- at the end i literally asked 3 different employees how im meant to pay and they walked right past me without acknowledging me like i never said anything and we ended up being late to the play session due to slow service but its not a low rating because the actual food was good and id recommend. I played it safe with prawn crackers miso soup and mochi and really enjoyed it. Really like the moving conveyors. If i had been seated quickly and explained the system and it wasnt so hot it probably would have been a 5 star review from me. Also wish they had drinks like ramune my child gets it from the yo section at tesco so i assumed theyd have them in the restaurant too but they dont?

My daughter is gluten intolerant but really wanted to try Yo! sushi. I wasn’t holding out much hope but she found things she could eat on the menu & we both really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely be back.

Went me and my husband, the Tuna nigiri and roll didnt have any taste at all 😅 the salmon sushi was fine but not soemthing wow. We were very disappointed about the quality of the food.

Really enjoyable experience. Me and my daughter went for the first time. You can order from the menu and then you pick what you want from the conveyor system. Everything is colour coded as to how much it costs. Be warned it can get expensive as the food goes round and you want to try it. Will definitely go again.
