Such a shame! We took our daughter as a treat before she starts 'Big school'. She loves the Yo Sushi in Bristol and was excited to go. Unfortunately it was a disaster. Although it was only half full we wated 20 minutes just to be seated as there was only two front of house doing everything. None of the tables were cleared so it was very dirty and there was only 3 dishes going around the conveyor belt. We ordered and the good was great but the servers forgot our drinks. Our daughter was very upset as she had been excited and it was meant to distract her from the stresses of starting a new school but only added to them. In conclusion the chefs were great but two servers to sit people, clear tables, take orders and serve food is not enough. They were slow which led to failed orders. I honestly would have spent 3 times the amount if I could actually order from someone or seen some food on the conveyor.

It was ok. Yo sushi is a fast and cheap alternative and serves the job. The manager/host is super friendly. I would recommend staying with the hot food. Sushi is ok but take rools. Yo sushi is not a place to slowly enjoy a sashimi and a wislde variety of fishes.

What a joke of a place! A massive rip off! 6.95 for the smallest most basic plate of sushi, and the rolls were TINY. I can't believe the fine dining prices for mediocre sushi. How can you charge that much?? I can get exceptionally better sushi for HALF the price in other places, especially in other western countries. The quality of 'Japanese' is laughable. The music was loud as hell and annoying. And the place feel and looks dirty. The toilet was disgusting. You can't even put on enough staff to cover the quietest night. Cheap business owners! The poor lovely workers doing their best. The staff were nice at least. The sushi restaurant is a joke..

Arrived for a late lunch. There were only 3 other tables there with a total of 5 customers, 2 of which were already in eating. There were at least 8 people working. Ordered a few simple items and a received a small roll within 5 mins. Then had to wait for over 25 mins before our some not all of our food to show up. It took another ten mins for another item to show up. Ended up canceling the rest of our order because we weren’t interested in waiting another half hour for the rest of the food to arrive. Hostess/waitress was great but the kitchen staff were all standing around doing nothing. One of the cooks was standing right behind our table talking about his weekend plans swearing about this and that right in front of my 8 year old. Then when we canceled our order he gave me a dirty look and muttered under his breath. Not sure what he said exactly but it sounded like a racial slur. Imagine having the nerve to say that to an Asian man in a Japanese restaurant. A horrible representation of Yo Sushi. Needs to be fired. Won’t be coming back.

Service was fine. The staff friendly and nice they asked us all the right questions and they were great. The reason why we given the rating of one is because the quality of the food is super poor the Salmon had no taste we could definitely tell it was not super fresh. It had a strange texture as you picked it up with chopsticks it disintegrated. Rice Was super compact Like clay. Unfortunately, we believe this is a standard across All yo restaurant as we tried the one in Plymouth and it was the same. Yo was One of the best sushi places we used to go to and as we haven’t been for awhile, we thought we try the All you could eat as it’s come back again. We will be avoiding all Yo sushi restaurants Unfortunately, from now on. the High Street sushi vendors has changed a lot from the last 10 years and the quality of sushi is a lot higher and unfortunately yo sushi has slipped And not kept up with the quality. People that never had sushi before may think it’s great until they go somewhere that’s a lot better And a lot cheaper. This is probably why they’re not doing so well anymore. There was smell coming from the chair table. And when I open the lid on one of the plates it smelts like something was rotting and I smell the sushi and that seemed okay. I believe the plates weren’t clean very well. There are parts where the table connected to the sushi bar was extremely dirty from splatter marks and you can see they weren’t clean properly. There were parts that the silicon was connected to the bar, which was a hard to reach parts was extremely dirty. I feel like they need to have a refer in the store as it’s been there for a long time and looking very tired.

A Japanese sushi restaurant. The first visit to this branch. After sitting down, there is a group of dishes passing by you. Each dish has a color and the price of the color is clearly visible on the restaurant’s menu. You can order additional dishes from the restaurant’s menu. The additional orders were chicken noodles (good) and spicy seafood ramen (excellent). It is worth a visit then. I used to love this type of restaurant

£45 for a couple of sushi. This place is overpriced, and there are service fee for servers that don't do anything. Awful place. Won't go back here ever. Sakura in Weston Super Mare is exponentially better than this place. For £35, I can get sashimi, sushi, katsudon and miso soup for two people in Sakura. Yo sushi was my favorite restaurant as a kid and it's sad to see it now. Had a late lunch today, ordered a seafood ramen and it didn't have many of the ingredients it was listed with on the menu. Had already eaten a fair amount when I realized as I thought the rest of the seafood was buried under the noodles. I would of mentioned it but nobody ever asked us how the food was, including when we paid. Not one to complain and hassle the staff as they were clearly stretched and overworked but was pretty disappointed. (No prawns no squid and no egg as advertised) salmon sushi and sushimi is reletively poor quality too, which wouldn't be a problem but at London prices its fairly disappointing. I have fond memories as a kid of grabbing food off the conveyor belts at YO! These belts are now just rotating 2 or 3 sad looking plates round the restaurant perpetually. Really sad to see, but certainly not the staffs fault as I imagine not being paid a whole lot and probably being told to skimp on portions ext.

Went last month on a Sunday for lunch and was literally the dirtiest restaurant I have been to. I love yo sushi and found the Exeter restaurant really disappointing. The bathroom was a mess and disgusting, which should have been a warning -- but we stayed and ate, unfortunately. Food was ok but the same few old dishes (had yesterday's stickers!) going around -- no starters or desserts. Table and conveyer were filthy. Service was good and the only redeeming feature. Needs a deep clean and better investment in this restaurant! Have eaten several times in the past and it wasn't like this.

Yo! need to step up their sushi game. More and more quality players in Exeter deliver better quality and better flavour. Tuna and salmon are watery and stringy. Should be creamy and smooth like butter. Wasabi is gritty. Gyoza was deep fried. Should be fried on one side like in their own pictures. Lost flavour and juiciness. People trust YO because it has sushi in the name and the atmosphere but it's sadly low quality sushi.

I came in a couple of weeks ago. I was having a bit of a tearful day/not the best day and one of your workers really helped to turn that around (perhaps unknowingly). I didn’t catch his name but he had ginger hair with cool designs shaven into the side and tattoos - hopefully you know who I mean and will be able to pass on my appreciation :) I hadn’t booked a table, I was by myself and was hoping to cheer myself up with some sushi. He greeted me at the door and managed to find a seat for me. He checked back in regularly to see if I needed anything and had a super caring/comforting vibe and was very smiley. “Japanese Chicken” was a glorified chicken nugget, akin to those you find half eaten at the end of a children’s birthday party. Dry. I ordered loads of wasabi that didn’t arrive. Instead I got 15 sachets of soy, that I didn’t order, and have a bottle of in the cupboard. Sushi without wasabi is like chips with no ketchup / mayo. So this £50 treat (at a time when £50 is a significant amount for most households), was very disappointing 😞

Possibly the worse YoSushi I’ve ever visited! It took ages to be seated (even though there were many seats free!), only one dish going around on the conveyor belt, menus were sticky and dirty along with unclean soy sauce side bowls and glasses, and the food was below average. Chicken yakitori was literally black and the salad it was served on (along with other dishes) was browning and limp. There’s a self-order system via mobile phone (clearly a money saving tactic by the company to reduce employee numbers) and so the only two guys working there were running round like headless chicken. At least they were polite and friendly. This review is no reflection on them. We will not be returning to this branch or any other yo sushi (it’s been going downhill for a while now - similar experience in other branches near where we live in the Home Counties).

The sushi was average, but the restaurant's cleanliness was below par with dirty tables and floors. Service was hectic, with the staff frequently forgetting orders. Condiments like wasabi and ginger were only available on request, and the miso soup often lacked seaweed. Rare night out and utterly disappointed. The sign advertising 'The Big Maki' should have been the biggest clue. Dear God, we don't want a McDonalds.. Conveyor belt running but no food on it, so missing the ability to see the food and discover something new and interesting. Needed to order off an awful app that has no relation to the menu on the table and had no ability to search up items. Food took ages and then arrived all in one go after having to be chased up. Needed to ask for Wasabi, ginger and water. Rice was falling apart and California rolls were tiny (which I guess explains why they dont want to put food on the conveyor belt). Dishes that were reasonable were covered in sauce but real sushi relies on the food not flavourings. Much better Japanese restaurants in Exeter. I used to love Yo! Sushi but what happened....

Having regularly frequented and thoroughly enjoyed yo Exeter in the past I was genuinely disappointed with my visit today. This is was my first and last post COVID visit. Today I decided to "treat" my disabled girlfriend to some yo!.. We arrived around 6pm to find the restaurant pleasantly empty but still found ourselves waiting longer than you'd expect to be seated. When we arrived at our "table" we found ourselves right at the back of the restaurant stat on what felt like childrens stools and we were surrounded by used/dirty dishes and had bins immediately behind us, we didn't feel at all like we were having a dining experience more we were an inconvenience to staff given where we'd been placed. The food however wasn't bad at all and it was nice to see some familiar faces working in the kitchen from when I last stopped by. The menu however is now very limited compared to pre COVID yo! But it still tastes fantastic, turns out the custard dorayaki are amazing even without raspberry coulis.

Always loved going to yo sushi but definitely won’t be going back after today. Four of us attempted to go for my 21st birthday meal, along with my mums guide dog. The woman on the door said she wasn’t sure about our dog and went to check if we could come in, which straight away threw us off as it is illegal to refuse a service dog and they are protected under the equality act. The woman came back and took us to an area with some very small chairs (which honestly looked like children’s chairs) and said we couldn’t go in the main area with the dog incase people didn’t like dogs. For one that’s not an acceptable excuse because again, you can’t refuse a service dog simply because you don’t like dogs, but secondly where we were taken to only had three chairs when there were four of us, the only other seat was a much higher bar seat so we wouldn’t have even been sat together properly. My mum rightly felt insulted by this and quite frankly we would have rather been refused service altogether rather than put in a more secluded area in these small seats. The woman serving said she wasn’t being insulting but the thing is if someone tells you that the way you have treated them is insulting then there’s no argument about it, it’s insulting, end of. The whole experience was ridiculous and it’s the first time in a long while that any establishment has had an issue with my mum and her guide dog. It made her feel like a second class citizen and very unequal. clearly there is a lack of equality training here and something needs to be done to avoid this sort of discrimination in the future. What i do find funny is that this happened to another guide dog owner in another location and in the apology they stated that “of course all guide dogs are welcome in all of our restaurants” clearly not and clearly this is an issue with the entire company not just this location. This experience would also make it apparent that nothing was ever really done about the incident with the other guide dog owner as some employees still seem to be clueless when it comes to the law and equality act. All in all if you have a service dog I would avoid this restaurant.

What went wrong ! I used to really enjoy a mid week trip to Yo, it was always buzzing, staff happy, chatty and welcoming. TVs going in the background, and watching a well stocked conveyor belt of delights going round whilst you looked through the menu. Now it is completely flat….and devoid of atmosphere or music, you are told to order hot food from the App but to pick up cold from the conveyor and anything else ask the staff. There were “3” dishes going around the whole belt, several hot items had “run out”, the water on the tables has been taken away so you can only buy 500ml bottles at £2.50. The ginger and the wasabi have been taken away and not offered on the menu. We had 5 (very small portions) plates, one water, one miso and it cost £34.05. They forgot to cook the hot dish we ordered so didn’t charge us the “Service Charge” as an apology…..pretty sure service charge is optional and to charge it for 2 people is shocking. Unfortunately, another company seeing the “Covid” changes now as a way of saving money and no longer offering the full pre Covid service. What a shame it’s been ruined.

Went here yesterday with some friends and the hospitality we experienced was the best I've seen in Exeter, the young waitresses were truly amazing to us. The food was quick and was high quality and the atmosphere was friendly. Highly recommended.

First time going to Yo sushi! I ordered food when I arrived and was greeted by an amazing and friendly server with glasses didn’t pick up a name but would definitely come back just for the service alone!

Since COVID YO! has not been as good as it was before. Service is mediocre, and waiting staff really are not attentive or present at all. Food is nice and comes quickly but there really is a lack of interaction.

Since they introduced the order by app experience YO Sushi has lost the little charm it had. There's no fun watching what might be coming next on the conveyor. The unlimited green tea is a shocking price. There's no taps, ginger or horseradish at each table anymore either. The company has taken a big step backwards.

Not only was the sushi bad, the miso soup was packed with just a flimsy lid which was bound to open and spill over everything, ruining the bag, the cardboard box of beans. I end up smelling like miso soup for the rest of the day, my friend is down one miso soup and disappointed and I feel like I've wasted £25. It would be a really good idea to put an elastic band around the soup or package it better. And make sushi that is half decent and not charge an arm and leg for it.

Fun dining experience, clean, and good chefs. Has become one of my favourite dining spots due to quick service and good selection of dishes. Very westernised selection of sushi but this isn't a bad thing as there will be a dish to suit anyone's preferences - you can choose from fresh veggie sushi, fresh salmon options, fries with pulled pork, and other meatier options such as the katsu curry or beef teriyaki. The latter is one of my favourites as the teriyaki sauce isn't too sweet. Prices are on the expensive side but definitely worthwhile if you are treating yourself for a nice lunch. Particularly enjoy the ordering experience as this is entirely done on your phone, so you don't have to wait for service from a waiter and can order and pay right away. Food is served speedily. Although this venue is wheelchair accessible, please note that the bathrooms are on the floor below and are only accessible through the stairs.

Amazing service from the staff today. We have a baby with allergies and they went above and beyond for us, from explaining the menu and even making everything fresh from scratch to avoid any cross contamination. Thank you

Yo Sushi is always good, the food is fresh, delicious and served quickly. I do miss all the dishes going round on the conveyor belt but covid put a stop to that. Still fun though. Slightly on the pricey side, more of a treat than a daily or weekly place to eat. Highly recommend.

I had been promising to take my nephew here for ages who loves sushi. We sat down and he was so excited, we chose our food but when it come to payment we were told they don't accept cash and that's all I had on me. Nowhere is it advertised that they only take card. We had to leave and he was so upset, will never be going back!

Really tasty food, service was great, super friendly and made conversation while I waited. The only downside was it was a tad expensive we dpent £50 for a meal for two of us, but on the plus side this meant we got complimentary fancy chopsticks so that was a nice perk

The overall all experience was fine, however having to ask for more gluten free soy sauce for my mother in law (she's a celiac) was outright embracing. The overall experience and quality of yo has declined during and post covid.

Obsessed with the Korean Chicken. It was super quiet on a Tuesday night so great for those who get overwhelmed in restaurant situations. The menu ordering is all done via a QR code on your phone so you don’t really need to speak to anyone if you don’t want to. Good choices for vegetarians.

Walked in and waited at the front to be seated as there were lots of seats free and no que, was told to go wait outside (windy and rainy). After 5-10 mins just as we were walking away from the place we were told we could come in. Chefs were great, food was amazing, and the restaurant was fun.

It's a very bad example of Japanese food. The food is overpriced and very low quality. The cooked rice is pre cooked and kept in a cool box for long periods of time. Our rice was served luke warm... food poisoning anyone? Our green tea was also luke warm which wasn't very pleasant. A very disappointing experience. Overall, high on price, low on quality.

IKEA has all of the new home furnishings that you need! The furniture here is stylish yet not overly priced. Even if you’re not looking for new furniture it is still fun to walk around and get some new inspiration. Be sure to stop by at the Swedish restaurant from some delicious Swedish fare.

Best Indian takeaway in Exeter! Very generous portion sizes and always consistently good quality. Tried most Indian takeaways in Exeter, but Spice Magic comes out on top for me.
