Ying in Edinburgh, City of

Been using them for years, never had a problem with them. Food isn't outstanding but quite acceptable.

Good to see back open food was hot and tasty 😋

Sadly the takeaway food was terribly, not much else to say except I will not be going back.

They said they are closed for a holiday. That's been 3 weeks. So disappointed. They should update the website, and state when it's opening again. Very poor.

I would never order from them again as in these people once they make it they become arrogant as they do. Mistakes are made but admitting to them is too hard for them. It clearly says that beef and blackbean sauce is not spicy with no chillies sign next to it. Worse is one put it all over your food and to get a non understanding girl of probably minor age arguing with you that they'll not refund you because it is a spicy dish. I've ordered this all over Edinburgh and never tasted this with as much spiciness as this.

Where do I start... Lady at death rude!!! Just rude Meal deal for 1 Chicken noodle soup Rotten with some kind of hot spice through it. Barbecue ribs full of fat. Chicken curry frozen rubber chicken. Rice ok I'd never eat here again

Tried for the first time as usual place we use is shut at the moment. Not great unfortunately. Starters were good but it went downhill from there. Chicken and blackbean was ok, but quite watery. Chiciken in yellow beans sauce was REALLY sweet, and I wasn't expecting the chicken to be battered, nowhere else I've had this at has done that. Also, I asked for extra veg. I got 6 slices of cucumber and some extra onion thrown on the top. Husband also have cucumber in the black bean, weird veg to be serving hot? Son's salt and chilli chips were like old chips that had been reheated and sprinkled with chilli powder. Also thought it was pretty expensive, won't be returning.

Late delivery paired with a rude, shouty receptionist doesnt give a good first impression. Chips mushy, chicken raw... the list goes on. Appalling

Avoid ,I’m a vegetarian , I ordered plain rice noodles ( they had chicken and bacon in them ) were NOT offered a replacement or refund , spent £33:20 to be left with food I cannot eat . Absolutely disgraceful customer service

Incredible food. I ordered online for a specific timeslot - food was ready for me piping hot at the exact minute I asked for. What an incredible place to have in our village

Best (as in delicious) Chinese take away I've so far found to deliver consistent quality over and over again.

i placed an order that cost a lot of money there was hairs in my food so i phoned up they said they would give me a new order i didn’t receive the new order so i phoned back to explain and they refused to listen to me and hung up the call and didn’t answer my other calls none of my food has been eating and i’m not receiving any money or new food for my order.

Very very very poor. Never order from here, if you wish your order on time. Ordered at 4.25pm, to be delivered at 6pm.....6.45pm order still not here....

Ordered on website …..still waiting 2 hours later and had ordered one hour and a half before delivery. Avoid online ordering . I suspect not even cooked yet!

Yang it's self makes good and tasty food but be warned do not order off the website. I placed my order via there website as they do not accept payment via card over the phone the website advised it would take 59 mins to arrive which is a lie as I wanted 2 1/2 hours which is not acceptable as when I have payed by cash in the past my food arrived within 40 mins. I called numerous times to find out where my order was to be told its still being made 1hr after I ordered then called again to be told it out for delivery 2hrs after order. I asked for a full refund due to the length of time it took and was told they would only give me half back after a bit of an argument on the phone with them I accepted the half refund and asked for it to go back on my card then I was told they would only be able to give me cash as they don't have a method refund back on card. Why take my money via card but don't have the method to refund it back? This is very dodgy and for that reason your getting a 2 star and have lost a local customer I have also brought this up with my credit card company who agreed this is not right and I will be desupting the transaction.

The food was really low quality compared to other Chinese restraunts. The spring rolls were practically still frozen, and the chicken was cold, really slow service aswell. Very dissapointed.

Ordered 3 meals to be delivered tonight. Waited over 2 hours, and ended up going down to pick it up myself. Food was cold, and 2 of the meals were inedible. Very disappointed, as we always enjoy the food from there. Will think twice about going back. Still waiting on them transferring the delivery cost back as they said they would

Orderd dishes and was very specific about NO ONIONS. Seems this was to much to ask as every dish was loaded with onion.. I'm allergic.. and to far to take back... so no dinner tonight

Really slow. Placed an order for dinner and turned up to collect, finally left about 20 mins later. Has happened again since. Food is ok but not exactly special. Staff also will answer phone mid conversation.

The food is very good takeaway food along with a reasonable price. The portions are great as they are filling but not an overload of food which is seen with other takeaways. My one gripe with the takeaway is that the woman at front of house is quite rude sometimes.

Foods nice but can take over 2 hours for delivery when busy. Even though it says delivery within an hour!

Ordered tonight and this is the 2nd time parts of order have been missing and waited over half an hour for it to be delivered (still waiting). Not impressed. Not difficult orders

Been ordering from here for 5 years. Always been good food and fast deliver. However. Recent months the food has been average and on all 4 of my last orders I’ve had to wait 2 hours minimum for food yet I live 4 streets away and tonight I ordered delivery but had to go to the co op for milk. They were empty with 3 drivers available. Place has gone down hill! The last time I ordered you delivered to the wrong address and street and they and their driver argued with me over the phone saying I’m lying and hadn’t received my food. Yet 30 mins later you arrive at my door and agree you made a mistake .

Order was finally ready 50 minutes later than scheduled collection time. Had to stand outside waiting. Not the first time this has happened but definitely the last.

This is my go to Chinese. The food is so good and they deliver. Never ever disappointed. Been eating here for 6 years!

Not worth the money a total waste of £20 odd quid

Awful! My son went here one lunchtime from school ( which shouldn’t be allowed anyway!) and was terribly ill for almost 4 days, to the point I had to take him to the doctors who told us he had severe food poisoning! He was violently sick and had diarrhoea for days. The place should be shut down!

Only not rating 1 star as I didn't technically hate it, and we did eventually get food... even if it was 25 minutes after they said it would be ready. Not the most fun place to hang out for almost a half hour with others also waiting on their meals. The sound of several stomachs rumbling echoing off the walls, people visibly aging by the time they left. I went in there clean shaven and had a full beard by the time my food was ready - thankfully I carry sufficient fat stores to survive the famine like wait. Course, then I went home and realised that the order was wrong. Okay, it was only the free salt and chilli wings that were missing, but c'mon it's the best thing! Wouldn't mind the small spring rolls, but specifically ordered them as a main. Yep, a true first world problem but not the first time orders have been wrong and consistently late /delayed...

I’ve visited ying at about 5-6 pm twice now and came out with 48h food poisoning both times. Violent vomiting and diarrhoea. I am not happy about the food and don’t think it’s cooked properly at all. Inside the kitchen does not look clean at all and doesn’t meet the health and safety it should inside. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will not be going back. Disgusted.

We ordered take away 2 weeks ago and found bones in our sweet and sour chicken. We took all 3 bones down to show them and were told we would not be able to get our money back but we’re willing to give us the exact same order for free the next time. Well today we decided to order our free meal only to be told at the door that the balance to pay was £10.80. The young girl that delivered was lovely, came into the house while we phoned the shop to query why we were being charged. Unfortunately we were met by a very angry owner who said “pay £10.80 or get nothing” so returned it. According to the owner he has had no complaints in the last 7 years but I see that has changed tonight. Will never order again

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Food was horrible, half the stuff wasn’t delivered. Called for a refund but because my family spend over £50 it was to much to refund??. Also very rude on the phone due to fact I was put on hold to take other orders.. terrible!

Just called for a delivery from Ying and was told too busy to deliver to my address because it was too far! Funny that it wasn't too far on all my other delivery from Ying. Was my new favoured Chinese takeaway but looks like I'm looking for a new one. Thanks Ying.

Place is out of this world. One of the best Chinese takeaways around. Well worth travelling too.

What the hell? The phone speaker (girl) is very rude. I live in university hall and we all got the ying menus so we try ordering it. And guess what the food is good but the service is garbage , she need to be nice and not just say bye bye okay . She didnt even tell me how much all the food cost and hang up. The telephone even record our voice so i really hope the takeway would change the counter staff. I would not recommend ordering from here unless they improve the service. If you dont believe me you can calling. The speaker is completely different to other takeways which is a shame because she should not be in charge on the telephone.
