We enjoyed a lovely dinner out here, first time trying Ethiopian food - we'll definitely be back. It had excellent vegan and vegetarian options and the restaurant staff were very friendly. Thoroughly recommend!

Beyond thrilled to find this excellent Ethiopian Restaurant close by! The sumptuous range of flavours in each carefully spiced dish will stay with me a while. We hugely enjoyed our lunch at Yeshi. We ordered Awazi Tibes, which is a delicious spicy Lamb and vegetable dish, the one you see in the centre of the tray, with the wonderful array of Vegan dishes around the edges. This vegan selection is called Ye Tsesom Beyaynetu, and included three different pulses, lentils and beans, all individually perfectly balanced in flavour and 2 mixed vegetable dishes, all for £10. The tray is covered in injera, which is a fermented pancake made of teff flour. The little bubbles from the fermentation give it a slightly spongy texture, perfect for holding the sauces of the food. It looks a little like chamois leather, but tastes way more delicious! You are also given little folded rolls of the injera. You break pieces off and use it to pick up the food, no cutlery needed. It makes for a wonderfully different and exotic eating experience. These two dishes would have been plenty for the two of us to eat, but from sheer greed we also ordered the Doro Wot, the spiciest dish of Chicken on the bone, and the most expensive at only £11. With wine, the whole bill came to £40, which I consider a real bargain for such excellent food. The leftovers filled 3 takeaway boxes, after we had eaten until we could eat no more - I'm so looking to many happy returns of this marvellous meal. We were very warmly welcomed and efficiently served by the husband and wife team who run this lovely little place on the Hornsey Road, just near the Tollington Park junction. Definitely going back soon, highly recommended

Authentic Ethiopian cuisine, best in north london that we have tried from an Ethiopians perspective. Must try this place.

I go to Yeshi once a month. I particularly like to eat Kitfo, which is an Ethiopian delicacy. This dish is a blend of spiced minted beef, served raw or rare with cabbage and cottage cheese. The price is reasonable and the husband and wife team are very welcoming. Currently they have no alcohol licence but you can bring your own bottle.

Amazing and authentic food. We got the share platter for two and was more than enough. The place felt authentic and the service was genuine and caring. A local gem
