Yee Hong in South Lanarkshire

Decided to get a lunch from here and that was my first mistake. All our meals tasted stale and re-heated, like the back of your grandmas cupboard. Prawn crackers definitely had been lying a while. All my friends have experienced the same issues, safe to say work wasn’t a pleasant sight in the afternoon between the sink and the toilet. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy

Got a takeaway from here a snack box for lunch chicken that was like chewing a leather belt, stale chips & prawn crackers. Curry sauce didn't taste like chinese curry sauce, meal was definitely a re-heated meal, phoned to complain the man took notes and left it at that.

I asked for a hot dog and you gave me a hot dog very nice

Avoid. I understand that there may be communication issues when the owners speak little English, but it is not my fault if my order comes wrong due to that misunderstanding. We were happy to pay for the extra (although it was already £19 for fried rice with barely any sweet and sour, fried chicken rice and a small starter!!) sadly the woman was so rude to us when we phoned back to ask about the chicken balls that I had ordered and refused to accept that there might have been misunderstanding, bluntly telling us she had not got the order wrong. When we drove back to get the rest of the order there was no apologies and the woman ignored us until we got the order. Whilst we waited I noticed that out of all 7 fish in the tank only one was moving. A toddler was running in and out of the kitchen. I enjoyed the food, but it was hard to not question it's hygiene standards after our experience.

We had a lovely Chinese meal here. Quick service and very tasty food. We will definitely be back again.

Disgusting. Restaurant is smelly of damp and cold, staff are rude and food is tasteless and greasy.

Been a long time since I had anything from the Yee Hong and I now remember why. The place it's self is run down and smells inside, no draft lagers just cans, atmosphere is none existent and food just edible. I will not be back again.

Soups were bland..even after adding salt n pepper. Mains were good.ordered beer and cider. Both warm and disgusting on a hot day. Trying to sell off cider as a pint in a cola glass. Shame because staff did seem friendly. This was a second chance because last experience on mother's day was shocking. There won't be a third.

This is a wonderful restaurant with great, reasonably priced food! The staff are amazing and couldn't be more helpful. It is spotlessly clean, and you are made to feel very welcome. Love the General Tao chicken! Singapore noodles are amazing too. Their spring rolls are made with cabbage and really delicious. We are going to miss this place and their team lots as it shuts down tonight! Very Sad. Hopefully, it reopens soon!!! Good Luck to all of you.

Very disappointed after they delivered the wrong food for the 3rd time they then said that they did not do what I had ordered even though it is on their menu. Girl on the phone was very cheeky and unprofessional saying she was the boss when owner was not in and refused to refund my money. Please be very careful when dealing with this business clearly cannot read or understand their own menu the girl on the phone also said was a waste of time talking to the owners as the don't understand English I asked if she spoke Chinese and when she said no I asked how she spoke to them she said in English obviously ....

Didn't get chance to dine in as we waited over 45 mins after being shown table before we had to ask if anyone was going to take drinks order or food order, after which taken it took a further 15 mins before any drinks arrived ( 2 cans of diet Coke, 1 ordinary coke and diet irn bru was ordered) what they came to table with was wrong they took all of the drinks back even though only 1 of them was wrong and didn't think to leave the correct ones at table, this took a further 10 mins to sort out, during this time still no starters came to table after ordering and being at table for now for an 1hr in total and only receiving 2 bowls containing prawn crackers and eventually our soft drinks, after going to complain about the unacceptable waiting time with no starters we decided to leave and offered to pay for the drinks we received even though I was offered them free of charge and an explanation was given by whoever the person I spoke with said that they were short staffed and if this had been pointed out to us at the very start we may have been a bit sympathetic to the long waiting time but not acceptable when they had been prepared to sit you down at table and just ignore you till we had reminded them that we had been sitting waiting for over 45mins before hand to order, will not be eating at this restaurant again if this is the way customers are handled for service even if it was busy on arrival others at their tables looked as if they had already received some food orders or table had cleared of food, I accept busy places can have a waiting time for orders to come to table, but that's when the order has been at least taken first. So will not be recommending Yee Hong restaurant any time soon

Food OK service shocking had to ask for a drink , had to ask for prawn crackers , 3 different staff asking if wee wanted sweets when wee had already ordered , chef was serving food due to the obvious lack of staff one table walked out after waiting 20 mins. And also having to ask for drinks , needs staff training not a worthwhile experience 🙄

Visit there on 31/12 Food was nice Place was like sitting in a freezer myself and family now down with flu because restaurant was freezing 🥶 then had to deal with 2 members of staff didn't understand FINISHED after being told 5 times then we'll over charged WONT BE BACK

The food was delicious. The staff don't speak great English, but we're efficient, if somewhat blunt. The restaurant was clean but really cold, I felt like keeping my Jacket on. Needs a little bit of a revamp, decor a little tired. But overall great value for money.

Allways nice staff and nice food probably the best Chinese restaurant in Lanarkshire see you again soon our bill came the last time we where there 2 soups 2 main courses and 2 pots of Chinese tea £47 oh that bill is wrong we never had a coke at £ 1,80 so we got it amended it came back it was suddenly £42 so there must have been more going on with the bill so watch out for the musical instrument it’s called the fiddle please scrutinise. your bill when you visit be vigilant people we come here often it’s a good place to eat a first class Chinese restaurant very good food and staff and the service is wonderful too

This used to be a great establishment, but on our recent takeaway, we were all very disappointed with the quality, taste and quantity. I ordered a chicken curry with fried rice, what I got was chicken pieces from a packet served on a bed of rice, it tasted nasty. My family were all disappointed with their food. I can only imagine that this has changed ownership and chefs. We won't be back. I would have given no stars.

Placed order (lady answered) 5.08pm was told not be long. Hour passed.... called back "no order here, are u sure you called here? " yes, they denied me calling, questioning if I called a stonehouse Yeehong. Regular customer. Took zero responsibility for there mistake. Will not be back now. Unhappy as i have a hungry family thats now not getting the meal they ordered. Totally let down

It was overall an outstanding experience the service was astonishing food came really fast and tasted amazing, staff were very welcoming and friendly the interior design was pleasant and the restaurant was immaculate 10/10 would go again.

Came here for dinner as looked good on Google. Parking on the step reef was relatively easy. We had a great welcome and very good advice by the staff on what food suits us and an enormous choice of dishes on the menu. We had crispy duck for starter and then squid and noodles for main course with 2 beers each. The food was excellent both in quality and quantity. The restaurant had a lovely ambience and was clean. The cost was £55 for 2 which is excellent value. Fully recommend

Absolutely brutal on delivery times and dont answer there phone and block you on facebook 😂. Be prepared to wait and have a cheeky driver. Food was good but experience ruined by their shameful response or rather lack there of.

Visited for the first time tonight and would definitely Visit again. This little place is a proper traditional Chinese restaurant. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious! Very reasonably priced too!

Absolutely brilliant 👏I had cream òf chicken soup, chicken and gravy chips portion of fried onions my sister had chicken and mushroom soup and chicken fried rice and curry sauce. I would recommend this restaurant. X

Service has really gone downhill. Only brought half of our order. Waiting nearly two hours for food. When we call and ask for an update James was very unhelpful and just trying to get us off the phone. It’s a shame as the food is good.

Previously my favourite Chinese in Hamilton but they have changed chicken satay recipe, no longer the dark delicious sauce I loved, and kept coming back for week after week, Christmas Dinner year in year out.

The restaurant is closed because of lockdown restrictions so I went to pick up my takeaway. They told me it would be ready in 20mins, took 30 👎. It was tasty though.

I took my 83 year old Mum out for dinner tonight, we arrived at 6.20pm,and had our drinks ordered taken straight away. Then when the drinks arrived, ordered our meal. At 7.25pm,my soup arrived. Then at 8.45pm my meal arrived along with my mother's rice then 19 minutes later her sweet and sour chicken arrived, by which then her rice was cold. After waiting again for her rice to come, the poor wee soul was too tired to eat all her meal. After asking for the bill we were then told cash only!!!! No telephone number was asked for track and trace!!! We have used this restaurant for 50 years and have never had such a terrible experience before. We won't be back again!!!!

Such a friendly place, awesome environment and Decor is beautiful. Had soup and spring rolls as we weren't too hungry and it was worth it, delicious flavors and lovely presentation. Sorry I've forgot to take pics

Just had a meal there this evening. I'm never that fussed about decor as it doesn't always reflect the quality of the food. So I would say it's the best Chinese food I've eaten recently. I went here with my two brothers and we all had different dishes. I and one brother had the pre theatre menu which is very flexible and my other brother went a la carte. We all had a very good taste experience and even tasted each others food. I had chicken with ginger and spring onion. The slices of fragrant fresh ginger were cooked to perfection in this dish. The satay was delicious and the prawns in black bean sauce. Ive never tasted such a good black bean sauce. The bbq ribs were tender and tasty. We all enjoyed our meal and were not shocked by the bill. The people serving us were prompt and friendly. It was warm and welcoming place. I'll be back for sure. I'd recommend this place for a brilliant taste experience and a warm welcome. Beyond that, I have no dry mouth or stomach ache from eating this food as I usually do from eating at other Chinese restaurants.

Good atmosphere, not cheap but reasonable

This was great, pre-theater fantastic value, very friendly and quick service. 3 courses, sit in, under £12. Very tasty, will be back!
