Ye Babam Ye in Reading

The boss clearly wasn’t working this evening, I don’t know why I’ve paid £8sommat for 3 pieces of burnt, fatty, cold lamb which I can’t eat. Food has never been like this and I’m disappointed :( What days does boss have off so I can avoid coming on these days?

We ordered food from there when my brother went to collect It. At the front of the shop it was advertised 20% Student Discount on all Menu available 7 days a week. My brother showed his Student ID but was advised by a man there that this Student Discount offer is finish 3 WEEKS AGO and this sign is to taken off. The chips were soggy and the Pita bread was stale, the Kebab was alright.

Food was disgusting all cold and dry. Rang the place not helpful at all its a wonder they have any business at all the way they speak to there customers

We ordered on Tuesday night and daughter ordered kids burger and received nuggets, My meal was miss bread, on the day the gentleman said he would send out 2 hours later at 10pm I called he said he would start it now I said don’t worry it’s too late. He said next time we will give kebab and kids burger free of charge. So Friday comes and put and order together and said about the the mistake Earlier in the week the rude guy on the phone called me a liar and refused to sort it out this is poor customer service for below average food. AVOID !!!!!!! much better around Istanbul grill far Superior.

Ordered food late after having a drink came in 25 minutes and the food was amazing, very fresh will definitely be returning again! Ordered a chicken donner and was top tier. Driver was very polite. I understand they’re short staffed so anyone giving bad reviews are just being fussy. Can’t complain at all from the service to the food was perfect!

I ordered cod and chips. The cod was burned, dry and inedible. The chips were floppy and greasy. Luckily we got a refund through Just Eat and will never order food from here again. Surely whoever put this "fish" into the container for delivery could see it was completely burned, which tells me that they just don't care. Avoid!

I did a reorder of the same food I’d previously had, it took 90 Minutes to arrive it was cold and not what I ordered. How can you order a kebab and what turns up is a container of bland meat, no pita bread no salad and no sauce and a cold container of chips I had to put in the microwave. When I phoned all I got was,(hard to understand) I only have one driver I sort a bit of discount out next time and put the phone down. For you there will be no next time shoddy food shoddy service 👎

For many years I have used them they have always been fast excellent food and great value for money. Sadly that’s no longer the case I can only assume that it is now run by different people as the food was not a patch on previous experiences. The meat was overcooked chewy I had asked for sauce and there wasn’t any, and the salad tasted like it had been left out on display for at least a week totally uneadable. In a way I found this sad experience because I can remember Ye Babam Ye, opening in the 1980s staff were always friendly the restaurants won awards For cleanliness and hygiene. From now on sadly I will be looking elsewhere for my donors.

We ordered 3 kebabs. Ordered as seen in Deliveroo. 1 hour after expected delivery time we called and asked where it was and got told 15 mins, called 20 mins later and got told the same. This happened about 4/5 times in total. They keep on saying it’s on its way, it’s on its way. And then hung up on us. Multiple times. It was shocking and the worts service and food I have ever received. Not only was the delivery the worst Experience ever? The food was dry and some pieces even pink… I enclose pictures. And will be reporting this company to a good standard agency. PLEASE DONT ORDER HERE.

I asked for a chicken shish and chips and got chicken shish and pitta, for £8.50, I was overcharged and she didn’t care that they got my order wrong. Food is okay but service is bad.

Was absolutely terrible, placed order via Deliveroo, food was delivered NON-contact free and the guy insisted on delivering into my hand and wasn''t even wearing a mask, also food was cold and bread was stale, filed a complaint to deliveroo

I put my order in via the shop itself at 6pm. Unfortunately for the 1st time I paid for the food via their app. I wish I hadn’t!!! I rang at 7.15pm and was told it would be a further 10mins. I waited until about 7.50pm, rang again and was told it would be a further 10mins. The guy kept calling me darling which was really infuriating and was not very apologetic. He just kept saying they were really busy and that others were ok with waiting longer than me, if I hadn’t have paid I would have cancelled it then and there. The food arrived 2hours 15 mins after I had ordered it, in a Just Eat bag even though I had not ordered from them. To top it off, half of the food was missing and the chips tasted like cardboard as they had obviously been in the container for too long!!!! It had not been separated as I had requested it to be. The guy delivering it could not speak very well and so it was not worth complaining to him. We will not be using them ever again!!!! We like having takeaways on a regular basis and would have appreciated it if we had been told they were very busy which would have given us the option to leave it for tonight but it would have meant we would have ordered from them another time. Be honest to your customers and maybe you will keep more of them!!!!

Soggy onion rings, not good nugs, not good chips. Amazing side salad, definitely best in reading. Good chillis. When ordering lot of side salads the salad seemed to get more and more scarce. Okay seish, decent but soggy pita. Well chilled diet coke and fanta. Always comes in a bag which is so heplful because everything leaks. Good halloumi in wrap although overall tummy hurts afterwards. Much chilli sauce when asked in shop. In conclusion would get side salad again.

My order was delivered by the police. They had arrested the driver at the end of my road for driving with no licence, no insurance and being under the influence of drugs! I was already pissed as my food had taken two hours to get to me but when I opened the bag it was completely the wrong food. It was cold and soggy garlic bread with cold curly fries. Nothing relevant to my order. I called yebambamye and explained but they said there was nothing they could do as they had no other drivers. I asked for a refund and was told I couldn’t have one as he didn’t know the password? The guy eventually said he would get his boss to sort it later and pretty much hung up on me. No apology or refund so far. I would avoid this place. If they are willing to cut corners with drivers it makes Me wonder if they cut corners with hygiene or kitchen standards. Now doing a chargeback through my bank.

Never used to have a problem with this shop until tonight.... Really poor customer service and I really don’t think I’ll be ordering again if I’m honest. Ordered a kebab and it came to me with the wrong sauce and veg on after they were told specifically what I wanted. So I called the shop up to trying to solve the issue and all the bloke on the other end of the phone said that it was my fault... even though he read it back to me on the phone. Refused to send the correct kebab out to me and also refused to give a refund. Total waste of time, food and money! Shame on you Ye babam Ye

Anoche pedí un kebab mixto. La entrega fue rápida. Donner tenía un sabor muy extraño, pero yo tenía hambre y me comí mucho. Esta mañana tuve algunos dolores de estómago y cuando llegó la tarde me sentí muy mal. ¡Evite este lugar a toda costa!

I highly recommend choosing this restaurant. I can really tell from my long experience that they have the best quality of meat, always have fresh food and I never had any trouble with my command. So, 5 stars for them.

The kebabs are alright but over priced, and don't get me started on the cheese cake... 3 quid for a slice what a rip off... overall they are ok but nothing special, not the best in Reading as others claim

Mi familia y yo pedimos 5 comidas en línea y nos preguntamos si los kebabs venían con mayonesa y ensalada, ya que no había opción para agregarlos. Llamé al restaurante y el hombre que respondió fue muy servicial y educado, y dijo que me llamaría porque la señal no era buena (lo que hizo). Llamó y revisó cada comida individual preguntando qué salsas y ensaladas nos gustaría poner en ellas. El pedido llegó a los 45 minutos, todo estaba correcto y la comida muy buena. 5 estrellas por servicio.

Staff rude asf, phoned up to tell them they had forgotten to deliver the chips and they began swearing on the phone. Food eventually turned up over an hour later and was cold. The meat is weird big chunks of lamb, not a proper Kebab.

Staff are ignorant and rude, they will swear at you and give you grief if you call about your order having missing items or wrong items upon delivery.

No está mal la comida, el problema es con el servicio de entrega y el personal (el conductor de entrega al menos).Pedí mi comida en su aplicación, me dieron una ventaja de 50 minutos. The best kebabs in Berkshire. The meat is very tasty and everything is fresh and reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you fancy a kebab.

Used them on and off for years. You’ll be lucky to get food these days. Multiple phone calls won’t improve the service and food isn’t that good compared to others we’ve found now. Awful.

Pedimos comida, vivimos dentro de un radio de 1 milla como máximo de la tienda. Nuestra comida que fue colocada alrededor de las 5 pm no apareció. Llamamos a la tienda varias veces y nos dijeron que el conductor se había ido y luego se perdió y la comida apareció poco después. Nunca llegó. O el conductor todavía está perdido hoy o nunca se molestó. Ninguna disculpa, nada. Fumando

Un restaurante local bien establecido, a 10 minutos del centro de la ciudad. Utilizado con frecuencia por los locales durante los últimos 30 años hasta que los establecimientos locales se llevaron a cabo.Descuidado, demasiado caro y francamente desagradable comida. Nuestra última y última visita nos llevó a esperar 3 horas para nuestra comida que nunca llegó a nuestras instalaciones, varias llamadas telefónicas a un trabajador que se disculpó y que insistió en que el conductor se había perdido y que estaría con nosotros en breve. El conductor nunca apareció. No teníamos llamadas telefónicas para explicar dónde estaba nuestra comida o cuánto tiempo o apenas una disculpa.Decepcionante y este fue una vez el establecimiento de comida más conocido y prometedor.

Ye Babam Ye is amazing! Friendly staff, clean shop, really good kebabs! You can even go and wait in the pub next door and they will put it through a cubby hole into the pub when it's ready!

Been getting kebabs from here for last 30 years. Honestly would say its the best i've had in Reading definately worth a trip or delivery in your in the area.

Order from these guys most weeks and love their food. Always fast delivery and arrived hot Great service 😊

Not every one can cook a good meat properly. If you love kebab just visit there. Nice and clean. Best turkish kebab in Reading. Good value for the high quality of the food.

Brill kebabs & burgers, delivered hot and on time, friendly staff, best place for kebabs in Reading and has been for years.

We received a leaflet through the door for Ye Babam Ye and placed a delivery that day at 8.30pm. We were first told that it would be £2.00 charge for delivery as we live in Twyford, although there was no mention of a radius on the leaflet (anywhere) but we agreed to pay that surcharge. We were told 45-50 minutes, after an hour and 10 minutes, we called to see where our food was, we were told "its on its way", another 15 minutes later, (at 9.50pm) we called again and ended up cancelling the order as was told again "its on its way" we ended up going to the local kebab van, as we returned with our food at 10.20pm, the delivery man turned up with our food 1 hour and 50 minutes after placing the order, I was astonished to see them turn up, let alone after all that time, we are only ten minutes down the road from them. It was the worst customer service we have ever received.

For a great kebab this is the place. Very clean , polite, and super quality. Kebabs don't come any better
