Yau's Chinese Restaurant in Basildon

Was waiting an hour just to be told they can’t deliver 3 miles from restaurant.

Change the menu and all the numbers are different. You don’t get what you ordered.

Big portions, lovely food not greasy. New favourite restaurant for takeaway .

Not so good, first you notice dirty windows, then a dirty well worn carpet and a wall stripped of wallpaper. Àsk to use the loo, go up some dirty stone steps and your back in the Victorian age when sanititation didn't seem too important. The kitchen looks a mess but clean. The food was OK but definately nothing special. If that's the best in Town I feel sorry for you all. Needs improvements.

By far the best Chinese in Billericay. The food isn’t greasy and has so much flavour! No longer a walk in restaurant since Covid-19 but a superb takeaway. I highly recommend

Friendly staff who are always up for a chat while you're waiting for your food, and the food itself is just amazing. Only place I go to for my Chinese take away.

The guy who is taking the calls could do with abit of customer care. Very abrupt, rushing with a too busy attitude. Food came on time. Chips Recooked and a slight suspicious finely chopped mushrooms are being used in the chicken chow mein dishes. other dishes was nice and had flavours but a hair discovered in the prawn crackers! which put us off. will not be rushing back

Best Chinese restaurant in the Brentwood area, food is so fresh and tasty with generous portions.

After trying every Chinese in Billericay and not finding a consistent one that we was happy with, we then found Yau’s, we ordered last night for the first time and I’ve gotta say it was absolutely delicious and couldn’t fault it at all! Delivery was super fast and the food was an easy 10/10!!! Can honestly say we’ve now found our go to Chinese! Thankyou Yau’s for such an amazing dinner!

Even though we are further out than they normally deliver to they still come to deliver. The food is hands down the best Chinese I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of Chinese food! We have eaten in before too and service was great! Will definately be eating there again! Thank you 😊

Been going to Yaus for many years but stopped when previous owner sold. The food was to the excellent standard that it always was just found the drinks expensive now.

Group of 12 of us net here for a friend's 40th. Restaurant was very accommodating and service was prompt never letting a glass get empty. The food was absolutely delicious. Note worthy was the ribs where the meat just fell off the bone - amazing! Looking forward to going back for sure!

First takeaway since Tony left. Ribs great but the rest went in the bin. Think bland 70s Chinese takeaway. Won't be going back.

Really good service. Food on the whole was good, particularly the broccoli dish, but there were a couple of questionable pieces of chicken in both the starter and the main course dishes.

Worst meal ever! Ordered home delivery of three different meals. 2 chicken based meals appeared almost identical. Tasteless and watery with soggy veg and horrible colouring. Complaining had no effect. No manager on site and no one rang me back. Avoid!!

Absolutely disgusted ordered a takeaway over 2 hours later nothing arrived and we tried to call 128 times to get through and got no answer on both the numbers advertised. Will never use again

Best thing about the meal was the bottle of coke. Ribs, I took 1 bite and refused to put my taste buds through any more torture. The chicken and sweet corn soup was bland and tasteless. The garlic chicken pieces did however taste of chicken albeit the kitchen must have run out of garlic. To sum up the experience, the most enjoyable part was writing this review. The foxes will be well fed tonight!

Great service, raw chicken spoilt the meal. Even though the chicken has already gone back, the same food came back raw and the manager tried to say it was a supplier issue... Staff are great, but the food wasn't.

Have eaten here lots of times before. I collected a take away for 4 people and now two of them have food poisoning. I am extremely disappointed as 2 of my family members are poorly. This has ruined the weekend with my family. The restaurant was busy and maybe they rushed the order through. This is unacceptable.
