Wouldn't go in no more place is a joke. Management are rude, customers change barrels and serve themselves. Will be contacting head office to check CCTV, if the leaks haven't screwed the cameras. Go goose or lion

Poor customer service and rude male bar tender, I would never recommend this place to anyone. My partner asked for rose wine and was given some sort of white wine which said rose on the bottle, I went to the bar to ask if it was white wine because it looked and tasted like white wine but the male bar tender was very rude and dismissive when I told him next time he should show options for customers to pick. Had to buy a different wine which was actually rose and no apology whatsoever. Honestly I would rate this place zero if I could!

Food drink and good service during the day. Music good atmosphere of an evening Good all round place.

Was just a night out to unwind. Although I felt a little out of place (not as young as I used to be), but nevertheless, the place was banging. I would strongly recommend it.

Came to Yates today and was met by one of the lovely staff members who served me, They was very welcoming with a massive smile, I didn't know what I wanted and They said what was the best sellers, I would highly recommend Yates Romford to any of my friends and family :)

Popped in to watch the rugby and couldn't have been made more welcome. Owner Elyza was fun, cheerful and chatty . Would definitely go back.

The biggest issue about this place is the manager, who has a superiority complex and is rude and aggressive. The National pub chain owners Stonegate Group state they are not involved in operators' conduct. A locally owned venue called Ivy Tree has opened recently. Reality is about to dawn. You cannot have overly egotistic behaviour impacting paying customers.

It is a very basic place with a weird atmosphere and a strange crowd. It's not a place I would visit again in a hurry. Also, it's a nightmare to get served at yhe bar they need more bar staff as the 2 that were there were definitely overworked.

Jack who served me and my mates was pure awesome. So helpful and quick, we will returning for sure! Keep it up guys!

What a disappointing evening in this pub - again! Twice we've been to this pub in recent months, because the Wetherspoons was closed for a refurb. Twice the pub shut early at 10pm on a Tuesday night. On the website it states closes at 12am. What is frustrating is the staff don't even tell you they are closing early! No notices that I saw stating we close at 10pm - Absolutely ridiculous. We thought the first time may have been a one off - but no. Sorry, but doubt we will be back.

Doesn't have its own car park and street parking difficult - no idea about public transport access. Large space inside with high and low seating to choose from and large staircase to toilets, though thankfully there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor which needs a radar key. Toilet was a bit shabby with a few wet patches on the floor but otherwise clean, spacious and had usual facilities. Drink prices about average. Visited for Bank Holiday Monday karaoke with a great presenter, Penny. Only a small crowd there so not much atmosphere but it did mean we got to sing a lot!

I popped into Yates’s for the first time since the refurbishment. The place was absolutely filthy! The wooden floors were sticky and the tables similar. The chair fabric was rotten and there were remnants of drinks that appeared to have been thrown upwards on the ceiling. No food menus, but one chap was tucking into a Subway without any comeback from staff. I finished my drink and left. I won’t be in a rush to go back. Oh, and I didn’t dare visit the toilets!

The manager's behavior is disgraceful. She doesn't know how to talk to people or treat them. Needs a class of customer decency!

Good venue, looked after our group on Armed Forces Day. Efficient and friendly bar service, we would like to go back

Amazing value and great music unlike Spoons

A fantastic stop gap on a pub crawl. The music on a Saturday night played by a DJ was commercial dance. The drinks were ok and staff were fine too. There are plenty of similar establishments in Romford so there's plenty of choice, and Yates is not a bad option. Lovely place to have a quick munch as well, also great place at Friday night. Only downside is the music, could have better DJ. Overall it's fine. We moved on after a couple of drinks, but was well worth the stop.

Pretty good pub and the vibe is great.

I had an unfortunate incident here on Saturday evening. An intoxicated bar staff was visibly drinking behind the bar refused to serve anyone non white. Upon asking her why, she said she’s not serving and stuck her middle fingers up. The bar manager of the bar acknowledged her behaviour but unfortunately this continued until a member of the security team removed her.

Got kicked out by owner for no reason even though we showed id. All that we were doing was watching football and then she tried threatening us by saying she will call The police.

They reopened on a Tuesday by Friday they put the price of beer up the disabled toilets were disgusting before all they done was painted over the broken wall tiles there's beer stains on the ceiling as you enter the place can't believe they didn't repaint the ceiling must have been the cheapest make over in history?

Came in earlier today with my service animal was asked by the three bar staff sat at the bar chatting, to leave as they don’t allow animals, I showed my dogs paperwork and explained it’s a legal requirement. The manager told me she didn’t know the law and told us to leave the premises. I highly suggest some further training, especially to the rude Eastern European manager on shift today has 0 communication skills, empathy or knowledge of the country she lives in.

Popped in here at around 1am on a Friday night (Saturday morning), it was OK, only one of two places open in Romford at this time.

Had a wonderful work lunch at Yates today, was served by two amazing bar staff kye and jade who gave us amazing food recommendations, would totally suggest the 5 small plate deal. Drinks were amazing and really put us in a good mood for work again.

Went to Yates for a chill night out with mates and ended up having the best laugh of my life. Was served by Kye and Ben who were 10/10 bar staff, great people and great drinks for a decent price. Will be back 100%

Great Monday night karaoke. Clearly the place to be on a Monday if you want cheap drinks and a sing along! Becca was very attentive. Will be back

Was at Yates on a busy Saturday afternoon. And i was served by a really helpful Jurate. I would defo recommend it. Will be back!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. My friend took me out for my birthday for a meal and to watch football. We had a drink and then ordered a meal. They advised that they did not have chips and that they were going to replace it with waffle chips. I said no to this and agreed to a potato instead. Ten minutes later, a guy came and told my friend that they have no bacon so he would have have a sausage. My friend did not want a a third sausage but that was an awkward conversation because the guys was quite insistent. They replaced his 2 bacons with one hashbrown instead. This is not what he wanted!! Then the food came. I noted that my food (the mixed grill) was missing a chicken breast. I complained to the staff (I had not been told beforehand). I was told that they had given me an extra sausage. I said I did not want another sausage. The manager went to the back and returned. She asked what did I want as a replacement? I asked what the options were and she said I cam have anything on the menu. I would not mind a steak. She went to the back again and came back and said the chef said steak costs more than the chicken so they would not do it. I said fine, but the chicken breast I was missing out costs more than the one sausage it has been replaced with. The manager went to the back again and said no, we are not changing it. I said OK in that case, can you discount the meal? She said no, she will not discount the mean (she was not very polite by the way). In the end I suggested she refunds the meal, I don't want it (I had not eaten any yet) which she did and I did not eat.
