Yas in Hammersmith and Fulham

Sadly missed after 40 years of trading as one of the area's few late night eateries. It's last few months were pretty dreadful so at least its been put of it's misery.

Used to be great - Sadly no longer. One waiter for about 9 tables. Food took over an hour. You'll thank me later.

After the pub 19 expo in Olympia, We went to Yas restaurant. We experienced for first time Persian food. Our waitress was very friendly and help us to choose our meal. However, the food was disappointed with a lot of oil in the meal. Food need to improve. I cannot recommend the restaurant.

Me encanta la comida del Medio Oriente y ser un ex chef principal durante muchos años cocinando en SuperYachts, estaba realmente entusiasmado con lo que YAS tenía para ofrecer como en el menú que citó, Marco Pierre White, al declarar "La mejor comida del Medio Oriente en Londres". ”

Visité este restaurante hoy y me horroricé por el servicio y la actitud del personal. El camarero no reconoció el pedido a menos que usted haya citado un número del menú. Pedí una comida vegetariana y me sirvieron pollo. Cuando me quejé y señalé la comida en el menú, compró al chef y me dijo que a pesar de una gran cantidad al lado de la comida y que la lista de ingredientes eran verduras, no era vegetariana. Compró una comida vegetariana que, francamente, no tenía sabor y luego me cobró en la cuenta. Cuando me quejé de que el camarero puso los ojos en blanco y lo enmendó, pero igual puso el cargo por servicio en la cuenta. Luego salió y fumó un cigarrillo en la entrada del local.

I was refused service at this restaurant due to travelling with a guide dog. the owner quite literally pushed me out of the door. It is illegal to refuse service to guide dog owners and the owner of this restaurant was incredibly rude. I went to the Hare and Tortoise just up the road instead where the service was fantastic and the guide dog was welcomed.

Yas is now one of my favorite places to eat in the area. First time eating Persian food in London and was not disappointed - would recommend the chicken kebab and hummus. Open late as well.

Nice ambiance inside with interesting décoration. Service slow with slightly air of disinterest. Food choice meant expensive choice of small starters for someone on their own and no mixed option available. Really was looking forward to kebab grilled lamb, but was bland and served with very little bland salad. All in all not at all good value and dissapointing

I’ve been coming here for years. It has significantly improved since the new management. The food is delicious and quality of service is outstanding. The kebab was incredible. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food and vibes!!

I must say that this restaurant is one of the worst ever visits. Me and my friend ordered kebab mix of lamb and chicken. Meat was very dry especially the chicken so we made a complaint. The waitress took our plates and made her way to the kitchen. When we notice she did not come back and communicate with us we went back to see her. I wanted to pay for what ever she wanted but her reply was "The chef examined the meat and found out it was not dry" When I made attempt to pay she said " This has never happened before and we don't want your money" and rushed away. I must say that this attitude was not very pro and even though if this complaint was for the first time she should have handled it better. I wish them well but I will never come back and I will never recommend this place. All the best of luck.

we came to Yas after being told by the Warwick Arms pub on Warwick Road after being told they were closed 45 minutes before thw actual closing (please see brief review of that shortly). After that we were told by Handes Flower pub (also recommended...but read review) that they were closed for everything yet there were 12 people eating and drinking in there but we were not even allowed to have anything (can you say racist?). I digress. Yas was utterly fantastic. We had Lamb and Chicken kebab, the okra and rice, tea, Doogsh (wow!!) We will be back for sure! Best Persian food in London!

This is a sad review for me to write. We went into the restaurant as we had walked past many times and it looked so inviting. Well all I can say is we walked in and waited to be seated. We waited and waited. Nobody came near us and trust me we tried very hard to get their attention. It was early on a Sunday evening and we had walked our feet off. The restaurant was not busy and we got the impression we were not welcome so walked out.

We’ve been coming here for many many years and we decided to come again to celebrate my parents anniversary.

Had soup, the best bread I've ever eaten in my life, houmous, and a spinach and kidney bean dish with saffron rice, all of it was so tasty and will definitely return, my wife had the same and also really loved the food

Can’t understand why this place was busy. The mixed grill at £65 for 2 people had a few chicken bits & lamb kebabs and the server was extremely rude when asked a question .

This is a restaurant that could be packed except they forgot they were a restaurant. Actually, it is two separate parts with inside being mostly empty tables and the outside being for folks smoking hookah pipes. Walking into the restaurant can be tricky as the entrance is narrow and dangerous as the burning coals used for the pipes are sitting out in the open.

Waited a long time for our 2 dishes to arrive and at this time the restaurnt only had 3 tables occupied.We cancelled the bread order not long after our main courses as other customers who arrived after us had already been served theirs

Food was great, real Persian food and very well served, spices at its best. However the service is not good, takes a long timw to get the food and our waiter was rude. It is expensive

Went here on a visit to London for a concert,and my friend said that though he hadn’t been there for quite awhile,that the food was always amazing,and being a foodie,I really looked forward to it.well,what a let down.The fact that Iran we’re playing Spain in the World Cup would explain a bit,however if the management weren’t bothered then they should just have shut the restaurant.so,we ordered starters-Shiraz salad and chicken wings.the salad was very small,and the chicken wings came in a portion of 3 small wings,and at £7.50,I though poor value.however they were hot and did taste very well.we ordered an open lamb sandwich and then a mixed lamb dish next.the open sandwich came with cold stale bread,which my friend sent back to be warmed.it came back cold again and stale,so he sent it back again.then we found out that the oven wasn’t heated up yet-would be another hour-and therein lay the problem.we also ordered bread to have with our meal-an extra portion.it never came,so we asked about it again.it never came,though my friends meal came back cold again,and the bread was like cardboard.After that stage,enough was enough.we asked for the bill.we were charged for everything,including 2 portions of bread that we never got,plus 12.5% service.eventually after negotiating,the open sandwich which was never eaten was taken from the bill,as was the 2 portions of bread that never arrives,and likewise the service charge for which we received the most appalling service I have ever encountered in any restaurant anywhere was taken off the bill.and not even an apology.unbelievable.as we were leaving,1 other couple left,and a further couple were on the verge of leaving

Went for lunch seated myself after 18 mins went and asked for a menu another twenty minutes before I was asked what I wanted placed order then another long wait for the food. Which left a lot to be desired.

Waited 40 mins for 1 course- when I got there was only 2 parties in front of me- decent food- but long long wait- have travelled extensively in Middle East and this service wouldn’t be tolerated

We visited for lunch on Saturday after visiting an exhibition in Olympia , once seated we noticed the couple next to us being irate , in chatting with them we found out they had been waiting for 45 mins , I told them to complain and upon doing so , were told they had lost their order , so they got up and left! We waited 20 mins for our meal , which was average and no drinks , when we decided to pay and told them to strike off the drinks off our bills , they just knocked off , no apologies ! Needless to say we will not be bothering to go back!

It was an amazing place , friendly staff and excellent quality of food. Our re union night couldn’t be any better.

Convenientemente situado para Kensington Olympia pero sospechosamente vacío, decidimos anular los signos de advertencia y dar Yas. Worth a trip for its hookah, hummus and kebabs. Delicious food indeed. You can eat indoors or watch people as you eat outside. Either way, it's worth a visit.

Muy mal servicio. Se sentó, espere 10 minutos. No hay menú dado. Pedí en el mostrador si podíamos pedir. Me dijeron que no por 10 minutos, ya que están ocupados. Esperé otros 20 minutos. Yay me fue recomendado por el hotel y estaba a poca distancia andando; así, lo probé. Dicen especializarse en cordero, así que pedí una mezcla de cordero y el pollo brochetas. El pollo fue la estrella de la placa: sabrosa y húmeda! El cordero picada, mientras que bueno, estaba un poco seco. Tienen un vino muy limitado por el menú de vidrio, uno blanco y uno rojo. La red era decente. Tienen más opciones en la botella. El servicio era lento, dado que era temprano y no estaba lleno.

The decor is so dated in this place that being told by the waiter it happens to be the oldest Persian restaurant in London doesn't surprise me at all, old paint, old table and chairs, OTT use of maps and paintings...........at first I thought we were looking at some sort of meal for two prices for our favourite Koobideh and rice or Sultani mains because the former is priced the same as other places charge for the latter ! My wife had Aash reshteh for starter which was divine according to her, my own mix herb (sabzi) starter was also very good with plenty of white cheese and the very thoughtful touch of pre-soaked and tender walnuts (other Persian restaurants take note), bread was good but unexceptional, service was generally OK if a little indifferent, another rather notable positive for me was the fact they bring you glasses half filled with ice for your drinks, many Persian restaurants seem to think just plonking a barely warm can on the table constitutes service. The mains rice and koobideh dishes were very very good, the meat genuinely tasted nice and the portions were acceptable. Glancing around at the pictures one can easily forgive the former Shah's portrait on the wall (it's only been 40 years since the revolution after all !) but one of Saudi Arabia's Salman ?? This chap and his regime are sworn enemies of Iran for crying out loud. In conclusion - excellent food, expensive beyond the demands of the location or atmosphere, we won't be regulars.

El camarero señorita dice 'estoy trabajando 'pedimos entrantes hummus, aceitunas y un chapuzón berenjena y una botella de red. Mientras comíamos podíamos oír un intercambio enojado desde cerca de la cocina. Cuando voy a comer en un restaurante de gama, aparte de la comida comestible quiero un personal amable y un ambiente agradable. No he pedido un plato principal. Cuando el camarero llegó en el momento bill ME DIJO QUE YO NO ESTABA PAGANDO el servicio, ya que no era buena. Señorita puedo ofrecerle algunos consejos? Su trabajo, Cambiar! ! !

At Olympia on business for 3 nights. This was the final evening meal and what a finale. Best lamb kebab, char grilled chicken skewer and saffron rice ever. Sublime and well worth the money. Try if you can.

Yas has been London's most highly rated Persian food restaurant for nearly four decades. There is a reason. The food is simply amazing.We are there twice during out stay and I'll combine the meals for review.We walked a block from our hotel and walked inside and were welcomed by a friendly host who sat us inside at a nice table.We ordered the Ash-e-reshteh, the ghormeh sabzi, the zereshk polo, the bal e morgh and tea at the first meal and ordered the nan-e-lavash, the mirza ghasemi, the bale e morgh, the zereshk polo and the baghali polo at the second.These "polo" meals are chicken and lamb dishes with long grain rices and various spices which are divine. Ghormeh sabzi is a divine vegetarian dish with beans and greens over rice.Go try them all and be prepared to fall in love with Yas -- the best Persian restaurant in London.

Ate there regularly when I was married (to a Persian). Never disappointed & I understand it's been in the same hands all these years. Top restaurant.

I've visited before, and the food is edible, albeit dry and bland. However, my last visit 40 minutes before closing, they laughed when I said I wanted takeaway. I can understand 15 or 20 minutes before closing, not wanting new orders, but almost an hour before closing is ridiculous. Better choices in the area.

Popped in for lunch whilst visiting an event at Olympia. Decent enough food - some dishes were fabulous, others a bit ordinary. Busy lunchtime which meant service was slower than we would have liked. Reasonable value for money - definitely better than the rip off refreshments inside Olympus!

We made a mistake by not reading recent reviews. Older Iranian lady behind our table was arguing with waitress and chef about the food. Our waitress forgot to bring us drinks. Hummus was nothing special. Main course - we ordered one from the special dish menu - and it was not available. We than ordered a grilled lamb (arrived cold) and grilled boneless chincken. Really not worth a half of price. One of my worst London experience. So, avoid it!

Wow where should I start? I wanted to take my friend to this place as he just moved into the area and I had a great experience eating here 4 years ago. Firstly, they have turned this place into an Arab style shisha place a la Edgware road. The staff ignored us who were waiting for a table and decided that it was more important to talk to their mate who was smoking shisha. After trying to get their attention for 5 minutes in the entrance my friend just walked in and took a seat... The sabzi portion was too small and cheese was bland. Mast & Khiyar was tasteless. For our main we ordered two kobideh that was, you guessed it. Tasteless! That's like such a standard dish to mess up man.. especially when you charge £13 for a dish that on avg. cost £8,50.And then we got to pay the bill they had put a 10% service charge who the male waiter argued (yes, argued) with me that just because it was written on the menu they had the right to charge me for it... Of course, I did not pay the service as the staff (except one polish lady who brought us the food) were sleepwalking. FOOD ZERO!! Service SUB-ZERO. AMBIENCE - PUBLIC TOILET. Khak to sareton ba in service ashgal va gaza mozakhraf! AVOID AVOID AVOID

I dined at this restaurant today and was disappointed with the quality of the food.The naan was very dry and tasted of flour.The Lubyaa Pallow smelt funny and I couldn't stomach it all and left 3/4 of it.I am very disappointed as I had to pay for a meal which I should have enjoyed.I used to eat here a long time ago and the food used to be really good, I am assuming they have changed their chefI would suggest the owner sample his food and each dish before serving it to their customers I won't be coming back Be warned!

RIP OFF! a total rip off!! My cousin came from Canada, we went to yas for shisha and food. She decided to pay the bill without me knowing. 3 days after, we went to another Persian restaurant , and I paid the bill, she was surprised how cheap the bill was! When I asked her how she'd paid to Yas, and after going through the menu, I realised that they've over charged her by £36!!!!!! Instead of £40 they'd charge her £76! And since she's from Canada, she thought that's the price in london. When I went back to the restaurant , they just apologised and said there's nothing they can do. Mr Eshraghi, the owner , needs to learn some ethics and manners, and respect his clients instead of stealing from them.

we come to yas from time to time, we like the food and shisha, however there is an egyptian waiter or Shisha man who is more than rude.He is rude to the point that my friends and another group were discussing why is he being rude while we were nothing but nice to him.

Very expensive, all price before ordering anything, had me waiting 30 mins didn't offer a seat, had me standing. Staff neglectful and bias. Shame they have no local competition. I will never go there again.

Good food and very welcoming owner the food was good and it's very welcoming staff and atmosphere. There is a shisha place in front of restaurant which makes u feel u are in heart of Middle East where the shisha come from in the end I highly recommend this to who looking for somewhere push and quite to spend some time with d love ones

Visited for a late Saturday lunch after visiting an exhibition at Olympia. The restaurant seemed to be operating on a café basis with just the street side tables being used. The food we close was simple but very nicely presented and very nice. Service was very poor though as there seemed to be just one waitress and the chef on duty. The waitress was not keeping an eye on the tables which was a bit tricky as a customer. She did not see we had arrived and we almost went elsewhere! That aside, enjoyed it.

The food was okay but the service was awful! I wanted rice as a side dish with a sandwich and this was apparently too complicated for the waitress to understand after trying again and again I gave up! I was constantly ignored, even though it was very quiet, clearly having a chat to their colleagues was more important than serving me! They they had the cheek to add a service charge to the bill!

My friend suggested that we try Yas since it was local and had good reviews. I must agree, the evening was excellent. I love authentic Iranian cuisine and I have to say that the starters, main and dessert did not disappoint. The food was very tasty and the service was impeccable. We could see that the team were short of staff but the people working that evening took care of all our needs without delay. The Manager was exceptionally attentive. The entertainment for the evening was a belly dancer. She was excellent. I would most definitely recommend Yas to friends and family.

Arrived around midnight for a very late dinner with a number of friends. Quickly seated, friendly staff. Reasonable menu, and prices not too bad. Food was nice, but not spectacular. I would go again if in need of a late meal when in this area. They also have shisha and an outside terrace (onto main road, which is quiet late on).The coffee was very nice and well priced.

A couple of us found ourselves being drawn across Hammersmith road today to Yas for lunch.We are at a Cyber conference in London and this place is situated directly opposite, so made a good option for a quick lunch; at least that's what assumed.It was extremely busy and understandable considering a lot of folks from the conference where out for lunch.That in mind, you would think this restaurant would do some capacity planning and have more then 2 waitresses on shift when the building opposite them is a conference hall and there is a massive show on? They didn't and consequently; it took 10 mins to sit down, over 15 mins to get a menu and equally as long to get the bill.The food was very average... we both had the open chicken kebab sandwich and it was just OK which no real flavours either way. The meat was cooked well enough but the whole experience wasn't great.If you have time then maybe, otherwise avoid.

We were there last year and wanted to go back. So we were stopping down the road and we walked to it. The food was as good as we had before. The chicken and lamb kebabs were marinated and just fell to bits when you ate them. Will be going back.It's good food at a great price

I came here for a dinner with my girlfriend after a long day at Olympia. It was recommended by one of my friend who in love with Persian food. Great warm interior and nice Persian music. We had a starters, main and dessert. The Baghali polo was superb and the lamb kebab so tender. I can tell the focus is on quality and not a quantity. Service was excellent and price is decent. Welcoming restaurant serving superb flavoured Persian food. Highly recommended. Make sure you try saffron Tadig with Ghormehsabzi. We will definitely go back again.

I went two times to this restaurant and I was not disappointed.The first time I was attending an exhibition at Olympia. Hungry, we went there with my colleague and we ordered a main dish which was really good. I had the chance to go back with some friends on a Friday evening. This time we ordered a few starters, main courses and desserts to taste Persian cuisine: the flavours were amazing. The meat was so tender! The staff was friendly and looked after us. We even had a belly dancer! We enjoyed our evening.

Was at Olympia for trade show needed place for lunch.The food is not that great it is very dear. The server was lost. Wines atrociously over priced. Take cab up the road towards Kensington high street where there are better choices. Avoid this place.

I been there few times,and last time I've been there with my colleagues. We were such a big group and the restaurant was too busy but still the quality and speed of service was perfect. The staffs were very friendly and helpful.The restaurant and atmosphere is second to none. Highly recommend this place. And also we were there at Saturday night and they had belly dancer which brings too much joy

Very average food, 18£ for a chicken kebab and rice ? That is definitely very expensive for a very simple kebab with nothing more than rice and chicken.We are local workers and can make sure our office will never come back here..Service is also very very poor.

We had a lovely evening with our friends. The food was very tasty and we did tried a few dishes.The waiters were very friendly and attention to details. If you are in mood for something outside the norm, this is the place to go.Many thanks again. Philippe

Oddly for an area with a ginormous exhibition centre, it's slim pickings for good food around here.I had a traditional soup. It didn't live up to the signs outside informing me of award winning cuisine so I didn't order anything else, except a tea. It was served without milk. I wasn't asked.Average lunch. £9 for a soup and tea. Overpriced really. Charged 60p for paying by card. Meh.

Good value and great service, loved the charcoal flavours, also the range of choices with reasonable prices.

We went there for some hot drinks and shisha, we were charged extra for a plastic pipe and were forced to pay table charged. There shisha is terrible, very poor service and management is very rude, overall terrible and over priced, will never visit again.

A starter of super-fresh tarragon, mint, spring onion, walnuts and cheese was promising, but we felt it lacked a dressing. Chicken wings with lemon were superb; my husband could have eaten another dozen of these besides those on his starter portion and been contentedly full. The marinated lamb we shared as a main was tender, though served just with rice and a baked tomato it was adequate but bland.I suppose I was hoping for the flavours described in Persiana, my favourite cookery book of the moment - pomegranate molasses, barberries, sumac, rose petals etc. Maybe I didn't choose wisely from the menu - wevs.The staff were efficient though impersonal, but there was a good atmosphere and we enjoyed dining alongside the family groups and young couples. A beautiful dancer added an exotic touch to our first experience of an Iranian restaurant, but overall everything was no more than ok.

Yas prides itself on catering for families, couples and solo's. This is a quiet establishment and the clients usually are respectful of others around them which means that you have a good meal without having to compromise yourself and put up from nonsense.

I have been here several times before and feel the standards had dropped. Lack of attention to detail and poor service.

Vegetali e salse molto buone , hummus provateli tutti valgono la pena , i succhi di frutta e le spremute non sono integrali , cioè composti esclusivamente dal succo del frutto come fanno nei paesi arabi , ma sono un po' annacquate . Servizio , pulizia , tempi di attesa nella norma per il prezzo pagato e la posizione . Fuori dispone di tavoli per fumare il narghilè

We went to London for several days and visited this restaurant on Iranian New Year Day(20th March). The staff were moody and grumpy which made us uncomfortable to begin with. and then my partner found hair on his plate and couldn't eat his food and was told they would take the meal off the bill but later would have been charged if he hadn't objected and the price is high for the that low quality. I would never go there again and would not recommend to anyone.

Consistant high quality food only leaves with one option, visiting Yas again and again and again. One of the best Persian cuisines in London, if you haven't tried it yet it is highly recommended.

I have visited the restaurant to have lunch when I was around the area. We ordered humous ( which comes without bread, you have to ask for it separately and it was not fresh and dry) and a lentil soup which smelled sour and contained overcooked noodles(traditional Persian soup??? )An open flat bread sandwich which was ok and a cappuccino. All that for £30 . I have sent the soup back as it smelled very unpleasant and without me saying anything , the waitress made a comment in a rude manner that I have to pay for it even I send it back( we are talking about a bowl of soup here) I said to her I did not have the intention not paying for it bit she continued , that her manager will take it out of her wages if I don't pay for it. Very rude staff, not paying enough attention to customers and should have better manners towards them. I will not go back there again as I feel like I was not appreciated as a paying customer. I am deeply regretting going in there and spending the amount of money for food which is not great and service which could be polished...

Came here last night after a day at The Olympia. Looks nice enough from the outside, menu I dont think is overly pricey for London and the website made it very promising so thought we'd give it a go. Without a doubt the food is beautiful, houmous and bread starter was gorgeous - but these are 2 separate items on the menu, you could have just the houmous and eat it with a spoon?! We ordered an Open Sandwich each for main which comes with a warning that its large... it was a piece of persian bread which filled the dinner plate with 1 small skewer of meat and some lettuce, cucumber and tomato, too much bread for the meal and not enough of anything else. There is a selection of wines on the menu but they only had the house red and white, we had the red, it was ok but not worth £20 a bottle. When we got the bill (which was £58) they had taken it upon themselves to add gratuity of over £7. I'm all for leaving a tip but although the food was tasty the rest of the experience was disappointing - the toilet is one cubicle to be shared by all with no lock on the door, there were no more than half a dozen customers when we got there but one tables order already got messed up. Our main was given to the table next to us who were still waiting for half of their starter as well as their drink (a jug of tap water). The staff seemed harassed and it only got worse the busier it got. We're gald we tried it but certainly wont be going back, the turkish take away at the back of The Olympia is a much better choice.

Had dinner with 3 others. Starters were very simple but OK. Mains were terrible and very expensive.Won't come back again.

Fantastic service and stuff are very friendly. Food is absolutely delicious. I usually hate lamb, but here I can’t stop eating it. Amazing:)
