Yardbird in Lisburn

Food absolutely disgusting would give no stars if i could, 8 of us in yesterday, food was cold and it was chicken, my sister give hers back and they brought her out a new dish and it was obviously heated up in a microwave, outside of food warm and inside of it cold, most of us just ate the chips, anyone we spoke to afterwards said we couldnt have picked a worse place to eat, well we will know for again

I had come to this place before but it was full, it did look inviting and as I was staying round the corner on another trip to Belfast, thought I would try again. Success! got a table, I sat down and was offered tap water and said that was fine as I am working and was happy with that, there was a bit of upselling, nothing to heavy. I go my food of fries, 1/2 chicken and some dips, it was ok, the chicken was a bit dry, no crispy rotisserie bits and without the dips quite tasteless. The chips (big portion) were soggy and out of a bag frozen ones. I finished my meal and as they were cranking up the music thought it was time to go, attracting someone's attention to get the bill was a challenge and having sat for 10 minutes waiting to pay the bill got up to pay it on the way out. All the above was a bit of a shame as the place was quite quirky, good juke box and a good overall feel, but things like good service and food brought it down a it... Would I go back again, don't think so.

It’s been a while since I have given a review but this place really deserves it. I was by my own a Tuesday night, place was busy so I got a nice seat by the bar. Service was swift and good. I had wings and they were excellent. I’ve had a lot of wings and these were definitely top 5. I heard others around me complementing the food so I will definitely be back. Highly recommended place at reasonable price

Couldn’t pre-book so risked a walk-in on a Sunday evening. Only waited about 20 mins for a table. Lovely friendly staff, great service, fabulous chicken, burgers and fries and great atmosphere.

Disappointing for what it cost. The staff are friendly so this is not aimed at them. The food and the prices are way off mark for the offering. Pulled beef and chips £11.00 Buffalo fried chicken £14.50 Small wings £8.50 Chips £5.50 - Shocker ! Guinness £6.20 ! Bottle coke £3.50 Our lunch for three cost £49.05, my wife had a glass of water. The meal is served in plastic baskets and the quantity of the portions was really miserly. The best dish was pulled beef with fries. My buffalo wings was a very small piece of fried chicken and the chips were not great. We won't be returning

Great food and great service. Recently ate at Yard Bird with my husband whilst on our mini-moon. Small but perfect menu, the service was great despite it being really busy!! The ladies serving were serving with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. We both had the buffalo burger which was spot on!! Dessert was a build your own brownie which was the perfect end to the meal. Decent prices, would highly recommend to friends and family when in Belfast!!

What a cracking find when we visited Belfast, the place is quirky , but in a really cool way. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is great had a really good experience. I will return the next time I'm in the great City of Belfast.

Situated above the Dirty Onion bar, Yard Bird was a great choice. Cool space, simple menu of chicken in a variety of forms and really good value. Service was quick and food excellent. All left very satisfied.

Great place! We really enjoyed our meal here. Staff all great really nice bunch and the food & drinks were delicious. If you like chicken off the spit, this is the place to go. Also offers chicken burgers with various accompaniments. Nice staff, trendy kind of place upstairs in the dirty onion. Food was really good and not badly priced.

Went here last night based on recommendations from trip advisor and it did not disappoint! Food was really good and reasonably priced. The menu is great for all, we had a mix of wings and dirty fries and they were delicious. Food was delivered quickly and portions were a great size. For dessert we tried the build your own brownie and cheesecake - both were delicious and it’s fun to choose your toppings! Service was speedy and everyone is really friendly. Prices for food and drinks were really affordable. I highly recommend and will be going back on my next trip to Belfast!

Staff were pleasant, however the food leaves a lot to be desired, especially considering the price. Wings were quite dry and the loaded fries weren’t good either. Not much chicken on them and the chips didn’t taste good at all. Went here based on the good trip advisor recommendations, but I found they were quite inaccurate. Overall a disappointing meal and couldn’t justify going here again. Wouldn’t recommend.

Hay que entrar por la terraza del pub ya que está en la primera planta de un edificio antiguo. El local es bonito, típico de costillas y pollo con una enorme barbacoa. Casual, friendly vibe. Really comfortable space and staff were top class. Delicious, finger licking chicken. Worth a visit. Very handy location when finding somewhere to meet student kids - central enough to Queens and UU. Overall worth a second and third trip!

Very nice place with atmosphere and a nice laid back dining experience. We had a number of chicken dishes which were all delicious. Staff smiley professional and the service was good.

It was our first time in Belfast, what a find The Yardbird was. We called in, in the hope they had a table free, which they did, if we didn't mind vacating it at 3.15, we had no problem with this. Absolutely amazing !! Have the booze and bird deal ….. whole chicken plus two sides, two dips and wine !! The chicken was amazing, the two dips (awesome sauce and salt and chilli garlic mayo ) were awesome, chips me slaw wonderful and we also ordered half a rack of ribs because we are greedy !! We had an amazing dinner and would really recommend!! Really good prices and good food - staff are busy …. The restaurant is busy …. So they are rushing around and if you’re someone who really needs pampering by stuff then may not be to your taste but the staff on shift today checked backed and were the right Amount of attentive for us ◡̈

We needed a quick no frills dinner before heading back to the airport. We didn't have a reservation and even though it was 5:30 on a saturday it was busy but we got a table, service was good, the wine, chicken , sweet potato fries were fab and all very reasonable. A good range of clientele of all ages which probably says it has a good reputation as its above a very lively fun bar but the noise downstairs didn't disturb . Would recommend! Not sure where to start because this place came highly recommended on TripAdvisor and from friends. Perhaps they were having an off day. My partner and I both ordered the fried chicken burger and vegan loaded fries (I don’t like rotisserie chicken so though the vegan option would be better). I also ordered no pickles in my burger because I’m a fussy so and so! The burgers arrived and my goodness! Swimming in burger sauce. So much so that the sauce spilled over the side of the tiny basket they put it in. All over the table. I’ve never seen so much sauce. I wonder if the lid fell off whilst applying it and they decided to send it out anyway?! The vast majority of my chips were also undercooked so it felt like I was eating raw potato. The loaded fries were the same and the vegan chicken pieces were so undercooked but just about edible as they’re not actually chicken. Overall I wouldn’t recommend eating here based on my my experience. I HATE complaining which is why I didn’t say anything at the time, but that’s more so down to social anxiety!! Sorry, but never again.

Unfortunately all of the group disliked their food. It was tasteless and served in a plastic basket like some kids party. The Yardbird lacks atmosphere or any sense of fun considering it is casual dining. We will never be back.!!!

Absolute gem in Belfast. We came for dinner without a booking, no problem at all, were given a buzzer which calls us when table ready. Staff great and food absolutely amazing, had a special offer Bozze'n'bird we had to come back the next day for lunch as couldn't believe how good it was and had tasted even better. Mi familia y yo disfrutamos mucho de nuestra comida aquí. Tienen un menú bastante simple, especialmente para los sin gluten, pero todos disfrutamos mucho de su comida. Mi padre y yo comimos pollo y patatas fritas sin gluten con ensalada de col, que estaba delicioso. Mi madre, que no es celíaca, también disfrutó mucho de las costillas BBQ. Las raciones son bastante grandes, por lo que no necesitamos nada de postre. En general, definitivamente lo recomendaría.

We landed in Belfast on Friday to watch the ice hockey but it was cancelled so we came to The Dirty Onion and Yardbird within 20 mins of arrival. Starved and annoyed. Well that dissipated by the time we left big bellied and cheered up. WHAT. A. PLACE. Stunning Rotisserie chicken over a flame griddle. Perfect ribs and gorgeous sides. We only had 2 nights and wanted to ensure we got the best Belfast had to offer so we came back here. The beer is great too. Once we finished we headed downstairs for some live music with our drinks. Great food. Great hosting. Fantastic setting. I might add, the Belfast Giants Hockey team we’re eating here when we arrived so you know this place is good when your capitals allstars eat here.
