I used to love this place but after visiting with their *new* menu I was disgusted with their lack of choice and size of portion. This cost £7 was a few chips, noodles and barely a spoon full of sweet and sour. What’s the point of having two stations when dishes in station one are actually station two? So you are forced to have two of rice, chips or noodles??!! I won’t be coming by back.

I agree that the recent change to choice of two carbohydrates from section 1 and only one protein e.g. chicken or beef dish from section 2 is a rip off. We will not go back.

firstly we were welcomed in a rude manner to a man wiping his snotty nose with no gloves on while handing the food, there was poor communication skills while ordering. The portions were appalling. £7 for a spoonful of microwaveable rice, dry noodles and 2 microscopic “chicken balls” as we complained all we got was a quiet mutter saying “that’s all you get” DO NOT COME HERE! save your money!

The service was disappointing. The food tastes good, but the staff needs to be changed. They act as if they're giving the food away for free when filling the boxes. Please be kind and courteous while serving; their rude behavior was really frustrating today.

Very succulent food and portions are extremely filling. Nice and helpful customer service. A good range of foods and they let you have a large diversity of it in one portion.

This used to be one of my favourite restaurant. But since they changed the system with Station 1 and Station 2, I'm not going there anymore. Rubbish!!!!! Before you could choose ANY 5 items. Now they don't let you. Basically they tell you what to eat. You HAVE TO choose 2 items from Station 1. I think they did it in purpose. Because in Station 1 are all rubbish food and they put all nice food into Station 2...very bad!!!! They can shut this place

This place is amazing. Couldn't recommend enough. 5 dishes for £10 + a drink I believe it was. Can't wait to get another today

I asked before ordering if any of the dishes contained nuts or shellfish as I have an allergy to them. I was told that no, they didn't use these. I enjoyed the food but 10 minutes after leaving the dining area, I started with allergy symptoms. Luckily I carry antihistamines, which lessened the symptoms without having to use my epi pens. The allergen list needs to be on display and staff need training. Such a shame as food is tasty.

The staff needs an attitude check. Very rude and impolite. I used to eat here regularly, but not anymore.

I have been Today and I wanted just a small portion and that women asked me to choose 2 sides and 1 meat because they changed the menu😂😂😂😂what!??if before we get half kg of onion in 3 portion now I have to eat noodle with noodle or chips ..is getting stupid now …the staff very rude …never there again

Came and had food at Meadowhall Monday evening, My Daughter who is autistic loves Chinese food , but doesn't like it mixed. So I thought like every other place we have been Ckopstix and others we can order Noodles, chicken curry , chicken balls and have them in separate containers (sometimes have to pay extra for the containers) ? Or write a review etc . But Yangtze Meadowhall said the only way that it could be done was to order full size pots of the food my Daughter wanted . £28 later was my daughters meal and I can't believe 4 chicken balls was the full size version at £7.50? I shall be avoiding in future although I always loved the food in the past .

Food still tastes great, but the potions are ridiculously small not worth the price. Adding insult to the injury the staff is extremely rude.

Chicken curry is more like onion curry( no chicken!) I saw the girl scouping all onions. When I mentioned it she was rude ignorant and I won't ever go back. Very small portions. Horrible service !!!

Overall really good food. For 4 for £7.50 box. Got vegetable noodles, egg fried rice, spring rolls and salt&p pepper chicken with curry sauce. Great portion size, vegetable noodles and egg fried rice both quite bland on its own, some veg in the noodles would’ve been good. However wouldn’t be an issue if got the curry or something to compliment it more. The food was still great, friendly staff and clean environment

Your staff are extremely rude, no manners whatsoever. They need training on customer service again, we came to Yangtze on Monday 25th around 5pm and we were greeted with such terrible customer service. She may as well have thrown my food at me the way she dropped my bag of food on the counter to give it to me. This is unacceptable and needs to be looked into. I usually come here quite often as I work in Meadowhall myself and never have I experienced such rude staff until this evening. Appalling to say the least.

Ordered the medium box with 4 items. Got chicken curry, chips, chicken balls and salt and pepper chicken. What can I say.. the chicken curry should be renamed onion curry as there was about 4 pieces of chicken in it, and probably half an onion in the portion I got. I received about 15 chips, 6 pieces of salt and pepper chicken and a measly 2 chicken balls. £7.50. Will be using the other Chinese in future at least they give decent portion sizes. What a joke.

Visited yesterday. Very rude staff. Staff won't listen what you are ordering.They will serve what they like. Bad service. Staff was not provided cutlery when served food. I won't recommend.

I’d recommend the let’s sushi across the food hall. It’s cheaper and same food.

bland and overly greasy, hardly any food in the box to the point it’s around half full. just over priced rubbish doesn’t resemble chinese food whatsoever. staff are rude and no help at all.

Usually use Let's sushi but thought I would try this place, food was very poor. Beef in bb sauce tasted like gravy and one piece of beef. Rice was awful and the salt n pepper chicken was ok. Won't be returning.

Honestly might be the blandest food I have ever eaten. Everything from the noodles to the rice to the chicken to the spring rolls... Just bland.

Always spot on... the portion size has gone smaller though but taste and freshness is still there 👍

went to Meadowhall shopping and we wanted something to eat, while the rest of the family went to McDonalds, I grabbed some noodles. Got a medium box, with noodles, beef in black bean sauce, and some salt and pepper chicken. it was wonderful, super tasty and we will be back again for some more.

One of the best of it's kind. I found it to have a good choice of food. The portions were of a good size and fairly priced. The meal was very tasty and I would use again.

Never ever again. Portion sizes are a joke. Went with my brother, who said the same. Avoid this place unless you are happy with a few pieces of chicken that are the size of popcorn. And to top it off, I got free black hair in my food. The place needs shutting down.

It was ok. Friendly staff. The curry was full of large pieces of onions and one piece of chicken only. The rice and noodles were ok. I chose the small box which was ok. The diet coke was an ok size. only complaint was I needed to have more than one tiny piece of chicken in a chicken curry.

Staff dissrespectfull, don’t speak english, don’t understand if somebody ask something, ordered a portion with 4 types of food, literally refused to add chicken. With this attitude you don’t deserve any business at all. Why would I pay for something I don’t get??Train your staff to be respectfull and helpfull and to SPEAK ENGLISH!! We are in the UK, they have to at least understand if somebody askes them something in english!!

What a shame. I’ve had superb meals here for years but today it was completely different. It was smaller than usual and very watery and tasteless, the Pepsi was flat and the pieces of beef were so small it was more like mince. I always look forward to having my lunch here, but I won’t be visiting again, higher cost for an inferior product.

We use to go alot bit after the last visit will not go again they have changed the menu and you just end up with noodles and rice with very little anything else very disappointed would not recommend at all a lot of money for nothing you need to change it back to old menu

Wow really gone downhill only eight dishes to choose from, Beef in black bean sauce is basically 50% onion soaked in a full bottle of soy sauce it's disgusting like eating liquid salt, chips ok, noodles ok chicken balls soggy don't go here unless you want seriously high blood pressure. I felt rough for rest of the evening and next day can't see this place staying open much longer.

Poor & expensive effort at a Chinese meal, Luke warm & not good value for money, even the coke is watered down & lacks the standards. Don't get the rice, chips or noodles otherwise you're paying good money for cheap bulk food !!

It is are favourite restaurant before they go down a hill. Portion size is a joke you pay the money to buy a tasteless food,just you get onion with a lot of curry.(you need lots of water after there meal. Not enjoyable to eat there food very very disappointed we are. We got to sushi place now they are valued a costumer also the food portion is amazing.

Saturday 15 th Nov 2022 Ordered small box of Chicken curry & Rice got 2 scoops of rice & the tiniest portion of chic curry l was told to choose something else so l asked if l could have more chicken curry l was refused so had a few chips There was big pieces of onion & 1 piece of chicken Will never go again

The worst food ever. Tasteless. The egg fried rice was raw, the chicken tasted like plastic, the salt n pepper chicken was just salt and tasted of nothing. The customer service was awful. The staff are very impatient and borderline rude apart from one guy who was actually really polite and a bit more nicer than the girls. I will definitely never ever eat from there ever again. I might have even got food poisoning from the food. Hygiene standards are also very poor.

Disgusting service and rude staff Portion of food every day is smaller to save their money on food of course. Have me own food place and i know how it works, all they care is money and thats it. Been a customer since 2015 and every week since the portion is smaller. Haha paid 8.73£ for a handfull of noodle and 3 piece of chicken a massive joke. Train your staff how to speak with customers and respect us for how much we pay for a meal. Literally disgusted with today’s experience

My meal was almost all rice with 2 tiny pieces of beef. It had clearly been sat there for hours. Worst of all, I was on the toilet the rest of the night. Avoid at all cost.

This one in Meadowhall is excellent. Great value for money (small box includes 3 extra's) and excellent staff, and they take cash😁 "Chopstix" are not a patch on these and are a rip off, with poorly trained staff and only take card. Yangtze a no brainer 💯

Appalling service. Completely ignored despite stood there waiting in a queue (of 1!) & 3 people behind the counter. Was told I can't choose the same 2 things (when having the 3 choice option) difficult when you're a vegetarian and there's only cauliflower bites and vegetarian spring rolls (didn't want noodles or rice but finger snacks to pick at). Looking at the rest of the comments I'm now glad I left and didn't buy any food there... Horrible service, poor customer skills and it doesn't look like the food is any good anyway.

First time ordered and was somewhat satisfied. the black pepper chicken was nicer than most places iv been. Egg rice could have done with seasoning and the chips were a mix pick, you could see the old ones and the new ones and taste the difference.

Well what an experience that was absolutely disgusting! Fried rice was like Uncle Ben's mircowave rice,the noodle taste like burnt fat the sweet and sour chicken what chicken!! People don't waste your money .

Gone down hill massively. Rice and noodles are sticky, bland and tasteless. Portion sizes are smaller than used to be, don't even fill the boxes there served in anymore. Meat dishes are loaded with onions to bulk them up with barely any meat. Pop is served in half full cups, didn't even get a straw and to top it all off, they have upped their prices and reduced choice Will never go back here again. Give this place a miss and use the other Chinese place yo sushi just further up.

I ordered the three option small box. Beef black bean, noodles and sweet and sour chicken balls. Presentation was good, but disappointed when i sat down. The chicken balls where horrible. Tasted like they were made days ago…very soggy. Then the beef in black bean, a very strong over powering chemical taste. I had a couple of mouth fulls and binned the lot. Word of advice Yangtze, don't get lazy. There is a reason you are surrounded by big names in the Oasis… people like consistency. This may have been a ‘one off’ but it has definitely ‘put me off’.

Just finished our 3 dish boxes. Have to say, the salt & pepper chicken was great as well as the sweet & sour chicken and egg fried rice. Straight up to the counter, ordered and was digging in to it in no time. I would recommend.

Absolutely disgusting now. Dont know what theyve done to it as it used to be so nice. We got upset stomachs last time we had it. Definitely wont be having it again.

When i go to Meadowhall i love going to yangtre as i love the food and so does my daughter and granddaughter love it

Bland and disappointing! Rice was just plain boiled rice with some egg thrown on top and noodles had no flavour what so ever. Sweet and sour chicken was just about edible and added the tiniest amount of flavour to already bland meal. Waste of money and won't be returning, don't know how they had a queue of people wanting this!

Thought I'd give it one last try as it used to be so nice, it was awful again, no taste so bland hard rice, mainly onions, waist of time half hour que and waist of money, I've been ill for 5 days, never again

This is not a place I will be rushing back to eat from, the mains are all very oily with more onions than anything else, all the sauces are really watered down, the staff are not that helpful and are very lackadaisical, To be honest a complete waste of money, go to one of the many other food vendors

Extremely slow service, food nothing special

Good service. However rice was still chewy, sweet and sour chicken sauce was sour and tasteless for a sweet and sour sauce. Don't have the apple dumplings. Not amazing and the caramel sauce is bland but salty.

I went today Saturday 19 June the noodles were rubbish and tasteless. Not like the other noodles. Then the sweet and sour sauce was so watery I was shocked. He didn’t even fill my box. I paid £5.50 Rip off. I used to love going not any more I’m done! They need different staff and a competent chef whose taste buds work!!!!! Total let down!!

Food so tasteless I took a COVID test just to be sure. Shame this place changed, used to be fairly solid. Won’t be going back.

I went there yesterday (28/05) with my friend to grab some lunch around 1pm. And there was like 6 people in front of us in the queue, and waiting like 30 min just to be served. The service is very poor, in lunch time 2 people working in slow motion and no matter they saw how many people are waiting they are starting to chat instead of serve everyone. Seriously. Even the security guy told to us, he can not even watch them how they work. Is disgusting... Also the food was very tastless, the rice has never seen a salt. I would recommend to change the manager or all the staff or just the behaviour how to work.

This used to be my favourite chinese and I grabbed some food here every time I went to meadowhall. They must have changed the chef or something because the food I got today is a joke. Absolutely tasteless. Its that disgusting I won't be finishing it. I'm so disappointed because I loved this place and I always order the same stuff. I will not be coming back.

Terrible since new year prices up portions down might as well go three shops down to sushi place same price bigger portions better staff , and after finding a hair in my curry will never go again after they refused me my money back

Noodles so chewing and rice very hard disappointed

Very processed, I was even left disappointed by the quality and quantity of food for the price. The drinks were also watered down and the chips were cold which added to the disappointment. If you are charging around £10 for one meal, I'd expect it to be excellent quality. Never again will I go here.

Have been here twice recently. The first time it was poor quality with little taste but gave benefit of the doubt. Went again today and found it to be poor again. Won't be returning

Used to love this place but since it has changed it gone down hill very little choice of food and what i did get for £5 tasted bland the rice was like plastic and the chips where like card board wont be going back and will no longer be recommending witch is a real shame cause i used to really rate this place

Visted about 3 months ago and saw this little takeaway in the food court and thought we would try it out seem as thought the other restaurants get quite busy at dinner time. I'm glad we did, the portions are huge and the flavour was even bigger! There are alot of options you can choose from and I'm surprised there wasn't a bigger queue! We found a similar restaurant in our hometown that is slightly better quality with less options, but this one is still lovely! Only reason it gets 4 stars was because my chicken was abit cold, but that wouldn't stop me from going back in the slightest!
