My go-to place for a warm bowl of ramen after watching LeMiz. Situated in the West End, the place is strategic. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is tasty. Price is reasonable, too.

I was looking for a cheap easy lunch in Chinatown and found this Japanese place just round the corner. Quite a small menu with ramen or katsu curry. I had the chicken katsu and it wa so tasty and filling. Can't go wrong for £7, freshly cooked and served quickly.

Just in the corner is this Japanese ramen shop. Easy simple menu. That’s good not so much choice. I have the tobanjan ramen. Just spicy enough for me. Great broth! Fast service. A modern fast food restaurant.

This place is amazing and i will return ! Order at the counter from a simple clear menu - the tofu ramen was just under £9 and the chicken katsu £6.50. You get a buzzer which goes off when your food is ready and collect at the counter. The food was piping hot and very tasty. The katsu was nice and spicy, the chicken crispy. The ramen broth was very hot, tasty, 3 tofu slices, noodles, sweetcorn and spring onions. Not much in terms of fresh green veg but I throughly enjoyed this and such value for money to get a hot meal, seat in a restaurant and generous portion of food coming in at £15.40 for 2 meals in the middle of London. Plus friendly service.

Mediocre would be an undeserved compliment, thinking back at the 'ramen' I had there. This was proper bad. Noodles felt like undercooked pasta and the broth( a hugely important element of ramen) was bland and lacked any depth of flavour... the one redeaming element was the egg...that was ok and not completely over cooked. I really am at a loss here ,having had ramen in a few places now, in and out of Japan, this stands out as not only not feeling like ramen, but also not being a particularly tasty noodle and broth dish. One could forgive the lack of authenticity if the latter was at least... Never mind; this was a noce and once only event.

After living 7 years in Japan, including 3 in Fukuoka, when I saw this place saying that it was a restaurant chain featuring Fukuoka-style ramen, of course I had to try. I was ok with the prices; the karaage (fried chicken chunks) was very good. I had the Yamagoya ramen and it was excellent. Service was fast, friendly, and polite. I'd come back anytime. Location is nice, quite near lots of shopping too!

The restaurant is conveniently located on the outskirts of Chinatown so is easily accessible from both Leicester Square and Piccadilly Stations. Interior is simplistic but modern. Instead of having waiters to bring the food to your table, they use an electronic buzzer that vibrates when your food is ready and you go pick it up from the counter. I guess some people will find this strange but this way of doing things means you are not obligated to tip the staff. Places like Shoyu or Ippudo will charge 10-12% service charge but how much service do you actually need for a ramen shop? I feel this is this close to the way that they do things in Japan. NO restaurants charge service charge at all there, so the price you see if the price you pay. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and must say after trying a few of the competition I find that the saltiness of the soup is just right. I find most of the other ramen places are too salty for the average London palate. The soup was authentic, nice and thick from the pork bone marrow, and the noodles were nice and springy. Overall I would say this is as good as the big name competitors without all of the fuss. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186338-d11045318-r653347243-Yamagoya-London_England.html#

On the plus side the prices aren’t steep, less than a tenner for ramen in central london with a decent amount of toppings is good value. However you dont get a lot of ramen and the broth isn’t quite as rich as other ramen joints. Service is quick and no complaints regarding the staff. The place is just run of the mill, if your looking for some cheap quick bite to eat then by all means.

I’m not a big fan of Bone Daddies or Shoryi Ramen, but I will admit they are innovative and are tailored to the adventurous London diner, and they are very popular. However I expected Yamagoya to blow both of these out of the water, firstly being a Japanese brand and venturing to UK shores, and secondly having a prime location on Shaftesbury Avenue. Sadly, I was left disappointed by taste, ambience and value - a chance wasted! Decor was neat, tidy but sterile, although the music did improve the ambience - loud (but not too loud) jpop playing in the background. There was definitely a lack of seating and the layout wasted a lot of space, something the manager should be able to fix in a weekend. The food was a mixture of ok foods - worth mentioning the pork ramen (a nicely flavoured soup with very few toppings) and the sliced pork on rice - and the disastrous, including badly cooked gyozas and karaage, plus the blandest attempt at a beef ramen. All of these come at central London prices, which when combined with the poor cooking and measly portions, means I won’t be coming again for a long time - unless they have a special offer going!! I’d like to try the new Coco Curry House - I want to believe a Japanese chain can succeed over here!

I went there with a group of friends and we paid £30 I think for karaoke and a 2 meal course. The food tasted fine but they changed the menu so less options and most of the people who got the burger it was not well cooked. However, they apologized and cooked again to their liking which is great! The karaoke was fun, I cannot complain in terms of the music selection because most Karaoke places will have the same selection.

I had walked in and was greeted with one of most rudest staff members I have ever encountered at a K10! Upon my arrival I had to gesture the woman behind the counter twice to which she looked straight at my face with a disgusting look on her face which made me feel awkward and like I wanted to leave. Now I'm not in customer service, but I'm pretty sure, if you walk in and say "hello" to a staff member you'd expect a polite "hi or hello", what was her response, "what do you want". Ignoring the abrupt behaviour, as soon as I opened my mouth to say my order, she interrupted and said we haven't got that! And then continued to point out everything that they didn't have in such a rude way that I turned on my heels and left the restaurant. I didn't catch the young ladies name, but she was there around 3:45 at the counter with a young man on the 17th February. Dark hair, didn't have a uniform (maybe management). After this experience at K10, it'll definitely be the last!
