My partner from the States and I decided to come here on a whim after wanting sushi and our previous place of choice being closed. We were hungry and about at our wits end but the folks at Yakinori looked after us. The food was delicious, even for my partner who is on the pickier side. It even came out much sooner thanks to the staff. Our server, Moin, was accommodating and easy to understand. Overall very pleased with the service and would visit again.

Got food with my brother a few weeks, it was actually nice, atmosphere is okay, pretty standard. The service on the other hand was just rude, the waiter staff clearly do not know how to deal with customers. We both wanted to get student discount. They checked my ID, and said it needs to have a date on it. They then made me open an email to prove I'm a student, and then on top of that, made me find a letter proving I'm a current student? What the hell is that all about? All the stores and companies I go to, not a single one made me go through all that just for a student discount. Good food but won't be coming back here again with that attitude. Note: It was a female Indian staff member.

Used to be my favourite when their store was is Grand Central/New Street Station. After they moved here, taste is no longer the same like before. Still decent tasting if you don’t compare to the old store.

Really good meal, very attentive staff who were all really nice, we were served by Shivani who was great! Great vegan options, clearly marked. Music downstairs was a bit intense, very 2011 club bangers, but it was turned down a bit when asked!

Moin and the team looked after us v well . He was friendly and attentive, he made sure we had everything we needed . We had a discount QR code we had received a day ago and the system would not let us use it but the manageress made sure we had the discount herself . Your IT team need to make sure that these offers work on their system to avoid the lovely staff getting grief from customers in Christmas Eve . Well done to all the staff there for making it a great experience for us

Played it safe with fried chicken, a fluffy bao bun, and wok-fried noodles – all bursting with flavor. Wanted to try the dumplings, but they’re non-halal (along with one other item, I think it’s miso soup). The rest of the menu is halal-friendly. Ash and her team were fantastic—quick service with genuine smiles that made the experience even better. Fresh juice and fudge cake were okay, but I’ll definitely try their specials next time. Thank you for serving food that’s truly worth every penny!”

Ordered the Tempura Crispy Chicken Roll and the Spicy Salmon Roll and it was so delicious! 4 stars only because I’m very meticulous with how my chicken is cooked. Otherwise, the atmosphere was lovely and the service was amazing, especially by our lovely waitress Sangmu ♡

The food is presented beautifully , there's enough to fill you up and it tastes exemplary, this is our first time at Yakinori and it will not be the last. srijan and Ife looked after us whilst we were there and there service is next to the best service we have ever received in a restaurant. The knowledge and advice given two us from the pair whilst we were ordering was on the money and they made the whole experience better. If I had my own restaurant I'd want them to work for me , credit to the company. We had 2 spicy sirloin steak ramens 1 dirty fries 1 set of salmon nigiri Which was all freshly prepared for us We can't recommend Yakinori at new street Birmingham enough Thanks again To Ife & Srijan And credit to the amazing chefs 6/5 or 11/10 - 5 stars of 5 is simply not enough !

Food can be a little pricey from the 15-20 pound range but very high quality and service was top tier. Best service ive had from a restaurant in years. Always offering to help our table whether it was our wassabi game or taking pictures. Overall good spot to dine at if you like japanese food

The directions were very unclear, and the location is in the middle of nowhere. It’s not close to the Kitty Cafe anymore, so why is it listed in New Street?! it’s not even there! Very poor and misleading experience. 1 star.

Srijan is a very nice host, welcomed me and my friends, went through menu options and recommended me what to get. I got the wok fried noodles and they were good.

So glad Yakinori have reopened the veg bentonite box remains fab. 4 stars as I wasn't keen on the aubergine this time and wish there had been more pumpkin. Staff are fab as always. Old review: Everything but two items are halal. Great staff and service. Good atmosphere and yummy food. Cannot wait for this branch to reopen. Payment by cash or card.

I ordered a kaarage chicken donburi which arrived relatively promptly, despite it being busy. Drinks arrived after my food came but this did not sour the overall experience. Atmosphere is reminiscent of a typical Japanese restaurant. Overall, a very good experience.

We love going to Yakinori. It's a particular favourite of our two teenage boys and we have been waiting in anticipation for the reopening of the New Street branch. Everything smelled new and the greeting we received was warm and friendly as ever. It was especially nice to meet with the owner Ali (whom we hadn'tseen in a while), who is very hospitable and charismatic. The food was delicious as ever and freshly prepared. Our waiter Moin, was friendly and attentive. Our boys were not impressed we visited without them so we have promised to visit again soon!

We ordered from the ramen and the omakase section. The steak was cooked nicely and the ramen soup was very hearty. The staff were friendly and helpful. Especially ASH was very sweet, explained the whole menu to us and even helped us take a picture.

So 2 days back, i was in Birmingham for a business meeting with my clients . I randomly chose this restaurant for Japanese food since my clients were from Japan. I was nervous about the food, but it turned out they just really loved the food and services. Special thanks to Yakinori and the team for their services 😇✌️

[Date of visit: Nov 22nd] This place opened back up in Birmingham and I was really excited to hear that so I headed down with a friend and a partner, whilst my friend didn't feel sure about ordering food my partner and I dove in. He had the Yasai Tofu kokonatsu which packed bold flavours and a strong punch. I had a bento box as I was excited to have one again after the years and it did not disappoint. The cauliflower was crunchy and spicy which made for a delicious pairing. The eggplant was soft to bite and the pumpkin croquette was sweet and both paired amazingly with the slightly sweet but savoury sauce on top. The sushi was fresh and vibrant and the inari pockets were delicate and sweet filled with soft pillowy rice. I wasn't sure what the seasoning on the rice at the bottom component of the box was but it was super tasty and added a more savoury flavour to the rice and the edamame had the correct texture and feel to it, a staple component of a bento box that you can't go wrong with. A good variety of food that leaves you full especially for what you pay for it.

was very excited to get yakinori as they opened up on new street. however the service and manners from the manger i think his name is Ali was horrible, i had first heard the girls sat beside me complain of the rudeness they had received from him, then i also received the same treatment, even the way he was treating and speaking to his employees was horrible. i was in such disgust as this is the worst customer service i’ve received, bare in mind i work in hospitality myself, i packed my food as takeaway and didn’t eat in the restaurant and wished the employees good luck, because they do not deserve to be spoke to as if they are not human and neither do the customers who dine in this place.
