The food was very tasty. I loved the seafood noodles. The portions were good size too. However the food was very oily and the next day I had a bad tummy.

Food is great as ever. I went there 3 stays straight for lunch and the food was amazing. They have done up the interior so neatly it looks brand new. They have also reduced the oil in their food.

El viernes pasado recibí un mensaje de texto pidiéndome que pidiera comida para llevar y estaba feliz de complacer hoy. Pedimos una comida. Esperamos, esperamos, esperamos. . . 4 llamadas telefónicas más tarde, después de que lo perdí y les recordé el descuento, etc., finalmente se entregó 90 minutos después del pedido inicial. La comida era bastante desagradable. Nada parecido a lo que solíamos conseguir cuando comíamos en el restaurante. Horriblemente aceitoso. "Cordero" extremadamente duro y masticable. Nada en absoluto para recomendarlo como representante de la comida de Sri Lanka. ¿Quizás un mal día? Tal vez no. Ciertamente, no pediremos una entrega desde aquí en el futuro. Qué triste, solíamos amar la comida.

A veces, cuando estás en un lugar nuevo, tienes la suerte de encontrar una joya escondida de un restaurante. Este es un verdadero hallazgo. Mucho el aspecto de un café, pero algunas de las mejores comidas que he tenido en años. El pollo diabólico es excelente, pero para mí y mi compañero de trabajo lo más destacado fue el arroz con verduras. Fue increíble, mejor que cualquier plato principal. Que hallazgo. Solo pensar en eso me hace querer más. Este lugar es una buena opción si, como yo, estás tratando de ser más vegetariano o flexitarista. Espero revivir el restaurante pronto.

He estado un poco arreglado, pintura fresca en las paredes! No esperes una cena elegante, el Yaal no es ese tipo de lugar. Piense en un café sencillo con comida deliciosa y auténtica de Sri Lanka (tamil). Ahora también tiene una licencia de alcohol. Prueba los rollitos de cordero con un sabores picantes decentes, es uno de los favoritos. Kottu Roti estaba delicioso, al igual que la variedad de curry. Me encanta el curry de huevo, que es una especialidad de SL, creo. ¿Busca un entorno sencillo, comida fabulosa y probablemente menos de 15 por persona? Las sobras también hacen un gran desayuno.

If you want to try something different than the usual British Indian Restaurant curry go here! It is more like a cafe than a restaurant but the price reflects it whilst the food doesn't. I recommend the Devilled Mixed Seafood and Gobi Manchurian. The beer is authentic Sri Lankan too and you can share a table with friends for hours. The staff are great.Highly recommended and I only wish there were more alternatives like this to standard curry houses.

We had rasam and fried fish with pilau rice and it tasted good. Their food is very oily however. So not a place where you can visit often.

had a devil mutton and their mutton roll . i am impressed will be back. was there for a short visit this is the only memory of good food i m bring back from london

The mutton Rolls our to die for they our so tasty have them with pol samble as a starter I personally could eat them as a starter and a mains, the Devil mutton also a must, the restaurant is down to earth not poshed up lovely no mock flock wallpaper simple white walls with TV on them. Majority of customers our Sri Lankan that tells you lots well it does me. They also do home delivery's which I have also had plenty of, have been going here for some years and never had a bad meal taken family and friends we all enjoy the food.

I have been regularly eating at Yaal for months and the staff know me. Today however I found a safety pin in my actual food inside the pastry. As I bit on it, I felt a really hard sharp feeling in my mouth only to look and see a safety pin sticking out of where I had bitten down. I have pictures and video evidence of me pulling it out of the pastry and I called the shop. The unbelievably rude manager told me I was lying because there is no way this could happen. As an individual who has gone regularly for months to order this same snack, there is no reason for me to lie over a £2 snack I regularly enjoy. I will be taking this further with the local authorities.

Ordered a take away to be picked up, but the Trip Advisor app took us to the other end of Barking road and we were 30 minutes later than expected. Unfortunately there were some language difficulties, so getting proper directions was not easy and I was passed around staff who's English fared better. When I pointed out the mistake on arrival, the staff did not understand my concern or that it is their responsibility to do something about it. The food was poor to average and very hot/spicy. We had the mutton biriani, chickpea, dal, okra and chicken curry. The breads literally fell apart! I won't be returning.

Birthday meal 2 days ago. The Yaal was almost full, apart from us, all sir Lankan customers. That means something. The capacity crowd meant things were a bit disorganised but the food was, as always, delicious. Now has an alcohol licence I think or maybe people are going so often they keep their whisky behind the bar! Whichever...if you like Sri Lankan food with a Tamil bias you will love this simple, small restaurant.

Me and my friends have been to Yaal 3 times now and have enjoyed each visit more and more. The food is amazing, the price is affordable and the customer service is great! There can be good food, and there can be tasty food which satisfies you, and the food from Yaal ticks every boxes. I would definitely visit the place again and more of all you can take your own alcohol. I would highly recommend you all to try their devil platters, the seafood and the mixed platters were our favorites.

This place is really good. Cheap and tasty food. The place is packed with people so it takes time to deliver. The best is their Rasam, Puttu, Squid Curry. Even Coconut sambol is yummy

The staff were extremely polite, welcoming and helpful from the moment we stepped in. With lovely and tasty verity of food, with affordable price... Will definitely recommend for my friend and family !!!

Over 30 mins late from the time the food was meant to be delivered. Chicken soup was too spicy. If it was made with less chilli it would be lovely. Rest of the food ordered was good but not up to usual standards.

After arriving my food, I was about to have my lunch, 1 item was missing, again I called them for my missing item, they picked up my phone and the guy kept me 5 mins on hold. Instead of saying sorry , food is on ur way. I strongly recommend you guys , please do not order from them, if u don't want face same problems like me. I will never order from them again.

Meal was good . Biryani and starters were really good. Delivered on time and the hotel gave the full flexibity To get food on a future day and that is highly appreciated

Ordered Chicken Biryani, Mutton Kothu Roti and Mutton Rolls. The mutton rolls are overpriced however the biryani is one of the best I've had in a while. Will definitely recommend to others.

Food delivered over half an hour later than expected delivery time, approximately 1h30m for delivery. Food fairly average, quite oily, mutton rolls overcooked and very little mutton in the kothu roti.

I have ordered 5-6 from Yaal - but they are at the least 45 minutes late on every order. Need to remind them with repeated phone calls. Food quality is very good though.

Its the 4th time ive ordered and i am impressed each time, i would recommend to anyone who desires a true indian taste in food, my work colleagues love it, made family eat they love it and im just spreading the word n so far all are impressed keep up the quality Yaal 👍🏽

I requested a non spicy byriani, they send it spicy. They think that mild spicy is non spicy. Non spicy means non spicy. I am not ordering again.

First time ordering form this restaurant. Requested delivery time: 7:30pm. Actual delivery time: I had to call the restaurant at 7:35pm to enquire on my order, when they should be the ones calling me to inform that the delivery may/will be late. When I called, the order had not even been processed to the kitchen. No way of compensation was offered; I was simply apologised to. My meal arrived at 8:00pm. The delivery driver said he was late due to traffic... He stated that I should provide his name when I order again, in order to gain compensation for the delay. Will I order from here again? I'm a reasonable person and can understand that deliveries can run over time. All I ask for is a phone call out of courtesy to inform me of any delays. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot they'd appreciate a call. The food itself is above average, but I find that terrible service in the food industry often has an effect on my general thoughts on the vendor. Let's hope they learn from this lacklustre service.

Awful curry, very oily, cheap cuts of meat and vegetable curry inedible. I rarely leave reviews but this was appalling.

Few items are awesome and few are terrible(spicy and oily). Can buy idiaapam in bulk. Would recommend non-veg(sea food)

Vegetarian kothu had so much tomato sauce for some reason ... Noodles had so much random stuff in them and didn't taste very nice curry had a 5 cm layer of oil byriani tastes like it had been there since yesterday. I've ordered from them before and food was amazing so I don't know why they've flopped. Chicken kothu tasted like it was made a few days ago not fresh.

The gobi 65 didn't have enough batter and was burnt.. 2nd time it was burnt. The raita was really bad .... I used to like this place but its going downhill on quality... Dissapointed

The Yaal special devil portion has been reduced a lot (though the price is still high) they use to have at least two crabs cut in half - today there was only half a crab, and very small portions of meat, chicken and only two tiny prawn. We use this takeaway quite often but very disappointed today with portion size.

Food arrived on time and I was happy with everything I ordered. Food was packed to a very high standard which I was extremely pleased with, as I do place orders with other takeaway restaurants and usually foods with sauce/gravy leaks through. I would recommend this restaurant and most definitely order again

I have ordered from there a few weeks back and was fairly impressed with the taste. However this time was a completely different story. The food took over 1 hour and 40 mins to arrive. When i called the restaurant to enquire after 1hour 10 mins, the person on the other line was extremely rude. Didn't even wait to hear what i had to say, just said the food is on its way and hung up. The delivery man was pleasant and assured me the food would still be hot but alas it was stone cold! The chicken briani was atrocious, cold,dried out hard pieces of what i thought was lamb bones but turn out to be burnt chicken. Although pigeon would describe it better. The samousas were again completely cold almost to the point that it felt that they have just came out of the fridge. My previous order was a fairly big order (>£50) whilst this one was less than £15. So not sure if its their way of showing their disdain at having to deliver such a small order by being rude, burnt leftovers and making sure the food has travelled all over east london prior to getting to the customer but one thing for sure i will not be ordering from their and would retract all the recommendations i have made to friends and families about the restaurant. This is a real shame as the first order was so good but I do not want rude rubbish service whether i am spendind £10 or £100!

The delivery was very slow, with it taking two hours. This is not the first time it has happened either. Even when I called up, I was told that they had left, it then took another hour to come. I would not order from here again, the service is terrible.

Love Yaal food which is always excellent. Unfortunately delivery time has now got really bad. Used to be delivered within 30-40 minutes but have had to wait over an hour for my previous 3 purchases.
