It's not normal for vegans to find food in Wales, but this restaurant not only had some choices, but served a very tasty Lasagne and Chick peas curry. Definitely recommended even for a quick drink or a game of pool and not to foget their hospitality. Our kids absolutely loved the portions of pizza and their table games. It was hard to get them leave the pub.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food and free WiFi and small games were available with extremely friendly staff.

Short visit in Machynlleth and saw excellent reviews for Sunday lunch at the Red Lion. Definitely lived up to expectations - The owner was very friendly/welcoming and the food was lovely we had x2 Beef Roasts very reasonably priced. Would visit again 10/10

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday dinner, the staff couldn’t have been more attentive and welcoming! Lovely atmosphere, dog & family friendly and there are board games and cards that you can play at your table. Would highly recommend!

Lovely meal, outstanding service

The food was incredibly tasty and a great portion size. The ribs were super tender and delicious. The beer selection was good and the service was fantastic. I’d recommend this pub either for a quiet pint or a good meal.

I went there with my boyfriend for a date, and it was lovely! ^^ We got the butter chicken and some butter naan, the portions were very good and the flavour was great, the food came out piping hot, which was very welcome in the winter weather, and the server was friendly! Overall a great experience, and would recommend, we'll defenitely be back ^^

Me and my partner came here for christmas with our dogs, we arrived on the 24th december and went here for late lunch, the owner was so inviting and friendly. the dogs were welcome and given water :). we had butter chicken curry which was delicious and lasagne which was equally just as tasty. we played a few games of pool and also connect 4. The locals are also very friendly and kind. we had the best time at this pub that we went on christmas day also for some crackers and cheese and the best carrot and curry soup. Again the owner was the loveliest person. Highly recommend this pub.

The red lion is the nicest cleanest pub in Machynlleth, the food is always top notch. The boss man Raj is literally one of the nicest people to serve you and always friendly.

Lovely quaint pub in the Main Street. The main waiter was very friendly and courteous. Food came out promptly, we ordered the Sunday roast and was delicious. Would definitely recommend coming here if you are coming through Machynlleth.

Even though it's a freezing Tuesday evening in December, and not many people here, the place feels cosy and welcoming with loads of Xmas decs and fun music. Staff are very friendly (even brought over to us a Connect Four game which we've been enjoying for an hour!) and the food is honestly really good pub food. We had the vegan lasagne and vegan pie, plus roast baby potatoes and onion rings and enjoyed all. And we've not had a Guinness that tastes this good since Ireland!

Great little pub in Mac with a dedicated vegan section on the menu

Me, my partner and our little girl came in tonight while staying in Mac. My partner had the burger and I had the buttered chicken curry it was the nicest curry iv ever had lots of lovely flavours and tasted amazing, my partner really enjoyed his burger too and our little girl had a children's meal. The service was amazing the man who served us was very friendly and welcoming and made a big fuss of Amelia which was very nice . Can't wait to come back . Thank you very much 😊.

I really like the food, the butter chicken is perfect and chicken nuggets are good for the small ones. The service if very nice and friendly , you can tell it's a local pub. The atmosphere is calming and wonderful for family and kid. I am very excited for next time I would like to get the Frito misto it looks very good. The double veggie burger is absolutely amazing all the different tastes make it to perfection.

Amazing pub . Very friendly .. lovely place to take the children. Myself partner and son walked in and within 2 mins the manager brought a game for me and my son to play . My son is 12 . The food was amazing .. I also have mental health issues and I felt absolutely at home there..
