Owners were lovely and amazing food and great atmosphere!

Bar man was brilliant, food was fantastic, good selection of alcoholic drinks

We had a lovely family meal here, lasagne, butter chicken and Rogan Josh were all enjoyed. Highly recommend if you are in the area :)

Friendly staff. Food was 10/10. We had the chickpea and sweet potato curry and the veg katsu curry. Both were very tasty, fresh and fragrant. We had the tiramisu and the chocolate pudding and both were delicious. Will be coming back here for sure :) :)

After seeing the online reviews, my partner and I chose here to have an evening meal and we are both so glad we did! The food was phenomenal, I highly recommend the warm chocolate pudding with ice-cream!!!! The service was outstanding.. and a perk was they have connect 5 and other games to play whilst waiting.. although we weren't waiting long at all for either courses! Friendly atmosphere, very welcoming. We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much!!! 👏🏻

Popped in for a cocktail while on holiday, the barman was very friendly and even brought out a water bowl for my pug. Had 2 lovely cocktails in the beer garden, was very beautiful in the sun. If I'm ever up here again, I'm definitely popping in. Thank you so much!

Really great food, home cooked style, and very friendly service!

We didn't stay for food although we had booked a table. A pleasant lunchtime was nearly spoilt by the speakers in the beer garden. Very loud. PF's Great Gig in the Sky is ok in the right environment, but Kiss was the straw that broke the camel's back. Knights in Satan's Service they might not be, but four painted rock clowns they definitely are.

Brilliant service and atmosphere. The only thing surpassing this was the food. The Lamb shank was beautiful and seasoned with an interesting gravy (chef's secret). The Lamb ragu josh was spicy and warm, but the best part of this dish has to be the naan bread. Probably the best I've had. There's indoor seating, an area for games and a pool table. The place has a beer garden and plenty of seating. We'd definitely come again.

We have been to the Red Lion a few times and never been disappointed. The landlord is lovely and very friendly without being overly intrusive. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming and the food is a mix of traditional pub and asian cuisine and always delicious. Would recommend

Fantastic beer garden located to the rear of this little gem. Owner was lovely, came and brought a connect 4 game out for me and my daughter to play while we waited for food. Food was lovely, typical pub grub and good portion size. Would recommend.

Second visit to the Llew Coch in one week, excellent service and freshly made hot food. Came for breakfast today which was freshly cooked and piping hot. Good coffee as well.

Met with a very warm welcome when entering the Red Lion. Good choice on the menu. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, pie of the day, lamb shank and burger. Would definitely visit again when in the area!!

Looking for a place to have a family meal on a Monday evening meant limited options. The Red Lion, whilst not looking particularly appealing, had good reviews and had options for one of our party who couldn't eat dairy. Upon arrival, whilst it looks like a pub from the outside, it doesn't look like a traditional pub from the inside, I'm not sure what it looked like to be honest! I didn't have particularly high expectations after seeing the pub but you should never judge a book by it's cover. The owner Raj, is from India, as is the head chef, so a curry seemed like a sensible option. Welsh Lamb Rogan josh and it was absolutely superb. Something more akin to a very good Indian restaurant rather than a pub. Some other reviews from our party, Toby (aged 5) - the food was amazing Archie (aged 12) - my Butter Chicken was absolutely amazing. Far better than my expectations. I mopped it all up with the delicious naan bread. Raj was a very welcoming host and we wish him all the luck as he continues to make The Red Lion a success.

The food was excellent. We had a wide age group, from Grandma and Grandad to a 1 year old. 9 empty plates. Lamb curry was exceptional. Great service, the host was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, if you are in the area 👌👏👏👏👏

We had an amazing Sunday lunch at The Red Lion. The roast was perfect, the lasagna was rich and cheesy, and the pollo al fungi was full of flavor. Our waiter Raj was friendly and attentive, making us feel completely welcome. The cozy atmosphere was enhanced by some lovely, well-behaved dogs, adding to the relaxed vibe. A truly enjoyable experience—we’ll definitely be back!

Good atmosphere, tasty food, refreshing drinks. Our server/bartender/host was doing it all with a fabulous air of friendliness. We were just staying in town for a few days, but stopped in multiple times for dinner and drinks, since we liked it so much.

Delightful small pub with immaculate vibes. I ate here every night of my stay in town (or stopped by for a pint on the way back to where I was staying) and enjoyed it every time. Indian food: delicious. Classic pub fare: also delicious. Enjoy a game of Connect Four and pleasant conversation. Excellent service.

We arrived in Machynlleth mid afternoon on a Saturday. The original place we were hoping to eat in was closed Luckily we found the Redlion & boy are we glad we did. I had the pie which was excellent(locally made). My wife ate from thevegan menu which my wife she had katsu curry. Which looked brilliant. Its Reasonably priced with brilliant service. If you want a cosy welcoming pub that is a little different & youre in Machynlleth,then the Redlion s well worth a try,it's brilliant.

Amazing staff that were caring and attentive to our needs, with a very small wait time for bistro quality meals. Will definitely come again :)
