Live music in the afternoon, good mixed crowd in afternoon.

This place was absolutely brilliant. Couldn't get seated upstairs so went downstairs and so glad we did as they had a live singer on who was absolutely fantastic. Drinks were great as well. Really cool place, will definitely be back.

Bouncers are horrible. I arrived at 8pm with 3 of my friends, and we were denied entry. We didn’t have a single ounce of alcohol and they claimed we were ‘drunk’. Would not recommend this.

Shite. Had followed my brother and friends to bar and wasn't allowed in due to apparent appearances.

Don't try and go here unless you are a group of girls only they will deny you for no reason. Queued for half an hour and got denied for no reason actually disgusting, I'm one girl and a 3 guys, my friends, don't give them money

I have tried to get into this bar twice now the first time there was four of us was at wetherspoons for food and a drink before we tired to get in and was told no before they looked at our ids then me and my misses tried to get in tonight for my 21st we were at a restaurant for dinner then tried to get in and as we were walking to the front door they had already told us no didn’t give us any reason or even asked for id we didn’t have a single drop of alcohol in our systems both times I was wearing cargos and a polo top on I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone I will not be trying to get into this place in the future.

Attended last night and refused entry on the basis I pronounced the Italian restaurant where me and my wife had been wrong. I was totally embarrassed. When I asked why he said “ I was going to give you a reason but now I’m not” while pointing at his cctv body cam. Having worked in the industry for 20 years myself that was ridiculous. I think he was bullied at school.

Visited Wunderbar Sat 1st March and had table booked for a few hours as a group. Downstairs on a Sat afternoon it was busy but still easy to get served at the bar and space to dance etc, bar staff all very friendly and served quickly, seen a lot of negative reviews on bouncers, but we did not experience this, the staff definitely work hard in here as very very busy. We left at 9pm as getting too busy and to the point of not being able to move. Definitely more a young venue but ok for older folk afternoon time for live music and a wee dance,

Worst security gaurds here by the name of ethany and izzi totally racist and allowing girls to go in throwing out the boys without any reason even if u show your id is well..always rude to boys everytime and allow only girls to go everything is excellent except gaurds

My son prebooked table paid £150 by card 2 weeks prior, when he and his 15 pals arrived to celebrate his 20th, they were told booking had been cancelled and were paid £150 cash in hand ( no paper trail) and asked to leave. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a Glasgow City Venue and not an isolated incident, as its happened on many occasions..avoid at all costs. Keen for response from management and an apology for bad form, doubt that will come.

Bouncer (blonde receding hairline, patchy beard and Stephen Bunting build) at the door for some reason denied me, my dad and my brother entry, bare in mind we were in the same place 1hr previous, but a group of 8-10 lads younger than us were aloud in as a group. Unreal experience

Staff were rude and aggressive to my male friends, they were incredibly touchy and flirty with lots of my female friends. Awful place to go.

8 of us went here but bouncers decided to knock one person back (first pub visited all sober) planned on spending 2 hours here. Had one drink and left.

Used to be a really good place in Glasgow. Unfortunately now a Saturday is full of drunken kids. Can we have an over 25 night on Saturdays instead

I raised concerns about a group of guys behaviour with a single female and discretely they dealt with it - I was wrong but they still Made sure every one was ok !!!

Don’t bother, came with a group of friends on New Years Day and was refused entry with absolutely no explanation even though we had a booking. Bouncers are ignorant and useless, not worth visiting 👍🏼

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Horrible bouncers on the door. Asked where we had been. Explained been at a concert where we had one drink about 4hrs previous. Told to find somewhere else with no reason. Group of about 7 lads in front had to queue for a booking that they had and when they got to the front they were told they have missed the booking. This was a Thursday night. Messaged the page on Facebook and they were not helpful at all. When you go out your way to try somewhere and get knocked back for no reason it ruins the night. Was through for the night from Dundee. Wasn’t packed, wasn’t drunk. But weirdly when we mentioned what concert we had been too that was enough for them to say nah not tonight. Guy took one look at us and then moved his focus over to the rest of the line, clearly getting a head start on judging folks appearance, dress sense. Hardly Buckingham palace and if there is a strict dress code, wouldn’t be a bad thing letting people coming from near know. Seems to be only if your famous or work on Open Goal you can get in.

Bouncer rejected me because of my skin color, I wish there was a 0/5 review, or that bar shuts forever

I have been on more than one occasion trying to get in. No alcohol in system. Only 3 friends and been informed that I'm "not booked in" yet then floods of randoms now booked and quite evidently drunk or high are allowed in. Majority of the time knocked back for absolute no reason at all. Town seems to be getting very strict now days.

These guys prioritise ratios over fairness in their line. My first venue of the night, yet they wouldn't let me and my girlfriend in because we were "drunk" after waiting 30m in the freezing queue. Had we had even 1 drink at that point, I'd understand, but clearly, the bouncer either didn't like us or had other motives. I even asked them to breathalyse me so they could see the stupidity in their decision. It completely ruined our night. The bottom line is that, despite us being returning customers, and it being a favourite in Glasgow, the security is far too strict and unjust.

Was excited to try Wunderbar for the first time in the city centre. The bouncers were quite rude and faced lots of questions in regards to what I was wearing not being "dressy" enough. Smart trousers and jacket and being told to where actual cargos next time because they are smarter and they have an old school manager I was surprised it. We walked in the place for over crowded with people dress less smart than me, and a a smell of sweat. We immediately turned round and left. I will not be returning.

Refused a group of 4 NHS workers just on an evening out about to join the other 3 in the bar, allowed others to join the bar no problem. Asked us where we have been prior to the bar and then refused entry when explained a karaoke bar, unsure as to why. Not a drunk or rude member in site within our party!

The atmosphere is good, but the volume is a bit too loud (>95 decibels), which is harmful to hearing. There are many people at night, especially in the lobby upstairs.

Had a christmas night out here booked months in advance just to get turned back by one of the bouncers because someone in our group who had 1 pint in bucks bar prior was “too far gone” Bouncers need to get off their high horse

booked a table for my friends 21st party and all 3 bouncers said we were not allowed in as there were 4 of us usually love the place but will not be back(i took pictures of proof as to who said so)

Had to basically argue with the duty manager as I was a "single entry" despite proving who I was etc, felt like I'd been unfairly singled out for those who may have caused issues in tje past

Great bar with great live music but jesus christ, its absolutely mobbed, to the point it was pretty dangerous. Took me 15 minutes just to move past everyone to get to the toilet then 35 minutes waiting in the queue for the toilet.

I’m not much of a drinker so it baffles me why I’ve been refused as I’m not a drunk and loud kind of person, maybe it’s because I’m not a young girl with a short dress. Either way this a problem across Glasgow but this place is getting famous from this now. I’m sure inside it is a nice place but the company employs these people and they’re representing their establishment

Never heard a good thing about wunderbar. They act as if it’s Buckingham palace you’re trying to get into😂 They accuse you of being drunk even if you haven’t had a drink yet. There bouncers knocked you back for your outfit even if your simply wearing jeans and a polo shirt. Wouldn’t waste my time trying to get in.

Great gem of a place, hard to find but worth it. Great venue, decor and vibe is cool and unique. The staff were very friendly and efficient, really good choice of drinks and cocktails. Can't remember the names of the the ones we had but they were very tasty indeed, along with some st mungos beer. Had a really cool outdoor section with heaters and smart booths, really handy for smokers like me and can still enjoy the venues vibe. Fair prices as well a good staff makes it a must visit

The name says it all. Incredibly lively, great music, fun atmosphere. Clear security presence that kept things safe and handled folks appropriately.

Bouncers are very aggressive and have left me with bruises over my arm. Avoid at all cost. They should of been more concerned with the boy who was constantly harassing the young lady who I was worried about than with myself, who was only wanting to make sure the girl was safe and OK. I have a son who is only a couple of years younger than her so felt my parent mode kick in. Was met with so called men bouncers screaming in my face and grabbing me violently digging their fingers into my arm which was absolutely unacceptable and unnecessary. Shocking behaviour. Reading other reviews today speaks volumes regarding the bouncers. The owner really needs to sort this out. I admit I should have reported the young man's behaviour than try and sort it myself which was a fault on my part. I am still very confused to why they felt being as aggressive as they were was appropriate as I would have left if I was asked to no problem. Screaming in my face when I had no clue why and grabbing me hurting me didnt make sense. I can only imagine the incident with the boy and the girl was the reason as I couldnt understand the screaming from the bouncers and was overwhelmed by the aggression. Won't be back obviously. Be very aware of these bouncers if you go here. If you see behaviour that isn't ok. Make sure to report it than try to resolve it yourself. Lesson learned on my part. But these bouncers need to get a grip of their behaviour.

Absolutely ridiculous in here. Went last night for the first time and it was absolutely heaving. Couldn’t move or even get the toilet because the queue was massive. Was in there two minutes and had to leave because I couldn’t breathe, don’t know why they weren’t turning people away at the door So dangerous as if there was a fire everyone would be trampling on each other

Absolutely packed in here and a danger hazard someone will seriously get hurt in here one day if continue this way. I was in here for 5 minutes last night and had to leave was literally touching bodies with everyone in there and couldn’t breathe. Shouldn’t be letting people in when it’s this packed! Turn random people away too after queuing for a long time won’t be back.

Great place for a Thursday evening!

CCTV IN TOILETS BEWARE. Male toilets no soap. Bar area, stairs to toilets floor not cleaned properly. That sticky feeling. Got the feeling the member of staff who served me was out his face on drugs. Casually put a slice of lemon in my drink with his fingers then wipped them on his denims. Looks trendy and modern but needs better management to make sure the place could live up to expectations.

I had a deeply troubling experience with the Wunderbar Security Team. We were denied entry without any explanation, and one particular staff member of Indian descent was especially unprofessional and dismissive. His behavior was rude and seemed intentionally obstructive, which made us feel like our treatment might have been influenced by racial bias. This kind of conduct is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about fairness and discrimination. I hope Wunderbar takes immediate action to address these issues and ensure that all guests are treated with respect and dignity.

It wasn't bad, but more for younger people who go out more to hang out or party. There was a guy playing that was good but we caught him almost at the end and they turned up the music a lot.

Wunderbar used to be somewhere I enjoyed going, but not anymore. It is always far too busy, you can't move and everyone is packed in to such a small area. The music is good I won't be returning though. On a recent visit, my pal got chucked out because he was told someone made a complaint against him and someone felt like they were being harassed. My pal was sober & was literally stood at the back of the dance floor listening to music and enjoying his night whilst we got drinks from the bar.He was told to get his jacket and leave. Bouncers were so arrogant & had no intention of listening to us. Absolutely shocking way to treat someone! If you enjoy a night out with drinks & music, I'd recommend somewhere else as this venue isn't what it used to be like

Place seemed okay so tried again the next night which was much quieter and the same thing happened. Arrived here yesterday to see if it was as good as people had said. Was very busy upstairs, so we were going to go elsewhere but bouncers told us there was much more room downstairs, which we didn’t know existed. When we got downstairs, there weren’t many people but so many tabes had reserved signs on. Obviously we totally avoided those tables and chose one with no sign on. We were loving the place, drinks were lovely, singer was fabulous. There were only 3 of us, so we told other people they could sit at opposite end of table. We had been there approximately 2 hours when a member of staff walked over, said our table was reserved and we needed to move. There’s was nothing on that table to say it was reserved and place was quiet when we arrived. We asked if we could at least finish our drinks but were told no, you need to move now. At no point did anyone use the words, sorry for inconvenience, sorry someone made a mistake, it was very confrontational. I’ve never been confronted by such rude staff. Such a shame a nice afternoon was ruined by them. On the way out, we spoke to more people standing about who had also been kicked off tables twice, with no reserved signs. I definitely wouldn’t return.

Brilliant atmosphere, the musicians were fantastic on both floors, constant good music playing even when the musicians were taking breaks. Very very busy on the Friday night I was there, staff were filling drinks right up to the top of small glasses but it was so packed with people everywhere I ended up covered in sticky alcohol. Trying to squeeze past people to get anywhere at all was a nightmare. The bouncers did ask how many people were in our group (10+ people) before entering, they didn't check ID or bags/pockets but did check the jackets of the people in infront of us. I would go back but I would personally avoid the weekend if I could.

Booked table here and arrived at 4pm Friday 16th August. Shocking power trip attitude the *very young man on the door rude, arrogant and obnoxious some way to greet a customer! The young lady on the door was polite and appeared genuinely embarrassed. My colleagues and I left after a few drinks and spent the evening and lots of money elsewhere. When we left the same doorman was being difficult, the same power trip with some young women and their IDs. If you want a night out in Glasgow PLEASE DON'T GO TO WUNDERBAR!!! I never will again. * there are literally dozens of complaints regarding Wunderbar Glasgow's door staff and on many other sites too not just Google, but the one 2 months ago here is too much of a coincidence Aidan

Nice bar with good drinks. However it’s extremely loud, so hard to hear people. The staff were also not very attentive and it took ages to get our table we booked

This is a great pub located off the beaten path, with a fantastic selection of beers and live music. It's the perfect spot for a group night out, although it might be a bit challenging to hold a conversation once the music starts.

Didn’t let us in after booking in advance for a party - very odd and there was no reason for it. Very unprofessional environment - don’t go here!!!!

I and my friend wanted to get in tonight to have some fun for my birthday. After so much plan and all. A so called security denied us entry without any reason. So unprofessional . Didn’t even ask for IDs or anything. Just how he feels. I wonder if this is how wunderbar operates. I say again, very disappointing!!! Ruined my day. I even shows pictures of my previous visits to the bar. I can’t erase this embarrassment from my memory lol. I’m not underaged and I we went with our IDs. I even 31 lol. And I haven’t even tasted any alcohol today lol. I wonder why he did that.

We had a poor but I fear not uncommon experience when we chose to give our business to Wunderbar on Saturday 24th March 2024 (yes this review is late, but still has a point to make….). Booking at 1pm, we were still eating our food when we were told at 2.45 that our table would be required back at 3pm for another incoming booking. I don’t know how people meeting up from different cities for a reunion are meant to plan a day out these days, as this Covid-driven policy of taking tables back for new bookings, has become latched onto by establishments such as Wunderbar to create a revolving door of booking who are buying food and beer, and not just beer. We would have happily sat and order bottle after bottle of Prosecco and pints of beer until 8pm, however we were not given much in the way of consideration or sympathy by the staff, constantly citing that they were sorry but they were fully booked, despite our party having a member who walked with crutches and moving from pub to pub was not really an option. Fair enough if you position your establishment as a restaurant (Wunderrestaurant perhaps?) but to go to a “bar” and be turfed out of your table because you’re merely drinking and not eating is going to present a problem for many hostelries as the cost of living crisis bites and people vote with their feet to go to a more flexible and welcoming “bar”. Very disappointing and couldn’t really see us coming back to this place, as who goes out for only two hours?

We were looking for a bar after the pub we were at had closed. So we found this one and the bouncers were friendly and uncomplicated. So we went inside and were welcomed by a great spirit: everybody was happy and there was danceable live music (late at night, we really liked that; 90s till 10s). Also the atmosphere was great as it wasn't as dark as other bars and it has an outdoor area where you can chill and smoke if you do. All in all, everyone of us had an awesome night, we loved it!

A group of us were in Wunderbar recently, had a good time until a large fight broke out, security were fast on the scene, however due to issues outwith their control they were told they were ‘not allowed’ to throw these individuals out of the bar. Several other fights continued to break out thoughout the night involving the same people and they were still allowed to remain in the bar. They continued to make everyone feel uncomfortable, were clearly very inebriated and in any other club they would have been removed immediately. We then spoke to the bouncers about this and said we were leaving as a result of these people, and they said their hands were tied by ‘higher ups’ and could not throw these individuals out. We have collectively decided we will not be returning to Wunderbar as a result of this incident, and will not be returning to any establishments in Glasgow owned by the same people. Will also be spreading this message as I do not want someone to have an uncomfortable experience in their establishments as a result of ridiculous money politics. We felt unsafe directly because of these people, and those in charge of our safety did nothing about it. Do not go.

Fun bar with great live music. Good beer selection.

Booked a table for 10 and given a booth outback which was a tight squeeze for us all to fit in. Asked for more chairs which were refused. Also in a smoking area and none of us were smokers.

Great drinks. Wonderful service. Very lively and beautiful vibe.

Arrived around 6pm to meet friends for drinks, all the inside seats were reserved for later and had to sit outside which was ok. We had been sitting outside for a few hours and told our seats were reserved and to vacate them in 1 hour despite being told earlier that none of the outside seats were reserved. Also a few of our party were sitting on the ground in front of our table when a staff member told them to move as it was near the fire exit. Low and behold within a few hours you couldn't even see the fire exit as there were so many people in front of it and staff didn't bat an eyelid, strange..

Went last Saturday at 6pm to celebrate a Birthday. Barely got to the start of the queue before one of the bouncers told us to go 'get some food' and come back in half an hour, before even talking to us. We were nowhere near drunk and had one or two drinks each. Anyway, we explained we had just had a three course meal, therefore did not need food and the bouncer was not listening to a word were saying and was being completely arrogant. It was apparent that the bouncer had a bad attitude and gets off on ruining peoples night for no reason. Whilst we were standing there, one of the bouncers said to the other bouncer 'I'm not letting them in' (referring to a group of boys approaching, half way down the street). Clearly, the bouncers were deciding based on appearance who they were letting in. AVOID!!!

We weren’t allowed in because we were English, bouncer said “not letting in tonight” then let in a Scottish person in the queue afterwards.

Gents toilets need upgraded if I'm totally honest

Absolutely brilliant night in here, from the door staff to bar staff all lovely, the music was great, thank you to the staff who opened the disabled toilet for me, I have mobility issues and the staff couldn't have been anymore helpful.

Bouncers are quite judgemental. Was allowed in on Tuesday no hassle, similar outfit. Had a great time, wanted to go back. Tried again on Friday, was asked to go somewhere else within seconds of greeting bouncer. We asked why and wasn't given a reason.
