Wrights Pies in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Very Dry, very little filling and tasteless, over priced. I was in a hurry and hungry so made the mistake of going in. pie and cake tasteless, I didnt eat them so basically throw my money in the bin. Well done Wrights years in business and you've not learnt to cook.

2:55 I went in and asked for the vegetarian options, the lady gave me ‘4 cheese and onion pastries’ I get back in the car and gave one to my dad, he bites into it and finds out it’s a meat filled pastry. I go back in and another lady serves me asking what’s happened. I explained to her colleague that I asked the lady for the vegetarian option and that she’s given me a meat pastry. The lady asks me to stand to the side and serve the others waiting in line, I can tell she said that so the other customers don’t hear about the complaint. The lady then tells me that it’s going to be another 20 minutes before the pastries come out of the oven. Not once did she apologise, she didn’t even offer a refund or anything else she could do for me, instead I had to ask her for a refund on that one pastry, and my dad had to go hungry. The staff are very careless considering that there’s people that follow their beliefs and diets strictly and some people are against eating meat and to find out that they’ve eaten meat and not get one apology in return or even a refund is ridiculous. Go pound bakery or greggs or any other bakery but definitely don’t go Wrights👎🏽

Horrible shock for a so called steak premium pie it was full of fat and grisly tubes no idea what was that seemed like arteries uch

My husband and i have always enjoyed the small wrapped pork pie as a treat now and then from the local shop. The two we have had recently were very different. Greasy taste and you can feel the grease on your lips even. They now taste horrible and you can see loads of fat, in what no longer tastes good at all. We will never buy again.

Called in here for the second time ( last time was 2 years ago and the pasties are still disgusting! Grease really is the word here 🕺🏽 £7 for 2 sausage rolls & 2 corned beef pasties & 1 Ribena! I’ll try again in another 2 years maybe.

Delicious pies, sandwiches, lobby, cakes , oatcakes and crisps and drinks also available. Friendly ladies staff. Nice & clean. It gets very busy so stock sells quickly. Parking in the side street or on nearby carpark near Salvation Army.

This pie shop is quite spacious. There are a few tables and chairs, and you can sit down inside should it be raining outside.

Wright's pies used to be the best by miles. Now they're just OK after a takeover years ago. They lack quality and taste and I long fir the old traditional fare. On the plus side the cakes are really good and the shop caters for parties etc. I'll still be going.....

I called in around 3.30pm this afternoon and asked for a cheese & onion pastie as i am a vegetarian. The lady offered me 2 for £2 but i only had the 1. After eating a couple of bites i thought it tasted funny so looked inside it to see pinkish meat. I am a vegetarian and strictly do not eat meat and have not for 25 years. I feel physically sick, typically the shop is now closed or i would be taking a trip back with the half eaten meat pastie. Disgusted!!!

Lovely pies! Take one home,heat it up in the oven and serve with home made chips,mushy peas and gravy! That’s what I’m having for tea tonight.

Wrights pies are just the best! Lovely, clean shop, nice staff. Great bread & cakes too. Wrights knock spots off most pies - their pastry isn't at all greasy and the fillings are well cooked and seasoned. Delicious!

Where do I start never in my life have i received such shocking customer service i asked for a breakfast sandwich the lady serving me just rolled her eyes walked of did it like it was a massive inconvenience and this guys is the manager!. I asked for a sausage roll too, even though i was thinking don't inconvenience her anymore it was very doughy at the bottom still so that went straight in the bin. Never would visit again and i spoke to lots of others what have said the same about this place

their fairy cake are made of carrots and not sponge I was so angry also their chicken pie was in a circle shape not on a plate I wish their prices were cheaper but they charge 1 pound for a pasty which is disgusting I will never eat there again

It seems very nice and hot the restaurant is always very clean and usually busy but this time there was nobly in there

This shop is in my local village. Clean and modern, good selection of hot and cold food. Wrights pies used to be so nice, but they're definitely lacking in filling and flavour these days.

Very tasty! Easily found in the centre of Newcastle, this little take away has excellent, locally made pies.
