Great atmosphere. Great layout. Really has a nice feel inside. Staff are friendly. Absolutely LOVE the food shop area and the shop further back from that selling things like soaps and bags. Lovely fresh location with trees around. I’d say the served food wasn’t great, I wouldn’t eat there again, and it was really overpriced! But I’d 100% return for hot drinks and the food shop!

Ordered a steak sandwich for £14.50. Sourdough bread took 10 goes with a steak knife to cut it. Ended up leaving nearly all the bread . The steak salad and tomatoes tasted nice but it wasn’t a large amount . They did discount one of the two sandwiches we had when we complained. For that price also there was nothing with it like coleslaw or salad garnish . The bread tasted ok when you managed to cut some but I’ve had better steak sandwiches in a pub for half the price .

Stopped here on the way home from Carmarthen as recommended by family members. Greeted with a warm welcome by their friendly staff and was pleased to see a selection of local produce on the menu. The place is quaint, natural and just what you want from a rustic honest place to enjoy food and drink with family and friends.

So even though we called in a for a coffee and cake it was far too much optimism to expect a cake that was at least fresh and to arrive at the same time as the coffee. Dreadful!! Place has so much potential - not difficult to supply freshly home baked cakes! Nonetheless, they didn’t charge us! Whole premises could do with a good scrub! Won’t be returning.

This restaurant has potential, but there are areas that need improvement. Both the restaurant and shop areas could benefit from better cleanliness. The food was average, not outstanding. The service could be more attentive and friendly. Overall, there is room for enhancement in various aspects of the dining experience.

Excellent food. Great staff. Awesome products to purchase Reason for only three stars is because the dining areas are dog friendly. Not nice having the strong smell of wet dog while your eating!

Really enjoyable Easter brunch with the family. The food was fantastic and the service friendly and faultless. The Cuban sandwich was immense - was full all day after that! And my wife and Mum both spoke very highly of the vegetable bubble and squeak. And then there were the cakes! Wow. Have been here on several trips to see my folks and it was not this great last time tbh. But this experience was five stars all round. Lovely environment and obviously run by people who know their food. The menu is not extensive like you get in many places - but my goodness it was tasty. Looking forward to going back…

I ordered the steak sandwich and it came with mayo. It didn’t say mayo on the menu so the waitress suggested to scrape it off which I agreed to but it was still in there so I couldn’t eat any of it. . In my opinion they should have made a new one without mayo but maybe i expect too much. Anyway my dog had some nice steak. This put me off buying anything in the shop and won’t be going back in a hurry.

Our first visit to Wrights was a few years ago and we were agog at all the amazing cakes so read out on a big table which is just about the first thing you see on entry. We were not disappointed with our choices, and the helpings were very generous. Those cakes were absolutely delicious, and so was the coffee. The only downside was the cost. It did seem rather expensive, but I have to say that, fir a special treat, it is really worth a visit.

Food was well below average …….nothing like was advertised on the internet… what was shocking was the outright hostile service…… the waitress slamming food down and huffing and puffing….. the other staff were of similar calibre…. Called in today and was quite desperate to get my mouth around a cubana sandwich so was horrified to be given an extremely limited 2 or 3 course menu. We’d arrived at the restaurant just before 11.30 and the waitress told my husband they didn’t open until 12.00 so I was loathe to leave without ordering as we had waited 35 minutes in the car! I ordered a beetroot, Stilton and walnut salad as a starter which was nice enough. Then we both had the meatballs for a main - again they were nice enough but not what either of us would normally have chosen. Hubby had a dessert of meringue with fruit, which he enjoyed. I understand why there wasn’t a full menu as the waitress explained they had to reduce the number of people in the kitchen - due to Covid. But I don’t understand why they went for the 2/3 course option of only a choice of two for each course. I’d would have preferred a selection of small say 6 plates - then choose 3 for your meal. Or something similar.

Visited with my daughter for lunch during the government scheme. The two course lunch would have been £25 per person, which frankly was extremely expensive for the choice and portion size. However during the scheme it was £10 per person cheaper. If it hadn’t have been for the discount I’d have been dissatisfied and somewhat disappointed but at £30 inclusive of one drink each was ok. Still expensive for a lunch but it was a treat as we’d been stuck in for months. Would my experience make me go back? Not really.

After bragging this place up to our friends for the last couple of years we finally took them to visit. Only three choices on the “limited” menu, none of which really appealed for an early lunch. Set prices too - realised after we left we must of been charged for 4, courses rather than the 2 courses we had. And One of our party only had a coffee rather than a second course! After handing over £100 on a bill of £92 the waitress said thank you very much and didn’t bother offering change!Look, the food was ok but offering a plate of lentils with a potato covering and charging £24 is rather taking the psss.

Clearly a very popular watering hole and reasonably priced freshly cooked food. Shame the menu was limited to only 2 of each of starter/mains and dessert but the dishes were very enjoyable...........the ex-pub has been well updated with tables (perhaps) excessively over socially distanced. Enjoyment of the meal was tempered by the breeze blasting in through open windows which we were told was necessary to meet Covid guidelines....... Wouldnt like to eat there in a couple of months time if that stated rule persists!!!

Booked for Saturday evening during Wrights alternative COVID-service. Can’t imagine how tricky it must have been to redesign and continue to serve customers. We really enjoyed their set 3 course menu - that meant we tried some very tasty food that maybe we wouldn’t have usually ordered and some Delicious white wine from their french supplier. All served up with friendly chat and no fuss! Ginger sponge with butterscotch sauce deserves a special mention and coffee was great! Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting this side of the Brecon Beacons - for dinner or hopefully to buy from the shop when its able to be fully open.

We are unashamed fans of Wright’s and it was one of the first places we visited when 5 mile restriction lifted. 54 mile round trip for a Cubano and a Rarebit so worth it. Today we went for the set lunch menu £25 for three courses. Even a thunderstorm to end all thunderstorms did not deter us or them. We were originally in the marquee outside - customers ok but staff getting drenched as storm really took hold. Starters of hummus with peppers & pomegranate seeds and a bruschetta of halloumi and heritage tomatoes were worth the trip alone. The flavours released were just gorgeous (the house red by the way perfectly complemented the bruschetta). We moved inside for the rest of the meal. The Mains came in bowls which although looked small seemed never ending. The Risotto Primavera was full of peas, asparagus and wilted greens - the cheese a little too sharp for my husband’s taste (pecorino perhaps?). I had the mutton curry. Not my top choice of meat but not greasy, so tender (cliche melt in the mouth) and in a hot sweet curry sauce with potato and a generous dollop of raita. Served with a soft warm flatbread to mop up the sauce. Delicious Finished off with the signature Chocolate Torte and ice cream for me, the husband opting for meringue with cream and sweet sticky plums. Great value for £25 a head at best of times but then £10 off pp for Eat Out Help Out scheme. #bonus As ever great food and resourceful

After many visits in the past to Wrights Emporium, today’s visit may have just been an off day. We and our family have been glowing in our praise of it in the past, And as a result many of the customers have use their services. It’s fresh local produce and emphasis on healthy simple eating at a great price made it quite unique in our experience in this part of Wales. It’s shabby chic approach seemed highly appropriate, and the inability to book tables but have to wait until they became available or part of the same identity.Today the table we sat at was literally falling apart, and the paving slabs around it with dangerously loose and rocking. There was a constant loud drip immediately above my head where we were sitting, onto the thin roof, which drove me nuts! It took absolutely ages for a very simple meal to be delivered, and they totally forgot to supply the second round of drinks. But the food was good and as we expected, and the atmosphere the same as ever.So maybe it was a bad day, but it cannot be disputed that they need to invest once again in improving the decor and some key elements of what is now looking very worn out shabby chic.

My neighbour in London recommended we should try Wright’s if we were going to Wales. Despite it being an hour from where we staying, it was well worth the trip. Lovely building, wonderful shop selling local food, pottery, books etc and top quality food. My sausage roll was so good I went back and tried the bacon one. I was completely stuffed but still managed to (eventually) pack in an amazing piece of pecan and treacle tart, selected from the wide range of completely irresistible cakes and puddings. This is a splendid place. Visitors to the area, we found it through listings and find the five stars absolutely deserved (unlike many places!). There are several rooms, so levels of noise are perfect. They admit dogs to a couple of the rooms, again sensible. The menu is quite short (again sensible and a sign of fresh cooking) and a decent choice. Wines are fine and we were offered a sample before buying the bottle. Service was efficient and well-timed. Nice, quirky venue but my pet hate of a blackboard to order from! I found the writing hard to read and you stand in everyone’s way whilst hastily choosing something in order to return to your table. Still, the options were appealing and we all ordered various dishes. Service was friendly, water served without question is always appreciated though the coffees seemed a little on the small side and the house lemonade lacked the kick of lemon. Wanted to visit this place for years and finally got here today. Had the pork belly Cubano sandwich which was stunning! Proper bread, quality ingredients and very filling, even for someone with a big appetite! Had two cappuccinos as they clearly know how to make a coffee unlike the dross you get elsewhere. My wife had a bacon sandwich which was also very good. We also took away the focaccia bread which was great and a chocolate brownie which was fairly good but nothing special. The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is down to the service/attitude where there’s this air of ‘we’ll deal with you in our time’ (we were 2nd customer there so wasn’t busy) and feel of intrusion rather than the bright, friendly service this places deserves to match the food that really delivers!

Seated as soon as we arrived. Waitress was very helpful in discussing the menu with us! I went fit the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon! Divine! Great range of deserts on offer too!

This is not a conventional restaurant in appearance with a mix of seating and tables. The food is great, all fresh and well presented, not cheap but I feel the quality is worth it. The cakes are special, worth leaving a space for if you can, or have take something home for later.

Visited with a friend for lunch, place was busy. Food was lovely and such a choice, especially the puddings! We must have spent 3 hours there, not rushed at all, so many nooks and crannies. Lovely place with great food & staff.

The experience was very special. The choice of food is both unusual and very tempting. Lovely flavours and wholesome. There are many rooms to eat in with the deco both rustic and homely. A must place to visit.

Simply put, it's some of the best value and unique dining experiences in the region. Inventive dishes made with high quality ingredients and daily menu changes make it a nice place to visit regularly, you never know what might be on the menu board. Won't go into a long ramble about specific dishes but if you want excellent food, reasonable prices, great atmosphere and service, make sure to visit Wright's. You might even be surprised by the beautiful roads that might lead you there!

Firstly can I say that I wrote a review on the other Wright's emporium but I think it's no longer the one people read. I felt compelled to write a review as I truly had a beautiful meal. So did my partner and my three year old enjoyed the home made chocolate brownie with some help from his dad lol. Ok. I had butternut squash spinach and pesto lasagne with a huge bowl of tasty salad leaves. Lush no more to say. My partner had the salmon and pickle sandwich which had so much lovely salmon in it and tasted stunning. They get the salmon from crickhowell because it's so good. My partner kept on and on about how good it was but I was more than happy with my food and wouldn't have swapped if he'd asked. In fact he may have lost a finger if he'd tried lol. I was stuffed full like a pin cushion. But we were sitting within the hypnotic sight and smell of dessert. I swear it literally called me no it begged me to try it and my name isn't even Alice. I had the sultana and nutmeg cheesecake. Sounds simple and basic. Don't be fooled. Each dessert looked lovely but mine was lush and I didn't have enough room to try them all. So if you want a nice meal then that's what you get. I will return and next time not with my children. Thank you for a really enjoyable experience x

Met up with friends. Extremely popular but spacious place. Large board of tapas type meals individualy cooked and a lot ofthe produce is local. Caters for meat lovers and vegetarians. Also a good deli area to buy to take home. Nearby are Aberglasney Gardens and National Botanic Gardens, numerous castles and Picton monument

Absolutely beautiful food, can't fault anything even the red wine was lovely and I never drink red! The deep fried sprouts with bacon and maple syrup were to die for!

Having tried to get a table many times we thought we were lucky to succeed. Strange place. No menus or wine list on the table and the dishes on the board lacked description. The house wine was appalling. It is served on drought and tastes more like cider than Chenin Blanc. Our meals arrived and were lukewarm, probably why there were only two hot dishes on the entire menu. It was an expensive experience but the entertainment was provided by a chef in the kitchen who was using her hands for everything, from putting smoked salmon on scrambled eggs to dishing out sandwiches. Strange place. Won’t be going again

Top produce, expertly prepared with lovely atmosphere. Aside from their informal eaterie they have a minimarket selling top quality items for the foodie and the very best of local fresh produce. A must visit if your in the area.

First time we've visited. Had read reviews so knew that may have to wait for table, menu would be on the board and independent drinks to choose from vs. branded drinks.

Came for a simple lunch. The pork cabana might cost £8 but it is the best sandwich I have ever tasted-and I have made 100 + reviews of restaurants around the world. The pork combined with cheese and ham was simply sensational

We visited at 2pm on a Sunday for a late light lunch. Excellent welcome, wide eclectic choice in what was clearly a busy period. The drinks arrived swiftly but the food took approximately fifty minutes. However the wait was not as bad as it seems due to the relaxed atmosphere and the clear evidence that every body was working hard. We were just on the end of a 'rush'. When it arrived the lunch was tasty and the cake outstanding, you have e just got to indulge.

Great food in lovely rustic relaxed surroundings. Food was good but not the cheapest but you would I suppose expect to pay a little bit more in a place like this. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Our visit to Beachside Coffee Shoo in Llanelli was absolutely first class. Both of the staff were really friendly & helpful, especially since we arrived 15 mins before closing time. Both the toastie with Mozzarella & Welsh cheese with onions & tomatoes that I had and Mary’s baked potato with Mozzarella & beans came with salad and were really tasty. Also our 3 dogs were well accepted and the other customer was really chatty and enjoyed the dogs. Great place and we would highly recommend it. 👍
