Great customer service and good portion sizes!

My opinion , the best in Manchester City centre and can usually get a seat at the breakfast bars to eat in. Fish always fresh and decent portion of chips. Fast service and a pleasure to visit.

Simply the best chips in the centre of Manchester. Proper chips, not fries, and not oven chips, and not scraps. Chips done proper, with or without fish and pies. Eat in or take away. Cannot be beaten.

Recommended by a friend to try it on Good Friday and it’s so yummy

If you’re in search for a good OG fish & chips (minus the newspaper), this is the place! Shop is a bit small so it will be a bit cramped during peak hours. But other than that, all is good!

Nice welcome by friendly staff. Food was good size portion, we shared a small and it was enough, cooked quickly and to order. Would heartily recommend to anyone. Not sure it beats southern fish and chips but a great try. 😉

I didn't know what was on the menu, so I just ordered some random dishes, and ordered thin pieces of fish and chips. There were some seats at the bar, and the food was acceptable. The price is reasonable.

Went there yesterday and had sausage in batter and chips with a can of coke. Prices were reasonable, the woman who served me was really friendly. I'll most definitely be coming back.

Wrights fish and chip shop provides excellent service Everytime I go in. The food is always up to high standards and there is always a welcoming manner from all the staff. I would recommend this fish and chip shop to everyone.

Whenever me and my family go into town shopping , my children demand to visit Wright's chippy . They love the staffs friendly, helpful demeanour but most of all they love the food . My 10yo has voted the chicken nuggets "the best nuggets in the world " . I myself love the Fish and chips, lovely freshly made fish and beautiful traditional chips . PERFECT

As a person that has autism, which creates anxiety anyway, especially with being in busy a busy compact space, I have waited in the line until I’ve got to the front where an older lady has served me started to prepare my order. And then she then went to try to belittle me and intimidate me in front of many customers that were eating and also waiting because last time I was there, I had an unfriendly experience with another staff member because I only asked for my food to be separated. Very uncooperative, very unfriendly and very intimidating, especially with somebody that has disabilities! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY WHO STRUGGLES WITH COMMUNICATION AND SOICAL SKILLS. I have left feeling upset, anxious and massively embarrassed. Absolutely uncalled for and unprofessional considering the lady was telling me, she would find out where I work for unknown reasons.. that is threatening behaviour towards a customer for no particular reason other then me leaving a review of my experience in this low quality and over priced fish and chip shop. 👌

I am autistic, and when I asked for my food to be separated, the woman made me feel so uncomfortable and anxious, and said that I would have to pay more for this to be done. She then huff and puffed at me, so I told her I would go elsewhere. Definitely would not recommend very unfriendly and uncooperative !!!

The fish and chips here are truly delicious. It can't be compared to the fried fish I had in Korea. This fish&chips is the best one I ever tried! The clerks were also very kind and I came here twice a day. If you want to eat fish&chips at Manchester, don't hesitate.

I was curious so I ate one for lunch and it was so delicious that I came again before it closed... . It tastes like golden olive. It's perfect for Korean tastes. It would be really good if you drink beer too.

The fish and chips are certainly the best in the city and for those I have eaten whilst travelling, certainly the best of my life. I recommend taking takeaway and eating elsewhere, because if you stay inside for too long you risk becoming permeated with the smell of fried food. I also recommend the classic pies, these too are really good. The fish dish is served not only with chips, but also with sauces

There was no beer to go with it. The food was just right but had more oil than was necessary. The service was good. The atmosphere was saturated with the smell of fried food.

No frills fish and chips shop with a dozen counter style seats. Chips are a 3 out of 5 at best: thick cut with creamy interior but limp and dry crusts. Would be much mpte enjoyable if properly double cooked. Ordered a haddock, but might have got cod instead due to an order mix up. Cod was lovely with chunky flaky flesh, with a wonderfully fried crust that was airy and light, yet crunchy and not greasy. The contrast in crunch between the fish and the chips only made the chips pale even more in comparison. Generous portions for under £10 for a fish and chips. Enjoyable fish but would return only if chips were better.

It was my first time trying fish&chips Definitely worth it

Im really disappointed this time round i went in for small chips and curry sauce although portion size was decent the chips were under cooked and tasteless and the curry sauce you could taste the powder it tasted and looked more like baby food. Ive been here before and absolutely loved the food but this time round i actually felt queasy after a few bites. I hope they can rectify their mistakes

I had a fish supper butty. It was bangin! Small portion of golden chips, thick & juicy fish in crispy batter with proper mushy peas and a decent sized fresh barmcake. Totally worth the £6.20. wasn't too busy, just before 12pm weekday. Definitely going again.

Don’t usually leave reviews unless I think the business is amazing. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had amazing staff and great pie and chips.

No frills good typical fish & chips place. Both the cod & haddock tasted good; not fishy taste, crispy coating. Generous portion of chips (only 2 quid) for a regular size. Mushy peas taste good. What I like is it’s not greasy and tasted fresh. Value for money.

Typical fish and chips place, which was good and plentiful. They put little effort into understanding you... And the place is old, which is not a problem. It's just uncomfortable as there is very little room to eat there.
