The quality of the food was quite good, though we found the prices to be high, especially considering the portion sizes. Despite there being only few occupied tables, the service was slower than expected. We also had to wait 25 minutes for our sirloin, and it would have been helpful if the waiter had informed us of the wait time in advance.

Shout out to the beef tartare, others are average, personally don’t recommend lamb, cute little place to be considered, walkin’s fine, but just a bit loud, kind of have to really talk in very loud voice

We first popped by here for early afternoon cocktails a few weeks ago and were tempted back by the tasty looking dishes being served. Friday night dinner, warm welcome and attentive helpful and genuinely lovely staff throughout. Menu is very well thought out, sourced and balanced to give really special choices. Too many highlights to mention but the beignets and ex-dairy sirloin were quite amazing! To the drinks - cocktails are creative, imaginative and 100% on point 🫶 And the menu speaks to my eternal love for Syrah (not found easily elsewhere) soo good! Recommend for drinks, lunch or dinner treats. Can’t wait to be back

A fabulous restaurant with excellent food and service. Tegan, our server, was super friendly and helpful and gave us a few top tips on what she’d recommend from the menu. Every dish was unusual and tasty and we really enjoyed my 50th birthday treat visit to 10 Tib Lane. The dishes are unusual and the team are happy to explain the menu and also introduce each dish as it’s served, which helps you pick a dish you’ll enjoy. Well worth a visit and we loved are lunch.

Wow I just had an amazing meal here. The menu is mostly sharing plates but I came here on my own and ate 3 of the appetizers as the beignets and they were absolutely delicious. The steak tartare came with shoe string fries that gave it an excellent crunch and the aubergine with almonds was also fantastic.

Fabulous night at 10 Tib Lane. We were visiting from Edinburgh for my husbands 40th. We had fizz on the house as we arrived (a lovely touch). The menu wasn't huge but the food was absolutely amazing. We were advised to share dishes between us. Everything we had was beautiful but the pork was absolutely outstanding! The server was lovely and attentive, and gave us a few recommendations for some bars afterwards. Would highly recommend this restaurant. It was a lovely birthday meal. Thank you.

It was very good the first night and excellent the second night. We found 10 Tib Lane and only expected to eat there once in our 3 nights in Manchester, however the food, ambience and staff were so good we just had to go back. The casual, yet professional nature of the servers was great, you can tell from their happiness and enthusiasm that they wanted to be there and to help you enjoy your food. The food was excellent, all with a small twist such as a pickled egg yolk on the steak tartare, or the use of dairy beef for the steak. The house pickles for the salami were great and the beignets sublime! The chef, staff and owners must be very happy with what they have come up with- congrats! PS when we asked for a takeaway ginger cake we got it in their version of a doggie bag

Had a great visit to 10 Tib Lane. Came in and sadly was lost in the fray for the moment as the bar was fully seated and we had reservation, took a moment to be seen to... however once seated, my oh my, what a lovely bar. Service was phenomenonal, quick, and friendly. Everything bar service should be. The waitress (sadly we didn't get her name) was bubbly, knowledgeable and the right kind of professional. Atmosphere was lovely, with great music and everyone else was in a great mood which helped elevate us into an ever better mood. Sadly didnt have food, but will have to come back to try. Great little cocktail menu, but slightly disappointed personally. Would have preferred to see more range (just a preference and won't affect my star review). However, the cocktails ordered (pictured) were excellent and reasonably priced for high quality ingredients. Would have been a 5/5, but sadly had two annoying issues. Firstly, the cocktail in the highball glass, (Bridgetown Fizz) was packed with large ice cubes, meaning you couldn't sip the drink easily without a straw (which didn't come without request). Secondly, if you're very tall (or broad) person like myself, sitting in certain areas is very cramped (as the bar was limited for space), and had people constantly knocking into me. Overall a strong 4/5.

The duck and the steak tartar was incredible and I will be thinking about it for a long time! The planning with Chloe to book this was great and I really appreciated the menu being created for us so I didn’t have to worry about gathering everyone’s pre order. Everyone at the table was blown away. I’m just so sad this restaurant is in Manchester and not London where I live. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because I couldn’t fault any of it. Booked for Saturday dinner more than a week in advance, good slots start to run out! Starters we had oysters and the beignets, tasty. For mains we had the sirloin and duck breast, these were cooked beautifully, the sauces were delicious and the portion size was good. Unfortunately the restaurant had run out of potatoes for sides, this was very odd for a good restaurant. Also one of the two sweet dessert courses had also ran out. Slightly disappointed about the unavailability but happy with everything else.

Staff and cocktails were superb. Very nice interior and atmosphere. The food was average to good. Celeriac and steak tartare starters were the strongest. Duck and seabass were decent. I think it's just fair, not extraordinarily outstanding on the whole. Has the aged sirloin and potatoes - potatoes is a let down tbh because it feels way too typical to go with steaks in a restaurant specialising in fancier dining and craftier innovative cuisine. It's a bit blend and plain. The steak comes with peppercorn sauce was an alright cut texture and portion wise, but not flavourful to the point that I'm blown away or has anything to do with our if the world melt in mouth texture. Pepper corn sauce is great but like I said again, quite a commonplace sauce to go with steaks to be honest. Service is nice and place is atmospheric, but I feel slightly disappointed. The menu is also not that varied, especially for small plates and sneaks. Lots of veggie/carb options which is imo a bit lame. I wasn't expecting to see things like olive or garlic bread-type appetisers on the menu.

Very good Manchester restaurant. We shared: beef tartare, grilled squash, taramasalata, salsify and mushroom porridge dishes and a bowl of confited potatoes and it was delicious. Easily one of the best restaurants in Manchester! And still feels like a hidden gem. The food, drinks, and staff are all always fantastic. The food is great for sharing which allows you to taste a lot of the menu. The smaller dishes are my fave and I love that the menu is regularly refreshed so there is always something new! From the selection you order the chef usually pairs the ones that go well together and sends them out steadily like this, meaning we never get overly full and really enjoy every dish! The larger dishes are a bit pricey but they’re always huge, so worth it! Special shout out the La Chona & Irish Coffees on the cocktail menu! I do love it here, it’s so nearly perfect! The atmosphere is one of my favourites for bars/ restaurants in Manchester, it’s so laid back, and the brick walls, plants, gives New York loft vibes, but still keeping it classy. We’ve been twice now in different seasons, so have tried two of their seasonal menus! Both were great and included some creative combinations like the goats cheese, nectarine and hazelnuts on their current one. I really like all the cocktails, but I do find them a little bit small for the price (desert wine sized glass). The staff are great and really lovely, but at times the service can be a tiny bit slow, perhaps they just need an extra person on, as it seems busy for the amount of staff on shift. But all in all would recommend for a lovely date night out or catch up with a friend with some yummy good quality food.

Had heard a lot about this place and was keen to try. They have a ‘cocktail bar’ downstairs with restaurant upstairs. We arrived early for our table and said we could order drinks for the bar whilst waiting. Service was slow. We were told someone would come to our table however that person was covering bar service and taking people up to their tables in the restaurant. Took 20 minutes to receive our first drinks (by this point we had been seated) so unable to sit and have a drink first as recommended by the staff. We ordered a couple of starters for a table of 4 and a main each with sides. There was no mention of how the food would come out. We had assumed that starter food and main would come together but gaps between each. Two mains arrived and there was a 10 minute delay for the remaining two mains and sides, some of our party started eating so the food wouldn’t go cold. In summary would say food was okay but have had better for the price range. Service wasn’t that fast and left waiting a lot of the time. Hopefully will improve in the future.

Me and my partner love the small plates concept and wanted to give this place a go after seeing good reviews and pictures. There are few reasons we are giving it 2 stars. First of all we went there mid service and a cocktail and oysters were missing from the menu. The first dish was monkfish crudo, we were skeptical as monkfish isn't a great choice of fish for crudo but we gave it a shot as we love seafood and there were only two dishes on the menu. The monkfish was way past its best and certainly not fresh enough to be served raw, also some of the pieces were not filleted well. We had tiger prawns which were cooked well but had way too much butter and were served on a piece of toast which was swimming in butter. The wine was all french natural wine and choosing a natural wine is like playing roulette, we lost every spin. The service was chaotic with no dedicated waitress. Price is what you would expect for a high end small plates restaurant.

The cod fish was salty as hell and the sauce underneath the fish tasted even more salty. Other than saltiness, there was no other flavour. The veg with hazelnut and pork chop were OK, quite creative, they were slightly better in comparison to the dishes mentioned below. The bone marrow, onglet and the cod fish are a BIG NO NO. Also they were extremely PRICEY. £75 for two. Hell no.

Nice restaurant that serves tapas sized dishes. Menu is very limited, but personally, I dont think that's an issue as long as you can find something you want to try. As its tapas style, we ordered 3 mains and 2 sides to share between 2 people, and that was plenty. Sourdough: I didn't try this, but there were 3 very large slices served with some butter. Fries: nice fries served with aioli mayo? Octopus: octopus served on a bed of potatoes. Decent but I wouldn't say it was worth the price. Lamb sweetheart: This was quite nice. Nice portion size, and I really enjoyed the taste. Lamb sweatheart with some potatoe slices and bits of bacon (?). Belly pork: Good portion size, and the pork had a crispy skin - similar to asian crispy belly pork. Relatively fatty, so if you dont enjoy fatty pork, then I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, the food was nice, but octopus wasn't worth the price, and the food in general was a tad bit salty but still nice The place offered to make any cocktail you wanted, but they dont have a menu for this . I ordered a mocktail pina colada and paid £6 for it. My friend ordered an orange juice, and that was £2.50. service charge 10% charged for any party size.

Very slow and confused service (our order was taken to other customers who arrived a few mins after us), drinks that we ordered were not brought, the waitresses needed prompting to remember to bring drinks that had been ordered, the wrong drinks were served, the wrong food was served). After 2 hours all of the ordered dishes hadn't been served and we had to leave for the theatre. I cannot comment on the deserts as we didn't get that far! Over the evening we were served by three waitresses. At one point one of the waitresses was sent to our table to perform a verbal Seppuku explaining that it was all her fault etc (to the embarrassment of all concerned). What kind of manager sends out a young probably minimum wage employee to do that? In the terms of the quality of the food the vegetarian small plates were served towards the end of the meal and were on the whole simply awful (beetroot under-seasoned and bland (ok if you are into a plate of par boiled beetroot), lettuce and ricotta (drenched in poor quality olive oil sprinkled with a few peas), baby leeks burnt the point of being tough and inedible. The mushroom and bean dish was well cooked. The sea bream ceviche was over-seasoned and just tasted of salt. They initially provided a full bill (removing the burnt food and the plates that hadn't been served), however, reconsidered and just charged us for the drinks. Just to clarify the review - the person that apologised introduced herself as our waitress not as a manager. Indeed, she stated that she needed to check things with her manager/ the owner. We didn't assume anything based on her gender! The view on her response to us was shared by all of the party - all of whom have had very senior managerial responsibility. The response from one of the female guests was - "well that was embarrassing who made her do that". Do we think the owner should have dealt with this directly without hiding in the kitchen? Absolutely. If your team doesn't perform to this extent then you 'carry the can' and sort it out. Did we want or expect a male owner to come out - not in your wildest dreams. I would add that the people most incensed by the quality of the food, service, and the ineptness of the response were the female members of the party. They were the ones who questioned the bill and discussed this with your staff. Clearly you haven't reviewed what happened with your staff. My own involvement on the day was to attempt to eat the food, apologise to my partner who wasn't able to eat anything (because it was either inedible or the food she wanted to eat and had ordered didn't arrive), feel very sorry for the serving staff, and be deeply embarrassed that I had recommended the restaurant. I am appalled that your response to the review was to attempt to smear the reviewer not to contact the reviewer to understand more about their perspective.

Great service, always with a smile. Cocktails are hit or miss, I’m more of a sweet cocktail person and they serve savoury. But it’s a nice cosy bar, and I’ve been several times before because it’s a nice atmosphere.

Amazing food - different plates that worked well together. Desserts were fantastic (deep fried bread and butter pudding was inspired). Cocktails were delicious (loving the ice cubes ;)). Could well be the best in Manchester. Service was great too.

Firstly my photos are rubbish and don't capture the food as well as it should. Also, I forgot to take photos of the full sea bream in champagne sauce, or the bone marrow served with Pommes Anna, we just got too hungry and forgot! Pig's Head croquette - wonderfully crispy on the outside, with a strong fatty pork flavour which I loved, outstanding! Bone Marrow with Pommes Anna - juicy, delicate, and the mouth feel of the fat coating your tonuge - gorgeous. Needed the salty pommes anna alongside for the perfect mouthful. Charred Hispi cabbage - a nice bitterness and complemented by the deep sauce. Beef shin and kidney rarebit pudding - a stodgy big portion, but the suet was light and crumbly, deep meaty flavours with the kidney not overpowering. This was a meal on its own! Roast duck with port sauce - perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. Sea Bream - whole sea bream which was perfectly roasted, champagne sauce was perhaps a little rich for us by then, but the chive oil did help to balance that out. House fries - nice, but we were stuffed so not really needed! No real complaints, it was busy and we hadn't booked, so we had to sit at the bar which wasn't the most comfortable. The food comes out as its ready which means we were left with the sea bream and fries at the end - would have been better if the order of dishes could have been rearranged, but anyway, this was a great meal. Including three soft drinks, only £92 for all that incredible food! Definitely need to go again!

We went ostensibly for the oyster and cocktail happy hour. Its a great deal, especially when adding in the funky ambience and excellent waitstaff. We ate 18 perfect oysters with a bottle of fizzy wine and cocktails. We were accompanied by two non-oyster-lovers so they ordered dishes from the main menu after enjoying olives and almonds. Sadly a couple were not really up to par. Fries with house sauce were tasty as was the squash but beetroot and colrabi were pretty bland. We will most certainly return for oysters when next in Manchester and will try other dishes then. Overall this was an enjoyable experience.

Ordered 4 mains - the triple cooked potatoes (bang average roasties), sardines (straight from the tin), kohlrabi salad (nice but small), and the roasted squash (turned up too late so we left it). Lovely setting and ambience and I would recommend others to go for the drinks and oysters, but the food on my visit was nothing better than what I make at home...

I got sick after visiting this place! Great atmosphere and wines but staff checking up too much to a point where it’s anxiety inducing, don’t think it’s necessary to ask every 10 minutes if I need ano
