We stopped off for the first time yesterday as having passed by may times sow e thought lets give a go. First impressions were good but beware of low beams if your 6ft. We were kept waiting so long that we were on the verge of walking out but we were glad we stayed as the cream tea and coffee were very good and we will be stopping off there again and the waiting time was a one off.

I chose the fruit scone & clotted cream but had butter as no cream, pot of tea was good. My daughter chose BLT garnish looked good but the bacon was disgusting it was burnt & full of yellow fat🤑, I wouldn’t feed that to my dog. My advice would be open your sandwich so you can see what you have been given. When asked was everything ok when we were paying the woman didn’t other anything other than a’sorry about that’. Won’t be going back

This is undoubtedly a hidden gem. Partly because it is so well hidden, set back from the road and behind a row of trees. A gem because it provides such a range of hot and cold food and beverages in a clean and quaint environment. It’s perhaps not the most suitable place for a cafe and the building isn’t ideal, but the owners have done amazingly well to make it work. Well done you! Service is excellent, which perhaps accounts for why it is so popular. Ample car parking, and if you need stamps, there is a post office next door. Not many cafes offer that!

We have driven past this Café on several occasions. On our way to a recent holiday we made a conscious decision to stop for a light lunch. We were not disappointed. Parking was a little tricky due to it's popularity but we did find a space. We didn't realise we could have parked in front of the closed post office. Staff were very welcoming, & we found a lovely cool place to sit on a warm day. Our choices were a mushroom omelette & a quiche, both with potato wedges & a tasty salad. We didn't have room for anything else but made a decision to return on the way home. After a week, we returned for coffee, carrot & orange cake & a lemon sponge. Both were faultless. We will be returning as we pass this village fairly regularly.

What a quaint little tea shop we went in for tea and scones on the way to a weekend away the scones a large warm light and delicious with jam and clotted cream lovely tea in a proper teapot and very friendly happy staff.. Wanting to repeat the experience we went in again in the way home and you can imagine our surprise when the staff remember us and even asked if we had a good time. This sort of customer care is very rare these days this little cafe is going on my favourite list

Went here one morning have always fancied going in cafe/quaint post office, old building, big teapot sign it made more of a presence outside than what both establishments the post office/shop and tea room offered inside. There was no exciting taste to my sausages just plain pork with gristle which I left on the plate. The sauces were very cheap packets that you would expect in a cheap roadside layby cafe or truck stop not quaint at all ! Also being a tea shop I couldn't understand the white tea pot that was so small I had to ask for more hot water as my second cup which made only 1/2 a cup was so strong, I couldn't drink it. Such a shame that this cafe is not providing the Suffolk charm when there are so many local producers of great tasting meat, small producers of jams, chutneys, honey, condiments, free range eggs. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, fields and farmland, cheese dairy farms, micro breweries which this cafe is just not using. I just think the owners need to talk to local producers and get rid of wholesale food it shouldn't all be about profit margins, but more about taste.

Stopped for a snack. Chose the Suffolk ham, mushroom and brie toasted sandwich. It was excellent. Also pleased that some of the ingredients they use on their menu are sourced locally, which must help the environment especially at present with problems with drivers, and supplies being delivered. More organisations should do more to use locally produced food, and also help local growers/producers.

We enjoyed a tasty lunch at this welcoming cafe after a nearby country walk. We decided on a BLT sandwich and a bacon and Brie toastie which came with crisps and ample garnish, both reasonably priced at under £6 each. A pot of tea and complimentary tap water washed it all down nicely. Too full up to enjoy a cake at the time, we bought a couple as a takeaway.

I had heard high praise about this establishment and was looking forward to trying it out. When we arrived I saw a brief menu on the wall so assumed that was all the food that was offered. The waitress came over promptly and asked if we would like any food, so I ordered based on the limited menu I saw. After she left and another table came in I saw the waitresses handing them menus. So I felt let down there as I had a limited choice of food. Then when my food arrived the waitress just dropped it off at the table, with no offer of sauces, then the next table she went to she offered sauces to everyone. I then tried to get her attention to get some sauce with no luck, so had to go to the till to ask for some. There seemed to be double standards with how she gave out the food. Overall I found the service unwelcoming.

I have used this tea room on several occasions, along with a friend and enjoyed it. However, the last two visits were spoiled by very noisy children (just out from school) and on the most recent one the adults with them were just as loud. What started out as a cosy quiet tea and chat became so noisy we literally couldn't hear each other or ourselves speak! I appreciate some local people like to have a catch up, but surely this shouldn't be at the expense of customers comfort. A great shame as there is a call for this sort of establishment and at other times it is a pleasant place to spend an hour or so.

We love it here. The sandwiches are delicious and there is a wide variety to choose from. The drinks and cakes are always very tasty although we would prefer to have the option of a latte rather than a standard coffee or milky coffee. The gingerbread latte for the festive season is rather tasty though, need to have more options like that throughout the year too. Our only gripe is that it closes too early at the weekend for those of us wanting tea/coffee and cake. When we phoned the other week to book a table for a large group of us we wanted somewhere to go to have afternoon tea midway between our evening meal and lunch but we were told that we couldn't arrive any later than 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. Considering we had only just eaten lunch at 1:30pm we felt this was too early and so sadly went elsewhere.

When family and friends come for an overnight visit, we send them on their way with a hearty breakfast. Sadly no dogs. Their cakes are quite good. I would recommend trying ham, egg and chips. We were on a drive out when we came to the sign of a teapot on the side of the road, looking through the trees we could see several cars parked, always a good sign.upon entering the building we were greeted warmly and invited to take a seat where we wished, it was very busy and we only had a choice of two free tables, and one of those was just being vacated. The tea shop is located in an old cottage joined to the post office. We were promptly greeted by a pleasant waitress who asked if we would like to order a drink and provided us with a menu for food and advised us of the daily specials on the blackboard. I choose my usual Earl Grey, lovely pre warmed china pot, and a cup and saucer, the other half choose an americano, nicely served with warmed milk. We looked at the menu, the other half choose sliced gammon ham and cheddar cheese toastie, real gammon sliced from the bone, nice thick slices, none of your prepackaged, how many slices can we get out of five ml here. Lovely strong cheddar cheese, full of flavour. This toastie was a meal in itself. I choose the gammon ham, mushroom and brie toastie, again the same gammon, real portions, well cut, thick slices, together with button mushroom and a good quality full of flavour brie, that had been perfectly melted throughout the mushrooms. Again this is a meal in itself, lovely generous portions on both of the toasties. The toasties were served with some lovely crisps, which were of good quality and complemented the toastie perfectly. Potato wedges and other sides are available. We were both tempted by the beautiful displays of cakes, all freshly made, and scones so huge they are afternoon tea on their own. The portions of cake are also very generous, this is actually a real tea shop which serves portions for real sized people. We both choose the tiffin, now this tiffin is something else, its a huge portion, crunchy biscuit, gooey, chocolate middle with extremely good quality milk chocolate top, which had that crack of breaking chocolate as one bites into it. Now that is the sign of a good chocolate. This just melts in the mouth with lovely strong flavoursome chocolate coming through. oh a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips, who cares, this is yumminess in itself. This is just the most amazing Tiffin we have tried I am not going to say anymore about it I don't want you to eat it all before I get back. The tea shop also served cooked meals which from what we saw are generous portions at sensible prices.Go on give it a try, if only for the tea and a bit of tiffin...Lovely, just lovely.

Plenty on the plate so we couldn't manage a sweet and instead bought two slices of cake, lemon and carrot, to take away. All very nice.Although under pressure, the staff were friendly. Nice surroundings with corner with books, and children's toys and Big Teddy. Village shop next door convenient for purchases and Post Office too.We will return.

Nice coffee, great cakes. We just had a coffee today which was hot and milky. You could have filter coffee if you preferred. Pleasant atmosphere and good view of the garden. Pretty, cottagey feel.

Great place to stop for a breakfast. Had the full English and is was all freshly cooked and came out piping hot. We choose to seat outside as it was such a lovely day and the garden area was nice and peaceful to seat and relax while we ate. The staff working Wednesday were very friendly, polite and helpful, we just had to order out food and relax while they did everything for us, credit to the tearoom.

This tea shop is well set back from the road, behind a green. There are two rooms and the one at the back looks out onto a very pleasant garden with a fishpond, although there is no access to the garden itself. The Full English breakfast is well cooked and plentiful. I have tried one muffin type cake, which was moist and tasty, and the sandwiches are well filled.I like the tea shop although I am normally a coffee drinker. Perhaps there is no pleasing me, but I complain about ' buckets' of coffee in places like Starbucks, but here the cups are just too small. I have always finished my coffee before my food arrives. I don't expect free refills, but I would like them to offer them at a reduced price, as it is quite expensive to buy two cups.

We have always enjoyed our visits to the tea rooms until yesterday, The service was indifferent and the food awful. Never before have I had a tough chicken sandwich. There was no enquiry about whether we were satisfied despite the uneaten food. We just felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave so did not complain but we will not return.

A lovely little cafe with friendly staff and a good menu.I have been here several times now and it is consistently good. Not very cheap, but around what you would expect to pay for a country coffee shop. Quite a wide selection of hot and cold food and some lovely looking cakes. The main building is beautiful with dark wood beams and authentic artwork. The conservatory is not as nice, but offers a nice view of the garden. So you have to choose between a lovely atmosphere or a lovely view.

Very friendly staff, breakfast was hot and yummy. They also catered for a gluten free breakfast for the one Coeliac in the group. Will definitely return.

Thank you!! We visited for the first time and what a lovely little teashop it is. We will be returning all of the waitresses were very kind. We all had lunch, the food was lovely (Jacket Potato and Keish). We then had cake afterwards. The food was delicious, would definitely return for a little coffee & cake with a friend or family.

Had breakfast in this charming little tea shop. What a joy, the staff were lovely and the food fairly priced. If you like home made cakes, then try this if your are in the area. Prices were reasonable and the service very swift

I think some more up-to-date photos would help. These pictures are from when The Angel was in the High St. They are now in the Civic Centre The breakfast is still as good as ever. The service and welcome are good and the food is still excellent Only one slight moan and that would be the price of a cup of coffee: £3.50 for a small cup is too expensive

Excellent in every way, the young staff were really attentive and pleasant, will be going back very soon.

We used to enjoy our outings to the Gladstone, but it has turned into a dirty, smelly and "clicky" place to eat or drink! Instead of being dog friendly it is more like a dog kennel - dogs annoy non-dog owners by licking them etc and sitting on the seating instead of under the tables. The seats and tables are dirty and the whole place is unhygienic - we will not return and will leave it to the arrogant dog owners who think everybody wants to be licked and dribbled on by their pets!
