Great pub for real beer. Plenty of staff. It's nice to sit outside in the courtyard. I have not tried the food.

Great food was served by Katy, very welcoming and friendly. Had a superb sausage and mash and a pint.

A group of 9 of us had Sunday dinner. I had a starter of Baked Brie ( I'm not a fan of Cranberries) but thought id try it. WOW OMG this starter was one of the best starters I've ever had. It worked perfectly well together and it was a party on my tongue. Can't recommend this high enough. Main As we were late in the day one of the options had finished, I asked for something not on the menu, they were more than happy to accommodate. Again a fantastic meal and was really happy. All staff from manager down was excellent and we are already talking about going back for Sunday roast again. Everyone was perfect and 10/10 from me. Thanks Woodies. Jason

My first time at Woodies. It was very busy, very noisy. We were a table of 8, sitting at a long table. The food took an hour, the Yorkshire puddings arrived a little later by Uber because they had run out. I had Sunday lamb roast, the meat was very chewy with a large piece of inedible grissle running through the middle. They were under-staffed but the staff were doing their best.

Been to Woodies several times to watch Ransom, including when having my 50th birthday celebrations there. It's always a lovely venue with a good crowd and atmosphere. Plenty of room to suit whether you want to watch the band close up, sit a bit further back but still watch, or sit in the quieter areas and chat. Bar staff and waiters are friendly and helpful and friends who have eaten there have always said they enjoyed the food. Definitely worth a visit.

Gone downhill over the past years, beer rubbish compared to what it was, no good beer guide for this place anymore. Place was empty all the old customers gone elsewhere, not surprised as the beer is more than twice the price as spoons and is dead later than 9:30, shuts on the dot of 10:45. Burning cheep damp wood, which stinks the place out. I would give it a miss.

I turned up Sunday morning with 10 lads for a meet up, was welcomed in from the cold by Conner, he was very friendly and helpful to the extent that he made our afternoon very special and we will be returning for sure.🐝s

Fantastic food, good value for money, lamb was excellent. Friendly staff. A little quiet, just 2 tables occupied - but on a Tues & after the New Year, we didn't expect more.

Thank you Woodies for hosting our family lunch for my husband's 70th birthday so well, which with 5 young grandchildren, 4 of them under 3, was no mean feat. You organised the room for us perfectly, the food was great and all the staff were very attentive on what turned out to be a busier day for you than expected. Good Sunday roast in early December 2024, for me and my two pre-teen kids. Fantastic to be able to find somewhere that serves a decent roast until early evening. And staff dealt excellently with a very minor problem - which I count as a real positive.

The food was terrible over done, everything was fried and refried chips, both meals, fish n chips and nachos were not eaten.. Please can you get the other chef back

Staff were lovely (and removed service charge) but food was inedible. We ordered nachos and fish and chips and couldn’t eat either. Greasy, overcooked and below parr. My friend also left a review which was responded to rudely and no doubt this will get the same. Doesn’t remove the fact the food was awful. Avoid.

Had a Christmas Sunday lunch today there were 12 of us so we had most of the options available between us.The food was lovely and there was plenty of it.The staff were helpful and the service was good.We will definitely be back again

Good place for a pint and fine pub style food.

Visiting my Sister & Husband for the day, they suggested Woodies in New Malden. We had never been before, but we most certainly will visit again. The Service, atmosphere and food was absolutely wonderful. From the minute we stepped in to the building and greeted by staff, we felt welcomed. The staff were happy, attentive and friendly. The food cooked by their Chef Steffan was clearly homemade, tasty and cooked perfectly. We would highly recommend Woodies.

Great pub with a great atmosphere

We had a celebration for family and friends, around 35 people, and everything was great. Has did a brilliant job organising the tables and having the food ready in time for everyone to eat. The staff is super friendly even with kids running around. And the food was wonderful, only compliments from the whole party. We will all be back!

When we first moved here three years ago we didn’t care for woodies but now it’s one of our go tos. The menu is so good. Absolutely love the lamb shoulder and pie. The toasted potatoes… Damn can’t get enough of those. PROPER GRAVEY!!! Wow so good.

Absolutely fabulous service from Has, and the rest of the team. Catered for mums 100th birthday party on Sunday for 50 guests. Not the first time we’ve used Woodies, but felt they really excelled themselves. They couldn’t do enough for us and the food and service were amazing. I can’t recommend enough and will definitely be visiting again. Thanks again to all the hard working and attentive staff. Everyone enjoyed themselves and were full of praise for the venue.

Warm and welcoming local pub, full of sporting memorabilia, and reasonably priced food and drink - the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

I had a Sunday beef roast the portion were quite large but on my plate where three quite large slices of beef the first two slices were nice and tender but the third slice I couldn't eat it because was very tough and looked if wasn't from the same day

First time visitors recommended by someone who lived locally. We loved it and both had salads, they were excellent and my apple crumble was delicious and not the sugar fest it usually when not homemade ...

Celebrated my birthday here and had drinks here last week also. Both positive experiences 'always'. Staff are always smiley, chatty and at hand to offer a professional service and knowledge on their Ciders, beer's, ales, wines, & spirit's. I can recommend the double Glenfiddich's on the rock's 🧊 😋💯

Booked this place for our work BBQ and didn't disappoint. Found the decoration very interesting wirh loads of sports memorabilia. Great selection of drinks and was very pleased to see they had Guinness 0 as was driving back home. Will deffo come back.

Very nice and chilled atmosphere, especially on a sunny day I'm their outdoor area. Staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, especially to our little pup. Food was sublime, especially for the price. Clearly an old fashioned sports pavillion in it's previous life, it retained this vintage charm whilst remaining suited to modern needs.

Terrible. Racist workers. On March 17th 2024 I visited the pub. The bartender was curt and gave me disgusted looks while serving me. I (a black female) was charged more for the same drink as 2 people with light skin. I ordered the same drink as a friend but in a different flavour and was charged £7.50 while they were charged £6.80. I questioned the bartender about whether it was priced based on how rare the flavour was, and he said 'No, it's not about how rare the flavour is necessarily' and gave me no valid explanation, just saying 'It's what the company that supplies them tells us to put the prices at'. After paying suspiciously, I asked the lady who initially recommended the drink flavour to me how much she paid. She had ordered after me and she paid £6.80 for the EXACT same drink, the same flavour that I got. I'm disappointed in Woodies Freehouse, New Malden and appalled that things like this still happen in 2024.

Steak was amazing, chunky chips were top class. The Mrs had a burger that was a little dry so I would recommend getting a source with it but the flavor was superb.

100% would reccomend for a great meal. Service was spot on and the food was fantastic. We had the steak cook how it was ordered. Roast dinners which were perfect and the kids loved the burger and chips and fish and chips. Deserts were also the best desserts we have had from a resturant in a long time.

We arrived without a booking & as we approached the door the general manager, Sebastian, was holding the door open for us. From that moment on he impressed us so much with his service - nothing was too much, he treated us (again, who hadn’t booked!) like we were the only ones in the restaurant - but he treated all the guests like that. He chatted to us and not only made us feel welcome, but like we were regulars who he’d met many times. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough - while we weren’t regulars, we 100% now will be, thank you Sebastian (Paul & Claire Gill).

Friendly atmosphere, opened on Christmas and boxing days, muddy poes are welcome and a good variety of local beers such as London pride. If you are lucky, the fireplace will be running, which makes this pub more special.

Peter's 70th Birthday... Peter used to work here and he cought up with a now staff member and they swapped recollections of times gone by,very nice.... Celebrations with family. Had a really nice vegetarian choice for the roast dinner,loads of it too. Everyone had a huge roast dinner,lovely drinks and good company and surroundings. Would recommend.

Great place, nicely central but tucked away enough to avoid the chaos. Nice food, atmosphere, and friendly staff. Decent amount of parking. Kid and dog friendly. Well worth having a trip out too.

Friendly staff especially Katie. Was a bit disappointed with the gravy served with the lamb shoulder which I ordered. Serving staff did apologise. As a chef, I taste my sauces before I send them out to guests.

Timeless great place tucked away with wonderful people

One star for the manager who was helpful, but otherwise no other stars because of the attitude of the young bar staff's attitude and actions. They were extremely rude after messing up our order, made an incredibly unplesant expression, accused us of being in the wrong and initially refused to proceed as they would have to go to the manager. The interaction was horrible and felt racist towards me as if I was a customer who couldn't make an order. All in all, the staff ruined my evening and made us appear to be the fool. They had no respect for the customer. I am a regular patron and often tell friends and family, but their attitude has ruined my experience now and potentially moving forwards.

Hidden away gem. Friendly staff and atmosphere

A surprisingly affordable gastro pub hidden away in New Malden/Berrylands. Imbetween playing fields. Seemed quite popular even at midday. Food was very good. However they delivered one of the meals several minutes later than all the others for a party of 6 so loses points for this.

Went on a Thursday lunchtime, so obviously not expecting a buzzing atmosphere, but tasty food and attentive service.

First time visiting from Canada and really enjoyed our time here. Great food, beer, people and atmosphere! Definitely would come back.

Went for lunch, and it was a very pleasant experience. The beef and ale pie was delicious, and the accompanying mash and vegetables (and gravy) spot on. Beautifully presented too. Service just right - attentive but not intrusive. Impressed. Would (probably will!) go again.

We went early one Saturday morning to watch the womens world cup so wasn't very busy at the time. The staff were all very friendly and the food was very nice. We had a pizza which had lots of topping on it so well worth the money

Played gigs there a few times, the atmosphere was lovely and kind and the staff were helpful. The prices of drinks weren’t too bad either. Lovely decoration in there, very unique.

I pop In regularly at about 6 for 1/2 hour or so. Lovely. Staff friendly and efficient. Not sure what happens after that when the unsmiling, monotone, surly shift take over but best to avoid then.

A hidden jewel in New Malden with lovely staff, more than decent food, nice clientele. Great place to have a quick pint or a leisurely meal. Highly recommended!

Quite a remotely placed pub nearby to LSE Sportsground in New Malden. There are quite a few tables outside if it is a nice day too. The drinks prices are quite reasonable for the area also. Worth a visit if you’re in the area as there aren’t many other options and good for a post-match pint of watching cricket at LSE.

Food was excellent and the was hot when came to the table wine was excellent and we're excellent with staff doing a great job and keep happy.

Always a warm welcome and friendly relaxed atmosphere. Food is consistently good , good portions and well priced . A few more vegetarian options would be great but other than that this has become a family go to .

We popped into here as we wanted to grab some food on the way back home from sofa shopping in New Malden and we were not disappointed. Gorgeous wraps, very reasonable price, lovely sitting outside but the interior cannot be missed, especially if you're an AFC Wimbledon fan. The staff were attentive and very sweet to our 2yr old. Would definitely go again.

Woodies is a great little tucked away pub that has lots of character. Nice bunch of locals and if you are an old Kingstonian you're probably likely to bump into old friends at busy times. Had a roast lamb sunday lunch today which could have been a lot better. Presented like a sort of stack with not a lot of lamb on top it was a pass. Presented on a normal plate would have shown the actual lack of meat on the plate. It wasn't the best bit of lamb either. However I have had a lot worse. The beer is good. The staff are great hosts and it's a lovely place to have a beer.

Nice pub with some good beers. Friendly and helpful staff. The roast we had was very poor however, overly salty with some awful dry (probably from frozen) potatos. The whole dish was saturated with thin, watery gravy. £15 per adult for that was bordering offensive.

We were invited by friends who are regulars of Woodies. Went for meal and drinks. It was everything our friends had said. Friendly, inviting, the service was superb and the food was great. Will happily go again and are even thinking about a family Christmas meal there

Sunday Roast Review.... Before i get into the roast we had, Woodies is a great place, great atmosphere and welcoming warm pub... the day food menu is lovely and good value. tried their house lager yesterday which was crisp and had good flavour. Yesterday we went in for a Sunday roast (we review local ones) at £14.95 it is at the high end of prices locally so we were expecting a real feast. Sadly it did not deliver at all.... thin slices of beef looked like pre cooked packaged fodder with zero taste, roast potatoes were fine (but not great) Yorkshire was of the frozen variety and the veg was all undercooked (I couldn't even cut my carrots) overall a fairly dull forgettable roast dinner. They did take one off the bill which was very generous, but overall its a 4.5/10 wouldn't recommend (3 of us had the same meal and all 3 were the same so we did have comparisons) no cauliflower cheese, no extra gravy, if it were a £7.99 roast I wouldn't complain but £15 was a lot to pay for what we got. I think they need to focus on the roast on a Sunday and don't offer other dishes (however my son was very happy with his fish n chips, which i've had before and is amazing) This food did not reflect the general niceness of woodies. definitely go there maybe avoid the roast beef.

Decent drinks selection. Friendly staff. Food has massively improved from a couple of years ago. This pub is full of character. I would definitely recommend
