We ordered a takeaway from here when we were staying at a cottage in solgrave. It took over a hour and a half to be delivered. The driver couldn't find the cottage so I had to stand in the road to collect it. With our order we had got three starters and asked for plenty of mint sauce and onion salad to go with the starters. They gave us one small pot of mint sauce and no onion salad. Every thing was cold. Wast of money. Will use zinga spice when in the area from now on. Very disappointing.

This place needs some work, staff were quite rude, after a small complaint they argued the toss and then ignored us. The inside is terrible & needs a make-over, holes in the walls & looks very unloved. Not a nice atmosphere at all.

Having booked a table for 6 for the Sunday buffet we arrived with 8 but received a warm welcome, were quickly seated and drinks order taken. Sadly we were the only customers in the restaurant and there was no sign of a traditional buffet, but we need not have worried as we were served up with very ample platters of mixed starters (which were great) and asked what selection we would like for our main course. We had two chicken dishes and two lamb dishes (one extra hot) served with rice, sag aloo and naans; more than enough for us, hot and well cooked. The service was friendly and considerate (keeping hot plates away from our young children) and we thoroughly enjoyed out two hour lunch.

We have a takeaway from here, delivered nearly every week.. Last weekend we decided it would be fun to eat in the restaurant with our children 6 and 8. For a Saturday the restaurant was quiet but they were obviously doing a roaring takeaway trade. We ate at one of the best curry houses in the UK in Birmingham a few weeks back and I can honestly say the food we had here was better! So my advice is go, instead of just sitting on the sofa and eating from foil containers... Enjoy the atmosphere, the service and fresh hot curry (-: enjoy!

So this used to be the place to eat 10 years ago and then it got a bit ropey. I am glad to say it has changed and the food is very good indeed. Great taste and the new manager is really making a go of it.It has some way to go in terms of atmosphere / decoration, staff service is vastly improved from our last visit. They are undertaking work to change layout and time will tell if that is a success. The food is very good and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a curry to give it a go. Hopefully it will reach the heights the place once held and get people from Northampton and Banbury driving out to eat here.

We even got a lift to the restaurant by the Manager - and he took us back to our B&B in a neighbouring village when we'd finished! I love this restaurant for many reasons, one being it's a very short walk to it for us. The food is always lovely and staff are friendly and welcoming. Only negative thing is, it's a big restaurant for a village so it's 3/4 empty when ever we've been so it can lack atmosphere! More of the village should use it :)

I've been frequenting the Dynasty for almost a decade and in that time I've encouraged friends and family alike to give this place a whirl. I have yet to meet anyone who has a bad word to say about this place especially on the quality of the food. Yes there are cheaper places to eat but for what you get its definately worth the extra couple of quid. The venue itself is large and despite how good it is rarely does it get full to my amazement! Staff are very helpful and friendly, the food is always brilliantly cooked and you dont have to wait an age to be served. This place is so good I just feel its wasted in a village like Woodford Halse. Definately worth a trip out the Sunday Buffet is good and the Thursday night Banquet is superb value for £11.95. All in all a top Indian restaurant among the very best I've ever eaten at.

Like other reviewers this is our local and so we eat here maybe once a month when we always receive a warm welcome. There is an extensive menu and I heartily agree about the Murgh Mussolam - real depth of flavour and large portions. We like to try one new dish on each visit and so far we have not been dissapointed. The quality of the food is always very good and the staff generally attentive and friendly. In the past the only issue we have had is if you time your visit with heavy demand for take away orders then the wait for food has been rather long. The prices for food and drink are very reasonable and we usually spend around £50.00 for two including wine.

I went with my partner and a group of around 20 people. We arrived on time at 8 for 8.30, and tried to order drinks. Half the people were disappointed that they couldn't have a G&T: no gin. Our meals had been pre-ordered some time in advance to a menu set by the restaurant, so there should have been no problems. We were all served an aperitif around 9pm, the mixed starters arrived around 9.15pm (looking good, we thought) but our main courses didn't arrive until at least 10.15. They were bland in the extreme: all the chicken had obviously been boiled then added to a luridly coloured, fatty red liquid from which the fat was separating. There didn't appear to be any difference in taste between the various dishes: banquet? I think not. There were several other large parties in the restaurant that night, including a pre-wedding group and they all appeared to get served very quickly. Even couples who came in after us were served in advance. We were not served until well after everyone else.We refused our "complimentary dessert" and the organisers from our society complained to the manager. The two organisers were offered a cheap bottle of wine each in compensation - which they left on the table.AVOID AT ALL COSTS

For people that ordered a starter they come out about 9.15pm, then we sat and waited.....one of the ladies that was with us asked one of the waiters about 10.30pm were our food was to be told "Wait, you have only just eaten your starter!!!" About 15mins later the food come out, and well.....i have never seen/tasted food like it, it was cold, they got people's food mixed up and one dish looked like it was a selection of food that had been left on other peoples plates!Anyway, we asked for the bill and surprise, surprise things had been added on what we hadnt had. No, it's not very different but it is friendly. The restaurant has recently changed hands and both the food and service seem to be just as good as ever. The menu is the usual range of curries, baltis and so on with a few different dishes of their own. It's great advantage is that, being in Woodford Halse village, it is very handy for anyone in the area between Banbury and Daventry. We eat there regularly - but then we do live in walking distance. Even if we didn't this would be on our list of places where its are good to eat around here.

We have been coming here for years but on the last few visits the service was intermittent and the food not as good as usual. Tonight was the last straw. Arrived 6:25 and ordered poppadoms promptly. I accept the restaurant was busy but with only two staff serving, there was a lot going out of the kitchen in paper bags with those who had come for a sit down meal left to wait. The starters arrived moderately promptly but the onion bhaji I ordered were the worst I have ever tasted in 41 years off eating curry. Cold and uncooked. We waited for the main course but saw other tables who entered after us served ahead of us. We gave them until 7:45 and left. My wife paid them for what we had eaten but there was neither apology nor recognition of the appalling service. We will not be going there again.,

For over 25 years I have enjoyed Daventry takeaways & The Mancain has never disappointed me. Here are some of the recent dishes sampled in September & October 2024: [8] Spare Ribs Chilli & Salted: Large and small ribs, fall off the bone salty Chinese spiced meat with plenty of sliced onions, spring onions, chopped garlic and spicy sliced red chillies. These are Really VERY GOOD ribs. [54] Chicken with Green Pepper & Black Bean Sauce: Lovely soft chunks of chicken, big chunky mixed peppers and onion petals in a rich, dark, slightly smoky and bitter black bean sauce. LOVELY. [68] Chicken in Oyster Sauce: I really enjoyed the simplicity of flavour with stir-fried big chicken chucks, Chinese leaves, sliced onions & carrot ribbons in a thick, aromatic, garlic & oyster mushroom sauce. [78] Beef in Satay Sauce: Plenty of thinly sliced, perfectly cooked beef, sliced peppers and onions in sweet and spicy hot peanut flavoured sauce. AWESOME. [146] Beef Kung Po: Ample slices of soft beef, onion petals, cashew nuts, peppers, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts in a ferocious hot yet slightly sweet & salty red sauce. Now that's what I Call a KUNG PO! 😋 [9] Curry, Special with Fried Rice: Big chicken chucks, sliced Chinese Roast Pork, King Prawns, ⅓mushrooms & BIG onion petals in a light coloured thick ginger spiced Chinese curry sauce. Simply delicious. 156] Spicy Plain Chow Mein Portion: RAMMED FULL of dry fine egg noodles, occasional Beansprout and big onion slices coated in a fairly dry, very hot and salty curry glaze with a hint of something middle Eastern. AWESOME SPICY DELIGHT. [Portion] Egg Fried Rice: The best egg fried rice. Simply delicious individual grains of golden brown rice without being greasy or clumpy I've ordered online via the website, telephone or just dropped in (Easy Parking). Delivery is charged by a Zone system, is reasonably charged and ON-TIME. I've never had an incorrect order and always freshly prepared, reasonably priced & piping HOT. The staff are always Friendly & Polite. Attention to detail with food quality, aroma and flavour are paramount and the MANCAIN Delivers in spades. Overall EXCELLENT service & food.
