Tried to push the all you can eat menu on us, when we asked for the other menu, they were reluctant. After ordering, they brought all food out at once, starters and mains, stacking it on top of each other on the table. Only when I questioned it did they take some away. Left some of the mains and when asked for the warm, they microwaved them and thought that was ok. Wouldn't be visiting again, not a relaxing meal.

We had the yummiest meal! Everything we ordered was delicious. Good service (it’s really improved since the inappropriate waiter wasn’t there!) Nothing bad to say, we had a very enjoyable evening here.

Tepid undercooked overpriced unimaginative food poorly served, when we tried to complain the waiter hid behind fake ignorance of English .

Our starters didn’t arrive, when it came after asking for it, it was okay. Had ribs & dumplings, the dumplings are small but the ribs were tasty. Our main course was inedible, the chicken wasn’t cooked, was swimming in water & very bland. When we complained we did get offered another meal but the experience put us off. Last year this buffet meal was around £12/£13..this year £25 for hardly any food.

Good food, John the guy serving our table was very polite and helpful which added to a nice overall atmosphere. The food came fairly quickly and mostly tasty.

We visited with a number of business colleagues on a Thursday evening. The place looked pretty busy and the staff were very attentive and provided good service. We ordered a starter to share between 6 of us then ordnance number of mains to share. The food was good and everyone enjoyed what was ordered and the staff were very good too. The place looked a little dated and although I would come again with a group of friends or business colleagues I don’t think it’s somewhere to go for a meal for 2.

Starters were ok but found the main courses to be disappointing and very bland. I think when our main courses arrived we were all left feeding like we had actually ordered the Wong Ting

We visited on the first day the reopened and have no complaints. The food was delicious and they were Covid compliant. The waiting staff were extremely polite and efficient. I can’t wait to return!

Was really looking forward to my Chinese today, I was looking for sweet and sour chicken, mushrooms, milk balls and noodles! Sadly they sent the wong ting!!!!! They almost made me punch a wall😡!!!!!

Mis padres llevaron a mis hijos de 9 y 11 años a comer a este restaurante. Relaxed atmosphere and good food. Ideal for groups, friends or family when coming for the All you can eat option. I'd highly recommend dim-sum, duck and squid. Thanks for looking after us.

The noodles from here are divine (chow mein to die for). A regular "treat" takeaway for me and the family as its quite expensive but super delicious

We called here for a family birthday treat and chose to have the all you can eat banquet. We wasn't dissapointed the food was hot, great quality. We really enjoyed it and went home stuffed. Service was great too. Would definitely revisit.

What a lovely place. Staff where really helpful and attentive. We ate from the All you can for £19, bargain! Food was hot and fresh. Big portions though, personally I would prefer smaller portions. I was full up after 1 main so if smaller portions I could have tried some different dishes which would have been nice. But what I did have was nice. Will def go back.

We visited the restaurant on Friday afternoon and were very disappointed.The meals came out very slow, the plates were cold, we had too keep asking for our food as it was not brought out all together.The spring rolls were cold inside and had to be returned, there was no apology.We have been going to this restaurant for years as it has always been acceptable but we will not be visiting again after that experience.

Just off the Moor and very easy to walk past, this upstairs restaurant is huge. Fantastic choice of food, all served piping hot and totally delicious. The service is very efficient and friendly. Will be back

He frecuentado este restaurante durante 53 años, sí, mi primera visita fue en 1966 cuando operaba bajo el nombre de Golden Dragon. He visitado allí más de 200 veces y, aunque ya no vivo en Sheffield, visito el restaurante siempre que sea posible. Últimamente he notado una reducción en los estándares, pero ha sido aceptable.Hoy fue diferente. As it was very close to our hotel, went here 3 times in 4 days (2 lunches, 1 evening meal) during our stay in Sheffield. They looked after our gluten free requirements and varied some dishes to suit too. We would definitely eat here again when in Sheffield. Just one thing, they need to put the heating on - the dining area was on the chilly side but we did warm up.

Went here midweek, very spacious restaurant, tables not crammed together. Fast service, happy looking staff ( unusual in Chinese restaurants in our experience ). Very substantial mixed starter, crispy duck with pancakes excellent. Sweet & sour dish too sweet for me but beef with peppers very good, veg rice and another veg dish good too. Stella lager at £4 pint a welcome sign whereas most places charge £3 for a small bottle with no draught items. Parking available in multi story but £5 for 2 hours ( sorry Sheffield council, that just puts people off!! ).

4 of us went to the restaurant last night for my husbands birthday. We will NOT be going back!! The service is appalling, the so called management don't care, he just sits at the bar and gave us dirty looks for the rest of the evening because we had complained that the food we received was cold and incorrect.

Service was terrible. Food was put on our table without staff saying what it was. The vegitarian meal HAD CHICKEN in it. Then other tables food was put on our table and staff would NOT listern to us. We were given one free glass of wine AND THAT WAS PUT ON THE WRONG TABLE.

We visited Wong Ting on Wednesday and used a groupon we had bought for a set meal for two. From the minute we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive. Our food was served quickly and every course was delicious - especially the roast duck! We couldn't believe how much food we got as part of the deal and left very full. We are definitely planning to return soon.

We are regular visitors at Wong Ting and usually enjoy the meal and experience good service. We went this evening, Saturday at 18:30 ish and were seated immediately. We ordered from the Buffet menu, our 11 year old daughter was charged as an adult based on her height?!! Our order was taken by a man who basically told us what he would bring to our table, we ordered mixed hors d'oeuvres for 5 and we were served 4 of everything meaning that some of the party went without some parts of the starter. We also asked for all the pork aspects of the dish to be served separately as one of our party is Muslim but this request wasn't granted and the other elements of the starter was contaminated by then pork meaning that more food had to be requested. The duck followed the starter and the small amount of accompanying spring onion and cucumber were dry and wilted and the duck portion was minuscule - serving us less than one pancake each. The main meals were brought out slowly, three dishes were brought out together but no rice was served. After asking 4 different members of staff for our rice, it came out only after all our other mains had been served and and subsequently gone cold during the wait.

This is probably the best value quality dim sum. Good options. Typical Chinese service but waiters seem to care. Dishes taste fresher than the last Sheffield dim sum place. Would come back for casual Sunday dim sum. Not super special but enjoyable.

Had a couple of my friends visit from Scotland this weekend and took them here for some food. We ordered the banquet and had a varied selection of food and all shared. The restaurant and the staff have a certain charm to them, sometimes they can be overly attentive but I come here every couple of months at least

I’ve visited China many times and the food at Wong ting is as good as it gets. The dim sum is fantastic, friendly helpful service and a great atmosphere. Good supermarket next door.

I found various small pieces of chicken in my vegetarian dish, as well as a piece of plastic. The waiter made awkward and uncomfortable conversation while we were trying to eat.

Bad food and poor service! Would not visit again! There are many better and authentic Chinese restaurants in Sheffield.

I went here with my boyfriend after booking on a Friday evening and we definitely went to the right place. There’s an option to try an all you can eat buffet that is cooked fresh when ordered, the portions are smaller but still very reasonable and you can try as many plates as you like - as long as you’re not being ridiculously wasteful, (this is a small business so please don’t abuse this opportunity). We were slightly apprehensive warning us of the “rude” staff - we did not experience this in the slightest. The staff were very polite, very efficient and incredibly welcoming and encouraging, we felt most content. Overall a delightful experience and cannot wait to dine here again! Thank you for having us!

We have visited this restaurant many time before and have enjoyed it, so we booked a table for a joint birthday celebration. There were 11 of us, so we were a little nervous when we arrived and they had no booking for us, but luckily it had been done from a mobile phone and the call was still in the history, so they found us a table.

Called to check if it was open, got told yes til 10.30. He asked what time we would be there told him 9.45. He said no problem. Got there and he said closing and denied all knowledge of phonecall and started rowing with the person who answered the phone. Dont go there

We love this place. Firstly the banquet is great value - half a crispy duck for free too. The decor and ambience is a throwback to the classic Chinese restaurants and service is always excellent. Food is a very high standard especially given the price of the banquet. The Cantonese beef served on a sizzler is my personal favourite. Always leaves me Wonting more!

Recently visited the Wong Ring and had a really good experience. We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and did book ahead. The restaurant was only half full so maybe we did not need to but better to be safe than sorry. Car parking is very limited around the restaurant so be prepared for a short walk. The restaurant is accessed by a fairly steep set of stairs so please be aware that if any of your party has mobility issues this could be a problem.

Have visited this place quite a few times plus with family members. Good food. Good value banquet menu. This time disappointed. Smaller portions but you can order as many as you like. The main downside was it was freezing in the restaurant. Had to to sit with coat on as did many other customers. We did move to sit next to a radiator but still felt the cold. The excuse was “it is a big room to heat”. Might try somewhere else next time.

This restaurant must be breaking the law 're disabled access, a very heavy door and two flights of stairs. Our friend hurt her knee going up the stairs and we had to help her to her seat. She was in terrible pain but ask us to order, whilst organising a lift home. So we five ordered the banquet menu, they said don't order mains till after you have eaten them. Our friend was in so much we had to call an ambulance, 3hr wait ! Her husband came and we all had help her down the many stairs this took over 40 mins as she was in so much pain. We never ordered our mains and was told it was to late anyway. Though they hadn't cooked any mains they made us pay full price with wine £162.50 ! For a few starters ! No apology for the steep stairs or the charge, they were of little help. They need reporting.

For my daughter's 13th birthday she wanted to go to a Chinese restaurant so we booked for Wong Ting.

We were shopping in Sheffield and all the usual places were with too busy or closed between Christmas and New year. We gave this a try and the food was good, service was Ok but need working on. Overall I would recommend and go back.

I visited the Wong Ting a few days ago for my friend's 40th birthday celebrations and it goes without saying that we all had a marvellous time. We started with a selection of dim sum and other starters followed by crispy duck and pancakes, then a selection of dishes from the banquet menu. From start to finish, everything was cooked to perfection and the service was spot on as well. I am pretty sure that all my friends will agree that this was the best £18.95 I have spent for a long time. Will definitely be going back.

Wanted a quick tea before film- enjoyed moderately priced prawn dish, house tofu and egg fried rice. Sons had been for buffet previously and enjoyed range of dishes. Our priority was quickness of service and they certainly brought our dishes quickly. Paid by card- no problem.

Food is fine, authentic. However to not accept card payment is ridiculous in this day and age. I have been before with my family of more than 15 people and we were able to pay by card. On two separate occasions when it was just the two of us they refused card payment.

We don’t visit this restaurant as often as we’d like, as we don’t go into Sheffield city centre very often these days. However, when we do get the chance, the restaurant never fails to deliver.

last night me , my fiancé and my 17 year old son thought that this place was a good idea ..... so so wrong ! For a start the usual all you can eat is now 5 quid more expensive because it’s Christmas!!!! And when I asked this price is until 7th January!! It’s the same menu !!!!!!! Also my son only wanted chips but because me and my missus wanted all you can eat ..... my son had to have all you can eat ! Also the place is racist, I’m a white man with a white family , all the Chinese where a priority over us , I was treated like scum , disgusting

Having heard a couple of bad reviews and not been there for a couple of years I was dubious about going. I couldn’t have been more wrong, the service was 1st class. The food was it’s usual brilliance and if you visit here and leave hungry then you must have a major eating disorder. No complaints at all, a brilliant and delicious experience

We were encouraged to have the all you can eat option. You choose starters and main courses for £21.95 per person. Dishes were brought out with a few extra dishes for us to try something different and we could ask for more if we wanted. Better than the buffet style, as it's all brought to the table for sharing. All the food was well cooked and tasty. You can ask for them to add more chillies if you like spicy food.

Visited yesterday 12th dec for lunch.we have been going to this restaurant for years for lunch and dinner and the buffet menu and was always fantastic.The visit for lunch yesterday the food was vile and tasteless.My wife had chicken chow mein was a plate of over cooked noodles in soy sauce with a few over cooked chicken pieces.The wife complained it was taken away and brought back 5mins later with a bit more chicken on.I had sizzling beef Cantonese style tasted like tomato sauce.Wether the chefs have changed or ownership don’t know been going to this restaurant for over 40yrs through the different owners will never return.

This restaurant isn't the greatest, to be honest. The Service is as if they can't be bothered to help/almost forced. They don't really explain the menu for new people and just tell you 'its a buffet'. The drinks are poor and expensive as well as the food. The food was also greasy and luke warm not hot, it was very poor for what you pay also. Overall, I would highly recommend not going

Wong Ting has long been a firm favourite of ours. It's somewhere where you can enjoy an "all you can eat" Chinese dining experience without having to suffer for the buffet quality food of many of its competitors. We've been visiting and recommending the place for years and rightly so.

We attended here for a family meal to celebrate my son's graduation. We were served by a man (don't know his name) who told us his daughter had attended Durham University, and he lived in Birmingham (you know who you are). He made several personal remarks about my son's size (he is a big lad).....and commented on how 'big' he was on three occasions within 10 minutes of our arrival, that he obviously 'ate alot', and he said 'I don't know why I said that, but when I look at you, that is what I think'! I asked for a bottle of Prosecco, he said 'yes, you look like you drink alot so I will bring you a larger bottle for the same price' We couldn't believe what he was saying. As it turned out, it was NOT Prosecco, but Perry. By the time our meal arrived we had all lost our appetite. After just picking at the starters, we paid the full bill and left. (me in tears). So, whoever you are, think about what you are saying. You ruined a very special day for us. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO YOUR RESTAURANT....EVER!!!!!!!.

Whilst out on business we are here one evening. The restaurant is a little unassuming when you walk up the stairs, but is clean and well presented when you go in further.

Fui a reservar una comida especial de cumpleaños con 25 miembros de la familia y amigos y depositó un depósito sustancial. El tipo con el que hice la reserva me dijo verbalmente que podía cancelar en cualquier momento y recuperar mi dinero. Todo parecía prometedor. . . . . 3 semanas más tarde tuve que cancelar para cancelar debido a circunstancias familiares imprevistas. Vi al mismo tipo que estaba actuando extremadamente ansioso y arrogante cuando pedí un reembolso, ya que el propietario estaba detrás del bar y le decía al chino que NO aceptara devolverme el depósito. Solo me hablaba a través del desafortunado tipo que estaba allí para traducir. Después de mucha "discusión" (a través del tipo con el que reservé al propietario), y hubo una pérdida repentina de memoria y que nunca aceptaron un reembolso completo cuando originalmente hice la reserva. Después de muchas discusiones y angustias, finalmente decidieron devolverme mi dinero menos un 10% (en un momento dado ofrecían cupones en lugar del reembolso prometido, pero para este punto no estaba interesado en comer aquí nunca).

Excellent buffet meat with loads of choices on the menu. Tasty generous portions, absolutely delicious. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff

the worst chaines ever ,never going there even if it is the last restaurant in the world ... expensive quantity are very less can full a child.. the food was the worst and the manger was very rude..... . don't go there

Bueno, ¿qué puedo decir en primer lugar que hace honor a su nombre? No había suficiente comida para alimentar a un gato. Éramos 22 y la cantidad de comida solo nos alimentaría a la mitad. Pedimos salsa barbacoa y conseguimos agridulce. Le pedí a mi nieta una comida separada con salsa de pollo y salsa para barbacoa y ella recibió una salsa agridulce, así que la dejó, y un desagradable camarero me dijo que no le permitían nada de la mesa giratoria. Era muy desagradable y No hay habilidades de personas en absoluto. Esa fue la primera y definitivamente la última vez que iré allí.

Atmosphere was cozy and warm. I would definitely recommend. Had vegetarian food and they agreed to swap chicken for veggies in other dishes

We were there on a Sunday evening, quite early. The menu offered first is not that interesting but we asked for the Chinese menu as another reviewer recommended. Really different dishes. We specially recommend the “wind sheltered stuffed peppers”. Service was very good.

Took friends here who hadn;t bee before. The buffet choices were great especially as they are veggies and we are not. Good selection. Felt a bit rushed though as they were clearing up around us ready for closing. It was only about 9pm

It's a nice place where you walk upstairs, there is a large room. Once we picked the food we must have waited for 45 mins until it came out, it was a week day Monday I think it was and my dish was spicy crispy beef and my mate ordered a thai curry dish, when they came BOTH dishes tasted exactly the same but with different meats no difference whatsoever in the sauce, mine tasted like it probably should have (but tasted better elsewhere) but I did notice my mates sauce looked like mine when he said have a taste of mine it was the exact same taste.

To say the service was terrible is an understatement, we were shown to a table that was not laid ready for eating, no chop sticks, fork, spoon or napkins. The only menu to speak of was a three ply order form that resembled an invoice sheet. The waiter came along and my son asked for a drink, he said "green tea" then shot off, I don't drink tea. Tried getting another waiter/ waitress, my God they are quick, one flashed past then another, not a hope in hell of stopping one. When my son's tea arrived I had the chance of getting a order for a coffee, it came clock cold. When we ordered I tried to ask a couple of question re: the menu to the waitress she shot off, then another came to our table, she told me that she would fetch me a larger menu, she did----- the only thing was what I wanted they didn't have, but hayho never mind I choose the pork dumplings, when it came they did seem a good size the pork inside was very chewy so only ate the dumpling mix. At no time was I offered anything to eat with, bearing in mind as I said we had been sat at a table with nothing on it, so we had to grab napkins and chopsticks off an adjoining table. Came to pay for the meal and drinks, the waitress/ cashier who took the payment never asked if we enjoyed or meal, not a please or thank you was even offered, but having said that you can't speak while stuffing your face with a prepack shop bought cake.

They always bring me the wong ting here, but I don’t mind, it’s always delicious! Highly recommended.

We went there not expecting too much but came away very satisfied. The all you can eat a la carte was very reasonable and the good was tasty and good quality. The staff were friendly and constantly trying to get us to eat more despite it being a set price. Fantastic. Would highly recommend

We met up with a friend here. The place wasn't overly busy. The staff were really friendly. We ordered food at it came out quite quickly as we had order dim sum. The food was nice. The decor could be updated. Would say try this place

Booked a table for 6 people at 5.30 pm, one was an elderly gentleman of 89 years old who does not eat very much at all, We wanted to order the buffet menu for 5 people and allow him to just try a few bits this was not allowed. The staff were rude and very bossy when he tried to sample a bit of manky prawn toast and demanded he did not try it but had to order from the a la carte menu (We actually left the poor over cooked prawn toast for the bin) In order to keep it calm after observing the rude staff talking about us we just said OK charge us for 6 for the buffet they would not even allow us to charge for one at the reduced child's price. We will not be returning for over priced food that in my opinion is just standard with nothing that stood out even the sizzling seafood platter had rubbery squid. Big rip off

Popped into this restaurant for some Seaweed and Prawn Crackers. Inside the door of the restaurant is a huge menu and price list. Please be aware this is not what they charge you upstairs! We paid an extra £2 for what we ordered. I did query this but was told these were the prices even though the huge menu and price list as you enter says differently! Would not get anything from here again.

Just had an excellent family lunch, very relaxing, good service, good hot food and very good value. Will certainly revisit

The restaurant is up a flight of stairs. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. The mixed starters were really good, I wasnt too thrilled with my main dish of chicken in black bean sauce but my daughter's which was the same but with beef was much better. My son in laws crispy beef was excellent. I really enjoyed it there even if my main wasnt up to standard but the decor, friendly staff and the rest of the food was great.

Just looked at latest reviews !! They are all atrocious. Been here several times, what a great place. Just been tonight with friends, they all wanted to cancel due to all the bad reviews. But no, I said, let’s go and see for ourselves. Well !!

Came here with my family for a surprise trip to Sheffield and I've never tried cantonese cuisine before and was pleasantly surprised. Very smiley and great food

Yesterday, my Chinese friend took me to this restaurant, I really like this Chinese food, especially the roast duck is delicious and the service is very good：）

We've used the restaurant a number of times from having lunch when taking our daughter back to the uni to family and friends get together dinner. But this time is by far the worst experience we ever had in a Chinese restaurant for a very long time and has absolutely tested our usual high tolerance for bad food and service.

4 of us visited today service poor food came in delayed portions ,Pork Curry very Fatty Soup Rubbish VERY POOR lunch time menu overpriced
