Have lived in bridlington for 8 years. A few fish shops there And wolsey fisheries are the best fish and chips i have had. They are expensive but I suppose same has everywhere else.

Very average .Portion small, especially chips. Fish was good, sadly the batter greasy. Also not the best price. Could get much better elsewhere.

The staff were all so friendly and chatty, it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The fish was amazing, light crispy batter, the fryer certainly knows what they are doing, melt in your mouth hot fish and no grease. Safe to say they didn’t last long, they were absolutely delicious. I’ll be returning, great portion size, highly recommend Wolsey Fisheries - thank you so much 😊

This Chip shop had people waiting and I inquired about a tray of chips for my grandson, the staff member dressed me down in an aggressive manner, what a horrible agitated person,, i only went there because the queue fishbank was so large, I won't be returning.

Probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The chips were crispy and actually tasted like potatoes, and the fish was chunky and flakey. 10/10! Best in the village, and great value for money!

Fish butty for Friday Lunch - best I’ve had for yonks; fish was cooked to perfection, light and crispy batter and tasty, even the bread roll was better than your average fish shop Fayre. Well done and thanks, oh and a proper Yorkshire Tea brew to boot, grand😊

Called in for fish and chips on my way into the village tonight. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The fish and chips were delicious, hot and not greasy in the slightest. The curry sauce was tasty too. Reasonably priced. Good size portions. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.

Saturday lunchtimes are a must here. The £10 special offer is excellent-huge portion of fish and chips, curry sauce and a bread cake -absolutely spot on. The chips are amazing and the fish is cooked fresh. No grease, just brilliant fish and chips. I’ve been a few times and will return very soon-best fish and chip shop in Sherburn. Amazing value for money.

Guys cheap cooking oil on fish not a sign of the old golden crispy coating we've had for last 20yrs or so peas watered down but you'll get used to it because it's all your gonna get fro. Now on so sad

Been frequenting Wolsey chippy for 20 odd years and tonight's fish and chips were the best tasting ever. I normally don't eat all the chips as there are usually loads but they were so tasty I ate them all, delicious x

staff should have customer service training, Rip off prices. Moody and rude staff. Not worth it. Never again

Been tonight first time in a few years they serve haddock which is the only fish I eat the fish and chips were great really enjoyed would really recommend great food and great staff thank you all no need to travel to Selby now 👍

Haven’t been here for ages due to Covid. The last time would have been when the founder’s son and daughter ran it. We would normally go to the excellent Fat Friar in Wistow but stopped off at Sherburn as we were coming off the A1M en-route to Selby and wanted to save time. ( This was Thursday 9th of June, ‘22 late afternoon to tea time.) While the fish was passable, the chips were laughable - small, dessicated and scratty, with even the larger ones bone dry. ( I suspect they were left over from lunchtime. ) Don’t think we’ll be back.

Been visiting this place for years....usually on a Thursday evening as me and my mate(s) call after visiting Squires with our motorcycles.Went last night (30.6.22) and the food was up to its usual excellent standard,the haddock and batter was perfect and delicious as were the mushy peas.I can't comment on the chips as I don't usually have them.Keep up the good work !

We were regular customers at this fish shop, has really gone downhill. Chewy ends on the fish definetly not up to the standard they were and the chips were hard and dry seams to be left over from the afternoon, curry was watery. Not cheap, prices, but down a long way in quality. Sorry but we will not be returning.

Appears to be a very popular place. I called in on a Friday a couple of weeks ago and queued for about 10 mins, I didn't want full on fish & chips and as I got closer to the to counter I could see two lovely looking fish cakes resting next to the fish under the hot lamp and decided I'd have one of those. My hopes were dashed as when I ordered I was told no fish cakes available and it would be 10mins, presumably the fish cakes were for one of the many telephone orders the ladies behind the counter were talking about, probably "Steve's order". I'll give it another go soon but might avoid Friday

Went to this chippy on the11th June 2021 absolutely shocking chips horrible fish horrible chips where stale and cold well what else well the lady behind the counter didn’t listen I think I was over charge £2.20 for small chips rip off well the sausage was horrible and the peas was horrible total charge for all small horrible chips £2.20 small fish £4.70 large sausage £2.90 small chips £2.20 peas not sure total bill £11.65 rip off dont bother stale horrible food never again first time and last time of visit think he needs to get rid of lady serving she goes on and on and pushes u to order the guy made me feel uncomfortable as he already cooked the fish was made to buy it TAKE NOTE VERY BAD HORRIBLE CHIPPY

Amazing fish and chips and battered sausages, their curry sauce is great too. On certain days (pre-COVID) there would be massive queues to even order that went outside the shop itself. The staff is friendly too.

Just been after it was recommended highly. The fish was fresh and nicely cooked. The chips however were a bit stale and very very salty. Both my husband and I thought the same. We don’t each much salt, and weren’t asked if we wanted any on
