Delicious food, very friendly service. We've had one of the set sharing platters and some of the main dishes and all have been very good. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Not the cheapest Ethiopian in the area but still good value

This is one of my favourite restaurants in London. The food is delicious; everything is fresh and very carefully made. The atmosphere is really calm and welcoming and it's very very good value. I can't recommend Wolkite enough!

Encantador restaurante familiar. Excelente servicio y hospitalidad. Nuestro grupo de 5 fue con la recomendación del propietario: dos menús: uno de verduras y otro de carne. Mucha comida y buena relación calidad-precio. Las raciones eran generosas y cada "plato" era diferente. Solo prefacio que si bien la injera es un lado amargo (un delicioso sabor a limón), muchos de los otros platos, tanto de carne como de verduras, también estaban amargos, así que luchamos para terminar la comida. Pero en general una gran experiencia y muy recomendable.

¡Pedimos un menú fijo que incluía una combinación de platos de carne, queso y verduras y no nos decepcionó! Fue realmente delicioso. Una experiencia cultural tan inmersiva ya que los sabores son muy diferentes a los que estamos acostumbrados. Considerándolo todo, gran experiencia.

Cosy place. We had a set menu for 3. More than enough food. Family style meal. Well flavoured food. Will defo come here again. Easy to get to. Right next to arsenal stadium.

We ate at Wolkite on our daughters recommendation. Took friends who had never eaten Ethiopian food before so were slight concerned with how it would go.We all really enjoyed the meal. The stews were all slightly different, we didn't like them all but that's just a matter of taste. (we order from the set meal, vegetarian, and asked them to make it vegan which they did without a problem).The only thing I was upset with was that the pancake was made of wheat and not Teff. I suppose it's cheaper but if you want to be authentic do it properly.Finished the meal with Ethiopian coffee which was delicious too.Will definitely return.

Really one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while.An attentive, friendly and knowledgeable host who had no qualms recommending dishes and altering set menus to our preference. Lovely family-run place.Food is simply incredible. I've only had Ethiopian twice but I can definitely say the food is now in my top 3 if not my favourite. Fresh, interesting and varied. I recommend a set sharing menu it's the best way to experience it.

Excellent food served with typically great African hospitality. Explosion of flavours. This is the real thing - no airs and graces, what you see is what you get.

Went to the Wolkite before one of the rare Saturday Arsenal games. Three if us got in about 1.30 and the place was empty. Had one of the shared meet/veg dishes for three with injera which left us all full, a couple of beers each and a coffee = £20 a head. Lovely staff.

Having been to a couple of Ethiopian restaurants before, this one is particularly good. Delicious food with a huge variety of flavours. The welcoming and friendly staff were the cherry on the cake. Highly recommended!

Food-wise I am not that well-travelled, I never seem to stray from my comfort zone, however after a trip to the Emirates, I fancied giving something new a try and we popped into Wolkite! Wow, I didn't know what to expect but I was really blown away by the authentic Ethiopian food available and it has prompted me to try new things!

Excellent food,got to taste authentic Ethiopian food and is quite similar to Indian food so that was a bonus.Already been there 4 times and tried many dishes all are wonderful and different.Lots of vegetarian options as well and the owner/host is really nice and helpful.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant. We’ve eaten many times, both in the restaurant and takeaway and tried lots of the dishes - we’ve yet to be disappointed! Would highly recommend, and it’s a lovely family run business with an incredibly friendly and helpful owner. Do visit if you’ve got a chance.

I’m a foody but I’ve never eaten Ethiopian food until now. And this was a fantastic experience. The dishes were distinct and delicious. The atmosphere was laidback. The service engaging - the manager went out of his way to show us videos of bread making, spice sampling and mead tasting...A really lovely informal evening, perfect for ‘sharers’. Thank you!

I used to go regularly to the same restaurant which is located near to where i live. this time i started to search restaurants near to where i live . i found this restaurant on google by searching restaurants near me . i cheeked the reviews on ta. i decide to go and to try the place. i like the food and the service,but the place needs a little bit of decorations.

My partner and I have been regular customers here for several years but the food seems to have got even better recently, which is impressive considering it has always been delicious. They have also expanded their range of Ethiopian beers now and have beers that I'd only tried when I visited Ethiopia. This is the place to go for authentic food and great hospitality.

Wir waren zum Abendessen hier. Platte für zwei, Getränke und ein sehr, sehr netter Kellner. Alles war top, die Preise völlig in Ordnung und das Essen wirklich gut.

Wir sind spontan mit der U-Bahn nach Arsenal gefahren. Voller Neugier, aber auch mit etwas Skepsis, haben wir dann zum ersten Mal äthiopisch gegessen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bei der Auswahl der Speisen beraten. Gegessen haben wir sowohl vegetarisch als auch Fleisch und es war sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Der Inhaber hat ein paar Jahre in Deutschland gelebt, was die Verständigung erleichterte. Also: klare Empfehlung!

Having spend quite some time in Ethiopia getting a taste of that back in 'the West ' that's not as easy as it seems. Worn down of the trip Wolkite was a welcome homey place to spend the evening. The staff is wonderful and the food is exactly as I remembered. A trip down memory lane, a little bit of Ethiopia in London.

It is much better then it seems from the outside on your way to the Arsenal Stadium. Wide choice of dishes with original spices. Friendly staff and quick service. Pay cash!

I been to this restaurant in my way to Arsenal stadium. My expectation was low, but everything becomes more than my expectations. The food,the service and the atmosphere was so great. I can't wait until I went back to try more dishes.

We are locals, therefore super fortunate to live near Wolkite. I wouldn't know what to do if we moved. With that said, it is one of the nicest Ethiopian places I have been too. Perhaps only a trip to Ethiopia would surpass. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant itself has a nice relaxing vibe. But the highlight is certainly the food itself. Healthy, addictive, and taste-expanding. I am basically obsessed with their spices!

Wir haben das Veggie Set für 2 Personen gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden und satt. Sehr leckere Gewürze!! Ist auf jeden Fall mal etwas sehr leckeres anderes als britisches Essen. Die Inhaber waren sehr nett und aufmerksam und haben uns die Gerichte erklärt. Definitiv ein Besuch wert!

Came here with my partner and sister and we absolutely loved it! I had only ever had injara once before and it wasn’t the best, but after Wolkite was recommended to us I’m so happy to have gotten another chance to eat a proper one!

Perfekt! Alle waren super freundlich und offen! Nur zu empfehlen. Der chef war persönlich da und hat sich zeit genommen.

Tan decepcionado con la comida y el servicio. Esperó 45 minutos para un plato de compartir. Fue la comida de peor sabor que he probado y me ha quitado la comida etíope. Un desperdicio de dinero por lo que me fue servido a mí y a mi pareja.

Mi compañero y yo acabamos de tener una comida asesina aquí! Pedimos el plato mixto vegetariano en la Injeera, así como pimientos rellenos y estofado de garbanzos. La comida era increíble! La cerveza etíope fue fantástica! También pedimos qocho, un plato parecido a un pan fermentado del árbol de plátano falso - fue súper picante y deliciosamente sabroso. Los platos de lentejas, verduras, zanahorias, papas y guisantes eran geniales. El hombre que nos sirvió (el dueño) le ofreció a mi novio no vegano un sabor del vino de miel. No podemos esperar a volver para probar un poco de café y más platos. ¡La injeera estaba perfectamente agria! ! ¡Tan bueno! Todo el personal era muy agradable y servicial:) gracias!

I came to this place in my way to arsenal stadium. It was my first time to be this restaurant. We had kitfo and ribs. Both of them are so testy. I will go there to test some of the dishes in the menu.

Where to start, from the moment we arrived the service was beyond poor, no one asked for drinks, 3 people in our group not even asked for what they wanted, when the food finally arrived it was beyond poor. Still no real service after that. The whole thing from start to finish was a farce!

Good food, big portions, you will not stay hungry. For my taste the food was a little too sour. Unfortunately VAT wasn't included in the menu prices, which was an unnecessary surprise.

Wolkite is not a fancy restaurant, rather has the feeling of a small family business with a lot of regulars. It was my first time eating ethiopian and the food was amazing, the portion size was more than a big guy like me could handle and the host was friendly and laid back. Eating with your hands by grabbing food with pieces of injera takes a bit of getting used to, so I must admit I ended up licking my fingers a few times. St. George beer is also pretty good. Overall, an excellent experience, I'd definitely visit again.

We Were in London for a business trip from Holland. While I was visiting Arsenals emirate stadium I saw Wolkite Kitfo Ethiopian restaurant. I never had a chance to Taste Ethiopian dish and wanted to taste it. Guess what ?? I loved the taste and the and the presentation. The staff were very friendly and explained about the menu well before we ordered. I asked for the recommendation and the waiter recommended Mahberawi, a combination all different dishes. It was lovely and the best first time experience. I recommend to try lovely Ethiopian dish at Wolkite restaurant,

Amazing attentive service and good quality, tasty food. I would recommend the outstanding "BOZENA SHIRO" roasted chickpeas with lamb cooked with spices, "GODIN TIBS" ribs of lamb and combination of vegetables, "YETSOM BEYAYNETU" cabbage, carrot, spilt peas, red lentils & string beans. It's not expensive and filling and they have a good range of beers and wines.

Absolutely delicious! This was the first time I've had Ethiopian food. I'm now a fan. We had enormous sour pancakes with a selection of meat and vegetarian dishes on top. My favourite was a yellow vegetarian dish made with split peas. The Tej (Honey wine) is great! There was plenty of choice whether you like meat, fish or prefer a vegetarian diet. The staff are really helpful. So if you haven't had Ethiopian food before, this is a great place to try it. It is also very good value for money and proves you don't need to pay big money to have great food in this city.

We were 17 people as a group. The friendly service combined with the delicious food made us all very satisfied and happy. Value for Money!!!!

It was really good food. The service was also nice and polite. We were there before football match. My wife ordered a lamb meat with rice. I got minced beef meat with injera.

Se siete pronti a mangiare con le mani questo è il posto adatto a voi.. il cibo era ottimo.. ma quello che veramente mi ha reso la serata indimenticabile è stata la cortesia e l’attenzione del gestore. Ci ha suggerito la combinazione di piatti più adatta alle nostre esigenze(vegetariani e non) così come il vino, il tutto con il sorriso sulle labbra. Consigliato!

A ways out of city center, going here is worth it... VERY worth it! Their speciality is kitfo... raw beef. Being new to it I was very scared but it came, I took a bite, and damn. Honestly one of the best meals of my life. Absolutely AMAZING. It has flavors and texture that you can only imagine... the quality of the beef was beyond anything I have ever had. This place is a major contribution to Ethiopian cuisine.

A foodie first for me and certainly some new flavours. A small restaurant not far from the Emirates Stadium in North London. We allowed the restaurant manager pick some suitable dishes, a few vegetarian, a few with meat. The food arrives on an injera, a large sourdough flatbread, with more flatbread on the side. The food can be quite spicy, even compared to India where I’d spent the previous 3 weeks. Lots of flavour and different textures. They also have honey wine, which is worth trying, it comes in small carafes. The local beer is also good. Friendly service, the place was half filled with Ethiopians, which must be a good sign.

The food was great. Vegetarian will be pleased as much as the meat eaters! The service was great and fast! I highly recommend this place

This was our favorite restaurant throughout the year we lived (studied) in London (Islington). We brought friends, family and had our aniversary at this place. The staff is amazing, the food incredibly good (try the lamb ribs, insane) and the environment is very friendly. We must have been here 10 times over the course of 1 year, so its on our top recommended restaurant (for sure).

My first time trying Ethiopian food and it was amazing! really flavoursome and loved using the injera to eat. The honey wine was amazing, definitely recommend! Also the staff are all lovely and really helpful when it comes to ordering something you'll enjoy. A must visit in London

I was very excited to book this place as i am always curious about different cultures and flavours; I booked online and never got a confirmation so i called them and the lady hung up on me lol. We went and anyway there were empty tables; not very welcoming at all. We opted for the chicken wot and vegetarian selection of various dishes over a large round piece of Ethiopian bread.Included was also a separate basket filled with more Ethiopian bread rolled up. There is no cutlery therefore you need the bread to soak up the food and sauces..unfortunately the bread tastes bitter and slightly citrusy which makes it impossible to eat enough to finish the food..after a few pieces both me and my friend had nausea..every single vegetarian option was either bitter or sour and very unpleasant, i forced myself for a while to show my friend that it wasnt that bad, but after a while i also gave up. the chicken wot consisted of a single piece of chicken submerged with thick brown sauce called berbere which wasnt bad, the only problem was finding something to eat it with, once the tiny piece of chicken had been eaten..90% of the food was on the plate when we left and we were still hungry..there is a chance that other Ethiopian restaurants might be better than this, but i am afraid this one put me off Ethiopian food for life and i have no intention of trying more!! With all the delicious choice of restaurants in London there is really no chance i am gonna waste my money again!!

Had never tried Ethiopian food before, had a vegetarian and a lamb dish and both were very excellent. The flavours are delicious and the method of eating is a lot of fun and way more involved. The salad isn’t much too look at but this is more than made up for by the excellent meat and other vegetarian dishes. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to try something now and fun!

I’ve never had Ethiopian food before, and loved the experience of eating using injera as a plate and cutlery all at once! They had a great variety of lentil dishes, as well as greens and we also shared a fantastic lamb curry. The manager also came out to explain each dish to us. Will definitely be bringing friends back here for the experience of sharing food in this way.

We went in to look at some lovely masks and decided to have a bite. My Awazie ribs were very good. A glass of Tej to wash that down as well. I'm going to go back and have the rest of that menu.

Title says it all. Took us 1.2 hours to get there after loong day in botanical gardens, but it was amazing. The host recommendation was on the spot. Mix of veggie dish and a lamb dish with native beer and wine really hit the spot.

We went there on our way to the trampolines. We went there because of high rates on TA. Didnt expect much but It turned out absolutely delicious and we had an amazing time and experience with eating by hands. Would defenitelty come back.

The menu has multiple options for vegan and meat lovers. The staff's are very helpful in explaining the menu specially for those who are new. When it comes to the food it is simply delicious and there is nothing more I can say.

Es un buen lugar escondido que vinimos a aprender a través de unos amigos que les encanta este lugar. Hay unas cuantas opciones vegetarianas en el menú y están bastante sabrosa. El injera era un poco demasiado alto de vinagre así mientras disfrutamos de la cena en general, se necesita un poco más de equilibrio de sabores.

Very welcoming atmosphere with plenty of character. The gentleman who waites on the tables is very accommodating and funny. The food is delicious and sooo filling that one meal could last me the entire day. They also have a good variety of vegan options

I have been here several times and as someone from East Africa who grew up eating Ethiopian food, this is as authentic as it gets. And it does not break the bank at all. A real gem. Took my partner's family here last night and it was their first time eating Ethiopian food and they loved the whole 'eating with your hands and sharing a plate' aspect of the meal. A friend suggested a visit to this small, restaurant near the Arsenal Emirates Stadium. It proved a very good choice. The helpful staff suggested a mixture of dishes to try and kept us well supplied with injera bread. Tibs - a traditional Ethipian dish - was particularly good. This was probably the best Ethiopian food I’ve eaten outside Ethiopia and I also enjoyed the ambience - lots of families eating here and everyone very friendly. Strongly recommended.

Mi marido y yo fuimos allí y pedí las costillas de cordero y estofado de cordero con ensalada y quedamos impresionados con la calidad de la comida. Dos platos para compartir y una ensalada era más que suficiente para nosotros dos, y la verdad, fue uno de los mejores restaurantes en los que hemos estado.

Really flavourful dishes with a good amount of spice and chilli. All the meat and fish was tender and perfectly cooked and the service very friendly and welcoming. Will make it our new go-to Ethiopian place.

We went here this evening for a quick bite to eat and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner was so friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. A really lovely evening and we’ll definitely be going back!

I’m glad I’ve now tried Ethiopian food, it was an interesting experience and unlike anything else I’ve had before. Very friendly people who are on hand to help with the menu and recommend dishes. The lamb dish was very good (I think it was called awazie tibs). It’s all really filling (we hardly made a dent) but you can take your leftovers home.

Nos fuimos a cenar allí ya que siempre he querido probar la cocina de Etiopía y Wolkite tenía el mejor comentarios en la zona. Los dos estábamos muy impresionados con la comida. Gran gusto, perfectamente condimentadas, raciones enormes, cocinado a la perfección. El dueño era muy hospitalario y amable, dispuesto a recomendar platos y nos ayudan a comprender qué es cada plato. Comimos cordero que fue liberado en la boca, verduras y hortalizas que han sido cocinados a la perfección y también intentó Kitfo, que era la estrella del espectáculo. Nos encantó la comida y sin duda volveremos. Para aquellos que no han probado aún, este lugar vale la pena visitar!

Wolkite is great - delicious, interesting food with generous portions. The waiter made some excellent recommendations - worth asking for these as I would not have selected those combinations but they worked really well. Excellent value, too!

Mi pareja y yo a menudo comer aquí y han sido clientes habituales durante tres años - está cerca de nuestra casa, pero me encantaría viajar por la comida. Siempre deliciosas y generosas porciones. A menudo dificultad para terminar mi comida aquí pero si lo pides puede tomar su casa sobras en un contenedor para llevar.

Den ligger tæt på en underground-station, betjeningen var god, og stedet var fyldt med lokale, hvilket understreger madkvaliteten. Hvis man vil prøve en anderledes aftensmad, kan dette helt klart anbefales.

Yo siempre quería probar la cocina de Etiopía. Decidí probarlo con mi amigo, así que el jueves 05. 04. 18. El anfitrión de la encantadora mujer que nos sirvió el mejor para nuestra elección injera ser picante pero no mucho. Tibs (Awazie teníamos) en la sección de cordero, que era magnífico! La injera (pan plano) así luz y agradable textura.

Está un poco alejado de la zona principal, esta pequeña joya de restaurante escondido detrás calles cerca del Arsenal Stadium. La comida era auténticamente Ethioopian cocina, super saludable y fresca. Excelente relación calidad-precio y un muy amable y acogedora bienvenida y servicio. Muy recomendado.
