Wolfox in Mid Sussex

Amazing place!! This was the first time I had visited this place and I will definitely be visiting again. The venue is beautiful, the decor and the staff. The staff are super friendly and the service was efficient. The food was amazing, very tasty.

Booked last minute for breakfast very accommodating, food was delicious, great service from Gleyce very attentive and friendly. Would recommend and return back.

I came here about 3 weeks ago and had a fantastic breakfast. So much so that I rebooked to come today. However, this time the breakfast was mediocre at best. I had an undercooked sausage, undercooked bacon and cold toast. Honestly, it was like eating at a different restaurant. I gave service 3 stars purely because there was a man serving who seemed to want to please customers while everyone else barely looked at you. We pre-booked and then stood for nearly 10 minutes in a relatively quiet restaurant having been told to wait. We won’t be going back unfortunately.

Fantastic food! Quite pricey but worth it for a treat. We were sat at the front of the cafe by the counter, it was very squished and we couldn’t fit everything on the table. The staff making the drinks wouldn’t stop gossiping about the customers, they constantly spoke and judged people that went out, very unprofessional and unnecessary.

The espresso was good and the staff were very friendly. I really enjoyed the aesthetics of the place. I thought that the pastry was stale and a bit dull. However great seating options and very relaxed. I wasn't used to a coffee shop having a server come to your table to take your order for just an espresso and a pastry. Very nice!

Came in today 24/02 towards closing. Flat white was atrocious, just over half full cup. Looked like watered down coffee. Felt like inconveniencing barista due to being nearer closing. High price tag premium coffee shop, but you have to deliver …. Better staff training needed

after a very disappointing visit to Cote, we decided to try Wolfox.The experience was very positive and restored our faith in good customer service. The staff were so friendly, and the food was excellent. We will definitely return :). Just a suggestion - the one toilet was very tatty, and lets down the rest of the establishment, and all the efforts of the staff. A bit of investment and attention required. HQ Management please note.

Nice coffee shop serving excellent food.

A genuinely really nice place to have a coffee, lunch or breakfast. Whether you want an overly complicated coffee or something more basic the staff are lovely, polite and know what they are doing. Without a doubt my favourite coffee shop in Haywards Heath.

Came in here for brunch a couple of weeks ago with a friend, the place was nicely done up for Christmas. Despite how busy it was the staff were lovely and welcoming. I don't know who this older member of staff people are complaining about is, as the only older member of staff I spoke to was charming and came up with the brilliant suggestion of dusting my apple crumble pancakes with cinnamon...delicious! I also ordered the Biscoff Latte 👌👌👌 Yes, we were sitting in an awkward position by the door before I asked to be moved in, but people must understand that staff aren't mind readers and sometimes if you don't ask you don't get. I will be happy to return and see the lovely staff again... hopefully be able to see some more doggies too😊

Service was a little slow but she was on her own. Food was delishious and the atmosphere was great. The poor reviews are surprising. I always enjoy a good brunch here. Its definitely one of the ncoer places for this in Haywards Heath.

The place is overpriced and the standard of service is poor. Dogs yapping everywhere. The menus are filthy, and the place is not very clean.

Just the most shocking experience here. One older member of staff who clearly has been referred to in other reviews was particularly unwelcoming. I was sat down and waited 15 minutes for someone to take my order before I had to go up to the bar to ask. I then waited an additional 45 minutes and saw a group of 3 and 2 order and be served before me, before I went up to pay for my drinks as my food still had not arrived and I had to catch a train. I was offered no apologies at all. It wasn’t even particularly busy and I really wouldn’t have minded if it wasn’t a failure on all fronts. To give credit, the coffee was nice once it arrived, but the experience really did put a dampener on my day and I will avoid here for breakfast in the future, especially when the service at Harts or Flinders is much better.

A brilliant cafe situated on the high street, make sure you pay a visit if you're in Haywards Heath, a short walk from the station so no excuse. Outstanding coffee and a lovely selection of breakfast/brunch/lunch food. Their cakes are to die for, I'm always eager to see if they've made the Guinness cake again!

Absolutely love this place! They are doggie friendly and the decor is cosy and bright. The menu has so many gluten free and dairy free options which is one of the main reasons I love it there. The pancakes were delicious and so good my son didn’t even know they were gluten and dairy free! I’d recommend to all 😋

May have been the worst breakfast I have ever had. Took an hour to come and the place was empty, luke warm coffee, cold beans, cold mushrooms, toast so hard it takes your teeth out, cheap frozen sausage for sure and all for 15 nicker! Never again

We went here for breakfast , 3 adults and a child. The A board outside still showed pancakes with fruit so we thought that would be ideal for the 10 year old with us. However the menu had changed , still pancakes but with apple crumble. I asked the waitress if she could ask the chef if we could just have pancakes and put some Nutella on. She came back and said the chef wasn’t happy to do that! Pathetic considering he was making pancakes anyway! Service was so so slow Not a great experience and wouldn’t return

Came with a couple of friends for lunch and although the decor was lovely and staff friendly, the service was quite awful. The waitress asked me if I ordered when my friends food arrived even though it was her who took the order! I then had to wait for my meal and there wasn’t really an apology. The food was very nice though. We had the farm breakfast which was delicious and the prawns on sour dough. Would go back to try again but not in a rush!

Went for brunch with friends, but we were really disappointed. Decor was nice when we got it so looked promising, however service was incredibly slow and the waitress got our order incorrect. We ordered 2 of the bacon pancakes but when the food started coming out it was 2 Nutella and banana pancakes which no one had ordered so we had to wait even longer. One of our group has a severe nut allergy and it took several attempts to find out if a chocolate twist had any nuts in it. We were told she’d have to go and check the box it came in and so the pastries are not freshly made, rather fresh out a box! Our drinks were finished before our food had even arrived. When the correct food had eventually come out, the pancakes tasted rather floury so weren’t eaten. When it came to paying the bill, it was a very slow process. All in all, we won’t be back.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and food However, our simple breakfast order took around 50 mins to get to us. We waited 45 mins, politely asked for an update. Staff were friendly throughout (especially the guy with long hair) informed us our order ticket had not gone through, their error. So we waited all that time for nothing. 5 mins later, food comes out. It's great, very nice stuff. Assumed this was just a one off mistake. Order bill, that then takes another 10 mins for them to get it to us at a time where it was only us and 4 other tables being served. They gave us a free drink and to their credit did apologise but just thought it was disappointing service. Think they ought to have given us 50% off or something.

Unreliable service but coffee always great. I love the coffee here but the service is glacial both in personally and in speed. It was my new go to but they exhausted my patience. There just seems to be a complete lack of process.

pleasantly surprised with this one! didn’t really have the highest hopes for it as it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s great on the inside! the aesthetic is so gorg!! and the staff are so kind and friendly!! they were really speedy with our drinks and bakes! my partner and i had an iced matcha latte and an iced mocha latte and they were both so delish!! would highly recommend!! we will be going back again for their brunch options!!

This was a nice discovery. We thought that this was only pastries. Nothing further. There is good food and a large variety too. We had breakfast. The eggs were really nice and so were the smoothies. Definitely coming back.

Went in for brunch for a business meeting. Was told they had no eggs. I asked the waiter why they haven't gone to the supermarket to get some. The waiter said the chef told them not to go and get them. Absolutely ridiculous. I used to own a food business and we'd often go to the supermarket to get things if we ran out. The place has definitely gone downhill in the past year. The staff are friendly enough. They also have a wood panelled wall that can induce a migraine if you stare at it for too long. Sadly this is the only reasonable place on this strip. Hart Country Stores which is near by is MUCH nicer.

This place has massively gone down hill. I visited with friends yesterday. It took them 20 minutes to come over to us to order drinks and food. Then we waited another hour for our food to arrive! After 40 minutes I went up to a staff member and asked where our food was and she said there’s still a few tables infront of us who are waiting. She didn’t say how much longer it was going to be. I just wish they said there was an hour wait before we even got seated, we would have gone elsewhere. Food was cold, I ordered scrambled eggs and got given poached eggs. It wasn’t even that busy in there?! It’s the longest I’ve ever had to wait for food bare in mind we only ordered eggs on toast and pancakes. I would save your money and go somewhere else.

Brunch booked for 1pm for 2 of us.My sister was 5 mins late. We ordered 2 biscoff lattes and brunch. Lattes arrived after 20 mins- they were warm with no spoon, so most of the biscoff was stuck at the bottom of the cup. After 45 mins, we asked what had happened to our brunch. We were told there was an order in front of us and ours would be next. We decided to cancel the order. On doing this, we were told that there was only one chef working. The restaurant wasn’t busy and when we asked about this we were told they had been busy before we came in. At no point did the waiter apologise- his attitude was very poor and clearly had no hospitality skills! Communication is key! Someone should have told us it was taking longer than normal to serve food and drinks or spoken to us about this and kept us in the loop. Will not be returning

Food is decent, sadly there's only one staff member who is affable and efficient. I stopped going there as I got tired of dealing with one moody cow in particular. I miss the French guy, I thought he was great. Don't confuse the staff here with cash, it will take all day for them to figure out your change and it'll still be wrong.

On arrival we took a look through the menu, dishes sounded mouthwatering and delicious. After waiting for an hour and 10 mins for our food to arrive we were very disappointed, the greens hash was hard broccoli, burnt onions and overcooked greens totally swamped in tahini. To be fair the staff noticed I didn’t like the food and offered to make me something else but after being there for such a long time, I declined. The staff did not charge me which was excellent but a shame as the menu looks so good but the execution is terrible

The restaurant was ‘fully reserved’ despite being half empty and the tables never filled….but they managed to ‘squeeze’ us in the corner. Despite having add on items on the menu I wasn’t allowed to have only eggs on toast - ‘ we don’t do food like that here’ I was told by the waitress in mourning. I won’t bother with food I told her. One of the four of our party decided to order food (the rest of us were too miffed with the service to date), and for his ‘eggs only for those who have 10k followers on Instagram’ - it took a grand total of 45 minutes to arrive. Delightful. We all went up to pay at the counter. ‘I had an Americano, can I pay please’ I said to the sullen chap, and on hearing this he didn’t look up, said how much it was, held out the machine and said nothing else as I paid and went to leave. ‘Erm, thank you’ I said…to that he still didn’t look up. Nor did the fellow sullen Instagrammers as we walked past…. Perhaps they just don’t like it when you’re post Parkrun?! Didn’t fit the bill. Didn’t have a blow dry. Sorry Wolfox we won’t be back.

Delicious food, the Pancakes and bacon was amazing.

We were shown to our table. We picked up on a very UNFRIENDLY atmosphere from the staff. Weren’t busy indoors but we had to wait 15 mins to be handed our menus. Another 20 mins later went by when we had to summon a waitress. She was half way when she decided to go get her pen and pad. We three ordered hot meals. Mine was stone cold, my son’s and granddaughter’s were bordering on tepid. Dreadful. Needless to say, first and last visit.

Had a lovely experience here. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Great menu and a nice bottle of wine. Nearly everything on the menu was available gluten free and the restaurant is dog friendly!!! What more could you ask for?? 10/10

Very disappointing experience this morning. At 8am very limited selection of pastries and croissants. Had the only muffing available which was stale and tasteless and only had two bites. This used to be really good but I think it has been taken over and very limited. Cappuccino was good.

Unfortunately, this is a review for the pastries/ cakes, etc - in the last month the selection/ quality has disappeared. Where are all the delicious pastries and sweet options there used to be?? 🥹

Lovely cafe, serving organic meals. People book tables but we were fine on Saturday 09:30am. Three of us, one had overnight oats, another had wild hash and I had the English fried breakfast. All three were delicious. Really top class. The service was brilliant and would highly recommend this cafe.

Two of us went for a lunch meeting. Well spaced tables, simple menus and quality of food was great. Menu is Scandinavian names but food very recognisable and well described, we had prawns on sourdough and poached egg and avocado on sourdough; both were fresh, healthy food and tasted great. Didn’t have all the drinks options listed, but many places have supply problems. We were in deep discussion and the waiting staff left us alone but we’re still attentive, they got the balance just right. Overall a good choice for a brunch type meal, I will go again!

I visited with my wife and two daughters on bank holiday monday, late morning. Restaurant was farily quiet- maybe 1/3rd to a half full and we had prebooked. 1st impressions were decent - quite liked the design/decor and feel of the place. Main points that stuck with me though are: 1) Service: Quite friendly / personable. We got seated within a few minutes, although we had to wait easily over 30 mins for food to arrive after ordering. This didn't bother us as we were in no rush, but we were a bit surprised as there was no pressure on the kitchen, 2) Cleanliness: Not an aspect I'd normally comment on, maybe because it should just be a 'given'. However, it seemed obvious that the staff hand't cleaned up either at the end of the day previously or 1st thing that morning. There was ovbious signs of crumbs lying around the floor, half a strawberry under the table (I assume from the same morning to be fair), and it just didn' look particularly clean. The one unisex wc was just manky. Toilet and sink clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while, and the toilet paper had run out with no spares left in the room. Not a great impression - and it makes you wonder what the food prep area is like. 3) Food: Was reasonable, alhtough they had ran out of smoked salmon for the eggs bendict so opted for backon. My daughters had pancakes but didn't finish them as found them to be thick and a bit stodgy - they were certainly very thick and heavy. The food was just 'okay', despite the promising menu. I had seen the mixed reviews before going but wanted to give it a go. I think the place has promise but it doens't feel like a well run business unfortunately. Knowing what I know now, I would have passed and gone elsewhere.

Amazing coffee and healthy food.Good addition to Haywards Heath. The staff is amazing and always welcoming but there are few times now we have been turned down by a male staff (with a French accent - not sure if he is bad cop of the cafe :D) we don't understand why. Every time we walked in his presence he has denied us seats or even coffee in the evening. This is really bewildering as we have been there other times and served coffee at the same time by other lovely staff, also other times the staff has been very accommodating and generous. I am just pointing this out because a staff member is spoiling the overall experience of a nice

Highly disappointing! Unhygienic, bad service and poor quality food. - Our waitress was quite unhygienic in her approach. We noticed her patting a visitor's dog and then serving us food without washing her hands. This made us feel highly uncomfortable eating the food. - We were sitting at a table next to the door and this visitor's dog was moving and jumping very aggressively. We were afraid that the dog's hair might fly over to our food. - The food quality has considerably gone down. The pancakes were some-what hard and not delicious as it used to be. - Also we ordered extra eggs and they didn't get served while later charged on the bill.

I was there twice for breakfast. I love how they are willing to mix order from menu. The rye bread is to die for, warmed up it is so delicious.

I’ve been a several times now for brunch or just coffee and cake and have never been disappointed. Mostly because if there is a minor issue I speak up and they have always been eager to please. They are very accommodating of special dietary requirements eg dairy free. The vegan hollandaise is delicious on Benedict’s (vegan option available) and who can say no to an (oat milk) biscoff latte. The vibe can be laid back which personally I like however the new manager is extremely professional as well as friendly. i must say the previous manager was lovely too!

We booked a table for four people on a Saturday afternoon. The decor was tasteful and the staff were polite and friendly. The menu seemed to be at first glance, a little bit pretentious - sourdough and other bread options, oats, wheat, vegan and gluten free choices all seemed to suggest it was catering for the new generation. However, the food was delicious. Having opted for the brunch menu with two eggs Benedict’s and two of the Wolfox farm breakfast. The food was warm, well presented, tasty and served on warm plates. My only complaint for £12 it would have been nice to have a full local sausage rather than the chipolata: However the portions were satisfactory for a brunch but a few more items included, would have been nice for the price.

Love wolfox venues and coffee. But, the food at Haywards Heath has gone downhill. The prawns (for the prawns and salmon on sourdough) are now watery and taste odd. I can only assume they are fast defrosting them in the microwave. This was the case on two different occasions in February so feel I can no longer eat there. Such a shame as I really enjoyed this last year on a regular basis.

I asked about the biscoff latte. Got told the biscoff latte was "great" to which I ordered. What the waitress left out that its just a normal robust latte with biscoff spread in the cup. Which I would of refused as the spread gives me unpleasant digestive problems... Then I do not know if she heard me either but I did also ask for it to be made with oat milk but it was just ordinary dairy.. thanks I guess Shame it's going to be avoided now..

I have mostly enjoyed my visits here, shall not continue as they no longer serve the Guinness cake, and it may sound petty, but it was one of the best items on the counter. For the most part good sit-in service, but portion sizes are sometimes unsubstantial enough to be as expensive as they are. But once more, the lack of Guinness cake is very disappointing, heightened further, as it could easily be rectified.

My husband and myself visited for breakfast, our baby too but she stayed asleep! 🙌🏼 it’s beautifully decorated, the food was really tasty and just the right amount. We will definitely be back!!

Nice ambience, smoothie was very good, average to poor food- small portions, £9 for 1 slice of toast with hard avocado. Extra £3 for 1 slice of bread, Absolute rip off - wouldn’t be in any rush to return.

My go-to for a morning coffee. I moved to Haywards Heath from Brighton, and missed nice coffee, until Wolfox opened! Do a great brunch, too.

Nice setting but too overpriced in my opinion. 21-12-22 - Tried out Wolfox' take on the Full English and it was delicious. The only issue was it arrived lukewarm which is why I've left the rating at 3 stars.

Pricey but food quality is nice and looks good too. Only downside is staff tend to leave you to your own devises to get a menu and order which is a shame for the price. Nicely decorated and good selection on the menu.

Disappointing, apart from the coffee, which was really good. The food didn't live up to the decor and fancy plating up of the food. Looks great for Instagram, unfortunately the food is average at best. I'd avoid, or have a coffee to go.

Best coffee in town! Also cheaper (+organic and free milk alternatives (Oatly!) which is rare) than the high street stores. Food a bit pricey but worth it. Only reason it's 4/5 stars is that lately it took ages to get food or even a hot drink..

Coffee taken black - bitter and sour ; chicken burger saved the day! Coffee taste deteriorated as I drank it - it got stronger and more nasty

Food and drinks were great and would thoroughly recommend however the service left something to be desired. Drinks took best part of half an hour to be served and over half of the groups food orders were taken incorrectly

Great food, great drinks and dog friendly!

It took a minute to get a menu and drinks but after that everything was smooth. We came in for brunch and ordered the farmhouse. I loved it, everything was fresh and we'll spiced. My favourite were the tomatoes and shrimp and mayo salad. The host was friendly and informative. The price was fair for the quality of the food.

We've been here a couple times now and it's fab. Really lovely staff. Great vibe. * Edited and knocked off a star- sorry Wolfox! Unfortunately it's been a bit of a victim of its own success in that it is always busy, and as a result the waiting staff can't keep up. So not something to try to squeeze into an hour. Best enjoyed at the weekend. Also deffo not very laptop friendly, which is fair enough if you are busy and not wanting people to do their studying there, but like I would really rather they said that and recommended that I head to Costa or something, than be really weird about it. Was an off odd experience at an otherwise super friendly place. But was also the only time I wasn't with friends/a dog so maybe that was why?

Coffee that we had wasn't the best tasting and the cups had no handles, so we so wasnt that easy to drink till they went cold. Food wasn't that warm, I had eggs benedict which wasn't that warm and the eggs were just about cooked, my sons food wasn't very tasty and luke warm, neither of us ate all the food. 25 pound for not a lot of enjoyment.

Poor . waited 15 mins to be served after order taken for coffee while lots of people walked and got served with takeaway coffee straight away. Walked out in the end .
