Wok indo in Leicester

I don't know why this restaurant has such good reviews. The noodles were basically like spaghetti and the black bean sauce was made with bisto. Some of the food was okay, but if you want proper Chinese food you're better off going to a genuine Chinese restaurant

Great food, fast service, and super friendly staff.

I have waited around 40 minutes to get the food. However there were only 3-4 busy tables when I was there. The food was good and staff was friendly but it’s too much time to wait. And this wasn’t a really busy time.

The food is great, very flavourful, Tina always makes you feel welcome, the chef is a friendly guy, great place to eat and chill.

Little smaller than we thought it would be but pleasantly surprised. Good music and an a comfortable decor and atmosphere. The food was fantastic and served piece by piece giving you enough time to serve up but not too much time so that the servings were cold. Pleasant staff and friendly quick service. Spot on would definitely go again and have already recommend

It's a nice place to have food and drinks with friends. It's not crowded on Saturday nights when most of the neighbouring restaurants are crowded with some having queues.

First time i went to Wok Indo. Very tasty food. Clean. The lady Name is Tina, she is very good and friendly person. We will visit again.

I met a group of girls for lunch, and took a egg fried rice&chicken box meal home for my 4yo. She just asked me for more of the nice rice from the green box 😂 bye McD’s, hello Wok Indo!

Absolutely amazing food was blown away by each dish that was served to us. The service was amazing aswell. Tina really took care with our order as my husband has an egg allergy and she went above and beyond to make sure that there was no cross contamination and made the kitchen staff aware of the allergy aswell. She was so understanding and accommodating to his allergy, which was really sweet. Would definitely be going backk not just for the delicious food but also the service. xxx

Went here on Friday the food was disappointing the Hakka noodles were the worst I've tried it wasn't even noodles it was spaghetti tasted really bad to a point I was gagging on every bite. The food was drenched in sauce and everything just tasted like sauce. the salt n pepper chicken was really bland and tasteless overall experience really bad and had food poisoning off it too. Do not waste your time it's not good at all. Dissatisfied and disappointed. Pretty shocking how bad the food actually was.

Came to get lunch. Always love the food but there needs to be more people working to make it faster especially when we have a small lunch time. Gave me such bad sickness WHILE AT WORK. I won’t be coming back followed wok indo from when they had their Belgrave road store. Oh well. Never again.

This is a fusion Small restaurant across from the highcross in Leicester. I walked in and thought I was in a takeaway with seating. What a mistake to make. Immediately Tina came over and seated us and was extremely helpful. The menu was more extensive than I expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food tastes amazing. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more. Thank you for lovely and tasty food.

Went here with great expectations, but was totally disappointed unfortunately. Having tried indo-chinese food for ages, i can say that the food served lacked flavour completely. Tried both the soups, and they were decent to be honest. The garlic chilli chicken starter didn't have any flavour of garlic, and was sweet rather than hot. For the mains, the chicken firecracker with noodles was supposed to be very spicy according to the menu, but again was not spicy. The hakka noodles served along with it did not have any flavour. Not to mention the portion size, everything was surprisingly too small for the price. The staff was not friendly as well, and the plates and cutlery looked unclean, with water marks on it, and not shiny. The only good thing was that the place looks attractive. Unfortunately, i wouldn't recommend this place unless the taste and portion is improved.

Wonderful service and tasty food. We had a sesame allergy problem and workers were so accommodating towards us. Lovely experience and highly recommend for people to come and try their food.

Today is My first visit here , warm welcome also with table service, was got wrong menu to serve to our table, I try to approach the waitress and sort it that was a mistake for another table. Still Waiting for another 20 minutes, and at last its serve. Great taste of their food actually, soup was delicious when i mixed with the chicken fried rice. My advice is should be more staff so no need to wait so much in starvation 😁 i saw quiet busy at lunch time.

Visited on a Saturday night, kept being told the restaurant was understaffed and very busy but less than half the tables were filled. Long wait time to take order and then on food and drinks (not communicated). We had to ask for drinks to be served. Food was ok, didn’t have a great deal of flavour in the sauces, I’d maybe order noodles if I were to do it again. Staff were kind and apologetic, however, constantly coming to the table and apologising and creating a generally stressful atmosphere which was uncomfortable to sit in. We were a little disappointed following such great reviews and hope this was just a one off difficult evening.

We saw the reviews for this place and thought we would give it a try to see for ourselves. The service is good. The two young ladies were attentive and helpful. The food is tasty and my family and I enjoyed it. We're from London so would recommend this place if you are going to Leicester from the capital!

Pre booked and visited on a Friday for a meal with my wife. Started off ok, but it was probably due to being short staffed that the issues started. Only 1 person was serving in the whole restaurant. She started to take our drinks order and then left to clean tables and seat others who had just arrived. She then came back 5 mins later to take the drinks order but another group arrived so she went over to them and then came back a few mins later and asked us to move to another table. At this point I thought if this service was going to continue then it was best to leave and enjoy a meal elsewhere. The owners should help their staff to not be in this situation as it is not fair on them or the customers.

Soo good!! Great food, great customer service. Even tho we had 3 toddlers in our party, they remained super nice and helpful throughout. Highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken.

We walked in not long before closing, they were really accommodating, and sat us down with no fuss. Service was excellent and our waitress was friendly and really helpful. We chose the meal deal 3 courses for £12.50 food came really quickly and was amazing. If you want something slightly different give this place a try will definitely return next time I'm in Leicester.

Fantastic service, food and environment. We came for lunch and had the 3 for £12.50 deal. Our waitress Tina was great and very helpful. The food itself was amazing and cooked fresh whilst we waited. Definitely plan to come again.

My girlfriend and I had a fabulous meal here a couple of weeks ago. The food was excellently prepared and presented and tasted delicious. The hospitality was warm, personable and attentive and certainly made our evening a wonderful experience.

Mick and Sandra poped into the Wok for a mid day lunch. The staff were very welcoming and polite. First thought’s were how clean and tidy it was. The menu was a little different to what are use to, the staff explained in great detail all the dishes available. We both eat all the food we ordered. The flavours were a super balance. The cost for that quality of food won’t break the bank. The Wok will be our favourite place to eat when in town. Many thanks, Mick and Sandra.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our first experience here when we visited, for our recent “day-date”! From the moment walking in to the restaurant, we experienced no faults from the friendly and very attentive staff esp Tina, to the very tasty food that was served fresh. We’d opted for the garlic Mogo, 2x (dry and saucy) chicken Manchurians, chilli paneer, veg Hakka noddles and egg fried rice with our soft drinks and all were deliciously perfect, we even had leftovers that we took home and enjoyed later too! Our fav new Indo-Chinese in Leicester for sure, & we can’t wait to visit again.

My first time coming here, decided to try it out since it was on the tuck. app with cashback. we each went for the 3 plates and a side of the chili salt fries which were delicious and definitely enough for both of us. The mushroom starter was incredible. All menu items were well priced and sounded amazing, will definitely be back to try more

Disappointed to be honest. Ate here this weekend and didn’t rate the food or the experience in the restaurant. Felt as though it was bad value for money all round, for average tasting food and service. The both of us were very surprised at the bill!

2 stars for the person who served us as she was quite welcoming. After that it was pretty downhill in terms of the food. Thankfully we did not order much for the 4 of us, but the quantity and quality of the food is to be questioned. The chicken lettuce things were pretty small quantity, the lettuce was wet - water still dripping off it. The chilly paneer was kinda drowned in some tangy sauce not even spicy. Lollypop chicken - dead hardly any flavour... Hakka noodles were cold and felt like it came out of a microwave that was on full display being used for food coming out of the kitchen. This place has so much room for improvement, will I go back... doubt it... waste of £60 and went to McDonalds to top up...Never again…

A great find in Leicester. All the dishes were tasty. Loved the Veg hot and sour soup. Really friendly staff and a shout out to Tina who helped make it an enjoyable experience.

Amazing place. Firstly the greet we received on entering was super duper, then Tina explained to us how the menu worked. Then the food came there was 4 of us we all had different meals with extras on side. Every meal was fresh and fantastic tasting. Highly recommend a visit to wok Indo.

Great food, and really friendly staff. We ordered • chilli chips (right middle dish) • chicken soy noodles (lower left bowl.) • chicken fried rice (left middle bowl) • chicken hakka noodles (top left bowl) • salt and pepper chicken too. It was all so nice, and we did however over-order, they were happy to oblige with my request of having my food in a box for later. Would come here again. Edit: the music was also amazing, I don't normally pay attention to music but myself and my friend loved it.

First time visiting the restaurant today, the food was AMAZING no exaggeration probably the best in Leicester!! And the customer service was absolutely amazing and they serve alcohol so literally the perfect spot for the bank holiday!!!

Top notch grub at a great price. Love me a good Chinese and this place didn't fail to deliver. Pretty sure its fairly new but it outclasses some of the more popular establishments with ease. Whenever I'm in town now this will be my go too grub.

Just a few words to say how much we enjoyed your Chinese Restaurant in High cross. My Son was celebrating his 36 birthday and he invited us and about quests to join him,we regularly have Chinese at home, I'm not joking when I say it was the Chinese I have had, ever, the meal was really hot and the ingredients were really good quality. Special mention for the superb staff as well they made it a night to remember.Thank you very much,we hope to come back soon.

I ordered spicy rice and chilli tofu stirfry from the a la carte menu, the other diner ordered a box. We both agreed that the food was completely delicious. The dishes tasted fresh and light but very filling, the tofu was beautifully soft with an excellent spicy sweet sauce and there were plenty of lightly cooked fresh veg in the rice. The service was friendly, fast and polite, thanks Tina! Definitely would go here again.

Great food, but a tad expensive and lacking variety

The service was impeccable. The two waitresses were attentive and more than happy to help / assist with menu choices and alterations required to the ingredients. The food was outstanding, super flavourful. I had family visiting from London and they were all amazed by the food.

Large portion was not as big as we thought, we had wok indo twice and enjoyed the food but the order we placed yesterday was disappointing. Has the chef changed? Put us of ordering again.

we came here for lunch as everywhere was super packed. okay okay checked the menu first and everything looked amazing. we were greeted with a smile and shown to our seats. the service was quick and the food was incredible!! will deffo return in the future :)

I ordered 2 x medium veg boxes that were made up of veg. manchurian balls (recommended with manchurian sauce only), indo chinese chips and veg. hakka noodles. I must say that we were very disappointed with the quantity and the taste. The medium boxes were more like small boxes to begin with. The taste was average. The manchurians were not like manchurians at all. It felt as if we were eating something that had been over fried. The taste was odd. The indo chinese chips were not great either. And it gave me a sharp tummy ache the next day too. So not ordering from this place again.

Wokindo's is a chinese and Indian fusion that is cooked with some very flavoursome results. I've enjoyed my visits there and would recommend it to anyone. The food is delicious and the staff are very helpful and friendly, they'll explain whatever you need to know and always makes you as welcome as possible.

Food was good, hot, friendly stuff and very quick. Suitable for parents with baby as well.

Ordered Haaka Noodles, chilli Paneer and saucy chips. Same base sauce so basically tasted the same as each other. A little disappointing not to have different flavours. They were nice, I've had better in Leicester. Probably wouldn't visit again.

Absolutely delicious food. Five stars all the way and highly, highly recommend Wok Indo to all those who love Indo-Chinese food. A group of us 6 vegetarian women went for dinner last night and thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and the ambiance. We were recommended several dishes by the lovely Tina who served us. Tina's recommendations and the number of dishes were absolutely spot on for flavours and portion sizes. We had the delicious aubergine wheels, the lettuce wraps, the veg fried rice, the chilli chips,the Chinese chilli chips and the chilli paneer. I must say everything was cooked to perfection and were all very flavourful. This is by far my favourite restaurant in Leicester and i shall be returning not just for the food but also for the excellent standard of service from Tina and the owner. Thank you!

Portions are small, prices are higher and the taste of the food ordered is different, I was disappointed! Not to their usual standard compared to their previous premises on Belgrave Road. Avoid at all costs!!!

Several visits now most were at Belgrave Road, I’ve found the food to be consistently faultless and on their move to the Highcross was very pleased to see Tina the helpful and efficient waitress had moved with them along with Rakesh the Chef maintaining the wicked quality. Let’s hope it lasts forever.

My 10 year old son went there today and said the food was the best. He had Delicious egg fried rice, mouth watering soup and indo chines chips, he says he can live on it.. excellent service, would highly recommend. Wants to go back already.

Ordered chips and got chicken, imagine if I was vegetarian, or had a phobia of meat.

More variety needed but good food

All I can say is that I visited this place with my Work Colleagues and the service and the food was spectacular, the staff were very helpful and were very caring. The menu was presented very nicely and easy to read, they have such a variety of different foods to try some being nice and hot and spicy to the mild and medium. I had loved it all so much I came back the next day with my Partner and even she had enjoyed the food and we have recommended it to the rest of our friends and family.

Came to this lovely fusion restaurant at Highcross to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Great atmosphere, service (thanks Tina), and most importantly..food! The reviewer favorites such as Salt & Pepper prawns as well as the Aubergine fritters were excellent as were pretty much all the dishes we ordered. Will definitely be back again and have no hesitation in recommending it highly!

Finally found an amazing Indo-Chinese restaurant that reminded us of the delicious indo-chines food we enjoyed growing up in India. Every dish we tried was on the spot in terms of taste and texture. This restaurant is the perfect blend of a pleasant ambience and a taste of street food. Not to forget the friendly staff - One can tell a lot about a place based on the body language of the staff, and everyone we interacted with seem proud and happy working for the restaurant. The place was also extremely clean and hygienic. This will be our go-to place on every visit to Leicester !!
