OK so I ordered absolute basics here. But hey with the basics there's no room for error right.. maybe someone needed to explain that to these guys ordered chips, fried rice with sauce X2. 1 with curry other gravy. Both incredibly nice except there was across both about half a portion of sauce. So I had 2 incredibly dry rice and chips dishes... And dry rice well let's just say wasn't what I ordered.. anyway make your own call just order extra sauce if your getting a tub..

Chips and chicken balls with curry sauce was very tasty.

Ordered for the first and last time, chicken with cashews was bland and ribs were like cardboard! Chips were awful I wouldn’t recommend!

Called for tea time treat after finishing work all food fine hot and delicious and plenty for me,great service will be back some time soon

I’ve ordered twice for a Pacific time so I can get home fro work shower then eat, have I just walk through the door luckily on both accounts and the food is knocking at the door, 1st time ok except mistakes but 2nd time is not on the time is clearly stated on the receipt!!! So it was a warm up for us again 😡😡😡

Visited Wok 88 a couple of times this month (March 2023) first times I ordered the special chow mein food was decent however very small portion compared to the numerous other Chinese takeaways I have used in Middlesbrough. Visited again the following week and ordered special fried rice, again tastes nice enough but very small amount of rice All other Chinese take away's I have used in Middlesbrough fill up the rice container packing it down in Wok 88 they have a bowl which they scoop the rice into and transfer to the takeaway container, they do not tap this down or put more rice in even though there is plenty of room. Shame to lose business through skimping on portion size.

Ordered through app and picked up on time and all ready waiting and hot,so much food on plate we couldn’t eat it all , was very flavoursome and hot and plenty,would recommend to all as so many choices on menu,pleasant staff

Huge selection on the menu. I ordered my food and it was delivered within 15 minutes, all piping hot and freshly cooked. It was delicious. Best Chinese in Middlesbrough can’t fault them!

Wok 88 what you like! …. To be honest mate I’d like some decent food like your pal wok king down the road! , highly disappointing this takeaway . I asked for salt and pepper chicken chips and rice with curry sauce . Rice chips and curry , nice . However the salt and pepper chicken was still frozen in the middle!!!! When I went back to complain I was rudely told to leave the shop and told not to come back!

My brother introduced me to this place a while ago. Never really had any problems. The beef can be hit or miss though depending on what you order. When we have our weekly treat night we come here without fail. Staff and delivery drivers are always amazing too.

We have ordered from here every week for a few years now, but not any longer. Our last order had a fly in it, and when we rang to request a refund they couldn’t have been less interested. Never ordering again. Disgusting.

Never had any trouble with this place, i say one of the best chinese takeaway in middlesbrough. 10 minutes and food os ready and tastes lush, stays piping hot when you pick up, really good prices.

Very bad delivery time. Rang and ordered at 1745, and food was delivered at 1950. Awful phone customer service too, when trying to find out where my food was and why it was taking so long. Will not use again

Love a bit of Salt and Pepper chicken and it's usually hit or miss sometimes. Tried this place a few weeks back and it was great. Good portion and quick delivery. Tried it again tonight and despite being first night of lockdown, probably busy, the food was just as good and delivery just as quick.

Beef Black bean not bad it always the meat never looks like beef

Just had the 2 person meal delivered and it was great. The best chicken and sweetcorn soup I have ever had, you could taste real chicken stock! The ribs were tender, spring rolls tasty and prawn crackers substantial. The Penang curry was new to us and we loved it. Will definitely do again.

Best Chinese Take Away. Real, authentic taste and food is always hot. Reasonable prices and really large portions. Owner is very friendly and kind. They prepare orders on time, no delays. Highly recommended.

Delivery was early but food disappointing and a 'mixed bag'. Food was piping hot though so that was a plus! King prawn egg fu yung was very good, chicken chow mein short on flavour and bean sprouts. Prawn crackers (free on our order over £16) were good. Pineapple fritters (3) were really bad and the worst I've ever had. The pineapple was wafer thin, like one ring had been sliced in three to go between the three fritter portion. 90% batter! .....I left most of it! Banana fritter DID have some banana inside but totally tasteless. Overall, probably wouldn't bother again.

Nice family run Chinese! Graham Electrical solutions An Electrician in Guisborough installed some sockets here and were impressed that improvements are being made.

Very tasty food, also looks fresh. Love their Chow Mein, Chop Suey and Onion Rings and they always give you big portions. In terms of delivery time, so far the food is either very early or slightly late. I normally order 30 min ahead of time to be able to eat together with everyone. I would say still worth the wait.

Food was amazing and the customer service second to none. My delivery was on time and perfectly cooked, the duck is the best in the area. My order was actually missing 3 cans of pop which I was not bothered about I said to sort me the cans out next time I place an order but within 5 minuets they had 3 cans of pop at my door. Fantastic service.

Order here quiet a bit, food is genuinely spot on apart from the chips which can be more crusty than potato.. Curry sauce is a nice sweet flavour rather than heartburn hot. We had one dish sent wrongly and they resent the correct dish straight after we told of the mistake made, couldn't knock them for that.

Food has gone down hill and place looks minging

Have them the odd saturday with my grandad, sort of like tradition, he loves them. Meat is tender, veg is flavourful, great food - wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have used Wok88 regularly, for the last 2 years, and haven't had any reason to complain.

Used them for years, top quality food and fast delivery.

Great food, can be a while for delivery sometimes.

Food was freezing when arrived and took longer than told to arrive by over half hour.

Everyone here enjoyed their meals last night from Wok 88. The king prawns in the egg foo yung were huge and plentiful and the battered chicken was delicious as usual. Delivered earlier than expected thank you! :-D

It stated on the menu that the food was vegetarian, I bought it home and opened up the crispy seaweed to see fish all over the top of it, we called back up and they kept saying it was vegetarian and that vegetarians eat fish and I was extremely disgusted, I would not order from here again considering my order also stated I was allergic to fish. If you have any allergies or certain eating preferences do not eat here they do not care.
