Gorgeous food, had a parmo and chips and they were cooked to perfection! Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, only downside was there didn't seem to be much airflow and it was a sweltering day! Food made it worth it though 😁

Absolutely totally gorgeous food cooked to perfection. Definitely be returning very soon 5🌟 We cane for restaurant week and even though the food is discounted, they dont scrimp on portion sizes or quality.

Haven't dined here recently but we called it for lunch today from the price fix menu. Given our experience with the portion sizes you usually get here we opted for only a main and ordered the braised shin of beef with peppercorn sauce and triple cooked chips. It was every bit as tasty as I remembered, the beef supremely tender, the triple cooked chips frankly in a league of their own in the town centre and the sauce working deliciously well with everything in the meal. The manager was cheerful and welcoming, in summary the oven never seems to disappoint and is pretty much always in the running when we decide to eat out in Middlesbrough.

Not the drivers fault but just eat’s map was taking him to my work address even though my home address was clearly detailed on the order. Maybe an issue with the app? Very odd. Pizza was ok but obvs cold so had to heat up I also found a piece of string on it.. assuming from the pepperoni- well I hope so. A little disappointed if I’m honest as I’ve had some good meals from here before but this has given me the ick !

We visited a couple of weeks ago for Sunday dinner while in the area. When we arrived the place was absolutely packed and very noisy, we were a bit anxious about how the meal would go but we had nothing to worry about. We were promptly seated, our orders were taken not too long after followed by our food and drinks. The Sunday dinner was absolutely delicious, a huge portion! I couldn’t eat it all and a member of staff asked if I wanted to take the rest home with an extra Yorkshire pudding which I thought was a really lovely gesture. I’d visit again when in the area.

Booked a table online for a birthday meal tonight. Received confirmation of the reservation however arrived to be told the kitchen was closed. No apology from staff. Would avoid.

We popped in here for dinner for our anniversary today, we were just looking for a standard pub lunch and were blown away by the quality of food. Absolutely the best restaurant on Teesside and we can't wait to go back. Outstanding all round.

We are regulars here the presentation, wait time, staff, quality. And taste is superb!! Our favourite has to be the Sunday lunch. We have travelled most the uk and always compare to the oven… we have yet to find one that beats it! The amount of beef you get is unreal!

Lively place, serving delicious food, lots of different foods that are only served here, the staff were lovely, friendly and attentive , it was my first visit but a go to for my daughter and granddaughter, definitely recommend if you want something different from the norm!!

If you like discrimination, these are the guys for you! Just been in and apparently the ovens were turned off At 8:45 when it clearly says on the door last order is 9 pm. The only reason They said this was because we were in Work clothes. Thank you, Discriminating the working man! So ended up in Manjaros. The quality of the food isn’t as good but at least they can be bothered. So I’d recommend you to do yourself a favour and go there!

The pizza is delicious 😋, It is the best pizza i have ever had in my life. It tastes incredible and also if u are full but want to eat it later they will box it up for you. The vanilla Ice cream which i unfortunately forgot to take the photo of is amazing u get any choice of sauce and also the drinks not just the drink u get u also get fruit inside which makes it taste more delicious i recommend going to this place for breakfast,lunch,dinner or anytime of the day the service is amazing and i would gladly go there again.

Veg and Beef Curry. Delicious food as always. The beef in particular was gorgeous. Experience let down by the Front of House being slow; drinks arrived after food and the way they cram tables of two side by side. It's just unneccesary and uncomfortable and would really put me off returning, despite the food being lovely.

Food delicious big portions service 2nd to none would highly recommend being back a couple of times since.The waiter was very pleasant.

Parmesan was burnt underneath worst one I've had chips were burnt and cold won't order from here again

First visit to this fresh floral scented well decorated restaurant. Vishnu the manager and front of house service, was very accommodating and showed his professionalism. Katie the waiting staff and her colleagues did a Sterling job. Food was fresh and excellently prepared and presented. Compliment to the Family run business and all their staff. Great meal in a beautiful restaurant. Read some reviews regarding service but I honestly couldn’t complain. Staff were absolutely great. Got all orders correct and checked back a couple of time to see if all was ok. We ordered more drinks and got them quickly. Food we both received was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant and is one of the best places to eat in Middlesbrough.

Omg was the best restaurant I've been to in a while.... so much choice. The Egyptian stew was SO DELICIOUS (I need that recipe so bad). You're not anywhere close to our house, which is a real shame as we would est here every week for sure! Cocktails were bangin' too! Bravo 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽

Went for the first time on Saturday 17th Feb and will be the last time too! A very very unorganised establishment! Table of 12 booked for months in advance and when we arrived there was no table for us even after confirming earlier in the day to make sure! We got ushered to along the bar area which was cluttered with dirty used glasses and told we wouldn't have to wait long. Observing the miserable staff, it was obvious that they had forgot about our table because the guy who looked like the manager, was asking other people dining to move tables so that they could create one for us! One couple refused to move which I don't blame them as it was all a complete mess! And why should they whilst eating their food! After standing there for around 25 minutes, with still no sign of a table ready, boiling hot and fed up of the loud music in the background we all decided to leave! Thankfully a well established restaurant further down the road, with happy staff and a pleasant atmosphere were able to accommodate us straight away! I would have gave this place a 0 stars but google wont allow it! If you want a happy eating experience don't visit 'The Oven', go to Uno Momento's!! Also for the restaurant to reply even though they haven’t read what I put exactly just comes to show how unorganised they are! And also there hasn’t been 6 reviews from our party! I can see 3 but I can get the other 9 to leave the same review if they want as it’s all the truth and would be very fair! Sunday25[2 , arrived 10 mins early for prior booking , queue was out of doors stood for 10-15 mins , then ushered to end of bar where bar staff were passing loaded with drinks , stood 20 .25 mins more with no sign of a table forthcoming , duty manager attitude was terrible , when it was pointed out people were 45 mins late his response,& i quote " you dont have to eat here" , great response from a supposed service professional ....so we left , as did the couple behind us on hearing his response . Rating a big ZERO ,though site makes me flatter them with a 1 , seems they take bookings regardless of when you may get seated & the attitude was disgracefull, never again !

Just be very carefull when you book on a sunday as this is apparently the norm ......cram them in regardless Site won't allow me to give a zero hence a 1

We arrived at 1pm with a reservation we did not get seated until ten minutes later. when we eventually got sat down we were unable to hear each other over the loud music.when the food came out I found a hair in my food and there was also a bug on my brothers plate. once the owner was notified he tried to blow the hair away then didn’t acknowledge or apologise for the bug.they did take the food off the bill but were then told not to return as this wasn’t acceptable.

Visited a few times since first review but on visiting last night got a 1/2 parmo sadly not enjoyable as the recipe seems to have changed and I could taste onions and yet not advertised with onion flavouring I did that enquire and the waitress said that nothing had changed recently but certainly wouldn't get a parmesan again 😕

We went here for a late valentines treat, booked by my boyfriend as a surprise. When we got there the place itself looked lovely, decorated really nice thought we were onto a winner. But boy were we wrong. From the moment we were seated we were rushed! Got given then drinks menu and was asked straight away what we want, when asking for a min he literally came back within a min so we quickly chose. Luckily my glass of wine was very tasty. Same thing happened with the food menu so we went with what we knew. When the starters arrived one was covered in olive oil, which wasn't specified or even mentioned on the menu so we sent it back, they replaced it no problem.. then the mains came out.. the pasta dish was swimming in water and that's all you could taste. The parmo had far too much sauce on and was sickly. After a couple of mouthfuls we put it to the side and looked forward to our dessert. When they cleared the plates we were asked if we wanted it to take out and we kindly said no thank you we really didn't enjoy it. And all hell broke loose. The manager/owner came over and was clearly offended, he brought us our bill which confused us because we still had dessert to go. When asking him about dessert he said no desserts we want you to leave. At that the server we had to start came over and between them blocked off our table so we couldn't move. The owner was towering over my boyfriend trying to intimidate him, telling him to pay for the food and get out. We were so humiliated! Baring in mind there was food being sent back all around us. After asking again why we wernt aloud a dessert he started raising his voice telling us they work too hard for people to waste food, all the while thrusting the card machine into my boyfriends face. Embarrassed was an understatement, he reduced me to tears, so we quickly paid and left. Absolutely shocking behaviour.. he ruined our valentines treat! I wouldn't never ever recommend this place to anyone. No customer should be treat like that. Horrible experience all round.

Absolutely shocking we arrived and got seated and from that moment everything was rushed our starters came out and one was covered in oil so we asked to send it back plus on the menu it does not specify that it comes with oil drizzled over, Then our mains come what was really horrible the pasta was swimming in water and was so soggy i left it also the parmo came out way to much sauce and it tasted like it wasn’t correctly done so we explained we were not happy and then the manger basically forced us out the door even tho we where doing the 3 courses refused us our dessert and hovered over me with the card machine raising his voice when i was explaining i was still going to pay i just wasnt happy with the food Really horrible attitude from them all way to rushed and i highly do not recommend this restaurant, completely ruined our valentines night and made my partner cry. lovely atmosphere, great food although could have done with veg/salad to make it complete. service was very slow. Took forever to take order then a delay with the bill???....ive never been anywhere that delays the bill!. Went as a celbration and they really looked after the birthday girlwith free dessert and cocktail so cant complain too much. It was a sat night and they were packed too.

Difficult to review the food, as our much anticipated staff night out never got to sit at the table we had booked and paid a £55 deposit on, 2 months earlier. We arrived on time to what was essentially an over crowded, understaffed comedy sketch without a script. On arrival we were told our table would be ready in 5/10 minutes which I thought was acceptable. We were ushered to an overcrowded corner of the bar where the dirty glasses from previous customers, covered the entire surface area of said bar (and remained untouched for our entire 30 minute stay) along with a music speaker cranked up so high, our group resorted to lip reading by way of communication. After 15 minutes we politely asked a member of staff the situation and we were told the table is being set as we speak. 10 minutes later I went for a wander to seek this mythical table, and as you’d expect, there was not a seat nor a table without bodies on them. I asked for the manager (who was the chap who told us 5/10 minutes on arrival) and he said it’ll be 10 minutes. I explained he had already said that 25 minutes ago. By this time half of our group had walked out due to a combination of the decibel level, inability to get a drink, sheer claustrophobia and the ineptitude of the situation that was unfolding between their eyes. I went for another wander, only to see the manager and another chap trying to move a poor couple mid meal to make some space for the growing number of cattle that was amassing at this already overcrowded bar area. This was the final straw. They obviously bitten off more than they could chew and just crammed the place. We were stood with all the walk ins at the bar which was unacceptable. When we demanded the deposit back we were told the table was miraculously ready all of a sudden. Too little too late. Shame, because we were going to spend a fortune in there (12 of us). To he honest it seemed like a relief to the staff that we left with our deposit because they were close to sinking. We were left wandering the streets in the rain and walked into a competitor down the road who were equally busy, but were more organised, better laid out and fully in control. We were accommodated professionally and promptly. So in summary : less covers, more space, more staff, prioritise bookings not walk ins. Poor show.

An absolute shambles. We had a table for 12 booked since the end of last year, the booking had also been confirmed by phone on the day and a deposit paid. No table had been reserved for us and there was clearly no space for us. We watched in horror as staff starting asking people to move tables to accommodate us. Over half an hour later we were still standing waiting. Unfortunately we felt our only option was to go elsewhere because the staff were still struggling to make a table up for us. So well done Uno Momento for giving us a fantastic meal and saving our staff night out. Shame on you Oven.

The Oven is my favorite place to eat! Love there braised shin of beef, flat iron steak and the banana pudding 🤤 just Wow! Also hands down the best Sunday dinner in the Northeast 👌 and the staff are always welcoming and lovely. I can not recommend this place enough!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely fantastic service and excellent food music abit to much for me

Food was absolutely unreal and came surprisingly quick considering there were 10 of us. Service was good too. However, even though we had a table booked there was a huge queue outside and we didnt get seated until about quarter to. However I think this was due to the table before us taking 3 hours.

Wow - 6 very happy customers - all the staff were very friendly and provided great service. Got warned about the portion sizes been big, however through caution to the wind and went with a garlic bread with cheese for starter (amazing) and the hot shot parmo (massive). The food was delicious and all of us enjoy various meals. Couple of us took doggy bags, of which I polished off today. P.S. my mocktails were fantastic too. Definitely visit again next time I'm in the Boro.

The food in here is always absolutely delicious. The staff are wonderful, super professional and attentive. Tarek the owner is so kind and considerate. We love coming here, it's our favourite place to eat. Always lots of different cuisines to try, always super fresh and super tasty. Brilliant value too.

Called in for lunch and we both ordered from the prixe fixe menu, I can highly recommend the black pudding to start, very tasty and satisfying. For main I had the flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce and triple cooked chips, this restaurant really excels at the flat iron, each time I've had one here the steak has been extremely tender and a good colour. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming, always a reliable and satisfying choice for a meal out.

Sunday roast was massive! You can choose regular for £17 or large for £20. I would say 1 regular size would be almost enough for 2 people. Can't even imagine how large looks like! Meat was juicy, gravy was very nice, plus 4 or 5 types of vegetables, extra sause. Even our baby got taken care of ad got a plate of mash potatoes with gravy.

This is a perfect place for all type of dining, I haven’t had food this good in Middlesbrough In such a long time or ever actually! The food was quick but full of flavour the staff were friendly quick. The manger I believe who makes the best curry’s was lovely and so person centred with his customers we will definitely be back!

Orded a large parmesan for delivery no way was it a large was only the size of a medium and only a few chips and the salad was ridiculous i paid over £20 never again

I don't often write reviews but this was an exception. We went here for a family meal which turned out to be a disaster. Service was extremely poor and they just wanted to rush us the entire time. Staff acted like they did not know what was going on and felt like they were all over the place. The food was cold and tasteless and even after complaining the staff just shrugged it off. In the end we just wanted to leave and not return. Awful place and would advise to avoid.

I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. As other reviews have also mentioned, the management have little regard for its customers or staff. If in the unfortunate event you did find anything wrong with the meal or anything else then prepare for an altercation as they feel they are never at fault.

*Be careful * do your research before trying this restaurant… I don’t even know how this place is still open ! Been there with my family and didn’t have a nice experience at all . Firstly , I lost my appetite when I saw the owner touching the meat with hands 🤮I didn’t even touch my plate after that . He just walked around the restaurant with a angry face without helping any of the staff but just giving orders and We all felt very uncomfortable. Staff looks like they are being forced to work and a Girl that seems to be in charge didn’t even understand English. Definitely not worth it spending time and money in this place . This man really needs to be humbled , I guess business and leadership is not for everyone . Such a shame! “Just saw someone replied pretending its a false review , feel bad that you actually have time trying to deny our own experience like it never happened , while in the other side you could take it as a criticism to really get better , but definitely just confirmed me another time that we won’t ever be coming back . “

Food was nice, worth the money. Most of the staff really friendly. One or two that didn't seem like they wanted to be there, we ordered 2 ice Creams which took around 20 mins to come out and the weight practically threw them at my family members other than that great night.

We have eaten here a lot but tonight the service and food was poor. Husband's food arrived without vegetables. My pasta dish was bland and tasteless when I fed this back I was told 'well we buy it in so can't take responsibility for how it tastes' . Service was very slow and poor considering how empty it was.

Nice place quick service, beer shandy was a bit bland, I had the full hotshot Parmo it was nice but not the best Parmo I’ve had was actually quite small for a full Parmo probs one of the hottest I’ve had. Flat white coffee was nice and tasty tho I found the mug difficult to hold as the finger hold on the mug was just big enough for a child’s finger. Over all first time visit was ok O would go again but try a different dish.

I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying my Sunday lunch at Oven today. The service was second to none. Brilliant drinks selection and the food was superb. The best Sunday lunch on Teesside.

Had a great experience here. Ordered the chicken parmos, koshary and curry. All came out quickly, staff were very helpful and friendly. Above all the food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

We have booked a table for many people, the food in general was tasteless, none of us liked the mean dishes, some liked their desserts only, in all was a disgusting experience, never again, stay away Not to mention was really warm and noisy

Would love to give this 5 stars as have been several times and the food is always gorgeous. However the amount of tables when we went this Sunday was ridiculous. There was far too many with small gaps between each one. You couldn’t hear yourself think or even talk to anyone you were with due to how loud it was and overcrowded. The service was good and food came quickly but the amount of people in the restaurant put me off wanting to go again. When trying to get to tables you were pretty much rubbing up against peoples table while they were trying to eat. People were loitering in the entrance too while waiting for a table as there is no where else to wait making going to the bar to pay and leaving the building stressful trying to fight through people. It’s a shame as this is obviously to make as much money as possible but it was not an enjoyable experience at all.

Were in for 430 out by 5:15 that was for starters and main... the service was very pushy pushy wanting you out the door which is a shame. While we were eating bring through rubbish past tables where people are eating isn't a very good thing to do

The best Sunday dinner I've ever had

First time here today, and we we all left hugely disappointed. Service was horrendous, constantly hassled if we had finished yet the plates were full and the bairn was clearly still eating. 7 times this happened!!! The food is massively overrated £22 for a lamb dinner that was drenched in gravy and way too rich i couldn't eat it, and the beef was so dry. Never again

Called in for lunch yesterday, reception was friendly and even though the restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived the service was efficient. Ordered from the 2 course menu, I had the black pudding to start which was delicious, then for main I had the flat iron steak. The steak is really nice and tender, perfectly done for a flat iron and I think you'd need to go somewhere considerably pricier to beat it. The triple cooked chips were as excellent as always and come highly recommended.

We were visiting our son at University and having seen this restaurant on an earlier visit decided to try it out. We had to queue outside for a short while and had not booked but still got a table. From ordering to food being served was only 5-10 minutes. We all ate the beef Sunday dinner and it was amazing. Well worth the money and would recommend anyone to eat here. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I'd really like to give 3.5 stars for this review as the food was very good. However the service was a bit iffy. We got seated and our drinks order taken. five minutes later a couple sat at the table next to us and gave their drinks order. Their drinks appeared within minutes - we were still waiting for ours. In fact our starters arrived before our drinks. After getting the attention of a waitress and querying where our drinks were, they finally arrived. Starters were lovely - I had potato skins and my friend had pate. Mains then arrived - chicken tenders and chips for me, carbonara for my friend. During the meal my friend asked a waitress for a glass of water. While waiting for this to turn up I asked a waitress for a coke. She responded 'I don't do drinks - I'll find someone who does'! Ten minutes later, my friend was still waiting for her water and I was still waiting for someone to take my coke order. Yes, it was busy but there seemed to be lots of staff. As I said before the food was very good but some of the young waitresses seemed a bit stroppy and I wasn't impressed by the service. I'd give it another try and see if it improves.

Been here a few times and the food is normally quite nice but the portion sizes are getting so small, ordered half a hot shot Parmo n thought they had put a kids portion Parmo on my plate, food was nice enough but for £14 I'd expect a better portion size especially compared to other places in the same area that do the same dishes

We visited The Oven on Saturday for a family meal to celebrate my parents 60th Anniversary. We were a larger group and the service was fantastic. Everyone really enjoyed their food, all meals were great quality, really well presented and again, service was excellent. The staff were great accommodating balloons, cake and multiple requests for drinks and coffees. Thank you for a great evening and fantastic food. Highly recommended!

We booked our table for Saturday 7th October arrived early and shown straight to our table, service was great from the moment we walked in. Food was lovely. We didn’t have to wait long between our 3 course meal
