Saw they were frying new potoes so we thought we would have a bag for tea. Wish I hadn't of bothered spending £2.80 they were all dried up and hard . Hard to eat so we bined them. Won't be going there again.

Go every week for Chinese meal,gorgeous.

My local Chinese/chippy. Its good here. Staff always make me feel welcome 👍 Food is hot and fresh. Been going here for a long time so that says it all ☺

Been going downhill for years but now beyond help! Crispy beef too vinegary and hot: chicken chow mein tasteless: Shrimp rice ok: curry sauce just hot: salt and pepper wings bland and dressing too hot. And it's very expensive. After about 40 years I have decided never to buy from there again. Shame.

An amazing hidden gem of a restaurant. You need to book otherwise it won’t be open! It can feel like your own private room… food is amazing and the staff are so attentive.

Great food, just a shame they don't offer delivery but it's worth collecting.

Young staff members are constantly talking about personal outside work stuff, which would not be a problem if they talked while serving. However they don't they can clearly see there is a que but wait to Finnish their conversation before asking if anyone needs serving. Shocking really! But that's the service received every time. It is such a shame that the area does not have a second chip shop to choose from, if there was they may give better service? But it's the locals that suffer. We have no option to accept this as there is no other chip shop locally to switch too. It's obvious that this shop knows this and does not feel their service needs to improve. If they felt a lack of sales by us inderectly having a second option shop to use I bet this would have stopped a long time ago.

Freshly cooked chips, very hard a bitty. No salt and vinegar as I asked for. Also ordered a sausage and a scallop and ended up with a sausage and fish cake. No wonder I got charged more. Maybe they should listen to what customer is asking for.

Just had a birthday celebration in the wise eater restaurant the service was great and the food excellent and plentiful many thanks wise eater

I went in to order a takeaway - 2 x bbq spare ribs and 2 x SMALL egg fried rice. I was charged £25.50!!! I was also given the tiniest bag of prawn crackers imaginable. I was in a hurry and only really questioned it later and now I’m angry. I hate being ripped off. I was also reminded how hostile the woman serving me was, she was rude for no apparent reason. utterly bizarre.

Always decent. Prices are a little high but suppose that the pandemic for you.

First time visitor for all you can eat buffet. Worth the money. Everything we ate was very tasty presented in a lovely way. Loads of choose on starters and mains. Not much pudding choice but was too full for for pudding. Good portion size and can keep ordering until your full. You can only order mains once everyone in the party was done with starters and cant go back. Drinks where pricy 1 pint of coke £4.80. Enjoyed the experience will return

People be very carefull if what you order, I've ordered hot spicy chips (nice) a large carton of curry sauce (nice) and Singapore fried rice with no seafood, well when I got home and opened it I had prawns in my fried rice, and somehow I've ended up with a mini fish, I'm sorry but if I'm allergic to seafood why would I order a mini fish, but when I rng to complain I was passed on to a member of staff, only to hear the argument in the back ground saying that's what I ordered, I'm sorry but if I'm allergic why would I order, and to pass responsibility on to a junior member of staff, is well pathetic, stay clear guys if your allergic to seafood, oh yeah thanks for making me ill, will see you face to face very soon

You can get Chinese food at lunchtime, aswell as the usual fare - Always good food and great service..👍

Just had another delicious chippy takeaway from here! Have to say we try the fish and chips in Devon and Cornwall throughout the summer and still not a patch on what we had tonight. Beautiful fresh fish with thick white flakes and perfect chips big portion. Had kebab also and was lovely. Well done! Keep it up.

Aproximadamente 26 de nosotros fuimos a comer aquí y la comida era muy buena y seguía llegando. Todos pedimos diferentes y la variedad era increíble.

...and consequently eat far to much and far to often. Both the fish and chips and the Chinese food are delicious. Great quality food, cooked with care. Best in the area.

Had another fantastic night at the wise eater. Food was amazing ,very tasty and hot ...drinks flowing nicely and the service was excellent. Jean really knows how to look after her guest.

waited 40minutes for a kebab...another time ordered chinese get home and completely wrong to what we ordered will never use again... someone needs to open decent takeawy in selston

Fantastic food, freshly cooked, all top quality at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and very efficient. The menu had something to suit all tastes, definitely will be back.

It's a small restaurant but the food is excellent it is ideal for a family get together or a meal amongst friend's we had very good service. A good time was had by all

Waste of my money!!! Supposed to be a treat and turned out a total flop! Inedible chips, warmed up possibly from night befire! Fish batter soggy. Rude belligerent staff. Talking to each other ignoring customers. Curt reply to my query about prices of Kebabs. No please or thankyou from server. Food poor standard and staff to match! Will drive to Brinsley instead.

1st time visiting tonight 25/10/18 with my partner food was lovely we really enjoyed it we had the whole place to ourselves which was nice the waitress serving was so so nice a real credit to your company i forgot to take her name we will book again but want to come when she is on a really genuine friendly lady couldnt do enough for us 😘

Being a local gave takeaway a second chance after previous bad experience. But sadly let down again ! My advice to you is to check your order thoroughly before leaving takeaway , or you can get home to a hungry family like I did and find your order resembles nothing like what you asked for , ring up to be told to bring it back to be swapped , with no offer of anyone delivering corrected order as a gesture of good will / customer service. Great ! Went back , correct order waiting on counter , no thanks , refund please , won't be chancing a third time. Thankyou.

Great chippy in Selston , i recommend the scampi , quick service with friendly helpful staff , keep up the good work!!

Please avoid this place, it was my first time but never again! If you like grey fish & soggy batter it’s may be for you, the best bit was the mushy peas. Very expensive poor quality food!

We went here for a family birthday meal for my son who recommended that he thought it’s a good little Chinese at a reasonable price. Well it was, we had great service the food was very good and at a very reasonable price. The food was served hot and tasty.

La comida siempre está caliente y fresca. Sin embargo, somos una familia de 4, para mí las fichas grandes deberían poder dividirse entre nosotros. Que en otras chippy locales es. Aquí, sin embargo, necesitamos 2 grandes porciones entre nosotros. Haciendo que esta sea una relación costo-calidad más costosa, si cambian las porciones / precios, estaría aquí más a menudo. Tal como está, preferiría irme a otro lado.

Un buen lugar para comer si te gusta la comida china. 16 para todo lo que puedas comer, puedes pedir todo lo que quieras desde el principio, luego puedes pedir desde la fuente y seguir teniendo diferentes platos.

Me encanta este lugar las costillas son, de lejos, el mejor que he tenido de costillas de un chino.

Normalmente un jueves por la noche, pero fue la comida de graduación y lo runners un lugar bien elegido que era. La camarera fue muy atenta, sugerir y recomendar los platos pedidos. La comida era sin parar, comienza deben de haber tenido más de 10 y lo mismo con la red, altamente recomendado y definitivamente volveré de nuevo.

Went for a takeaway as my partner does not like prawns we ask for egg fried rice and got the special rice with prawns well you guest it went in the bin not been back well not for Chinese it's the only takeaway in Selston

The food here is not as good as other chip shops in the area, Iv have been visiting this place for the best part of 27 years and the quality has slowly got worse over the course of time. Back in the day it was the best chippy going and I would offer drive from Mansfield especially to eat from there, now I live in back in Selston I tend to drive outside the village for a chip shop. The price's you pay exceed the amount you pay at fortuna in Annesley and there quality and portions are better than what wise eater offer. If wise eaters prices were to reflect other chip shops in the area then I would go there. The Chinese is mediocre and you get one delivered to Selston from shun hing in Kirkby which far supersedes Here. If things improved I would reconsider my review.

Been here with a large family party 12+ around 6 times now, great food, fast service. Staff excellent with small children We will be back again

Went midweek for a friend's birthday. The food and service was excellent, they were happy to cook a dish not listed on the menu as part of re "all you can eat" meal. I have never eaten Chinese food before where they are so generous with the portions of meat. The spare ribs and chicken satay were the best I've ever eaten.It's a shame that apart from us, the place was empty - we need to spread the word!!

I have been here several times with family and friends and I've loved it every time. The food is great and the service is brilliant. We love the karaoke at the end of the night.

The Chinese takeaway here has been well established for over 20 years and it's one of the best in the County. They opened up a restaurant a few years ago and it is always empty??The food is excellent. 'Eat-as-much-as-you-want' menu for £15pp is excellent value for money. Or you can choose off the full menu, but why would you? They will even make smaller portions if you want to try everything!!The food is gorgeous - even better than the take away and I wouldn't have thought that possible!

Whether using the restaurant or chip shop/chinese take away, the staff don't know the first thing about customer service. The food is great, no problem with that, but the staff, and the owner look and treat the customers like they have come in to steal anything not nailed down!!! No smile, no thank you, no feeling that you are a valued customer.Worth the ten minute drive to Fortuna at Annesley. Food the same, and same price, but a smile makes all the difference.

This restaurant is basically an add on to a busy chip shop, so the smells of fish and chips pervade the restaurant bit, and so does the noise. The decor is OK, but the service is again like an add-on to the chip shop and not that professional. The food is standard take away fare, just in the back of the chippy. The black bean, garlic and king prawn was really quite a small portion, and had watery black bean sauce. The noodles were again standard take away fare.

This is a relatively new restaurant behind a takeaway. The interior is really quite nice, especially the chandeliers, but nearly everything else was disappointing. The "all you can eat" menu is priced at £15 but the selection is *extremely* limited so we went a la carte instead. Starter portions are quite small and not great value (e.g. £4 for 2 satay skewers, £7.50 for supposedly large but really quite small serving of crispy lamb), mains are slightly better value although often padded out with veg to compensate for the tiny meat content (e.g. orange duck). The worst thing was that everything was so greasy! Even the hoisin had an oil slick on top. Starters especially were tasteless and oily, and there were a few service issues (having to stack our own plates, waiting ages for the drinks order to be taken, food waiting around on the side before service). Drinks are a good price though (£1.50 for soft drinks) and the place looks nice. However the overwhelming theme of the meal was unfortuately grease, and I'm not sure I'll be back.

Recently visited for a family birthday and opted for the "choose as much as you like from set list menu".Although not the full a la carte selection it was wide ranging and pretty much had the Cantonese gamut covered, we also found that if asked nicely they would happily cook the odd dish that wasn't on the set menu at no extra cost eg salt n pepper ribs as well as barbecue. We also had one vegetarian diner in the party and a full vegetarian selection was happily made available separately.The service was friendly and intuitive, chosen items were brought freshly cooked to the table in perfectly timed stages with polite attentiveness but not fuss.The food was well prepared, cooked and presented...and very tasty!Will return without a doubt.
