New Hong Kong in Ashfield

Should’ve checked your ratings on google as apposed to just eat because I personally wouldn’t have ordered from here otherwise. Spring rolls look and tasted burnt. Ordered vegetarian items but was given prawn crackers??? Seaweed was good but you can’t really mess this up. Ordered in advance. Personally not nearly as flavourful as seapearl. Should have just waited for seapearl to open and go after work because they’ve never let us down with food.

Last night one item was missing and one dish was completely wrong, and it was all so tasteless, very strange, the black-bean sauce was like a rubbish gravy. Never had a bad takeaway from here until last night, wont be wasting any more money here.

My family regularly has takeaway from here. The food is lovely every time. The staff are friendly and the premises look clean (I’m very fussy about this). However, It is getting very expensive now with the menu price increases.

My Dad always has ordered here for months, since changing hands he has had food poisoning!!!! do not order here!!

Just had our first take out since new management have taken over. UTTER CRAP!!!! The chicken fried rice was dry ,tasteless,and had about 3 peas in total. It was also supposed to be a large and was missing about a third of what we used to get with the old management. Pancake roll again smaller than usual and not very warm. The so called pineapple fritters were actually pineapple chunks also cold and a total joke .(See pic) The so called curry was so salty it was not edible . I can honestly say this was the worst Chinese take away I have ever had in my life. Go there at your own risk. A total waste of £13 Absolutely gutted as this was our favourite take away. Will never go back now!

It is one of the best Oriental take aways within miles. Specially what makes it the best is the people working. Wai , Louise, and rest all are very patient and willing to help you. I am a regular here and I have different kind of requests every time. And Wai nails it to perfection every single time without getting irritated. I am very happy that I found this place. Most of them know me by name now. 😂 You guys are doing a wonderful job. Keep it up. God bless.

Just had pork curry and chips and pancake roll and it was beautiful, iv never seen pancake rolls as big as these ones plus free prawn crackers .Tried loads of Chinese and this is the best...

Stone cold food after waiting an hour and a half. Soggy cold chips. Made no attempt to resolve the issue. We spend a lot of money regularly on Take away here but never again. Disgusting. The comment below by the owner or staff is a Complete LIE my partner said he would be bringing the food back as it was inedible. He never threatened to put anything through the window at all .. I'd like proof of this ?? He has complained about the food being cold before. We waited an hour and a half for the food. It had obviously been out of the shop for that long ! How sad that you have to lie. We didn't want the money back or replaced , but an Apology would have been expected. Get some Customer service and learn how to treat people. Nasty liar's.

EVERYTHING tasted of salt. It all looked over done. Salt and peppered chicken just tasted of salt. The omelette was just salty I will never ever order from here again and I wouldn’t of in the first place if ruby house wasn’t shut.

Ordered tonight after our usual place was closed. Absolutely beautiful! It’s fair to say it’s better than our usual place and we have now decided to stick with yourselves, the portion sizes are bigger than what we’re used to and the quality was so much nicer. We’re very pleasantly surprised! You just gained 2 new customers who after ordering elsewhere for the last 7 years, are very happy! not one complaint! Thankyou!

Can't fault the food and the value. Shame it's such a long wait when you go to collect and the poor lad out front gets confused easily due to the constant interruptions.

Very disappointed, Ordered Chinese at 5:30 Sunday tasted like it was warmed up from the day before, prawn toast well done, barbecue ribs had no taste,wontons was chewy , waste of £26

I am really disappointed how I was treated when after many years of having regular takeaways I called to advise the crispy aromatic duck was fatty and not crispy at all. I asked for a refund of this and was told no refund available after 5 mins of going round in circles I eventually got them to refund this but there customer complaints handling leaves a lot to be desired. Please do not use as I will not be again as apparently all customer lie and try it on to get a free be and everyone is the same

New Hong Kong is the best food in the Midlands.. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff and delivery drivers are so nice...the food is amazing..crispy beef and the ribs are so good...I always tip my driver as they are so fast and friendly x

Came here mid week after moving to the area and is the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in a very long time. The Chicken satay had pineapple in which was strange but it was the best satay I’ve ever had, hands down!

Tried this place via a friend referral and was not disappointed at all!! Ticked all the boxes, loads of meat in the special curry and you could cut the beef with a spoon. We’re in Mansfield and happily drive to hucknall for this tasty place

Excellent takeaway and the staff are amazing

We have been using New Hong Kong this year, latest meal was last night 22/11/20. Great meals always, I don't rely on delivery I pick up and cannot fault, I do not recognise the review I read on here. We did have some chewy duck once, but they do not grow the ducks. This is a very busy take away, there are at least 4 persons cooking, with the choice in the town if the other reviews were correct then they would not need this many in the kitchen.

I have tried a few take away in Hucknall and this is one of the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is lovely. I would highly recommend it.

Food bland and on the cool side, the final straw was a long, dark, dirty hair in one of the dishes, DISGUSTING! I called to complain and I asked if their kitchen staff wore the correct head coverage? The girl on the phone replied 'yes, I think so'. Did not sound very sure to me. If the hair was tied back completely, a hair net and a hat worn correctly this would NOT OCCUR! Come on New Hong Kong get your hygiene sorted before the health people do! I was offered a replacement but declined, sorry but the trust has gone and will not be returning.

Been using New Hong Kong for over 15 years, the food has been in decline in the last 5 or 6 years. Have given the benefit of the doubt far too often as the taste used to be the best. Tonight’s takeaway was the last time I will visit. Stale noodles. Obviously reheated to the point of destruction chicken. Very odd tasting is an understatement, I’ll be surprised if we don’t all have upset stomachs tonight. To put it it bluntly, I’ve had better ready meals from Tesco. 90% of the food went in the bin (would normally let the dog finish it but didn’t think it was fit for a dog).

Really good food! Always consistent too. Not greasy or flavourless like some places. Have been coming here for over a year now and its spot on every time. Delivery time is normally pretty good and friendly staff. 100% recommended

Possibly the worst Chinese ever ordered, the food was bland, and to make things worse, the food was cold, would not recommend this for my dog to eat

Ordered a take away from here tonight, when the food arrived we started eating And had to reheat the food as everything was cold, the food didn't have any flavour so we ended up throwing the whole lot away. Highly disappointed as normaly good food, when we rang up to complain they never offered any food or any if our money back.

By far my most favourite place to eat they are worth the wait when busy.

So before I start, the food was ok. No issues really, it was warm, good quality and enjoyable. However the customer service was horrendous! When I called to place the order, the female I spoke with was pleasant and polite and informed me that the food would be ready for collection in 20 minutes. So after 20 minutes I arrived and a different female took my money and said the food would be a few minutes. She gave me the wrong change, only by a pound and she did correct it when I mentioned it. So after 40 minutes of waiting my food still wasn't handed over. When I asked why I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes if it was, the reply was well we are busy. So I asked, if you knew you were busy why tell me it would be ready in 20 minutes. Only to be told, it can't be helped. A guy then came out to also explain this and I again asked why tell me 20 minutes and I still didn't get an answer, nor did I get an apology. Once I finally got my food and out of the takeaway I got a call to say they had forgot one of my dishes. I ordered just shy of £50 worth of food and it's safe to say that will be going to someone else next time. The food wasn't worth the terrible attitudes.

The food itself is okay however since being took over we've ordered on 5 separate occasions and every time the night and day after myself or someone in our group who as eaten from here has sickness and diarrhoea. Something isn't right.

Ordered our usual this week. Salt and pepper crispy chicken x 2 ...... not crispy at all with only 2 small pieces of chilli in each one... ... see it’s changed hands.. this was not good enough. Lost a valuable customer. Won’t order again.. what a shame Just changed my rating of new Hong Kong to 5 stars. We gave them a second chance as not fair to judge them on one experience which was not upto there usual standard. Tonight’s was brilliant. Food spot on. We asked for extra chilli and chicken was crispy. HIGHLY recommended.hot food and on time. Best in Hucknall.

I use this place on probably at least two times a month and I can say honestly that after countless meals from then I have never had a problem with the quality of the food or the service provided! They are always accommodating and just a wonderful local service

Just dont bother! Beef strips in the beef chow mein were cold but the noodles where hot. Item was missing off order Phoned to tell them and was asked if i still wanted the missing item! (yes i paid for it) Missing Item took 25 minutes to arrive original order only took 15 mins so had to eat meal without it. (we practically live on the same street!) When started eating was hot but under cooked very unhappy. I took the under cooked food back to the takeaway with the half eaten original meal. and was asked if i wanted to wait for them to cook up some more. did not particularly want to wait again............... was given a very week apology and nothing more very disappointed as this used to be a good takeaway i will not return and i would advise you avoid like the plague.
