Winter Garden Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

We attended this restaurant for my mother’s 60th birthday; it was a large group of us, including a baby, wheelchair user and person with significant allergies. The restaurant was very responsive with prior communications and we were very impressed with their service on the day. They went out of their way to make sure we were cared for and I was really impressed with the manner of our server, Anca. Not only was she kind and responsive, she had also ensured she had memorised the allergens menu which made it so easy for my husband to order! Overall a delicious meal in a lovely venue with great service.

We booked the table there for our friends birthday because it looks nice, but we all very disappointed. The food was fine, the atmosphere and the decorations is great, but service is very bad. We need to wait for so long for the food coming up. Besides that, all table there they serve birthday treats for them, but not for us even though i put special occasion(birthday), and when i ask can i bring the cake inside, they asked us to pay £12/person if we want to. Never come back

Very nice and very central hotel in London, where you can enjoy an afternoon tea from 1-5 in the afternoon. It has several rooms and in both the atmosphere is very relaxed and pleasant accompanied by piano music. A nice experience!

This was the second year running we visited The Winter Garden for our anniversary meal. Unfortunately our expectations were not met this year. We arrived ahead of time, 2035 for a 2100 timing, and were seated without delay. Great start! Took approximately 15 mins to come and take our drinks order but our drinks didn’t arrive until 2115. Not ideal. Asked for a Guinness and a Sauvignon white wine from New Zealand. Waiter, who was very good to us all night, then comes back 5 mins later and tells us that there is no Guinness and no NZ Sauv. Not the end of the world. I have an Ale and my wife then samples the replacement wine, rejects it and asks for an Espresso Martini. Drinks turn up and hers is absolutely disgusting. Waiter returns to take the food order and to check the drinks situation roughly 2130, and my wife tells him the Martini is not very nice. Waiter replaces it with a much better tasting Martini “on the house”. After the bread comes out an hour after we’ve arrived the starters turn up which were nothing special but we eat them as we are pretty hungry and await the mains. We think our mains are on route when a different waiter brings along what turns out to be another tables starter meals and walks off. We obviously called someone over to take them away, who then proceeds to move them straight from us to the correct table, after we had touched the plates. Roughly 2155 our mains arrive, again for the standard expected based on last years experience, were not anything special. In fact my wife left half her meal. Could hear tables around us complaining, sending food back or asking for the manager and refuse dessert and ask for the bill. The bill arrives and we have been charged for both the Sauvignon £12 and the Espresso Martini £17. I highlighted this to our original waiter who apologetically removed them from the bill. The biggest turn off, and I am absolutely not a snob, was the lack of dress code. We believed this location to be a 5* fine dining experience when there were people in tracksuits cutting around or cargo pants and T-shirts. We don’t get to eat out in these places very often and we expected even a smart casual look but this was not followed. Overall experience was not good I’m afraid and we will be reluctant to visit again next year.

We went there for afternoon tea and it was amazing. There was really nice tea and delicious snacks. It was nice that we could re-order whatever food we wanted. The atmosphere inside was nice and luxurious. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The price was of course very expensive and I think a bit too expensive. But overall it was a nice experience, thank you.

Came here after we travelled back from bicester village. For a restaurant experience where we walked in and had availability it was great. Felt welcome and wasn't awkward. Went for the 3 course and overall was happy with dishes that were served. Note that if you are looking for a meal to fill you up, this is more of an experience to have unique flavours. The winning strength and aspect of this restaurant definitely is the service of the staff. I felt they had a good balance of being familiar and welcoming without being too strong on it and giving a sense of privacy to the diners. Overall strong dishes that represent well Western dishes and an overall very relaxing experience had in such a remarkable establishment.

It was not as busy as I expected when I visited the winter garden but this is a bonus for me I will be back here soon to try more delicious mains on your menu.

Atmosphere is of course amazing, especially with the pianist! The service was ok, however not great and what was expected from this restaurant. The food was the real disappointment - the food was just very tasteless. For example, the cesar salad was literally just iceberg with burnt, unflavoured chicken. The cod had no flavouring whatsoever also! For this hotel, I’d expect way better service and food. I hope they’d improve this aspect, otherwise I wouldn’t return.

I recently visited Winter Garden to dine-in on the special occassion of my birthday. We received a warm welcome by the doorman and the lady at the front desk. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The exquisite decor, the lights, the live music - everything was extremely impressive. We went for the set menu of three courses which includes a glass of champagne. Butter and choices of fresh bread were being served all along. For the starter I had red mullet, cod for the main - both were delicious. For dessert I tried dark chocolate mousse which was also good. There was a special birthday tart in the end with live happy birthday music in the background, it was really special. Great dining experience overall!

Beautiful place, with lovely music and amazingly attentive staff, however a little disappointed with the food.. presented well but lacking in flavour and love .. I had the lamb with red wine sauce which was a little thin) but lamb cooked perfectly and lovely chips, it was fine just not exceptional as expected.. my date had the chicken .. sous vide to death, bland and unappetising, I wish I had taken a picture for you .. there was some sweetcorn slop in the middle of the plate and then a roulade of flavourless chicken on the side, he didn't eat it. However the sticky toffee pudding was the best I had ever tasted! And I've had many!! The pianist was fabulous too, if it wasn't for the incredible service and look of the place it would be a one star simply for the disappointment. All in all you are paying for the ambience definitely not the food !

First class wedding afternoon tea. It was absolutely faultless....there was so much we even got a doggy bag to go home with.

Had afternoon tea here on the 12th of August as it was for an occasion. From the minute we stepped into the building, the kind and welcoming doorman made us smile and laugh. The decor, lighting and ambiance was exquisite. Staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful, we were seated very quickly. John came and talked through the afternoon tea menu, we were very lucky as there was a women's tea week event going on, great presentation from the staff. Great selection of tea, sandwiches, scones, and delights. John reassured us about the halal menu and gave us some awesome recommendations for teas to try which paired really well with the food. Staff were very attentive and helpful. We took some lovely pictures under the beautiful palm trees, on the staircase and the balcony. The talented pianist played us a birthday song as requested. We received a complementary surprise birthday dessert with a candle which was very thoughtful. Overall we had the best time, would definitely recommend for special occasions. Please send our thanks to John, he was super helpful, attentive and made us laugh.

The best club sandwich in London!

This is an easy 10/10. The location is great, the interior is great, the ambiance is great, the lighting is great, the customer service is great, the food is great, and I absolutely enjoyed my high tea.

This was our first afternoon tea experience and what an experience! Beautiful environment, remarkable pianist and amazing service delivered by John and Sulfikar. The tea sandwiches, scones and pastries were delicious. My favourite was the add on of pistachio ganache accompanied to the scones. We were treated to an anniversary tart for our special event. Thank you to the winter garden team for making our anniversary so memorable! Highly recommend

One of the best high tea experience in London I've ever done and I've done about 30 in different places. I had been looking at this place since last year after seeing videos online but I wanted to wait for my friend from Canada to come to London so we could do it together. Beautiful interiors of palm trees and the lady pianist was fantastic and took our song requests. Super nice vibe. Anth was our very kind and pleasant server with a smile - always made sure we were happy with our portions. Angelo was our other server who came back a few times to offer more refills. Two fantastic men. My friend from Canada was also surprised when they came to give her an extra tart as I had secretly shared to the team that she just got engaged. Fantastic service and the portions were massive. The teas were lovely and the food was 10/10. Will definitely recommend them!

Amazing time at this place, the service was impeccable. We were served by Eufelia ,Rodica, & Anca. They gave me a Birthday tart, chefs kiss. The sticky toffee pudding was ok. The seabass was delicious. Highly recommend just for the atmosphere. The piano player was brilliant too.

I have eaten breakfast here frequently recently and have had problems with the staff on multiple occasions regarding my assistance dog. On the first day, they tried refusing me access to the buffet section. I explained assistance dogs are entitled to full public access and went to the buffet anyway. Every single time I've eaten here, the staff have tried to distract or pet my dog, despite the jacket clearly stating "DO NOT TOUCH". Today was the final straw. When we asked to be seated, the woman at the front desk said she wouldn't seat us until she spoke to the manager first. I told her that was unnecessary because assistance dogs are legally required to be given full public access, but she wouldn't listen and left us waiting. A few minutes later, another staff member was willing to seat us. However, after we were already seated, the manager named Leon came over and illegally demanded assistance dog ID. I calmly explained that it's illegal to require and informed him of the two questions he's allowed to ask me. I asked him if he wanted to ask me those instead, and he had no interest, still demanding the ID and telling me he asks it of all assistance dogs, meaning that they break the law every time. I implored multiple times for him to leave us alone, and he wouldn't. I told him to ask his superior to retrain him because it is not our job as guests to educate the Landmark staff. Leon completely ruined our breakfast, and, to make matters worse, the staff who kept coming over afterwards wouldn't stop distracting my dog, demonstrating that nobody there has any knowledge whatsoever about assistance dog laws let alone etiquette. No matter the venue, all businesses must respect and abide by the law, but for the money we're paying at the Landmark, this is beyond unacceptable.

I had a terrible experience at the Winter Garden restaurant. As a public relations professional from Brazil, I was in the middle of an online meeting and needed to charge my phone. The security guard, Oliver, approached me very rudely, asking if I was staying at the hotel or had a reservation, in a manner that made me feel like garbage. When I tried to get his name, he refused and acted with extreme disrespect. I then spoke with the manager, Rafaela, who was sympathetic but couldn't alleviate the humiliation I felt. Oliver assumed I didn't belong there, even though I was waiting for a friend to join me at the restaurant. As someone who frequents high-end hotels like The Peninsula and Hilton, I have never been treated so poorly. I often recommend hotels and restaurants to clients and friends, and this experience has severely damaged my impression of the Landmark Hotel. I hope the management takes immediate action regarding Oliver's behavior. This incident was not only disrespectful but also discriminatory and humiliating. I expect a five-star hotel to uphold a much higher standard of customer service.

I recently visited the Winter Garden in London and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. This hidden gem offers a delightful dining experience that starts the moment you step through the elegant exterior and are welcomed into a beautiful setting with lush greenery and ambient lighting. I opted for the reasonably priced three-course set menu, and it did not disappoint. The asparagus starter was fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavour. For the main course, I had the trout, which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The meal ended on a high note with a beautifully plated rhubarb tart, perfectly balancing sweet and tart flavors. The staff were friendly and professional. The stunning interior, with its lush greenery and elegant decor, made it the perfect spot for a special meal. Overall, the Winter Garden is a must-visit. Great food, excellent service, and a good atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Booked the set menu at the winter garden for lunch, wasn't too thrilled with the service overall. Food was great but I didn't appreciate being asked 'how long we would be eating our starters as the main course was ready', this caused my friend to feel uncomfortable and not finish her starter. Whilst we did spend a long time there chatting, we were asked for the table back even though people around us were still having afternoon tea and the restaurant was virtually empty? Having eaten at plenty of 5* restaurants/hotels and working in the service industry myself, I have never experienced this before. Can't say I'll be going back anytime soon. Overall great food ruined by poor service.

We had an amazing evening in the Landmark Winter Garden restaurant for dinner. All of the staff were so welcoming and our waiter Angelo was extremely attentive and delivered a fantastic service. All of the food we ordered was really nice and they even brought out a lovely dessert to celebrate our anniversary which made the experience even more special. We will definitely be back again!

The food was very delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful, but I did not like the behavior of the supervisor, Raffaella, towards me.. because I asked her if I could get ice, and I repeated the question to her 3 times, but she was ignoring me and did not respond, and this was very rude behavior that I did not like. As for me, I will not come again because of her.

This is definitely a great place for Instagram. The food was quite average, but the ambiance surely added to the overall appreciation of the meal. Good food, but unfortunately incredibly poor, unprofessional service. I would think that the serving staff had not received any training at all. Not the right wine glasses for expensive white wine, nor the right red wine glasses. The wine was poured into the glass without the host being allowed to taste. Water was also not poured after the first half - the bottles were put on the table. The restaurant also does not have fish cutlery.....Everything is incredibly unprofessional. Our worst dining experience in London.

We always go for dinner but today we went for my sisters birthday breakfast. Breakfast is a buffet with a wide selection suitable for everyone. From a full English (although I didn't see baked beans) to continental. Fruits from grapefruit and grapes to strawberries and passion fruits. Sweet tooth lovers, you will be extremely satisfied with there pastries and cakes selection. A huge thank you to Anca, for giving us excellent service. Going the extra mile to make my sister feel special! You were soooo memorable last year that she had to come back again this year.

We had dinner on Easter evening, together with my husband and my children aged 8 and 9 and we were delighted. The location is an enchanting garden, it seems to be in an outdoor environment, but instead it is framed by splendid, very high windows, with palm trees. The piano played live gives a special atmosphere, and has never been intrusive or excessive. Dinner was delicious, we adults chose the 3 course option, with a glass of champagne for £55 each. I ate carpaccio of octopus and cod cooked in a pan, of unspeakable goodness, my husband a duck-based appetizer, a kind of delicious stew. The children had a pasta with meat sauce that seemed homemade and a hamburger. The presentation of the dishes also pleased the view. Of course, the water at 8 pounds a bottle and the service charge are to be taken into consideration for a dinner of this level, which together with a dessert each, brought the bill to 210 pounds. It is an experience that, if possible, is worth a lot.

Popped in today to get a grab a take away coffee. Did not realise it was going to cost me £9 and to be honest it tasted no better than a machine coffee.

Overall not too bad. Very good value for money for central London. Only 55 pounds for a 3 course meal with a glass of Champagne and a cup of tea included in the price. However my starter took too long to arrive and was not amazing. The main course however was delicious I had the roasted cod. Baked Alaska for dessert was ok but no wow factor. Also waiter forgot to bring sugar with my tea I had to remind him.

Amazing experience. The food was tasty and prepared with care. I love trying different flavours and I enjoyed their dishes. There is a live piano in the background, Mimi made it a special day with her music, many thanks. The waiters were very attentive, and brought me a cake with a candle for my birthday while Mimi played "happy birthday", it was a very special atmosphere thanks to the Winter Garden and its staff.

The atmosphere is great by virtue of pretty interior and NOT because of excellent service, because it just isnt..The food was nice enough, i have had better food and service in less expensive places so I wouldn’t come back here. we arrived about an hour earlier and as there were plenty of empty tables in the main restaurant area I hoped we will be allowed to have drinks there (no space in their main bar) however, instead we were asked to take a seat in a tucked away area of the lobby under the staircase, which would have been fine if they haven’t forgotten about us and we had to chase them to take our orders after 20 minutes. It took some more chasing to get drinks and by the time they arrived, it was almost the time to take our table. After we finished third course, we ordered more drinks which arrived promptly, yet nobody bothered to clear the table. Also they tried to charge us for 5 Xmas menus and there were only 4 of us.. For a place of this calibre, I found the competence of staff simply shocking!

Winter Garden at The Landmark Hotel is a gem in London, boasting a stunning design and high-ceilinged space and a serene piano backdrop. While the food isn't overly fancy, it's truly great in taste and presentation. However, being asked to leave at 11:30 pm as they were closing, while understandable, felt a bit abrupt. Overall, it's a beautiful and highly recommended dining experience in London.

A beautiful restaurant inside The Landmark Hotel. An internal courtyard arrangement with a glass roof and palm trees. Live piano music in the evening helps to create a refined & relaxing atmosphere. Food and drink prices were reasonable for the area, and the service was attentive, professional and friendly. I will most definitely return.

Amazing Afternoon Tea in the Winter Garden

The food was below average. The diplay was really good but no taste.

My cousin and I celebrated both of our birthdays and we had so much fun! The place is stunning and the food was very good. I've removed a star because the apple tart was too acid with the lemon ice cream on top. The service was top notched! Our waiter was too kind and too precious. Thank you to the team. Also a big thank you to the couple next to us who surprised us with two mocktails for our birthdays. We were not expected that and we wanted to thank you and tell you how deeply grateful we are by your gesture. We gave back to some strangers the day after :) May God bless you!

We chose the Winter Garden for our post-wedding celebration meal and had a terrific time. The food was wonderful and the service was attentive; particular kudos is due to Emilia who marshalled proceedings. It was efficient but unrushed and the timing between courses was perfect. The set menu at £55 per head represented good value all things considered. We were allocated a semi-private within the Winter Garden area and we can attest that the ambience was just as we had hoped. We were a family of 12 adults and one infant, and everyone enjoyed their experience. We were seeking a special venue for a special occasion and the Winter Garden delivered.

All the afternoon teas were delicious. You can experience an extraordinary experience in a space with a high ceiling and a sense of openness.

We came for high tea and the overall experience (especially the service) was a let down given it's located in a 5 star hotel. For £70 plus service charge, you expect more. We were a larger group of 9 people and only had 5 teas we could choose from and the waitress still mixed the teas up. The service was extremely inattentive after the initial serve of tea - I had to serve my own tea from a nearby table. When I asked for a simple glass of water, the waitress was so inconvenienced from my request even though it had probably been an hour since she attended to us. The afternoon tea itself was decent but nothing amazing. I definitely won't be recommending it.

Great place for nice dinner and special nights with the family.

Everything was perfect except the minimum order amount is £55. Since there is no such information anywhere and we learned this at the time of ordering, I was not satisfied only because of this issue. However, I was pleased with the atmosphere, food and service. Also, thanks for the cake they gave us for our wedding anniversary.

Quiet with good food, amazing staff, live music in any weather.

Excellent food and good service. Quite a formal atmosphere so not one for noisy groups but an excellent spot for couples looking for great food in a quiet environment.

Tried the set menu, and it did not disappoint. Service was pretty good and we loved the ambience. I would recommend the beef short ribs.

A very nice cool interior with fine cuisine dining

Great for a drink or two. You'd be looking at approx £16 for a cocktail. Very opulent, and there were three weddings going on when we were there. Also lots of rich families with children running a bit riot.

We went here to celebrate our daughter's 1 year birthday and it was perfect. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff around. I made a pre inquires regarding specific diet and choice for our daughter three course and they really did their best to accommodate the request - even though we did not have book room to stay in . So thank you to the person I have been emailing, head of chef, waitress and waiters and front of House. We will definitely be back soon. They even had a small personalised happy birthday wishes with small cake toped with a lovely pino birthday song - it was just perfect and a very nice touch.

Food, service, location of this place deliver all the expectations. Live piano concert was very beautiful. Highly recommended!

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, but strikingly poor service for such a fancy restaurant. The starter came out far too fast (2 minutes after the bread) and then the main course came far too slow. The staff also forgot our drinks orders on two separate occasions, and left the empty plates of our main course on the table for 15 minutes. On the other hand, the staff were very pleasant. I think perhaps they are too inexperienced, and there is not enough of them.

A restaurant with a great atmosphere (very instagrammable) and decent food. I had the price fixe lunch which included a refreshing splash of champagne. Ended up ordering a veggie dish for my mains that was not thrilling- with all the fried items on my dish. I think if the fried items were more accurately described, I could have avoided choosing it. I actually wanted to order the fish but purposefully chose to avoid it after a waitress passed with a fish dish that left a horrible lingering, wafting fishy smell- an indication to me the fish was not fresh. Overall, the classy atmosphere makes up for what the food lacked.

The Winter Garden Restaurant is one of the restaurants of the Landmark Hotel, a very old but well maintained hotel in central London. It serves traditional English food, well executed overall. Nothing fancy food wise, just good food. I had the set menu for £60 including a drink. As you can see from the pictures I had the sea bass ceviche, the slow cooked beef rib and a strawberry tart. All very good in their own right. Service wise, some were better than others, nothing outstanding there. I would recommend overall.

The service was exceptional, staff were very attentive even the person that opened the door for us to come in was so lovely! The atmosphere was insane, such a beautiful restaurant. The food was was incredible in terms of presentation and taste. The chicken is halal, you have to notify them if you want the beef to be halal 5 days prior to the booking. I will deffo be coming back again!
