Such an incredible building and a testament to what we used to build with faith. The ascent to the top was intense and felt like a real adventure, up spiral staircases through small openings to large expansive views of London. Would highly recommend a visit. Definitely worth the price.

This is a lovely Anglican church with heavy Roman architecture inspiration. There's a main area, upstairs gallery/dome, and the crypt below. The upstairs gallery is about 300 steps to the first level, and an additional 100 steps to levels 2 and 3. Levels 2 and 3 are outside and you can view the city skyline (see pictures). Note that at the first gallery level, you cannot take pictures as some individuals have dropped their phones in the past. Additionally, as you ascend to the hire exterior galleries, there are low clearance areas so watch your head. I'd save the crypt for the end since that's where the exit is.

Nice experience, I recommend it, even though I haven't done the whole route. Obviously you can access via a ticket which gives you the right to a multimedia guide in all languages, so if you're in a hurry, buy them online. The structure is mainly divided into 3 areas, an underground one where they are located. the catacombs and the exit, the main part where around 12 you can also attend mass and a part which is part of the route but is strongly not recommended for those who suffer from vertigo and have physical problems. The part which I do not recommend leads up to the roof giving the possibility of looking at the city from above and then allowing you to go through a staircase that you have already seen in the Henry Potter films

The free guided tours make the whole experience worth the cost!! You learn so much and they give you lots of pieces of history that you can't learn from just walking around. The crypt is kid friendly to walk around, but the dome and any levels above are absolutely not small child friendly and not for the faint of heart. But totally worth it if you're willing to make the hike!

I advise you already that the best part, the dome, it’s not going to be for everyone, the first level is interior and the easiest. The next two are outside and if you’re scared of heights or tight spaces don’t go. What an absolute masterpiece. The level of detail, the architectural thought, engineering, optical illusions… its presence it’s so imponent outside compared to the other buildings, such an impressive scale, compared to a much more controlled and human related environment. Wren’s is an absolute genius, and although it wasn’t its first design, I’m glad this one got through.

The most extraordinary cathedral in London. The size and the richness of the decorations are astonishing. I went specifically for a sung service. It was beautiful. What was disappointing were the visitors who insisted on disturbing the service by filming and photographing, even though specifically being asked not to. The acoustics are extraordinary though not well suited to music as the reverb goes for 10 seconds and makes all the sounds muddy and melds them together. An incredible piece of British history and culture, with some of the best views in London. The cathedral is in brilliant condition, as well it should be with the entrance fee they charge. There is also an audio guide included. If you are physically able, you must go up to the high galleries to take in the view. Be warned it is a lot of steep, narrow steps! But the view is outstanding. A few niggles get in the way of the tour: on the hour you are a little guilted into a short prayer, and you are often shooed out of areas so staff can do something. The audio guide is very competently made with a vast range of languages and child guides, but lacking structure - you find yourself wandering around figuring out what area they are commentating on - simple numbers would help this. And I wanted to know more about the construction and reconstruction of the building and these details were lacking. By comparison Westminster Abbey's tour is superior. An incredible building with fantastic views, but a little rough on the tour aspect.

MORE AT Google

St Paul's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in London, England, the seat of the Bishop of London. The cathedral serves as the mother church of the Diocese of London. It is on Ludgate Hill at the highest point of the City of London. Its dedication in honour of Paul the Apostle dates back to the original church on this site, founded in AD 604. The present structure, which was completed in 1710, is a Grade I listed building that was designed in the English Baroque style by Sir Christopher Wren. The cathedral's reconstruction was part of a major rebuilding programme initiated in the aftermath of the Great Fire of London. The earlier Gothic cathedral (Old St Paul's Cathedral), largely destroyed in the Great Fire, was a central focus for medieval and early modern London, including Paul's walk and St Paul's Churchyard, being the site of St Paul's Cross. The cathedral is one of the most famous and recognisable sights of London. Its dome, surrounded by the spires of Wren's City churches, has dominated the skyline for over 300 years. At 365 ft (111 m) high, it was the tallest building in London from 1710 to 1963. The dome is still one of the highest in the world. St Paul's is the second-largest church building in area in the United Kingdom, after Liverpool Cathedral. Services held at St Paul's have included the funerals of Admiral Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington, Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher; jubilee celebrations for Queen Victoria; an inauguration service for the Metropolitan Hospital Sunday Fund; peace services marking the end of the First and Second World Wars; the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer; the launch of the Festival of Britain; and the thanksgiving services for the Silver, Golden, Diamond, and Platinum Jubilees and the 80th and 90th birthdays of Queen Elizabeth II. St Paul's Cathedral is the central subject of much promotional material, as well as of images of the dome surrounded by the smoke and fire of the Blitz. The cathedral is a working church with hourly prayer and daily services. The tourist entry fee at the door is £25 for adults (January 2024) but no charges are made to worshippers attending services, or for private prayer. The nearest London Underground station is St Paul's, which is 130 yards (120 m) away from St Paul's Cathedral. St Paul's Cathedral destroyed by the Great Fire of London in 1666, the current building was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1710. Its iconic dome is 111 metres (364ft) high and is one of the largest cathedral domes in the world. Experience breathtaking views along the central aisle as you enter the cathedral. Pause to admire Wellington’s Monument, a tribute to the Duke of Wellington, one of the country’s leading soldiers and statesmen. There are also monuments to the explorer Robert Scott and the painter JMW Turner, along with a marble effigy of John Donne, poet and a former Dean of the Cathedral. Look for the scorch marks on the base of the monument which was damaged in the Great Fire of London. Famous artworks include William Holman Hunt’s painting, The Light of the World, and the Henry Moore sculpture, Mother and Child: Hood, a memorial to modern martyrs. Venture down to the crypt and discover the tombs and memorials of some of the nation’s greatest heroes, such as Admiral Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington and Sir Christopher Wren. If you’ve got a head for heights, visit the Stone and Golden Galleries (subject to availability) to take in some of the most spectacular views across London.
