St. Paul's Cathedral is absolutely breathtaking! It's this massive, iconic dome that you can see from all over London, and it's even more impressive up close. The sheer scale of the place is incredible. Inside, it's just as grand. The dome itself is a masterpiece, and the mosaics and artwork are stunning. We climbed to the Whispering Gallery, which was a bit of a workout, but totally worth it. You can whisper on one side and hear it clearly on the other – it's kinda magical! ✨ We also went down to the crypt, which was a bit spooky but fascinating. It's the final resting place of some famous figures, including Admiral Nelson and the Duke of Wellington. Honestly, I found St. Paul's to be even more impressive than Westminster Abbey. It's a beautiful and awe-inspiring building that's steeped in history. Definitely a must-see for any visitor to London. Just be prepared for a bit of a climb and maybe book your tickets online to skip the queue! 👍

I got in without waiting at 10:00 on a Tuesday. The interior was also nice and grand. I was looking forward to an observatory, but the first observatory was located inside the dome, but the passage was narrow, so photography and video were prohibited. It was possible to take photos and videos from the second observatory, but the view was not that good. The third highest observatory had the best view. However, it is not that spacious, so it may be inconvenient if you visit during busy times. Above all, the stairs going up can be dizzy as they go in circles, and the stairs going up to the second and third observatories are steep and made of wire mesh, so it can be difficult. My knees hurt a little when I went down. I liked the underground atmosphere the best. I highly recommend visiting the basement as well.

St. Paul’s Cathedral, an iconic symbol of London, is a masterpiece of architectural grandeur and historical significance. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1710, its majestic dome dominates the city’s skyline, making it one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. The cathedral's exterior is a marvel of Baroque architecture, with its striking white facade, intricate carvings, and impressive Corinthian columns. The dome, which rises 111 meters above the ground, is an engineering triumph and offers breathtaking views of London from its Whispering Gallery, where even the softest whisper can be heard clearly across the dome. Inside, St. Paul’s Cathedral is equally awe-inspiring. The vast nave, adorned with stunning mosaics and marble, creates a sense of space and reverence. The high altar and the elaborate, gold-decorated ceiling are truly magnificent, reflecting the cathedral's role as a place of worship and celebration. One of the most memorable experiences is the climb to the Golden Gallery, the highest point accessible to visitors. The ascent is challenging, with over 500 steps, but the panoramic views of London make it a rewarding endeavor. On a clear day, you can see landmarks like the Tower Bridge and the Shard in the distance. The cathedral also holds significant historical importance. It has been the site of many notable events, including the weddings of Sir Winston Churchill and Lady Diana Spencer, as well as the funerals of Lord Nelson and Sir Winston Churchill. Its role in British history is both deep and varied. Visitors should note that St. Paul’s is a working cathedral, so it’s advisable to check the schedule before planning your visit, as services and special events can sometimes limit access to certain areas. The admission fee supports the cathedral’s ongoing maintenance and conservation efforts, ensuring that this historical gem remains a beacon of cultural and spiritual significance for future generations. Overall, St. Paul’s Cathedral is a must-visit for its architectural beauty, historical significance, and the unique experience it offers. Whether you're drawn by its history, its design, or simply the chance to enjoy a stunning view of London, St. Paul’s provides an unforgettable experience.

The place is, of course, absolutely stunning and as impressive as the Pyramids or Colosseum. I'm lucky in that I can see the dome from where I live (though the increasing height of and increasingly abhorrent London skyline has taken the tallest building for hundreds of years and made it almost invisible). I get to travel past it quite regularly and it's always the highlight of my journey. But I rarely go in, and to not be able to go into the House of God when one wants - and it's open - is a sacrilege in my view. A £25 entrance fee for an adult, especially for locals, is ridiculous. But when one multiplies that for a family, or for someone who wishes to visit regularly, it's simply OBSCENE. I fully appreciate the need to ask for money in order to support the upkeep of this magnificent building but it should be a minimal charge or better yet, donations, as every other small church, parish church, dinky chapel across the country asks for and survives on. Other great cathedrals survive without charging entrance fees (Southwark, just across the river, being a prime example). And then there are the staff. Oi vey! Again, I understand tourists can sometimes be a handful but it's simply not Christian the way some of the church officials (not even the volunteers) speak to visitors. We were there for a service and one man was particularly rude with how he was talking to a woman. This is unacceptable. I know he's only human but manners and friendliness cost nothing and should be the bare minimum required from anybody working in such an establishment. And I do absolutely believe it was in part due to sexism as I definitely thought he wouldn't have spoken to a tall man the way he was speaking to this petite older female. But then there was an usher - a delightful female who was trying to answer questions even as they were trying to hurry everyone out of the building so it could be closed for the evening. She was friendly and with a wealth of information and I think it's a shame I didn't get to speak to her earlier in the day as I would have left with a much deeper appreciation for the building and it's historical objects, I'm sure. We were not treated to music from the main organs, but from a smaller console that would still drown out stampeding elephants, and a choir was present which was also pleasant to hear - but yet again, a downside: that being the sexism of an all-boys choir (as a female chorister, I'm always deeply offended at this nonsensical notion that girls aren't good enough). The unfortunate acoustics of the cathedral mean that they are in many respects essential during any sung service as the repeated echoes (I think every sound echoes for about 7 seconds) would make it impossible for untrained singers to be able to sing with any confidence. The echo is also very evident during all spoken sections of a service so that should be kept in mind if planning on attending any smaller/less popular events if one has hearing issues. The echo is far less pronounced when the cathedral is packed with bodies to absorb the sound! There are a great many historical items, with access to the crypt. I am unaware if there is still access to the roof - but in my youth I used to love climbing right to the top and seeing the view from atop the dome. I know the whispering gallery was closed for a while and assume this is still the case. Just another reason why the entrance fee is excessive. Would I recommend it? Yes, just as I would recommend visiting any outstanding historical building. But I would suggest if one cannot afford the fee then the only option is to attend a service - get there an hour or so early to allow some time to explore beforehand. It won't be the best way to experience it, you won't have access to guides or audio guides, but you will at least be able to see some of it for free, and then experience a church service (which, as with all Anglican churches, is open to ALL people of ALL faiths. Everybody is welcome to attend and learn how things are done!). For the disabled, there are alternate entrances.

Although the cathedral is large, the biggest attraction of this place for travelers is that you can take pictures of London without windows. Many people just go there without even knowing that there is an observatory, but if you are going for sightseeing, it is a must-visit place. It feels like I'm at the Empire State Building in New York. It makes you wonder how such a huge and amazing building was built so long ago. It is a must-visit place when the weather is nice, as it offers views in all directions from the very center of London. However, you have to walk up and it feels like climbing a mountain! It is recommended to visit in comfortable clothes.

Having stayed at the Sofitel Chicago, I was excited to stay at the Sofitel London St James. I was very pleased with my stay and accommodations! The staff is wonderful from the Doorman, Antero, Concierge, Morris, front desk reception and housekeeping. Ms. Harsha was particularly helpful in ensuring my special room request was satisfied. My son and I enjoyed our visit and would definitely return. Cheers!!

The meal was excellent! There are many vegetarian options. The homemade lemonade is highly recommended. In addition, the staff is extremely courteous and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!
