House of Ming in City of London, Westminster

The taste is religiously good We stayed at the Taj Hotel for a different experience and the House of Ming is attached. We love our Dimsum/Yum Cha and this is truely next level in taste and texture Don’t forget the cocktails! The price… well for the price of a couple of steaks anywhere in London you can have several dishes here and better environment ! Our waiter Prasad was first rate in service and knowledgeable Highly Recommended

This has been one of my best restaurant experiences in London, after visiting yearly. Food was absolutely brilliant, definitely recommend the dim sum option. However, the portion sizes are not huge, just enough to feel satisfied. The service was absolutely fenomenal and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Amazing food and great waiters. Dexter took care of us and was the nicest. The slots wäre a little too short though. Would be nice to have more time🤞🏼 Anyway- we will come again😍

Sub-standard Chinese food and experience. Considering I spent £350 for 3 people, I thought it would be wise for people to be aware what they are paying for. We ordered the most expensive dishes (Chefs Signatures) Wagyu Beef, Fried Lamb, Glazed Pork. All were salty and oily. The Roast Duck was the only nice dish. Chicken noodle and rice were disappointing and bland. Service was a mess. They forgot to take my coat, I had to ask them. They provided 2 menus for 3 people. One of their toilets did not flush properly (The left one if you care to know). At the end there was no one at the door to provide my coat, I had to interrupt two waiters whilst they where talking to each other. Sad to say the decor and environment were no better, stale with no charm. If the restaurant wasn't so overly priced and classed as fine dinning then I would be more tolerant but when it's so expensive you expect the best. Do not waste your money here, Mr. Ming is sleeping on the job!

Lovely evening with the family enjoying a Christmas family outing and dinner at House of ming. It suited the variety of taste buds for my family to vegetarian and some poultry dishes. We had a separate area as we had children with us and gave hen space to play around and not disturb other guests. Dexter our waiter was helpful with menu choices, attentive and went an extra mile for us with helping serve the children food quickly as they were hungry. I would recommend this place to enjoy a variety of Chinese food in London

Food is pretty good but the portions are soooo small.

For central London, a stones throw from Buckingham Palace, this was an unexpected delight. Food was great, interesting and very well balanced. The best bit were the staff however, knowledgeable, friendly and left us feeling very special.

Nice staff & ambience but disappointing food. I was so excited to visit this restaurant after reading all the 5 star reviews, but I should have read the 3 star reviews as sadly they were more accurate. The food was so bland. Dumplings were average, similar to any chain like ping pong or dimt but at this price point should be exceptional. The chicken Hakka stir fried noodles & Singaporean noodles had very little veg and chicken (the waitress suggested we order 2 noodle dishes for 3 adults and a toddler - mistake!) . The chicken dish & prawn dish were small in size. Portions need to be more generous. The food was salty and lacking in taste. Desserts were pretty to look at but lacking in taste (we tried Elements, mango sago & date pancake). Your chef needs training house of ming! What a disappointment and we were entertaining a colleague who had come from China. We tried Noble Palace & Ma La Szechaun - both far far better.

Amazing food. The lamb small plate was incredible but all food was perfect. Dexter and all the team were so kind and helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Great value all round. Would 100% recommend!

Overpriced for what you get, definately not 5 star, 3 at best. I've had far better and paid less. Spring Rolls were tiny and hardly any filling. Their table sauces added the flavour which made me finish the main meal. Egg fried rice and Hakka Noodles were glistening with oil. The sauce with the Tofu was a strange gooey consistency. Even the free dessert was poor. We just couldn't fault the impeccable service, but I heard two other tables complain during our time their, about the food. Such a shame. I had high expectations after it was recommended, but the food let it down. I was also cold the entire time sat right opposite the entrance. Decor was luxurious and cosy.

Came here for my mum's birthday and had a fantastic evening. The food was amazing and desserts imaginative, the service was excellent and all the team went above and beyond esp. our main server Dexter. My mum was made to feel very special. Would definitely recommend.

Had lunch today at this place. Totally loved and enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary. I had made a reservation to celebrate a friend’s birthday because I had heard great reviews about this restaurant. Upon arriving at the restaurant the staff were very friendly and polite and the restaurant looked very beautiful. The food and drinks menu had great selection. When the food arrived it wasn’t presented that well plus the food tasted and looked average, I had ordered a portion of crispy chilli potato and when I saw i was out of words, it was just chips covered with hot and sweet sauce which was for £16. Highly disappointed with the quality of the food.

The food is excellent. Everything we ordered was absolutely on point including both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. The service was very fast and efficient. Our server Prithvi made sure to check on the table at regular intervals and have good suggestions in regards to the food. The ambience is very chill and suitable for all kinds of visits. Really recommend you try this place out and make sure you get the dimsums

We were staying at Taj St James Court and visited their Chinese restaurant called House of Ming. The food was excellent with multiple vegan and vegetarian options which suited our palate. The service was excellent and a shout to Palpasha and Avighna who went out of their way to make our dinner memorable. Must visit when in London

OMG!!! Wow! Must try this best food and the service top notch by far!! We tried so many dishes, each one fabulous delicious!! Spring rolls, Crispy lamb, Sweet-and-sour pork, Fried prawns, Egg fried rice and garlic jasmine rice,, kung pow chicken!!! Lots of dipping sauces, which we enjoyed experimenting the flavors.. restaurant was decor representative of the mood… I was thoroughly pampered as was my husband too. I was skeptic until I came here, trying some dishes. Even my cocktail delicious Paloma martini.. Just had one next-door the hotel, but nothing compares to this wonderful flavor with a floating pansy flower on top as a Delicate touch. If I did not live in the states, I would be here on a regular basis..

I would highly recommend the Executive Lunch. It includes delicious dishes such as prawn dumplings, chilli oyster fish and vegetable noodles. Everything about this restaurant is elegant - the crockery, the decor, the attention to detail and presentation of the dishes. Perfect service from our waiters, Dexter and Palpasha, who were so helpful and welcoming. This truly is a hidden gem in Victoria!

We were really looking forward to our dinner. We had planned to go for the imperial menu. Unfortunately, we couldn't We didn't order this because you get this menu a week in advance To order. It was said on the website. I couldn't do it Find. We were in a kind of lobby of the restaurant Posted. Very unpleasant. Many things also went wrong with the operation. For example, we received the main course on the dirty plate of the dessert. Fortunately the food was fine. Overall a disappointing experience.

Service is underwhelming, initial drinks came stale, replacements were given after request, second round of drinks was forgotten and than whole th EU promised them to be complimentary - they are ere charged anyway. Food was good.

Went for lunch at House of Ming - absolutely amazing hospitality. Samrit asst F&B was very welcoming. All the staff Dexter, Ivonio, Palpasha and Jibin made sure that we had a great time. We arrived late and were accomodated thankfully. The service was excellent. The portions were generous and we enjoyed all the dishes. My 9 year old Godson gave it 5 stars unprompted! A lovely treat on a Sunday afternoon 😊

After a lot of research we decided to visit the House of Ming for a special occasion. We received a warm welcome and good service. We opted for the taster menu. The appetisers and starters were very nice. Fresh hot and full of flavour. However when the mains arrived there were cold, the meat was tough and the flavours were lacking. We were so disappointed as the start of the menu was very promising. We reported this to the staff with the chef offering to cook us another main but by this point we were ready for desert at nearly 2.5 hours into the meal. Whilst there was an offer to replace a main meal we were surprised to receive the full bill when the mains and side were all returned. hope this was just a blip. Would we return, I suspect not.

Wonderful lunch on Saturday. Warm hospitality even though we were close to "last order". Great food. Palpasha was a wonderful waitress and helped us with our choices. Thank you to all.

Went there with my husband for his birthday. We had a 10 out of 10 experience. We were greeted with friendly waiters. Loved the decor and ambience. Food was amazing we enjoyed everything we ordered. This place is worth coming back for. Our waiter Dexter was very lovely.

Oh the full course meal was absolutely awesome, and the staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and funny. Happily recommend. Dexter, or dedicated server, was quite charming and helpful.

From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty. Ivdnio and Shah gave us the very best care and attention. They were professional but also charming and knowledgeable. We needed a lot of guidance through the menu and Shah was helpful and informative without any hint of being condescending. In the end we opted for the non-vegetarian set menu. Oh my goodness! It was by far the best Chinese meal we have ever had. From the light, fluffy dim sun to the ginger sorbet, every mouthful was a delight of flavour explosions. Why this restaurant isn’t Michelin starred is beyond us! It’s fabulous. We couldn’t have asked for a better night out and would recommend to anyone 100%!

From the movement we walked in the service was exceptional, the food was the best we have eaten whilst in london. Dexter our server was very attentive and provided great meal suggestions. Very underwhelming. Went for a birthday celebration that I told the restaurant about when I called. It’s the first restaurant in my life that didn’t give a dessert with “happy birthday” written next to it! Was one candle too much effort to put? Food was nothing special. After reading the reviews I expected something very tasty /impressive. Our order didnt fit on the table so they put in somewhere behind in the corridor so when we wanted more food, we either had to stand up or ask someone to bring it to us. Obviously it got very cold. Also, it took so much time for the waitress to put our food on our plates, every 10 min our conversation was interrupted. And there’s no need to ask if we like the food every 5 min by multiple people. It should be on person and not constantly. Sitting was horrible. Felt like in a market where people walk behind and next to you all the time. Door kept on opening and closing adding noise and wind. Half of restaurant was empty but we were not allowed to sit there. Have been in many restaurants in london but this one has been a great disappointment

Great Spot for an intimate dinner with Family or Friends. Everyone was Great, but our Server Dexter was the best. He attended to our every need and was quite engaging in conversations. A very accommodating establishment for us.
